[Q] How can I find my EXACT model number? - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

I looked where the Samsung web page told me to look for my model number for my Galaxy 7 Plus Tab. I come up with "GT-P6210MA" Problem is, that's NOT one of the model numbers that is listed on the Sammy website!? Thankfully, so far, I've only needed to download Kies, but there may come a time where I'd really like to know my EXACT model number?
Looking in the menu under "about phone" I just get GT-P6210...Is there anyplace in the software that gives me my exact model number? All I know for sure is I have the Wi-Fi (only)version GT-P6210 16Gb.

I was a little confused by this issue also.
The only place I was able to find the full model number was on my receipt from Best Buy.
All of them start with GT-P6210MA, then end with AXAR or YXAR, etc..
When I asked a Samsung support rep. about this issue and any potential differences between the two model numbers, they said there weren't any actual differences and the slightly different codes may indicate which carriers/sellers the product is sold through.
My receipt from Best Buy said GT-P6210MAYXAR.

There is a hard plastic cover on the tablet when you first take it out of the box. It has a sticker on it that gives that actual model number. I purchased mine at Best Buy and the model number was GT-P6210MAYXAR, also.

use "Phone INFO ★Samsung★" application

The method I used to make sure the One S I bought was an S4

I was determined to make sure that my One S was an S4 version. Given that its a pure gamble which
version you will receive when purchasing from a retailer, and the fact that the odds are now well stacked
against getting an S4 version anyway, I had to come up with a workaround for this problem.
My solution was to buy second hand, this way I could know the exact model I was buying beforehand.
To do this I singled out a potential purchasing candidate on Ebay and then sent a question to the seller asking
him to tell me the model number stated on the box. As long as this was Z520e, it was ok to purchase.
This I did and got it for about £250 (brand new on amazon they are £310).
Sorted. Or so I thought... On examining the phone I saw that the serial and IMEI numbers were different
to that which were printed on the box label. Either the phone had been put in the wrong box originally or
the phone had been out for repair and substituted for a different model. Either way it could now be an S3
or S4. I downloaded quadrant and ran the test, luckily it was an S4 Phew!
So for anyone wanting an S4 from Ebay, be sure to ask for the model number printed on the box and for
the seller to check that the serial numbers on the box match up to the phone.
I bought it in the same way but not second hand, a new one!

Can't you just check the box when the retailer brings it our of storage? the box clearly states the model number so you can tell easily, that's what I did!

You could do that, but round here it means paying about £400 for the privilege of buying from a store.
boot to bootloader!!!.if it says "ville" ==> S4 else ==> S3.
good luck!!
I got my One S from an online retailer for about 370AUD, which is just around the same as 370USD. It was specifically listed as a z520e, which made purchasing much easier.

[Q] Indication on box of software region?

I'm a Brit living in Kazakhstan. I plan to buy a Galaxy Note 10.1 locally, for use here and back in UK/EU.
The last tablet I bought locally, a Tab 7.7, continues to refuse to update its software, either through Kies or via the web. The software code - decrypted courtesy of XDA - revealed that the tablet was originally retailed in UAE. Hence apparently its refusal to update in a different region.
Is there a way to deduce the software region from the various codes on the outside of the packaging - i.e. without booting up the device and reading the software code?
Standard answer would be to flash the stock firmware through Odin for whatever country you want .
My box has no details of firmware neither has outside of the Note .
Boot on settings about device would have some details .

funny, cause my box has the region and firmware
I live in Australia. I have bought 5 of these little buggers for me, family and friends(N8000). None of them have the software version on the outside of the box....
The best you get is an IMEI number and a barcode number...
Double checked and only indication is GT_N8010 bought via retailer not a phone vendor .
jj
Just checked mine, got a label on the side that is very different to the one shown above.
But it does state GT-N8000ZWAXSG - Not sure about the ZWA, but XSG is spot on for UAE
Mine has model number on it, I also live in Australia. I think it depends on the retailer and what they put on there barcode.

New Samsung S7 trying to find what version it is.

