Hi,
I'm looking for a solution to root Huawei Mate 20. I couldn't find much on web search about this topic.
I am also not able to find a way to install TWRP or unlock boot loader.
Any ideas?

My phone got an update about a week ago. The details didn't mention Anything about boot loader unlocking but when I checked after the update, there was the ability to unlock the bootloader.
I have already opened the developed settings since november but the bootloader unlock option was greyed out and could not be turned on. I read a post from a different thread that his phone recently got an update with the option to turn on the bootloader unlock option. I have been regularly checking for update since I read that post and so last week I finally got it. I am now able to toggle the switch but I did not finish the process because I want to make sure it doesn't cause any warranty issues. I have been a Samsung user and I am very familia with the "warranty void 0x1" issue so I always waited until my warranty was over before rooting my phone. That way everythung has been tried and tested before I take a leap. If you do get the update please post your experience in unlocking the bootloader and eventually rooting your phone.

Maybe try kingroot? If it gets the job done on the pro version it might do it here as well.

patch recovery_ramdisk.img in latest magisk manager canary build, and flash the patched_boot.img to recovery_ramdisk through fastboot - voila, you are rooted now, you just have to boot to recovery afterwards (will start to system anyway).
I could also upload my patched recovery_ramdisk.img if you want. Would work for you aswell.

EDIT:
sorry, now found your post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-20/how-to/guide-manual-updating-firmware-t3892686
so only way to get root it's paying for bootloader code?

Did you test it on EMUI 9.1 Roms?
Seems it doesn't work. I tried patching using the Canary build mentioned above and even used 19.0.
Neither of them worked, The end results is a bootloop.
Any ideas ?

There is info about root EMUI 9.1 for mate 20X on XDA. "[GUIDE] Root AL00 EMUI 9.1"- https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-20-x/how-to/guide-root-al00-emui-9-1-t3938483. You need Ramdisk for your device and patche it. Also it is possible to extract Ramdisk from full firmware. Now i have a problem to download full firmware for my phone - HMA-L29 9.1.0.310(C10E10R2P1). I tried https://support.halabtech.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=folder&id=35991 but it is impossible to download zip file. Is there another way to get this firmware?
Look this thread, the firmare was upload in google drive.

Thank you! Downloaded from https://support.halabtech.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=file&c=download&id=149496 at last.
Now I have root root for HMA-L29, 9.1.0.300(C10E10R2P1) through Magisk 19.4 (Magisk Manager 7.3.3 ). I had root for 9.0.0.245 with the same Magisk. Downloaded firmware HMA-L29 9.1.0.310(C10E10R2P1) from https://support.halabt…e&c=download&id=149496 , extracted RECOVERY_RAMDIS.img, copied to mate 20 9.0.0.245, patched by Magisk. File is magisk_patched9.1.img. It can be downloaded from https://drive.google.c…Jq_6WNOxgdY5nK4VxLHE86. Then flashed RECOVERY_RAMDIS.img from 9.0.0.245 by adb, updated to 9.1.0.300(C10E10R2P1) and flashed magisk_patched9.1.img by adb. That's all.

Could you give a short tutorial of how you did that? Did you have to unlock bootloader?
I guess that unlocked bootloader is required to flash boot image, but I hope to be wrong

Well I wouldn't root a Dev Preview if I was you, it may be really unstable.
For the root, there's a general method. Once your Bootloader is unlocked you have to extract the boot.img from the zip you flashed to update your phone to DP3 and patch it with Magisk. Here's a video about that:
There is some that has successfully rooted op8 Pro but I have tried every method that I know on op 8 including patching os11 boot.img with Canary and stable magisk, flash through Chinese twrp (twrp boots but cannot decrypt) and even fastboot flashed a op8 Pro boot. Img but I've not been successful as of yet.. have asked around in telegram also.. seems magisk sees os11 as os10 or something like that.. root will come in sure
Edit: I now have root on op8 DP3..

