p30 region model ele-l29 - Huawei P30 Questions & Answers

hello
since im interested about p30 while checking gsm arena i noticed that model ELE-L29 comes into two variations 6ram and 8 ram and "global" . Looking around for EU stores mostly i found was the 6 ram model so im guessing its more like the 6 model be European. i only found the 8 ram model in an online site which has eu warehouse but i think all models come through Asia. so my concern is what "global" actual means. is it clean from Chinese apps and software language? how are the "global" variations covered by warranty? that site claims 1 year under them and dont come under manufacturer warranty while eu law states 2 years if the item is bought from eu.
if anyone can explain it more how these variations work or had any experience with a "global international model" and had problem or even different variation from his region what happened with warranty. Any info would appreciated
regards

Which region is the H60L04 V100R001C00B103? which bands used? How to upgrade?

Hello good afternoon:
Buy me a particular honor 6 months ago. I have contacted the support page of hihonor to ask for the version that brings my honor to be the V100R001C00B103. I came in a white box, comes back to be the H60L04 model, same settings, the version I hisuite detected smoothly, the IMEI is correct. My question is I have android 4.4.2 and am trying to figure out what the update that corresponds to me, but to do that I wonder at what my honor6 region belongs ?. For the model it is Europe and is one sim. I would also like to know that my model uses 4g bands. Location Andalucia Spain, and in principle and works well **** me 4G network, but want to know that frequency bands used my model. And I repeat, I want to find out what is my honor region in June? I hope you can answer my questions, because I have not been so far able to find more information about my model. Greetings and thank you very much everyone for your help. Forgive my English

[QUESTION] Honor 8 FRD-DL00

Hi guys,
I have a few questions about my device as I was unable to find any information about my model after two hours of googling.
I bought my Honor 8 about week ago, I love the device, it is really beautiful piece of hardware.
Anyway I am located in Central Europe in Czech Republic. After two days or so I realized that my phone is not using LTE at all.
Also I updated my phone on the first day I bought it. There is Czech localization available on the phone in EMUI 5, however a lot of stuff is in Chinese (update's changelog, stock apps from Huawei, I am also unable to change HiVoice to Google assistant, etc.) and I had to install Google Play additionally as it wasn't there at all.
I was wondering if this is really a model for the Europe as the shop where I bought the phone says, or they are scammers?
My current firmware version is FRD-DL00C00B368.
I would like to know if there is a way how to switch to the Europe version of the firmware?
Many thanks you guys, love XDA, hopefully someone will have the answers.
Michal
Hi there,
What a weirdo situation. Your current model (FRD DL00 if i'm not mistaken) was taken off the shelf not a long time ago here where I live (France), even tho you can find most editions here (Including chinese and indian if you look hard enough ). Europe's standard model is actually FRD-L09
My suggestion is that you waltz back to the store and exchange your current unit for a FRD-L09. You're perfectly entitled to a refund, as european laws grant you a two-weeks arbitrary refund, and a two-year warranty. Tell me how that works out

Buying OP7 pro in UAE? Will the phone be restriction-free?

Hi,
I am considering buying new Oneplus 7 on some other market than EU, because of pricing of OP company in different regions (especially Europe) is just outrageous. Buying it in USA is an issue because of the import fees (plus everyone is saying that in USA you can buy only TMobile version of the phone..)
So I thought abot United Arab Emirates. My father is an expat there, and the price ends up 130 EUR cheaper then Europe price (which is shameful, shameful, shameful, that everywhere in the world the phone is at least 130 EUR cheapaer), speaking about the Blue variant, 8/256 GB thru amazon.ae.
But I am wondering if there is any catch about UAE version, it is very secretive and restrictive kinggdom, especially in their efforts to block all but state monitored networks and VoIP/VoLTE apps.
But maybe I am just as paranoid as the UAE government is.. Thanks for your replies.
Feel free to buy it. It is global version as in Europe. No changes to firmware whatsoever.

Amen! I bought one from amazon.ae...No restrictions, it's a totally unlocked variant but the only difference is that you might be getting GM1913/ GM1910 rather than the Europe version...there won't be any difference in the hardware except for when you might get an update to the software...Since it's oneplus, you can easily install any global version of the Oxygen OS via the system updater rather than actually waiting for the update to be pushed to your phone...
Go ahead...save the 130Euro...

