Smartwatches supported by 8 pro's reverse wireless charging - OnePlus 8 Pro Accessories

Hey guys, I've upgraded from a S10e to the 8 pro and I'm loving it! An absolute beast of a smartphone, specially for the 330 euro price I paid for on Prime day.
My only complain so far is that the reverse wireless charging doesn't work with my Galaxy Watch Active 1st gen, so I'd like to know which Wear OS / Samsung Watches you guys managed to get to work.
Cheers!

Reverse wireless charging doesnot work on my OPPO watch too

I wonder if the Huawei watches or moto 360 3rd gen would work. Otherwise, eventually I'll go back to a samsung smartphone, that's a really useful feature in my opinion =/

That's unfortunate, thanks for testing! It's a shame because it's otherwise a good device, better than the 9 series IMO, specially after the throttling fiasco

How does this make any sense? That's ridiculous..
Lol isn't there a standard where they all work?
It's a missed trick from OnePlus in my eyes that

Camon OPPO is not working that is a shame... i was looking for some watches with option to work with such charging...

i think you can check on its battery parameter to see if it supports wireless charging or ask the customer before buying

Well the Huawei watch 2 doesn't do wireless charging AFAIK . Least if I stick it to my phone nothing happens.
I don't like this watch
I miss my mont blanc, which also didn't support wireless tings

Reverse charging works with my Huawei GT 2 pro!
It was a pleasant surprise when I forgot the charger while on holiday.
However, you do have to play with the alignment a bit and make sure everything stays putt.

[Q] MHL-MicroHDMI-Cable stopped working on a Note 3 possibly due to S6

Hello, everybody. Thank you for reading this.
My MHL-Cable worked perfectly before.
Now, the Note 3 says, that it detected the HDMI Cable. But the TV does receive no signal.
I already tried to make it run on multiple TV's. Before, all TV'S recieved a signal. Now not anymore.
The cable belongs to my little brother and he is going to kill me, if he recognised anything
But i know, what possibly caused the problem. I tried to connect the cable with the god -damn Galaxy S6, which is Samsungs ProjectZero Phone , where They have even removed MHL-Support! !!!!
I did put the cable into the S6. From that Moment, it possibly stopped working properly.
Now, my SGN3 still says "HDMI Cable connected"but the Tv stays silent.
Do you think that it is the fault of the S6? How cani fix it?

Any solution for your faulty cable? By the way, can i connect an external hdd to note 4, usb to micro usb cable?

Yes, the S6 is a Cr^pPhone.
The Processing Performance, Screen and Graphics Card is OK, but now, Samsung has nothing, which is really highly special.
Special things about phones:
Waterproofness (Xperia and S5)
USB 3.0 (Note 3 and S5)
Temperature Sensor (Sony and S4+Note 3)
S-Pen (Note-Smartphones)
Good User Interface and Many Features (Note 2 and Note 3)
AirTouch, AirView, TSP-Hovering (S4 and Note 3)
Many useful gimmicks (S4 and Note 3)
Replacable Battery (Samsung. Sure, Samsung has replacable battery. That was for sure, until the S6 came) (Now LG (G3+G4) is the only one with Replacable Battery.
Humidity Sensor
Options Key (is now sacrificed.)
MicroSD (Now HTC, Sony, LG. But not Samsung.)
...and they have even removed more! (MHL etc...)
At least it has Pulse and Fingerprint scan and USB-OTG.
Here is the S6 Disappointed Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/disappointed-s6-list-reasons-t3044369
It was a pleasure reading your comments, and it's a lot of sense in them.
Humidity sensor is also present in note 3, alongside with temp sensor. And don't forget about FM radio which they also stripped! I've missed that since my note 2 (i've owned note 2, 3 and now 4)
Yes, you're right, and I'm really pissed; the best overall experience I had was with my beloved note 2, a really excellent performer. Note 3 was a no go because of its sh#tty pics in low light.
Note 4 has good camera with ois, finally. But... is sadly missing many features from note 2 and 3, as you said. The spen is the only thing specifically to Samsung that's still there, and if ever another manufacturer picks the idea up and makes a mother of all phones WITH something similar to spen, I'll be the first to buy it.