Hello,
I have scoured the forums ever since the update to try and get back to where I was, with TWRP, and a rooted phone. TWRP is not as important as root is.
I saw that there is a way to get root if following these instructions:
Rooting OP7 Pro OOS11
Where can i find instructions to root my phone having Android 11?
forum.xda-developers.com
However, are there any specifics or edge cases I need to be aware of? For example, if I am on the newest update versus the first beta update that rolled around a few months ago? At what point on Android 11 and OOS 11 do these instructions not work?
And I was wondering if someone can please provide some links to make it a bit easier for me (of the boot.img file and other things?), I actually leave the country in a week and so I really want to get this done before I leave, it would really make my life easier
Is there a way I can root without wiping my phone? And if I have to wipe, is there an app similar to Titanium Backup that's reliable that I would be able to use without root and restore some important data of apps?
Thank you!! Any help is appreciated

It's pretty simple. You just need to make sure you flash a patched boot image from the same build your device is on. The OP7 Pro forum is not very organized, and most of the available boot images are gdrive links buried in threads.
If you just so happen to be using the T-Mobile OP7 Pro, then I can help you. Otherwise you'll need to search around for a boot image for your device.
If you can get your hands on a stock boot image, you can copy it to your phone's SD card and use the Magisk Manager app to patch it. It will put the patched boot image in your phone's downloads folder. copy that to your PC and then use fastboot to flash it to your active boot partition

Yes it is. The boot image linked in this thread is exactly what you need. Flashing boot will not affect your system image or user data.

So after I download this boot image, I flash it using fastboot?
Because TWRP isn't available right?
Then after that, what do I do to root it?
Download the latest magisk?
Do I download the apk or flash that too using fastboot?

Hello, I was experiencing the same problem.
To get back to normal boot, just restore the oroginal boot.img via fastboot.
Code: fastboot flash boot boot_ori.img
I am still searching how to root this Xiaomi 11T .
Thank you veri much
im working on a Umidigi A7 Pro. having the same problem with bootlooping after flashing the patch via Smart Phone Flash Tool v5
from what ive read, there seems to be a bug in the newer versions of magisk. in my digging, i remember reading about a specific, older version of magisk that reportedly work, with my device anyway. i cant find it again, and dont remember which it was.
if you figure it out, post back so i can try on the umidigi. if i have any luck, ill do the same.
EDIT:
here are some resources. links to older versions of magisk.
Download Latest Magisk zip v23.0 and Magisk Manager 8.0.7 and Root your phone
On this page, we will share the full instructions to download and install Magisk zip on your Android Phone. This tutorial is also for the newbies/noobs

Rooting a phone's Android OS has to be done on OS level, not on phone's bootloader level.

Technically spoken rooting Android OS simply is to add a binary called SU to Android's filesystem, nothing else.
Fastboot operates on a phone's bootloader, not on phone's Android OS.

I have the exact same phone as you.
I used this post to root: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rooting-oneplus-nord-2-ce-lite.4500297/
Didn't run into any problems
I have bricked this device (One Plus Nord CE 2 Lite) by flashing the unofficial twrp image for this device. Device bootloops in TWRP.
Previously, I had succesfully unlocked the bootloader and rooted this device by flashing the patched magisk boot.img by following the method mentioned in this post (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rooting-oneplus-nord-2-ce-lite.4500297/)
How to restore the factory image and recover from this?
Any help is appreciated.

Sir, If you have patched magisk boot.img and blank vbmeta.img files on your pc used previously for rooting this device, this will save you your precious time.
Flash the files to their appropriate partitions, the device will overwrite the partitions and boot back with root access.
If you have updated the device after root and flashed magisk to inactive slot for saving root access after OTA the above method won't work.
Installed official version.
But i need twrp for this device.
Any one installed??
Sir, TWRP image available for this device is experimental, unstable and buggy.
There is a problem that occurs when you flash twrp if you are rooted.
After flashing the device bootloops into TWRP and won't boot into system OS even if it's forced to reboot.
Even without root if flashed, twrp cant flash or wipe any data.
On the screen the errors are shown in red.[failed to mount ' / ' ](Invalid Argument)
Let's wait until a stable image is available for this device in the near future.
Thank you .
I want pixel experience on nord ce 2 lte
If any one installed . Please guide me
...pixel experience doesn't work on Nord 2 CE devices ...none of the functions are compatible with this device ...I tried more than one configurations by myself ...the few things you can get working, like Contacts App or Messages App, you can manually download and install from APKmirror or other sources ...no need to "module" these little things
...I would like to change the boot animation, for example ...but to be honest, how often and how long do you see the boot up screen???
i again damaged the os.
This time every thing not working.
it boot loops to fastboot.
Any help ?? @DerDoktore
Is there any msmtool for nord ce 2 lte
...Bootloop to fastboot???? ...that is new to me ...I know the "system damaged" Screen and a traditional Bootloop ...does it "break" the loop at fastboot??? ...or do you see half a second the fastboot screen and restart and again???
