Hi guys,
this morning i have a strange issue on my oneplus 7. The screen turned off, then it won't turn on again, the only thing on the screen was a little "pixel" flashing at the top center of the screen. I keept the power button pressed to turn off the phone, and after a bunch of seconds the screen turned back on (the phone was still on).
After that, i frequently see a flashing window that looks like a crash notification for some app, but it is so fast that i can not read what is related on... This window keeps popping out every few minutes (or seconds) but the phone seems working as alwatys. I've tried rebooting with no luck. There's no way to see some kind of log to check what app is crashing? The phone is consuming a lot of battery now (30% in the last 2h) and looks like Google Play Services has used almost 25% of battery.

I was using an app on Sunday, when the app froze completely and the screen of the s3 went black. The only thing I could see was the status bar up top, but even that was unresponsive. So I pulled the battery and turned it back on, and it was acting extremely slow so I got impatient and started trying to get into settings, when it went unresponsive again.
This time I held down the power button to see if I could get it to respond and the lock screen came up, without my wallpaper and instead of Verizon Wireless at the top, it said "No Service". After a couple of seconds my wallpaper showed up and then it said Verizon Wireless. After I get through the lock screen, I would go through the same whole routine - e.g. try and get into settings, freeze, hold power, have it come back up, etc. So I battery pulled again.
Finally, I got it to boot OK, by just letting it be for 10 minutes and completely ignoring it.
However, today my battery drain was pretty fast, it was on for 12 hours and was down to 40% after only 30 minutes of screen time. The culprit was "Android System" at 61%, i've never seen this that high before. Because of the high "Android System" power usage, I thought it might be good to power it down. Upon boot up, I assumed I'd be able to use it immediately, so I started going into Settings, and yet again it went unresponsive.
Are the two issues unrelated? What should I do?
As a warning, I'm extremely new to anything smarter than a Nokia brick, so be patient - Thanks!
As inconvenient as it is, I would recommend a full system wipe and go back to out of the box. That seems to fix everything and unfortunately it is rather difficult to diagnose issues on phones, especially unrooted.
In order to do a wipe you can do one of two things, goto settings then backup and reset, then hit factory data reset.
-OR-
Turn off the phone. When you start it again hold volume-up, power, and home to get into recovery. Then do the factory reset.
Ok, I thought that's what my option was. Thanks dwibbles.
I got a used HTC sensation XE with audio beats, with WiFi not working (GB was installed). Wifi & Teathering services always remained on "Error" when wifi turned on. Bluetooth, SIM services all were doing good. Used it in this condition for 2~ days, all went fine exept I once found it powered off while it was on wall charging.
Then I upgraded it to ICS downloading Stock ICS ROM from this thread. Which was isntalled successfully and the WiFi started to work.
It worked fine for 2 days, except my phone restarted on its own once or twice. At that moment i was using 340 MB of internal storage for apps and 750 was free. One night i was playing "Cut the Rope" and my phone prolonged a game sound and turned off, I removed battery and replaced it and turned on, but nothing happened, it remained off. Attached it to charging but no response. I left it there and after about an hour charging light turned on and it powered on.
From that moment, Phone often shows message "Low Storage Space", Hangs and then turns off. And fails to turn on again, sometimes for 24 hours. I did a "Factory Restore" from boot loader (power + voluem dwn), but its still behaving same.
Lattest: It turns on by pressing power button for 20 to 30 sec. Sometime goes upto lock screen and turns off, sometimes turns off on first screen and most of the times dies at audio-beats screen (after or before change is screen brightness). Remains dead for some time then again to same position.
Any expert openion/ experiance/ etc....
I don't have option of replacement. What to do? :crying:

But it never turns off just sitting at the bootloader or fastboot screen? Doesn't turn off while doing a factory reset? Only when trying to load software and activate hardware booting into the OS?

Yes it didn't turned off sitting idle in bootloader. But it completed its factory reset in 3 restarts; 1st right after loading stock, 2nd configuring apps 10/36 and 3rd at 23/36. Then 4th time it died on fresh Lock Screen.
NOTE: I removed SIM, SD Card in the very beggining of the problem.

I would try replacing the battery... it's about all that's left as it appears your phone is locked and more or less all stock..
Cuts down your options for things. Any sign of moisture exposure?