Thank you very much for your answer. I really appreciate it.
Take a look at the LG G4. I hope the Note 5, not to be a note zero. I hope it, to have the old Galaxy logo again, not the new uglier one from the S6.
Actually, if you turn Intelligent Stabilisation on, and hold very steady, then your low light photos with the Note 3 will be much better. The Note 2's low light performance is also not the best.
But you're 1000% right. I really miss OIS on the Note 3. Also 1440p Video Recording is something that i miss. (Saves Space in comparisson to 4K, but is better than FullHD.)
I wish, that there would be one phone, which really has ALL features. ALL features from the older ones, not missing a single one.
If more features cost more space, why the hell don't they make phones with bigger space storages?
Also: S6 has finally slow motion, how i described it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/slow-motion-phones-device-how-to-imo-t2998500 - they have done that TOO LATE! (After pj.0 started.)
Project Zero means:
Zero Features
Zero Reputation
Zero Flexibility
Another thing: The Note 2 had such a beautiful waterful natural user interface. The S6 user interface is horribly ugly.
MHL was there since S2 GT-i9100 and Note N7000. Nobody would expect it to be removed, as it was very, very useful.
Advantages of MicroSD in comparison to USB-OTG are:
Does not reserve the charging port (but there's still wireless charging as alternative, but that's not very fast.)
It's inside of the device and does not affect the flexibility.
Myself, i could live with a Note 4, but i really prefer the Note 3, which has many more software features and sensors. And a much frendlier, lively User Interface.
But i miss Radio on my Note 3. I hope the Note 5, to be able to use the Radio without needing a headset.
The S6 destroyed my MHL-Cable. Twelve meters. Expensive.
I was shocked, when i saw this page the first time: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s6-6849.php - Samsung moved to the dark side. Horrible.
Also take a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/thickness-phone-to-batter-battery-life-t3133035
The S6 is thinner. Better? No, but thinner.
But flexibility and features are much more important than design. Theoretically, it is also possible, to have a good design in combination to the S6-Design. Isn't it?
Let's hope Samsung, to cancel project cr^p.

im hoping Samsung fixes this with future handsets, waiting for the note

another hefty pricetag. even if they add the microSDcard support they
would also need to go back to Qualcomm chipset, that alone for both
things to happen will be a gamble and the odds not looking good. im
seriously considering xiaomi note pro or a xiaomi product at this point,
xiaomi is up and coming, once it hits the states it will be up there in
known brands, Hugo Barra (former vice president of GOOGLE, yes he helped
Google big time get where there are) is now in charge of Xiaomi and
Xiaomi is not disappointing. Just wish Xiaomi would incorporate the

My little brother
This cable originally belongs to my little brother.
It was very expensive. The S6 is really a big zero.
Because IF my little brother finds out anything,
he'll crossify me.
Thank you very much, S6.
I will die in the hospital due to ProjectZero.
For everybody, who understand the German language:
Das S6 ist ein unfähiges missgeburt-Handy. Samsungs größter "Ausrutscher", viel mehr ein Unfall.
Das S6 ist eine elende Schande für Samsung mit samt aller Fans.
I simply can't believe that the S6 ruined the MHL-Cable!
Business?
The Note-Smartphone must stay a BUISNESS-Smartphone with USB 3.0 and the other things.
An S6-Like Note 5 is not good for buisness anymore. No Temperature sensor and many things from the Note 3 are missing too!
MHL was also good for Business. The Note 5 will also destroy your MHL, if they use the same losercharger port like the S6. Well, fast charging is good. But MHL is better sometimes.

Smartwatch Suggestion

So i'm currently wanna get a smartwatch and I wanna get the Samsung gear fit 2 but I heard that the gear fit 2 is really picky and will not compatible/connect to the N6P, is it true? If it is then which smartwatch/smartband should I buy? I'm open to suggestion from you guys.
Thank you
I have the Huawei smartwatch and I had a lot of other smart watches but the Huawei watch is perfect I get two days battery life and it has a speaker. I would recommend byou don't root it because getting out of root is well annoying.
I love my Martian Notifier, but it might not be what you're looking for. It's much more of a notification assistant than a smartwatch. Basically notifications get forwarded to your watch so you don't have to pick up your phone to see what's making your phone ring or buzz, but if you want to do anything about it you'll have to pull the phone out to respond. Upside is it looks much more like a normal watch than the others (they're more like a second screen on your wrist with simpler apps, this is a watch with a ticker and vibration motor) and that the battery lasts about 5 days or so before needing recharging (the rechargeable battery is for the notifications only, there's a separate watch battery for the time-keeping part). Lastly, it's dirt cheap compared to the Gear Fits of the world...
I have a Pebble Time and Pebble Time Round, both of which work really great on my 6p. Battery is great, functionality is great, and overall doesn't take a big toll on my battery.
Huawei watch works a treat!
Since Motorola, Huawei, and LG have all stopped making watches. I would not get one until the rumored "Google" one comes out and wait to see if it's good or sucks. If its good get that one. If it sucks then I wouldn't get one at all since Smartwatches are kinda dying out.
The Huawei Watch is the best. No doubt about it. The sapphire crystal itself is a tiebreaker.

