Huawei P8 Lite - General Questions and Answers

My Huawei ALE-l21 cannot switch on. It blinks two green lights then 1 red, even when I try to enter safe mode no response. Is it dead dead? Nothing seems to work with it,zero response.

Take it to authorized service center and let them fix it.

Phone won't turn ON or Charge.

Hey there , i came to you because i think my phone done a short circuit, it was ON and pluged in an inactive USB port on my PC which i've plugged internaly just after.
Then i noticed that the low battery LED on the OnePlus doesn't blink anymore. First of all i thought about a complete discharge. But no charging LED. I've plugged the phone on the power adapter : No LED. This is when i started to freak out.
I've took appart the phone, removed the battery, mesured the voltage : 3.77 Volts. The battery is normaly 4.35 Volts.
Is it a big gap even if there is always a tolerance ?
Is my battery is dead ? Or something shorten the motherboard ?
I don't want to buy a new battery if this won't solve the issue, and i have no schematics to do a continious testing with my multimeter on the motherboard..
Any help is welcommed. Thanks.
I think you were too quick to take phone apart, you should have been keep the phone connected to charger for atleast 6 hours before taking it apart ..

Connect your OPO to Wall Charger, Charge it for about 10min or so. Press n Hold Power Button for at least 1min.
If nothing fancy happened to your phone than it should boot from dead. If not than think further.
BTW When you connect it to your pc, how's your pc recognize your device as?
Any QHSUSB_BULK 9006 Or 9008 error? If not than Its not Bricked yet. Just try to charge for 10min and check.

Do you have OnePlus drivers installed? Or Have you installed them previously?
There's no way Phone could go dead without any prior sign. I mean there must have been something happened to it before it gone dead brick!
What was last state when you saw it working beforeot went blank?

Of course my drivers are installed.... but the phone don't do anything when plugged, no charging LED, no reaction when i push the power button
Before he goes "dead" he has low battery.

Charging LED will only lit up while device is ON. If device was completely functional before it died, than I'm assuming it as Battery issues.
Did it ever got warm or hot near battery area? Since you've already took it apart to check voltages,so you know it better which area I'm talking about.
Most likely it could be Battery. If not anything major.

Okay so i got the phone to boot up. plugged it into usb : Phone don't got recognized. battery charging logo in status bar
Plugged to power adapter : Battery charging logo on status bar.
I noticed that the charge is incredibly slow. then i goes in parameters -> battery to check battery mode and stuff.
underneth the graph it says : 2% Not charging. But i got the logo on the status bar... ?
So here is a recap of the issues i got : Battery not charging, and discharging fast.
Not recognized by USB
No rear faced camera and flashlight.

hi, how did you get it to boot up? are you running the device directly from USB power? or is it running on battery?
Hold volume up, nothing else and connect it to your PC. After that check device manager and find "QHSUSB_Bulk. If you can find that one, send me a PM.

Remove charger and let the phone battery die, might take a long time depending on how much it was charged
Try connecting the white MicroUSB > USB adapter that came with the phone to something power hungry to drain it quicker
Power off you device and then wait 10 seconds. After waiting press and hold the Volume Up, Home, and Power buttons at the same time
After the phone vibrates, let go of the Power button, while still holding the other two buttons until Android System Recovery screen appears.
Using the "Volume Down" button, highlight "wipe cache partition" and press the Power button to select it.
After the cache partition is cleared, the Galaxy S7 will reboot automatically. This worked for me ans I hope this will help

Red LED should not show when charger is not connected though
Press power button plus volume up and down hold for 5 to 10 sec it will restart ur phone same thing happen with on s6 but not on s7.
I once had to press vol up and down, power and home (that's all buttons) at the same time for ten seconds for the S7 to reboot as it was stuck and seemingly dead. No led on at the time though. But I have disabled the leds in the settings anyway.
UPDATE!
The battery discharged completely(red led was off),first i tried to put it in download mode and IT WORKED!!! But the phone wouldn't turn on because the battery was 0%.I charged it and now it works fine :| I hope this was something software related and not hardware and i hope this will never happen again.Thx for the help guys!

I have the same issue... Tried to charge my phone with 15% battery and after a few hours it was 8%. Tried to reboot, charge with the phone turned off but nothing was happening ( not charging, not booting up. tried buttons combinations as well ). The led is not showing up on mine because i disabled it from the settings so i'm not sure if it's charging or not. Took the phone to an authorized service on friday so next week i'll be getting a response from them. By the way, the phone is only one week old :crying:

blocked on black screen

Hello,
Ive tried to look for a similar situation in other thread but each case is different so i open a new one.
This morning, when i took my idol 3 the screen did not switch off when pressing power button. I thought it was battery but when i plugged charger, nothing happened except the led is on continuously. I kept power button pressed for 10 seconds. The phone vibrates shortly but still a black screen, no sound and no reaction from the touch panel. Power+vol+ did not led me to my twrp recovery. What can i do now to get it work again? The phone is rooted with Rom Eu 4.2 from murigny64 and it is the first time i encounter this issu. Thanks in advance for helping me
Tonight i disconnected the battery for about 30min then connect it again. Then i tried to start in recovery: Just a vibration but no display and no sound. I unplugged/plugged the battery again and try to start. Same problem. What the hell could happen? Maybe a deffective hardware
Insist on boot ( normal or in to recovery with vol + and power).
That is a hardware brick.
Happened to me to some times, insist, it will unbrick

