Hello, I am on the official rom. Since rooting Google pay and Samsung pass stopped working, I tried everything. Is there a ROM that could fix Samsung apps (they're nice for biometrics in banking apps)? Also Google pay isn't working which is a pain and a half.
Knox and it's evil micro efuse are at the core firmware/hardware level of these devices. It's a tough order to bypass them.
Some have gotten at least some of the functionality back. Some solutions used for specific apps or on older models may be helpful to you.
Try multiple google searches with XDA in the search parameters.

There are multiple threads about it here on XDA.
I run across them from time to time. I'm not rooted so they are only a curiosity to me.
Google search is probably the most effective way to find things on XDA. " your search, XDA" usually does the trick. Try different search words and phrases, keep it simple.

The specific app you're trying to fix, maybe rooted banking app fix. If I stumble across one of those threads I'll post a link. Hopefully someone else here will too.

from what I understand googel pay gives no buyer protection for anything for any reason with the exception for a very short time refund on apps purchased because it benifts them to lure people into using their payment for apps, but why would anyone be concerned or want to use this over any other cash app?
I don't know about spam pay although I would guess they are the same kinda people. I would root just to rid my phone if these soulless (if that's a word lol) corporations money apps

was wandering around the internet last night and found an apk a lot like installous for the iphone cant post link for obvious reasons but i was wondering if they're any dangers to using it?
Well there is one by Jesusxxx I was using not to pirate the apps but just as a test, becaues I'm the kind of person that needs a few days to see if an app works in the way I need it.
However None of the repos work anymore at this point so I'm SOL. Anyways if it works see if you can post some repos for me.
I'm not sure if Xda condones the discussion of pirated wares though. Tread lightly my friend.

The chances of getting a virus on linux is very low. The chance on getting a virus on something linux-based is even lower. So in short there is really no chance of getting a virus. You have really nothing to fear except the government my friend

I know what you're talking about. I have this app and have used it to test out applications to see if they're worth their salt. Most of them are out fo date, and even list free apps you can normally get in the Market, and some are not even downloadable/workable anyway. It's all rather half-baked.
Anyway, I haven't had any problems using it or indications that it was malicious.

Its a third party market it can install and uninstall apks
I've found some apps on there that I can't find in the android market swiftkey is the one I remember for sure
aren't there other third party markets besides this black market?
I know theres Mikandi. Its a porn app store, but it sucks.

You may be able to get that software from the samsungapps.apk posted in the epic forum. I also know google has a tap pay system coming up.
I would be wary about this tho, I've seen a few places where people were able to hijack the NFC and capture data from it.

the security risks are ... well ... risky
but it is a very cool way of using tech. i have forgotten my wallet so many times yet always have my phone.
I do think it will be something to watch out for in the future.
i have a galaxy s2 with many free and paid apps on it. i wish to transfer ownership of the phone and all applications including paid ones to a friend so that he does not have to buy all the paid apps on it again.
i would think it is possible since i paid for use of them if i wish to give up use under my name and assign use to someone else using the same phone i should be able to. i cannot find a way to do this in play store or in appbrain.
does anyone have a clue how to do this or know where to point me for instructions?
i would have better luck contacting Abraham Lincoln than i would trying to contact google.
as it is the phone will probably try to self destruct once i change the gmail account it runs under so i want to have this in place in the stores so it can verify and re-get the apps if necessary without hassle since the stores would know that he owns the phone and apps..
any help would be greatly appreciated.

LOL might be.. they seem to think of everything i cannot believe they didn't think of this. transfer of equipment and associated 'licenses' is very common.

i admit i am not familiar with titanium backup. outside of restoring any odd apps onto the phone so they run again, would that list the paid apps withi play store so when he gets an update to an app they wont try to charge him again? i want his apps account to totally recognize the s2 and all apps as 'his' without question so they will not try to charge him for them. i will have no rights at all to those apps on that phone. i have a galaxy note that i had to pay for all the apps again for it which is as it shoudl be.. it is a different phone...
i want to hand him the phone set up for his account such that when he goes to do anything with play store or appbrain they will recognize the phone and all apps on it free and paid, as his.
It is not possible to transfer apps from one user to another. It isn't even possible to transfer them to a different Google account that you use.
Read the Google terms and conditions and you'll see this on there - nothing you can do about it.

thank you. no i have not read their drivel. so then they on one hand scream freedom from being locked to a specific provider, and turn around and lock the phone in a far more sadistic and restrictive way. what we need is a company who believes in total freedom and implements such. they are no better than apple then..

The only one solution is to put your gmail account on the phone of your friend. But of course he will have an access to all your mails etc, so I don't think it is a good solution !

no. i did that once a few years ago for someone i trusted. that person abused the trust and bought all kinds of expensive apps and used my gmail email account as their own. i had to close everything out and start fresh so i will never do that again.
there is no earthly reason why a phone and all its installed apps cannot be moved from one account to another except google's apparent need for control or laziness in coding the proper routines.

