So, on my phone the ultra battery saver option is always greyed out ? any way to get around that or fix that ?
It's a known MIUI bug.
You have two options, one of which may work.
1: Switch to Control Center.
2: Factory reset your phone.
This is a known MIUI bug that has a lot of questions on Reddit. The only solution I've seen so far is a factory reset.

Hi. So recently with my oneplus one I have been having issues (location services not working, text messages not sending/relieving, and mobile data acting up a bit). I decided to perform a factory reset because I figured this would probably be the best way to just start over fresh and possibly resolve some of the issues. Most of the issues were fixed, however I was incredibly disappointed when I went into my settings. Half of the options that I could once modify before I reset the device were now gone! To name a few: the notification bar brightness slider, the vibrator intensity setting, the hardware button brightness, the customized screen colors, and the customized lock screen shortcuts..and that's just to name a few of the important ones. I'm wondering what's going on! Is there any way to get these settings back on my oneplus one? Has anyone else had this issue? Is it because of the cyanogen fallout? It's really frustrating. I didn't realize how much I took those amazing settings for granted. I would have just dealt with the issues if I'd known this would happen. Let me know if anyone has any idea..i would be so so appreciative.
Don't know if its the same thing but there is an advance mode in about phone in settings that allows more modifications to be made.

I transfered some photos via Bluetooth and it won't show in the gallery app. Usually the gallery app will show it (before factory reset)

Are you sure that you signed in with the same email as before? Mine were all saved under the email that I used. Otherwise I'm not sure. Sorry! In the future I'd always recommend downloading Dropbox and turning on the automatic camera upload synching so if anything ever happens you'll still have them forever.
flash via ADB?
so ive read all the threads i could find on the issue with no conclusive answers. my fathers pixel has insanely low volumein call when its not on speakerphone. ive browsed every forum i could and tried every suggestion available. anyone know of a quick fix? he needs this phone for work.
Having the same problem with my XL. I sent the google store a message and they called me back. The guy said that's how it's supposed to be. I told him I it was wasn't loud enough at max level and he suggested that I go to the google store and try some of the volume boosters. Not real happy with this!
Here's the email he sent me....
If you are having any audio, speaker, or microphone issues with your device, please follow the steps below.
Step 1: Update to the latest version of Android OS.
Go to Settings > About phone / tablet > System updates and select Download or Check for updates
If your device is modified or rooted, revert your device to original factory image since troubleshooting steps may not work on modified/rooted devices. You can use our Nexus factory images to re-image your device.
Step 2: Remove obstructions.
Remove any cling film, stickers, covers/cases/bumpers, or anything else that can be obstructing the device.
Step 3: Enable safe mode on your device.
Ensure your device's screen is on, then press & hold the Power button.
Touch and hold the Power off option in the dialog box.
Tap OK in the following dialog to start safe mode.
To exit safe mode, turn your device off and on again.
If you discover that the issue doesn't occur while your device is in safe mode, it's likely that a third-party app or Android OS modification is causing the issue. You can start to use and narrow down your installed apps to try to pinpoint the specific app. When the culprit is identified, you can uninstall the app or contact the developer of the app for further support as follows:
Navigate to play.google.com.
Find the app and click on it to view its main page.
Scroll down to the "Additional Information" section. Here, you'll see "Contact Developer" options.
Step 4: While in safe mode, turn off Bluetooth.
Go to Settings > Bluetooth and if Bluetooth is on, tap the slider near the top to turn Bluetooth off.
Step 5: While in safe mode, make sure the volume is on.
Go to Settings > Sound.
In Volume settings, slide all three indicators all the way to the right to make sure all sound is on and at max volume.
Note: When each slider is adjusted, a sound will be heard.
Step 6: If the volume buttons on the side of your phone aren't working, check Switch Access settings.
Go to Settings > Accessibility > Switch Access.
If the slider near the upper right corner is on, tap it, then tap OK to turn it off.
Step 7: Check if the issue is resolved.
Play with the volume levels to hear sound.
Make a test phone call.
Use Google Now to test your microphone.
If your issue isn't resolved, continue to the next step.
Step 8: Reset your device to factory settings.
If you're still unable to resolve the issue, or if the issue is so severe that you can't boot your device into safe mode, resetting your device to factory settings may help. Resetting your device to factory settings will erase all local data on your device. Backup of your personal local data (pictures, music and video files) is recommended.
To backup personal data on your device
To reset your device to factory settings
If your issue has been resolved, great! Let us know.
If your issue was *not* resolved and your device still experiences audio issues, call us or reply to this email and reference that you already went through our Audio troubleshooting steps which included resetting your device to factory settings.
If you have any more questions, please reply to this email. I'm happy to help!
Thanks!

i have the same type of issues. The volume on this device is just too low. I constantly try to turn up the volume, but when maxed out, it stinks. I'm on the latest version of android 8.0.0 as of this posting. safe mode didn't solve anything. factory default didn't fix anything either. Same Low volumes. I have no issues with volumes on my older Note5. makes me wonder if i need to switch over the new Note 8.
Maybe i'll have better luck if i root the phone and find an app to boost the volumes.

