I've a Droid 2 Global purchased from a seller in US, which I'd like to use in India with a GSM SIM Card. It was used with Verizon Wireless and when I tried to use it, it requested for "SIM Network Unlock PIN". This sounded like the unlock code and I have entered the 8 digit unlock code he provided to me after contacting Verizon. But, when I enter the code to unlock the mobile, it says "Network Unlock Request unsuccessful" and prompts for "SIM Network Unlock PIN" again!
I've made sure the mode is GSM/UMTS (verified with Global also, though!) and tried with different GSM SIM cards. All those SIM cards work normally when used in other mobiles. I've tried contacting Verizon support 5 times, Motorola Support 2 times and my local GSM carrier support 3 times. It appears it was with Verizon. I've verified everytime that the IMEI of the phone and the Unlock code given to me match with the data they have! They wonder why this is not working, but they couldn't help.
I've tried installing custom ROMs too! The problem remains same! I've installed Radiocomm to see if I could try with the codes at "Subsidy Code" but it returns status as 00 (which means unlocked as per some other forums!!).
Can someone help me understand what exactly is going on with my D2G?
The unlock code for your device was changed at some point, or VZW's database information is invalid. It happens. In such cases the device is usually sent to VZW for a warranty claim (if you are a VZW customer).
Sadly, I am not a VZW customer. I live in India and planned to use it with my local GSM Carrier.
I've purchased unlock codes from some website too. They provided 2 codes which turned out to be useless. Is there a way we can bypass this from Radicomm?
No, there isn't.

I purchased an unlock code from Rogers, but when I enter it into the phone using the other service provider's SIM card, I get an error message that says "Network unlock unsuccessful". Rogers can't figure out why the unlock code isn't working. They've refunded me the costs, but I can't get it to unlock so now I'm without a phone. Anyone have any suggestions on what the problem might be?
Did you confirm that Rogers has the correct MEI number to that phone?
There are other options online too for getting the unlock code for your phone... since you're willing to spend money for it, you could try one of the respected unlock sites and get the code that way.. there is really no reason why the correct unlock code wouldn't work..
Last saturday I bought a second hand motorola motoz. It was locked with Bell and my provider is telus. SO I contacted bell to get it unlocked. so we went through all of that and they said it was unlocked. but i never got an unlock code. so i called back and they said the phone was unlocked already and they never had the unlock code anymore. but the phone is still asking for a unlock code. I called their specialist and they told me to contact motorola. i contacted motorola and waited a week for the same answer as before. they never had the unlock code, is their anything else i could do? or do i just give up and get rid of the phone.

Hello friends,
I got Galaxy A50 network locked from foreign Country ( Canada ) , Firstly, It was asking to enter network unlock code but i didn't had any unlock code. Then, i gave it to one shop for unlock network code. They took 2 weeks but could't fix it. Then, I contacted back Canada to carrier with which my mobile was locked. I explained them everything. They said that your contract is over now and they can provide me network unlock code for free. I have given them my IMEI number and they replied me back with unlock code. I was very happy. But, When i turned my mobile on with new sim card then it was telling " Sim Network PIN blocked, Please Enter sim PUK code. I believe that shop people entered wrong network PIN too many times. So my question is , Which Sim network PUK code my mobile is asking??? The SIM that shop people used or the original carrier back from Canada or the sim i am inserting in current situation?? I have tried to put PUK code of my current situation and original carrier back from Canada but no success. What will be next possible way to fix it??
Please help me out
Thanks