They may well use an Open-Source software for their devices, which is a fantastic thing, but they are a business and exist to make money. You don't 'own' the apps when you buy them - you are just getting the right to use them. Anything beyond that would be considered on-selling, even if you are making no money from it. Do you think that Apple would let you transfer apps to a different account? Or Microsoft for that matter?

when you pay for an app you pay for a license to use that app. there is no reason why you cannot transfer that license to another person as long as you give up all rights to use that license yourself. i have done this with many microsoft applications and they support it. or at least they did as of the beginnings of xp. i would give the original disks to the person, remove the application from my machine and then i called msoft and advised them of the license transfer. they took the info and were happy. apple simply is not a contender in this situation. they are all about control. even moreso than microsoft and i would never have believed i just said that. dont get me wrong they make some incredible hardware and systems, i just totally am at odds with their business philosophies.

I tried and download Android Pay, started using it and voila, I couldn't... I know Belgium is late to the party and searched to sign a petition, with all my surprise I could find any. So I made one myself! Please, sign the petition if you agree.

Never, EVERRRRR going to happen. They willl not let rooted/modified users have access to something that has all sorts of banking/credit card info on it. Never will this happen get that through your heads people!

Hello everyone. I decided to start this thread so we would have a new outlet to discuss root, not having it, and anything else that pertains to rooting the US Snapdragon variant (or any locked bootloader Snapdragon for that matter).
I for one do like root on Samsung devices. I feel that the services, logging, etc that Samsung puts on these phones is at best excessive, at worst, a violation of privacy. I use root o disable these services and anything that I don't believes warrants running in the background.
I also like to use host level ad blocking which can only be done with root (AFAIK).
So, the poll asks the question...

There was a thread before but it got locked, apparently we only have like 1 person working on root and that was then - don't know if that has since changed. I personally don't know much about the process and don't even know where to begin learning how to accomplish something like this. I offered help before but was quickly informed there was nothing I can do to "help" without vast amounts of this type of knowledge.

Nope, the only reason I used to root on all my phones was to get rid of the ads. Now with apps available to do the same, I don't feel the need to root.
I want root for xposed and/or magisk.
Otherwise to disable packages I use adhell 3 (no root needed) as I don't want to trip Knox yet...

Yes... I want to have control over the device. for privacy, customization, optimization, TWRP/Titanium backups, remove silly warnings, extend device life post mfg support, etc

You pretend like you some sort of developer and you know how to crack this system but when I asked you what you accomplished or even looked at you didn't really seam to have a clue. Also, someone working on root doesn't talk about it... They just do it.

Just because I'm telling you want you don't want to hear, doesn't mean I'm being rude. Did I call you any names? No I did not. I have been EXTENSIVELY working on rootting our device. Me and several (14) others started in telegram about a week or two after the device was released. Over time people left for Exynos, gave up, or went for other devices, leaving it to just me. And now I have moved on.
I'm letting you know that there are NO KNOWN BIG Devs working on rooting the snapdragon S9+. Is there someone working on it silently, that isn't known to this community/others, or has no previous exploit releases? I can't speak for that. I can speak for myself and others who were working on it, we are on to other projects now.
We put well over 200+ hours into it. Again, there's no way to fully "write up" what we all tried....We did all the OBVIOUS, and MORE. I have more important things to do with my time, than to write you a report as to what we did. Be glad you got this much of an explanation. The root was that much of a concern to you you would have been in the boat (telegram chat) since the beginning. Good luck on root, and good luck finding any andvanced developers to work on it for you.
TLDR: Keep praying for "Joe Schmo" to release root for you guys. There are absolutely zero WELL KNOWN developers working on it. SORRY IF IT'S BLUNT AND NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR.

Any variant. Its just a discussion about root despite what some of the more rude people on XDA think. Its just a place to talk about it.
I use Samsung Pay as my primary means of payment on a daily basis so much that if it wasn't for needing a physical drivers licenses I would just leave my wallet at home at this point. If Root breaks Samsung Pay then it's not something I would want.

Thats a real good point! I feel the same way. I have been thinking alot about a digital D/L that would be stored on your phone. If that could happen, I would no longer need a wallet. I think all but one of my credit and debit cards are on Samsung Pay.
I do really love rooting most specially for blocking ads, since non root adblocker used VPN to omit ads which compare to root can be easily add via hosts file without additional software/task (which obviously draining additional battery). also my wifi tools can be run via root only. and wanted to do more and it is only possibe via rooted phone.
though there is a rooting method already in here but seems i cant keep up on that much besides I cant use any pc for now. is rooting like flashing zip file possible as what older devices can be easily did? or way more easier rooting method than currently in here is way much better.

Root is a must! Phones these days are like computers and when I pay $$$ for a flagship phone, I expect I get "full control" over my device. Samsung Pay is "nice to have" but Viper for audio, Adaway, Titanium backup, TWRP are a must to enjoy my device to its full extent.