I'm using Asus Zenwatch 2. Perfectly pairs without an iota of issue. Battery backup of 2 days. All notifications including weather, pedometer etc., are bang on.
I have the Ticwatch 1 and it works well, never misses a notification, one day of battery life with the screen on time turn up to 30 seconds. Installed modded huawei watch firmware. I think the huawei watch has a better battery though.
I have been using the Asus Zenwatch 3 for about a month now. It works perfectly with my 6P running Nitrogen rom. The watch itself has a microphone, speaker and most sensors. The only thing that it lacks is gps which most likely would only drain the battery anyway. I can get two days use without charging easy.

Huawei Watch 2 will launch at MWC 2017

I was hoping it would be an improved classic version of the Huawei Watch. One we could use with a suit and tie. In my opinion we already have enough sporty smartwatches.
Yes, I feel the same.
First pictures of the new watches Huawei 2
Oh **** it's ugly :/
Too sporty. That was my fear. I hope that the 1st gen at least comes down on the price. I want want but 200 bucks is my limit.
Do those pins mean that it will lack wireless charging?
Will it inherit charger position problem?
The watch itself looks like LG Watch Sport with Samsung Gear S3 bezel.
I, too, was hoping that the new Huawei Watch 2 would be an improved version of the Watch 1. Similar looks but perhaps thinner with an improved display and guts. Although I'm sure they'll sell plenty of these watches, I agree that the market probably doesn't need more 'sporty' smartwatches. There's plenty of them already. On the plus side, perhaps this means that Huawei will continue to manufacture, sell and support the Watch 1 as it appears it is still, in my opinion, the best looking 'classy' Android Wear watch available.

Totally agree. But regarding thickness Today I finally had the chance to see a Huawei Watch 1st gen in person and its not thicker that my Moto 360 1st generation. My main motivation to upgrade from my Moto 360 1st generation, which I paid 160 euros one year and a half ago, is looks (even though I also like the classic versus futuristic look of my Moto) but specifically battery life. Besides not having a true ambient Mode, even with it off sometimes I don't get to the end of the day with battery life and when listening to music directly from the smartwatch my battery lasts half and hour or 45min. Is the Huawei better in that department?
Cheers
I've had both (360 1st gen) and now the Huawei Watch for a long time. The difference is HUGE! The Huawei Watch always out last my phone (Xperia Z3, easily the horrible S6 Edge Plus, S7 Edge and Mi Mix).
The OLED display makes it no problem to have the ambient mode activated at all times. The screen is 1,4 inch, perfect since 42mm is the biggest a wristwatch can be unless you're a rapper or a used car salesman. The dpi is still best on the market. It could be slimmer, but it's OK. Worth it for the battery life. Even if it doesn't charge at night (the charge-connection can be unstable) it usually last until I'm home from work.
Do I like it? Yes. It's easily the best smart watch on the market. The reviews saying Gear S3 or Apple Watch are very very wrong.
So I figured the only watch to eclipse the Huawei Watch would be the Huawei Watch 2... Guess not.

I've found that the estimate Huawei provides of 1.5 days to be fairly accurate. As long as I use an OLED-friendly watch face (mostly blacks), I typically have 35% power or so remaining after a long day. I'm not too sure about battery drain during music playback but I'm sure playing music over Bluetooth or via the speaker would drain the battery at a significantly faster rate.
I agree with thklinge. With the cold-forged 316L stainless steel casing, sapphire crystal and 400x400 OLED display, it's easily the best smartwatch on the market to this day.
Leaks.

