Hello everyone!
I was using the Android L without any problems, but when i saw this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...android-lollipop-stock-factory-image-t2908890) - that there is a backup image, for download via TWRP, i did it and followed all the steps.
Everything went fine, but my phone was pretty much dead. no internet connection or phone signal.
So, i decided to install the preview ROM of the Android 5, via ADB (available by Google), but my signal was fluctuating a lot.
Then, i tried to install the Stock ROM 4.4.4, but failed again (fluctuating signal and no 3G or LTE) - Only 2G and my phone is restarting often.
Do you guys have any idea to help me? Or did i screwed my Nexus 5?
Thank you very much.

No ... it was the first thing I see.
But I think I found the problem. My IMEI is equal to 0.
I have his number written down, will have to restore it?

Wipe cache and Dalvik cache. Maybe format cache and reflash it in fastboot for good measure. If that doesn't work and you don't have an EFS backup then there isn't anything you can do about your IMEI.

Then I heard about OctoPlus Box ( http://octoplusbox.com/) that can do this kind of repair. But from what I saw, it requires a specific hardware.
I will refer you for assistance, but I think they will want to replace the motherboard and it should come out pretty expensive.

I've done all the wipes, installed the Stock ROM 4.4.4 and 5.0 Preview, nothing worked. My mistake was to have made a restore of an image that was not on my Nexus 5, what killed my IMEI.

I'd flash the 4.4.4 factory image and see if you still have the problem. If you do it's most likely a hardware issue.

Hello!
Am using Samsung Galaxy S i9003 running on android 2.3.6
My phone is not fetching any cellular signal even though sim card is inserted in it. It is asking me to insert sim card when I check for mobile networks. After a thorough check up what I found is the IMEI number is missing. It is showing blank pop up when I check in for IMEI (*#06#).
Also what I've found is:
PDA: I9003XXKPQ
PHONE: Unknown
CSC: I9003SERKPQ.
So I thought this cellular signal problem could be due to missing "phone" file in the software of the operating system. So I flashed a custom ROM (Jelly Bam). I was successful in flashing but am still facing the same problem. No IMEI and "PHONE"
I flashed it back to official stock ROM and I still see the same. No IMEI and versions as:
PDA: I9003XXKPQ
PHONE: Unknown
CSC: I9003SERKPQ.
NOTE : I Have flashed the Stock ROM finally with ODIN with all the four files by appropriately selecting them.
Is this happening due to software error or is this a hardware problem?
Why the IMEI number is missing?
Please help me.

the data present in your efs folder which includes files like "nav_data.bak" "nv_data.bin" they assign IMEI number to your phone... these files might be missing or corrupted... better try any previous restore to fix this problem
Tried that!

I guess you are correct but the restored file on the sd card is corrupted one, I guess. Because the same problem occurred after restoring the previous backups. Can I get any custom restores online for efs? I don't want any warranty for my mobile, I just need it working. In case if it works on a fake IMEI by flashing a custom EFS it is fine with me.

hmmm... actually stepping up for some custom roms based on CM 9 and above solve the IMEI problem.... I recommend you to first download a stock gingerbread ROM and flash it via ODIN... if it doesnt work then download a CM9 based ROM (4.0.4) wipe data/cache/dalvik/ and flash it via CWM recovery then wipe cache/dalvik... it should work and there is like 30% chance to get your IMEI back
But my main point is how u lost ur IMEI suddenly?? You must have flashed something which lead to missing IMEI.
Will Try this once!

IMEI is lost when you delete/edit efs data or when you flash a firmware ,but the chances of loss of IMEI are during firmware flashing are very slim

Sorry for don't knowing the correct section for this thread.
I installed a custom rom (CM 10.1, with special settings and software) to an Android phone (Samsung GT-S7710).
Now I have to copy this exact system to about 150 devices of the same type.
Is this possible with an cwm backup??
I've also tried to build a odin flashable *.tar file, but don't successful.
What's the best way to make an image of the entire Android system, with all the settings and data. (if possible also from the internal sdcard)
ps.: I have to do the same with a samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0
Thanks very much in advance!

EFS is the one partition you don't want messed up. It contains the IMEI info for your phone.
First things first: you should try to do a factory reset from the stock recovery you have installed now and see if it boots.
If this fails, then: do you have any NANDROID backups made with CWM recovery? If you do, did you also backup the EFS partition? If you did, try to restore a full NANDROID backup and you should be fine.
If you somehow get your phione to boot up and you can't get a network signal, then it means you EFS partition (and IMEI) is corrupted. If you don't have a backup for that, the only solution is going to a phone service repair shop (at least I don't know of any way to recover that without a backup).
Good luck

No. You'd screw things further. Don't flash backups from other devices. The IMEI is unique for each device.
Did you try the factory reset from the recovery you have now?

I don't know. Try it. I think there was an option for it.
You could also try reflashing stock firmware with Odin. If everything fails, I suggest taking it to the nearest phone service repair shop. Restoring the IMEI is a more complex operation. I think a JTAG is required. Not sure though.
Good luck

I do not have the time unfortunately to go into details. But please search on google: "Odin explanation" or something like that. A good example:
http://donandroid.com/understanding-odin-a-beginners-guide-on-odin-buttons-checkboxes-629
Unfortunately like I said, none of the available options can help you.
And never try to use Re-partition unless you really know what you're doing. That repartitions your internal memory to a different layout (like number of partitions and sizes) and requires a PIT file specific to your device.
In the future, always make full NANDROID backups before flashing anything. This will also backup your EFS partition. There are also applications like this one:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ma.wanam.efs
And many more examples which I am sure you can find on XDA in your device specific forum. This way, if your EFS ever becomes corrupted, you can easily restore it to a working condition.
Cheers.

This happened after I format it using trwp.
