Okay so my phone is bootlooping and it basically says that /boot/ is unmountable. I can still boot into Download mode and use odin, so is there anything i can do to just reset the phone entirely or something?
The phone is a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) if you're wondering (probably not)

You can simply install the stock firmware of your device. The process is extremely easy.

its not a null imei bug im afraid, i already tried that. Im pretty sure its because the /data volume is GONE
Try using cf autoroot. This will root the phone, but it sometimes also solves partitioning issue

should i do it through odin or just somehow do it through TWRP?
Formating data through twrp should solve it

ok yeah how
/data and /cache are special since you can delete them and android should generate the partition for you .. you just need to "format" them

Just make sure it's not just a corrupted data partition first before doing something as drastic as repartition.

You'll know that it's more than a corrupted partition when running disk scan/fix (using e2fsck from an adb shell through recovery) and then afterwards flashing the rom again doesn't work.

Try Heimdall?
What method did you use? You tried flashing CWM 6.01.0 and then flashing CM 10? what version and what build? Maybe you want to flash another build in case it's just a problem in certain build?
I did mine using Heimdall, Give this a go

for windows you can find the step here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29104577&postcount=29
Take a deep breath, read the instruction once again and then try, Good luck!

ADB (Android Debug Bridge) comes with the Android SDK. Basically you boot the device into CWM recovery then connect the device to a computer using a USB cable and run the command 'adb shell' which will then give you a shell prompt where you can send commands directly to be run on the device.
If you're getting reboots from trying to wipe certain partitions repeatedly from CWM then that's a pretty strong indication that you have a corrupted partition.

great! sometimes simple re wipe and re flashing did the trick.
Hello everyone!
I was using the Android L without any problems, but when i saw this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...android-lollipop-stock-factory-image-t2908890) - that there is a backup image, for download via TWRP, i did it and followed all the steps.
Everything went fine, but my phone was pretty much dead. no internet connection or phone signal.
So, i decided to install the preview ROM of the Android 5, via ADB (available by Google), but my signal was fluctuating a lot.
Then, i tried to install the Stock ROM 4.4.4, but failed again (fluctuating signal and no 3G or LTE) - Only 2G and my phone is restarting often.
Do you guys have any idea to help me? Or did i screwed my Nexus 5?
Thank you very much.

Wipe cache and Dalvik cache. Maybe format cache and reflash it in fastboot for good measure. If that doesn't work and you don't have an EFS backup then there isn't anything you can do about your IMEI.

Then I heard about OctoPlus Box ( http://octoplusbox.com/) that can do this kind of repair. But from what I saw, it requires a specific hardware.
I will refer you for assistance, but I think they will want to replace the motherboard and it should come out pretty expensive.

I'd flash the 4.4.4 factory image and see if you still have the problem. If you do it's most likely a hardware issue.

EFS is the one partition you don't want messed up. It contains the IMEI info for your phone.
First things first: you should try to do a factory reset from the stock recovery you have installed now and see if it boots.
If this fails, then: do you have any NANDROID backups made with CWM recovery? If you do, did you also backup the EFS partition? If you did, try to restore a full NANDROID backup and you should be fine.
If you somehow get your phione to boot up and you can't get a network signal, then it means you EFS partition (and IMEI) is corrupted. If you don't have a backup for that, the only solution is going to a phone service repair shop (at least I don't know of any way to recover that without a backup).
Good luck

No. You'd screw things further. Don't flash backups from other devices. The IMEI is unique for each device.

I don't know. Try it. I think there was an option for it.
You could also try reflashing stock firmware with Odin. If everything fails, I suggest taking it to the nearest phone service repair shop. Restoring the IMEI is a more complex operation. I think a JTAG is required. Not sure though.
Good luck

I do not have the time unfortunately to go into details. But please search on google: "Odin explanation" or something like that. A good example:
http://donandroid.com/understanding-odin-a-beginners-guide-on-odin-buttons-checkboxes-629
Unfortunately like I said, none of the available options can help you.
And never try to use Re-partition unless you really know what you're doing. That repartitions your internal memory to a different layout (like number of partitions and sizes) and requires a PIT file specific to your device.
In the future, always make full NANDROID backups before flashing anything. This will also backup your EFS partition. There are also applications like this one:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ma.wanam.efs
And many more examples which I am sure you can find on XDA in your device specific forum. This way, if your EFS ever becomes corrupted, you can easily restore it to a working condition.
Cheers.

My tab wont boot. (GT-P3113)
When I press the power button to power up, it automatically reboots to recovery.
Any fix ??
PS: I've already changed roms many times, like CM12, CM13, OmniRom (both android 5 and 6) Pac-Man rom but it doesnt fix the problem.
Pls help.
Have you done a clean flash? (that is to wipe system, data, cache and dalvik cache before installing the rom).
Also do you have the latest espresso common twrp recovery by Andi installed?
If the answer is yes in both questions, try after the wipe and before installing to resize the system partition (Wipe->Advanced Wipe-> select only the system -> Repair or change filesystem->Resize filesystem). That worked for me in the past, I am not sure why.

I've read Android-Andi's post about that emmc issue that emmc has been write-protected and can't flash anything.

Mine is 8GB tab2 7'.
I can flash different roms (CM 12,13, Omni, PacMan) for my tab and it is always successful.
Is there a possible fix for that ? I mean, is there a script/.sh file that will trigger a normal reboot rather than rebooting to recovery everytime I press power-on?

That's about all tabs if I am not mistaken. Check the small letters on the back cover. If it's a verizon variant (and not a p3113), it would explain the roms not booting.

Sir, mine is GT-P3113
Hey I need help my phone keeps rebooting seconds after It goes to homesrceen
This happened after I format it using trwp. The reason I have format the phone is bcz all the apps were crashing, I can't use any apps, the Bluetooth won't work, flashlight won't work and my camera won't either. So I just went to format it via twrp. Now the phone keeps rebooting. The only time it does not reboot is when I am on the set up screen. I am using a Samsung j7
Um what format did you do?
What ROM are you using?

Use ODIN and flash the stock ROM.
Reinstall recovery because ODIN probably would rewrite the recovery to stock.
Is your device the SM-J700F?

Honestly didn't want to hear about flashing it over but I will try it sometime this week. Hopefully I can get a PC to do it cause mine is not working. If you know an alternative please let me know. Thank you. Also I am seeing checking device status on the notification bar when the phone boots
Well you can flash with twrp but you’ll still need a PC to download the rom to the phone and sometimes twrp cant flash stock ROMs. blame Samsung xd