Plastic is fantastic. Looks like cheap Chinese kids watch
I don't understand why the price of the 1st generation Huawei Watch is still so high, even after more than a year of being released... ?
It's the best smart watch on the market. Why give it away?
I've heard some sources say it will have NFC, some not. Will it or won't it? If it does, it's in the running. If not, I'll be leaning towards the Verizon Wear 24. I wanted the LG Sport but it's a bit too thick and sporty for me

After 4 years, my mediapad is dying :(

Well after 4 years, It's finally on its last legs. It's been a brilliant phone. Time for a upgrade but not sure what to get.
I'd love another phablet, but they're not really practical for what I'm doing right now.
I've become a avid gym goer recently, and need a phone that can take awesome pictures, love taking pictures. Maybe have wireless charging (because I've gone through around 12+ cables so far with this phone.) also headphone jack or good bluetooth for a headset. What would you guy's suggest to upgrade to?
Although the Honor note 10 looks like a decent upgrade for the Huawei mediapad x2, but my god its like £700.

I'm in the same boat but mine is still alive although always very low on storage due to massive APK and ODEX file sizes that I keep deleting.
I also want to upgrade very much so but FOR ME, every phone these days has a 18.7:9 aspect ratio at best which is basically shaped like a hotdog. None of the newer phones have a screen wider than 3.1" which is annoying considering the X2 screen width is 3.7".
The closest phone I have found is the one that @ajsmsg78 has which is the Huawei Mate 20 X which looks to be a beast and I wish it's screen width was just half an inch wider. Also note that many phones not originating From North America such as the Mate 20 may not have LTE bands in USA. In Canada where I am LTE works with my carrier.

Definitely check out the Mate 20 X. I've had mine since November and it's probably the best phone I've ever owned. It has full LTE support on AT&T and T-Mobile. It's a 7.2 inch screen but it's not that big. Here are pics of them next to each other.
That looks like a good upgrade for sure. Just wonder why they haven't made a newer version of the x2.

The Chinese version of the Mate 20 X is on AliExpress for $569.99. It has dropped in price so it's a good time to think about buying one. I paid $899 for mine in November when it was released. Quite a few of us X2 users have switched to the 20 X.
Bought a pocophone F1, turned it into the pixel 3.

Question Pixel 7 pro to replace my S22U , am I crazy?

Hello I received a confirmation from my usual shop that the S23U will be "at least" 200$ more than the S22U when it was released, which is way too much for me. So now I am contemplating (again) the Pixel 7 Pro . Am I crazy to be willing to replace my 1 year old S22U with a Pixel 7 pro ? Anyone here did the same and is happy or regret the move ? Also some practical question: can you see briefly a message when receiving one on the AOD like on Samsung
I like my 7 Pro very much for the Pixel ONLY features like call screening. I really don't care about cameras. I do NOT like how Samsung forces its native apps and BIXBY down a persons throat. However, you are asking about a good powerful phone that I imagine you like and that is ONLY one year old! Now if it was 3 or more years old I would say to get the 7 Pro. But at one year old I am not sure what you might gain? In fact you might lose a few things you like while gaining a few you don't have now. So YMMV.
Depends on what you need out of a phone. If you didn't use any of the s22u features like 10x optical zoom, the pen, the ability to connect to more than one Bluetooth device/speaker simultaneously ,multi window multitasking, screen mirroring, the far superior game playability..... then the 7pro is an awesome alternative. Once all the bugs were ironed out that is. It does all the little things better than any other android phone. The voice recognition on it is unbelievable. Much less bloatware. I can't imagine wanting another home outside of the galaxy ultra phines. And I went from an s22 ultra to a z fold 4 (which I had for maybe a month) to the 7 pro. Obviously I'm getting the S23u but that just cause I've got some weird mental condition.

No. This was annoying coming from OnePlus where they integrated full screen message previews into the AOD. The Pixel just takes you to the lock screen when you get a message. I got a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic a week ago and I'm loving it for the ability to preview my messages without having to touch my phone. Didn't realize how much I missed that from the OnePlus.

Lol I think many of us here can relate to that sickness. I'm fighting with myself about the S23U too.

Did you try custom roms?
I wonder if they add this option

I haven't tried them yet. Honestly have been pretty happy with my Pixel and I hate the idea of having to wipe my phone since I'm on the beta.
Why won't you just skip the S23 and save your money for the S24?