P30 from "Asian partners" and OTA

Good day everyone.
I'm planning to change my phone from samsung note 8 to huaweii P30. I consider to buy one from an ebay (UK) - it's been imported from, as seller described it, "asian partners".
I did similar thing with my current Samsung note 8 - it's from UAE region with UK SIM card inside and it doesn't receive OTA updates due to incompatibility of regions (CRC etc).
Does the same problem exist with Huawei phones?
I am planning to buy p30 ele-l29 (dual sim)
yes dont buy it as i came across the same thing. Seller didnt say from where the phone was and once received, firmware region was c900 "global" but doenst receive updates nor warranty is valid.
And since bootloader is locked you cant do anything. Even official local support cant help since this was chinese phone sold to uk and is not supported in my current region (eu)
Thank you!
That was what I expected but wasn't sure.
Cheers mate <3

OnePlus 8 (IN2010) Chinese Bands vs Europe

Hello,
i would just like to know if OnePlus 8 (China version) is good enough to support 4G LTE in EU, does it have all the bands required? I've read about "band 28" which it lacks and that this will be used for 5G? I don't care for 5G (yet), so my question is, will it work for everything else, is it good enough, i'm from Slovenia if that helps, i've been checking the bands, but i'm too confused to know what to think about this, those are too confusing for me, i've been checking them, but i'm just not sure, i think it should be fine, but i'm not 100% sure, so if anyone who knows this stuff can tell me, or even better, someone who has that OnePlus 8 phone can tell me, that would be great (=
Greetings
I have just ordered a CN version for use in the UK and from what i have read it lacks 1 frequency (band 32 i think) which from what i'm aware o2 in UK doesn't use .... Is this correct anyone? (Sorry if this a thread hijack)

Hi, just to be sure we're on the same page, I read that IN2010 is the international version (5 4gLTE bands support) and IN2020 is the Chinese one, which is missing one band used here in Europe.
Are you sure IN2010 is Chinese ?

Oh thx, I didn't see that one coming , so I have 2 questions : where to search for those infos (regional variants numbers I mean) and is this a software matter or a hardware matter ? (Will there be missing/China specials bands in it or it's just software)
Edit:
Are there any global version of the OnePlus 8, if so what would be its regional variant name ?

I just use google to find out a variant. The main differences are hardware related, specifically the bands of the device. There is also a chinese version of Oxygen OS which is called Hydrogen OS , but this can change easily by flashing global unlocked OxygenOS without any compromises.
Here you can learn more about the bands in each version : https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/g1rm7e/oneplus_8_pro_versions_and_4glte_and_5g_nr/
Edit: I think there is not a global version bandwise. (US, Europe, India and China as far as i know )

Hi,
Thanks for all this clarification, indeed I've been kinda fooled by marketing speech...
I've bought the OnePlus 8 not on the OnePlus website but on another one, and the announce said "OnePlus International Version IN2010", I was like "cool, plus it's cheap, let's get this".
Now I understand the business behind the whole website (a French one): they buy in China, flash the global rom manually and sells it cheaper, but make a little margin on the final price. That's why they call it international, just because of the ROM!
I knew (but still wanted confirmation) about missing bands a HydrogenOS and now I fully understand the market scheme. So I'll be missing B28 band (used in France with my career for 4G LTE)and an EU-compatible charger. No big deal but I'm kinda disappointed in myself, not being able to see through marketing speech and candidly trusting attractive prices... Well, we learn as we make mistakes (and I'm not ready to forgot that one).
One last think, kil-movil had a section for the OnePlus 8 called "Global" with every bands marked as available, and the model number was still IN2010. I guess they're part of the deal, since when I clicked on "see offers" I was redirected to the website I bought it in.
Even the seller was lying as he said "compatible with every bands in France". And when people ask, he was denying it every single time
Thanks for your explanations tho, I'll be able to warn the next ones at least.

That is unfortunate. Can't you claim RMA or something?

Yup don't worry, I can return it and having all my money back but I don't think I will, my Nextbit Robin (daily driver) is dying and not having B28 4G out of 4 other antennas available isn't a big deal. I have only 50 Mo of data so I don't use 4G often. I would have been bothered by the charger but the seller claims (if it's not a lie) that he gives us an adapter. (Comments says he does, so hopefully he'll do)
Right now the only thing I have to do is getting past the disillusionment with some good music. Have you any title to recommend?

IN2013= EU version, not global, there is no global version.
But thx for the website, it's nice to have that tool
Is it possible to activate the VoLTE service (Vodafone ITA) with IN2010?