Haven't tried out any other battery, I tested it on voltage meter and it showed ok, BUT you have got a point; I must check it with some other battery of working phone.
Moisture:: Well there was Mist/ Fog a few days back but mostly I stayed at warm place + I kept it in fromt of fan heater after ealry episodes..
I factory reset my phone and during the process of signing in, agreeing to T&C's etc, a strange problem started occurring - the touchscreen became super unresponsive (had to press something three of five times for it to respond), however, at the same time, the phone would quickly vibrate on touch multiple times, but again, not actually do anything. Moreover, a weird blue text box started appearing around the options I touched and I can't swipe down to access the normal settings menu.
And to top it all off, if I long hold the power button to force restart/power off, it just won't do it. (tried the old "turn it off and on" trick to see it'll do the trick)
Everything was all normal until this point, had my phone for a couple of months, haven't dropped it or anything. Does anyone know why this is happening, and if so, how to fix this?
Thanks so much in advance!

In fact, I can't swipe at all ... in the app drawer if I swipe, it just goes to the next app , instead of the next screen.
In the few weeks since I got the marshmallow update, I've only seen this twice, and I just wonder if it is another marshmallow bug that others might have seen?
The screen will be turned on, looking perfectly normal, but nothing will respond to touch.
I'll hit the power button to turn it off then back on, and I immediately get a dialog popup telling me the app isn't responding and asking if it should be killed. If I say kill it, everything goes back to normal. If I say "wait" everything stays frozen (but the dialog box at least responded to me saying "wait" because it goes away).
This seems to be related to waking up. It happened once when a 3rd party alarm clock app sounded an alarm to wake the phone (which usually doesn't work at all on marshmallow, but that's another bug). It happened a second time when I turned off the screen then immediately thought "Wait. I want to check something" so I turned it back on nearly instantly.
It is like sometimes it wakes up and forgets to connect the touch events to the app.
The first day allready 2 times black screen out of no where and afther that no reaction on any buttons.
The first time i waited 10 min or more then the S7 reacted normal again.
The second time i pushed the buttons....
The only reaction is when i press the same time: powerbutton, homebutton & volume button down.
Has anyone the same problem?
I had that issue once with the home button. I had to schedule a reboot through the craptastical built in scheduler that is says it is supposed to optimize the device. Search for restart in the settings.
I have the same sort of problems. All in all the s7e seems very buggy to me. Random crashes (especially in oculus app), sd card is sometimes not recognised and after most reboots I get two error messages (one about touchwiz and one about system proc). I'm not sure what is going on.
My wife's is a black too. I had a similar issues with my s6 last year it was the brightness had been swiped to low in my pocket, I was able to barely see the screen in a dark room and turn it up. No such luck with her s7. Hope someone can offer an idea, I'm headed to Verizon later if I can't fix it myself.
S7 black screen
Verizon did a reset for my wife's S7 to fix it hold down volume down, right side button, and the button on the face of the phone together for 15 seconds. The phone came right back on with all apps and stuff intact. Hope this helps, they said this wasn't the first S7 to come back like this they think it's a software glitch.
Im having the same problem....

Try turning off the App Power saving mode!! This fixed the black screen problem on my phone.
I've got the same issue (sometimes 4 times in an hour, sometimes it doesn't happen for 2 days..!!).
I've tried fixing by doing a factory reset and turning app power saving mode off.
Unfortunately this did not fix the problem. Yesterday I got an unresponsive blackscreen again :crying:
Any ideas how to fix this problem?
This happened two days ago with my wife's S7 Edge. She was using it to text me about dinner plans after work, her screen shut off, and it wouldn't work for several hours. The thing was getting very hot. When she was home and charging the phone the screen started working again for a little while, but with several green stripes down the right edge snd aa flashing horizontal band of grey near the top overlaying the screen image. Then when I tried plugging it into my computer to use Samsung's Smart Switch to roll back from the update she had accepted while at work the screen died again. It has not come on since, not even the stripes, and blue or red LED lights once in a wwhile at random. I managed to use Smart Switch to wipe the phone's memory. Then the program took several hours to download something very slowly and install that - a whole new OS update? That completed, and now the charging LED works correctly and the green stripes and grey band are back, flashing rapidly when powering on. Otherwise no screen function. She is shopping for a new non-Samsung phone now. Ridiculous.