I am a bit tired of samsung OneOs , it does have negatives and the Ultra body is beginning to be very weighty.
I have had this dude but replacing note 10+ with Pixel 6 pro , I believe I would badly miss the SPen ... Apart from the pen as lo g as I am able to connect my Galaxy watch to the pixel I dont see any other inconvenience...

You can definitely do this. There is even a modded Samsung Health Monitor APK to get all those features if you use them.

Still will miss the SPen and its air gestures and onScreen functions, use it daily...
I have both phones... Just can't switch to the pixel. Even though it is damn good, fast and running Android 13.
I will probably sell both and get S22U

I'm doubtful I'll even use the S-Pen if I get the S23U. Note 5 was the last Samsung I had and I used the S-Pen hardly ever.
I wanted the S23U to have a modem with updated bands that the Pixel 7 Pro doesn't support (lower 3.45GHz n77 for AT&T as well as n26 and n70 for Dish) but word is the S23U doesn't support n70 either so I'll probably just keep my Pixel unless Samsung offers a really attractive price or trade in (seems unlikely).

Hi. I made the same change that you indicate and very happy.
For me this Pixel 7 pro is a great phone.

This is why I went with the 7 Pro. I had the 22 Ultra for almost two weeks and just could not get used to the boxy feeling and overly curved screen. I had a 21 Ultra before that for almost two years and a Note before that so I was getting really tired of OneUi as well. I'm very happy with the 7 Pro and what I paid for it. The 23 Ultra is too much like the 22 so that's off the board for me.
I don't have an ultra but I do have an s22 plus. I also have the Pixel 7 Pro. Between the two I use the Pixel now almost excellent and I don't miss the Samsung or it's gimmick features.
Everyone has a different opinion and use case. The s pen is an advantage in certain situations if you don't have a tablet and need to sign legal documents. Otherwise on a small screen I don't see any real use for it.
The edge panels and Dex are things I will never use because I have other devices that fill in the gap.
I really hate all the bloatware on Samsung devices since time immemorial. Apps that you can't disable or uninstall, 3rd party apps preinstalled and of course the numerous duplicate apps. Then there is Bixby. Completely unnecessary and useless but you don't have a choice to get rid of it.
Despite all of the hate I have towards those things I like Samsung and the integration between PC, tablet, phone and watch. Very similar to Apple. I like Samsung back ups. I like some Samsung apps. I like the hardware on Samsung probably the best of any Android device out there.
So I am always torn on Samsung devices.
Considering the price of the Pixel 7 Pro and features it has everything I need and nothing I don't. Sure, there are a few Google apps I could live without but in general it is as close to software perfection that you can get on Android. Although the hardware is not as good as the Ultra it is really good for the cost. I also like the direction Google is taking with Tensor. Less about maximum performance that most phones throttle anyway and more about sustained performance and AI.
I have felt the 7 Pro is really good in terms of stability and reliability compared to previous Pixels which is a huge factor for me. The cameras are some of the best, certainly the best I have used on a smartphone, the screen is calibrated perfectly and just an absolute pleasure. The battery life is good enough and performance has been seamless. The UI and animations super smooth and pleasing. The modem to my surprise has been excellent.
I got this phone on sale and at less than the cost of the regular s22 MSRP it is simply hard to beat. Add Pixel exclusive features and feature updates and fast updates and it is one of the best phones out there.
Samsung s23 ultra will have better hardware for sure but does that translate into a better user experience is something only each of us can decide. I too, am extremely tempted by the s23 ultra but the cost of that phone is pretty crazy to me. Almost double what I paid for my Pixel 7 Pro and I can say with certainty that it is not double the phone!

So do I but that can be dealt with using by using ADBAppControl.
Can't remove bloatware is no longer a thing.

Well it is hard to know what can be removed and what will mess up the OS. Can you remove Bixby or some other Samsung software without causing issues? I have seen lists that say what is safe to remove and they conflict each other.
It would be nicer if Samsung simply allowed you to choose at setup what apps you want installed and what you don't without forcing your hand or hacking the OS. Just my opinion.
S22U to P7P would be more like moving sideways. Definitely not an upgrade, but not necessarily a downgrade either.
If i were you, i would just see what world offer in next 6 months instead of spending the money now.