Greetings All.
I have just got a refurbished samsung s7. I am trying to find out what the model of the phone is and am seeing a few conflicting things with the phone and the model numbers.
First off I am in New Zealand, I was expecting this to be the international version (the one thats common in nz) SM-G930F.
In the setting > about phone > Model number it is listed as a SM-G930F. This would make sense. However where it gets confusing is in oydn mode the phone model is listed as a SM-G930V and in CPU-Z app the phone is listed as a Verizon model and is using the Snapdragon 820 chip (not found on the F models).
I cant post links yet, but imgur with the id's below will have some screen shots of the phone and what im seeing.
Oydn Mode - /a/AxKfy
Other Screen shots of model numbers - /a/Mbo0Z
Thanks for any help
Common trick grey market sellers do, fake firmware to make it look like a 930F
Turn it off, then hold vol down + home + power until it boots into download mode. In there you should be able to get to phone information, and it will tell you the model info. Info in download mode can't be faked, and will be your real information.
Unfortunately so far from what you've said it's sounding like a faked US model.
Yep, probably the SM-G930V with firmware model number faked
As above, Download mode will tell you the real model
Very common trick to sell Snapdragon S7s as Exynos

LG K51 model number differences when buying repair kit

I have an older LG K51 with a cracked screen that I'd like to repair. According to "about phone" the model is LM-K500QM5 but all the replacement kits I've seen say they're compatible with:
LM-K500MM
LMK500UM
LMK500TM
K500QM7
K500QM
K500UMT
Nothing matches exactly. I was wondering if the the last couple of characters in the model number are provider specific.
Also, any recommended places to buy from?
Thanks

Question Do I have the global or U.S version?

I just bought a unit from eBay and unfortunately, it didn't come with the box.
I know it isn't the Tencent Games model because it isn't written on the back.
Looking in the Settings menu, the build number is RKQ1.201022.002.WW_Phone-18.0840.2107.151
Also, which bands would my phone support? I'm using it on T-Mobile in the U.S and not getting 5G. This phone lacks a band selection menu. I think I may need to to do root this phone and use Network Signal Guru to force band selection.
Looks like global rom. A quick 'fastboot oem device-info' should give you a country code that would point to which bands your device is likely config'ed for as a starting point.
There is multiple version of this device available. What version you see if you install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.andr7e.deviceinfohw&hl=en&gl=US application and look system tab.
If you root your device, I'm very interesting see your device log and list supported bands and combinations to https://cacombos.com site. You can find instruction to get log in https://cacombos.com/contribute .

I installed that app and it shows the model as "ASUS_I005DA" but under product as "WW_I005D"
The back is white, it has 256gb storage and 16gb of RAM and the back says "ROG" instead of "Tencent Games"
I have brazil Version 5s and is global

Then I think you have this version: https://cacombos.com/device/ASUS_I005DA . This version is Europe version I think and do not support well bands and combinations used in US. If you root your device could confirm this from modem log example.
I've been very interested in buying the US Ultimate version directly from Asus for the past several months because I had seen that the Tencent version of this phone of this phone had almost no compatibility with US carriers and I found no real clarity in third party product listings as to what version of the phone I would be buying. I've been back and forth with their customer service via email several times and they have been minimally helpful. I tried to get clarification on how to tell which version of the phone a seller has listed and a back and forth of about five contacts by me to Asus and I still don't have an answer. I've been doing a lot of digging online though and I found a page that specifies the different versions and their network band capabilities. I'll link this below. From what it appears, as long as you're not getting the Chinese "C" version, it doesn't appear that there should be any difference between the US version and global version bands. I am assuming that the non-US and non-China version, labeled "A" version, is what sellers are referring to as the "global" or "international" version.
https://rog.asus.com/phones/rog-phone-5-ultimate-model/spec > Network Standard
Unrelated, but my experience with their customer service has been poor to mediocre and the experience of trying to buy one from them directly has been a nightmare and I am almost so turned off by this experience that part of me doesn't even want to buy this phone anymore.
I would be interested in confirmation of your network bands though, too.