Can be, can be to... To bad if is battery.
But still trying to boot, is very difficult to.
.
thank you for advise but it's still not working. I spend about 30 minutes trying different combination of button: power pressed until it vibrate, power+vol up, power+vol down, power+vol up & down, discontinuous press of power with charger and no charger....and so on. Its a complete failure.
If it is the battery, there was no sign of weakness before (short life, random shutoff, ....) . It happen suddenly: I lock my screen before sleeping and the next morning no way to switch it on again.
I thought I would avoid problems for long with a twrp recovery, a backup and adb tools on my pc.....but for hardware issues its useless.
How can I be sure it is battery before purchasing another one ?

If it was the screen the touch panel would work and i could sense vibration when typing the pin code no?
The led bright continuously when i plug instead of flashing slowly as it used to do when charging. That why i think its battery.
...and when i start in recovery the phone is not detected on my pc
That's hardware brick. Don't give up, try to boot, normally or in recovery, keep trying it will boot.

Therefore the back can be dismantle and we can access battery and that s what i did.
Yes i disconnected it for several hours and pluged it again but it gave me the same result. And now it doesnt vibrate anymore when i keep the power button pressed a while.
I purchased a battery on internet and im waiting for delivery to test if im right or not. Il feedback about the test.
Anyway its nice from you to look for any solution. Thanks

I guess you did everything properly, so just one thing: at first time when I did this, I choosed the wrong cable (which didn't 'reset' the phone), so I hope you pulled both out.

Hello,
I received the new battery today.
So i unpacked it, i unplugged the old one and plugged the new one ...and guess what happened......the same bevahiour as with the old battery: when i press the button power, it vibrate but it doesnt start neither in recovery nor in normal mode.
I just precise that the new battery is charged at 50%........:crying:
So the problem is not the battery but it was the only thing i could test by myself before sending the phone to alcatel for repair.
Im still wondering what could happen to my idol 3: It had been woking perfectly for months and one morning with no warning, it refuse to switch on. Ok sorry for annoying us and hope it wont happen with yours.
I hope alacatel will apply the guarantee although the phone is rooted and bootloader unlocked....because its a hardware issue i think.
Hello,
Just to conclude. The phone got back from repair after 10 days. They have changed motherboard, battery and also the back that was damaged. Its a brand new phone .

j7 prime totally bricked, no download mode

need your help please.
my j7 prime is totally bricked, i mean, no recovery, no download mode even if press the 3 buttons combo for 5 or 10 minutes.
last thing i do was flash enigma 4.0 and it works but with the system ui fail (flash the screen over and over) so i restart a couple of times and 3rd of 4th time, the phone simply never boot again. screen black, no sound on the pc when i connect, not even a black screen.... totally bricked.

After so many restarts maybe your battery is flat? Maybe let it charge for a 2-3 hours before retrying?
Gonna try.
I already connected the phone to the power but less than 10 minutes because last time battery was on 60%.
Thanks for your answer... is a ray of light.

It may seem like it is dead and has no power if the device has crashed.

hi, is there anybody to find the solution? my device is the same. what should i do?

Hardware issues or software?

Hello all (Sorry if that's the wrong section to ask)
A friend of mine reached me and tell me about his parent Sony Xperia XZ3 encountering bootloop issue
This is the situation i observed about the phone
1. Hold on power button is not responding
2. When power is plugged(Including QI wireless charging), it is trying to boot, as long as Sony logo is showing up, it shutdown instantly
3. Only red indicator light showing during the boot
4. Holding Vol+ or Vol- while plugging to the computer is only repeating 2, unable to detect
May I know if anyone got such experiences with their phone previously? How it ends up?
If possible, may I know what causes it?
Much appreciated.
do a fullwipe. perhaps it was caused by an update.

I believe the phone no longer receive any update
plus, the phone itself is unable to connect to the computer or boot into any mode(Fastboot, recovery)
once it is connected to the power, few second after it is showing Sony logo(before boot animation), it will reset itself
it may be out of power. that might be the use of that red indicator light. usually bootlooping can drain the battery. leave it be a couple of hours.

You mean leave it bootloop for hours and it could works?
i mean the phone battery is probably dead right now. thats why is unresponsive. leave it charging over night. see tomorrow if the phone is responsive to your commands.