Mine was well has has low volume issues
Been having same issue myself, and read one blog said to remove sim card and reinstall it. This worked great for me.
I am new to the OnePlus 8 on T-Mobile and I am having an issue where when on an active call the phone app completely disappears. Sometime i can find it again in the notification area and other times I cant find the active call at all. This makes it very difficult to switch to speakerphone or even hang up the call. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it? I have never had this happen on an android phone before .
Thanks!
Are you using apps for notification LED ? like NotifyBuddy or similar ? i use this app and the phone goes all black and found it difficult sometimes.
Isnt the Phone app visible in Recent Apps list ?
for the time being unless someone really helps you solve the problem, you can enable Power Button Ends the call option from Accessibility settings to end Call easily with Power Button.
I am not using any LED apps. The suggestion about the accessibility option to end the call is a good one until I figure more out. Thanks for that tip!

I had the same problem. After talking to OnePlus technical service they recommended me to do a factory reset from the recovery menu. I did it and never had the problem again.
Hope it helps you.

Thanks. Did you do any sort of restore after the reset or did you manually install al your apps, etc.?

Yes. Before the reset, I made a backup of the phone (the one that appears in the settings) that is stored in your Google Drive to be able to restore it later.

Great. I will give that a try. Thank you!
FYI - That reset seemed to fix my issue as well. Must have been a carryover from my old phone causing the issue. Thank you for the tip again!
Hey Guys,
Since I received my watch I have a very concerning issue that I could not find answer to.
If I go to settings -> location -> turn on/off toggle it does move when I click it, but then if I come back to the main menu and enter the settings once again the option is unchanged. This happens also after todays fresh watch update.
The same situation happens when I try to turn on/off location via drop down from notifications - it just doesn't respond.
Does it happen to your watches as well?

Hi, have to tried factory reset;
has the problem been there since you got the watch: then assuming its new go where you bought it and show them the problem, you'll get new one or get new one
make sure to backup and wipe personal data and / accounts if they want to give you new device
Apparently factory reset has solved the problem and now its all good! I will leave the thread for people that may struggle with similar issue. Thanks flairepathos
I had the same issue (after I uninstalled Bixby via rbd, I think) and a factory reset fixed it for me. I have since disabled Bixby rather than uninstalling it and no issues with location toggle.
My original issue was exactly as you describe. If I tried to toggle it off from the quick settings nothing happened. If I went into the main location settings it would go off but then magically come back on again.
Bite the bullet and do a reset, you'll find it's fine after.
That's exactly the issue. I played with ADB and uninstalled Bixby as I don't need it but never thought it would impact location toggles But now, after the restart I'm not gonna touch ADB just in case.
How did you disable it on the watch?
So I turned off Miui Optimization because I wanted the always on display to always been on (apparently if you disabled Miui Optimization, it wouldn't turn off after 10 seconds). It worked, but I lost some things like the haptic vibration or the Gaussian blur of the interface. I need help, I enabled Miui Optimization again but it didn't fix it (I restarted my cellphone more than 5 times). I don't know what to do and I'm not able to find a solution.

Y completely did. Trust me, I did everything; I also check for similar bugs on YouTube and it didn't work. Suddenly I just woke up and it started working again... I'm not understanding, but we'll. Anyways, thanks!

Did you able to find the solution for this issue? I got this issue two times and everytime I had to reset. Funny thing is that there was also a dark mode glitch as well. Although, everything gets normal while charging the phone... Seriously, MIUI is annoying as hell.

Yeah, I was able to find a solution for it. I suffered the same thing you have, phone was back to normal when I plugged the cable to charge it. I installed an app called "Hidden Settings (if you search it on the play store as "Hidden Settings Miui" it'll appear on there). Open the app and go to "hidden" at the bottom of the interface, then search for the battery options and its gonna be one of those 4 options.
In my case, the problem was with the second battery option. It was enabled and I had to disable it, then it started working like nothing happened.
I hope you can fix it, if you need help just answer this saying it.

Thank you so much for replying and your help buddy. I had to reset everytime because of that bug and eventually decided not to turn off MIUI optimizations. BTW Did it work while MIUI optimization was off?

tbh I didn't try it with the Miui optimization off, but I think that if you disable the battery optimizations I told you before; it should work fine even with Miui optimization turned off. You can try it, you do know how to fix those "bugs" if they happen again so you'll not lose anything.
