Hello,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but when I start my Xperia XZ1 Compact (G8441) in fastboot mode, it shows up in Windows 10 device manager with a question mark next to it. I tried updating to the driver from Sony but I get the following error:

I'm following this article for updating the driver:

And this one for unlocking the bootloader:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Both ADB and Fastboot drivers aren't enough: You have to install the "Android USB Driver" what is at 100% suitable to your Xperia device, too.

I have installed the drivers from my manufacturer, and I also tried generic USB Android drivers, but resulting in the error message from the screenshot above.
I was able to get it to work after using this tool:

I should add that I uninstalled the Xperia Companion app as well, so that might have had something to do with it.

Same error =/
If you are using windows 8, you will have to disable driver signature enforcement before you can install fastboot driver.

Nope..using windows 7 32bit..
Ok. Did you install adb drivers first, and able to use update service? You should run update service at least once just to make it install flashmode drivers, then it will recognize fastboot driver.

Can pc companion detect the phone? If it does, just check pc companion - repair again. If not, check if your mtp driver is installed

Its very important to check usb debugging
Before anything make sure that all LG Drivers and everything Installed and run under Windows 7 if you run Windows 8 you should to disable driver signature enforcement windows 8 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2337545
or Such as drastic00 Check step 1 and if you have Windows 8 check that also
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39269819
lg debugging is checked, unkown sources also. drastic00 answer helped. Thank you. But still in device manager there is (!) next to android composite ADB interface. What can I do about that?
I never noticed that and don't know what it is. As long as you have the other 3 drivers you should be good for using LG Flash Tool, Fastboot or whatever software for flashing .bin, .fls, .kdz and recoveries. I have not used LG Update tool in a while. When LG released their official ICS it was bricking some devices; seems it is not very reliable.
you should run under Windows 7 as administrator

have you tried Ubuntu??
windows sometimes has a lot of problem.
If you've got a driver installed that works fine you can use Device Manager in Windows. Connect your phone, find it in the list, choose update driver, and the option that lets you choose a driver from the list. Select the driver that works (mine is called MyHTC) and it should install. You need to repeat this for eachc of the three states (adb in Android, fastboot, and adb in Recovery)

* Internet Required for first time.
Let's Start

Install Flashtool in C:/ Drive
*After installation of Flashtool, Open C:/ drive's Flashtool>drivers folder
* Now install and run Flashtool Drivers.exe check Fast boot and and Flash mode n install.
*Now Open xperia-companion (previously Sony pc companion) and connect your phone to pc/laptop after successful connection Xperia-companion will show your phone model no this means drivers installed successfully.
* Now Run Flashtool wait few seconds And connect your device .
*To check everything goes right , open your phone settings -devloper option-mark USB debugging go back to settings-security-mark unknown sources . × Switch Off×
*Run Flashtool
Flash mode
Connect your device into pc while holding volume down- Flashtool will show device connected in Flash mode.
Fastboot mode
Connect your device into pc while holding volume up+ (device notification light will glow) Flashtool will show Device connected in Fastboot mode.
(If Flashtool log show this message means you are good to go take further steps)
Flashtool set up complete.
I tried this method in both Windows 7 and 8.No need to disable driver signature enforcement in Windows 8.I m not sure about Windows 10.
So I have a Crosstopic Android and Windows 10 Problem. I installed Havoc Os 4.16 on my device and now my HP Laptop does not show the Redmi 5 Plus Phone in the device Manager, but the device is charging.
But when I go into Fastboot mode the device is showing and I can use USB-Debugging.
I tried different cables and ports.
USB Debugging and Root is Enabled.
What can I do?
Wrong ADB driver in use. Download and install the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Android USB driver.

Thanks for the reply.
So I already did the following.
1) Downloaded the correct Driver with the inf file.
2) went to fastboot on my device and connected it to the Pc
3) Installed ADB Driver via Update Driver
What am I doing wrong? Is there maybe a exe file so I do not need to connect my phone to install the right driver?
To install ADB driver on PC it's NOT required Android device and PC are connected via USB: why should they also be connected?

So when I connect it via Fastboot the Driver Shows up otherwise when I do not connect it I do not have a Driver to install.
I don't understand why you keep talking about FastBoot: ADB and FastBoot are two completely different drivers: ADB allows you to operate on device's Android OS, whereas FastBoot allows you to operate on device's bootloader.

The error code 10 is a common driver error in Windows OS. It indicates that the driver for the specific device is failing to load.
You can try to uninstall then reinstall the driver.
