Galaxy A50 ( SM-520W) Network Pin blocked - General Questions and Answers

Hello friends,
I got Galaxy A50 network locked from foreign Country ( Canada ) , Firstly, It was asking to enter network unlock code but i didn't had any unlock code. Then, i gave it to one shop for unlock network code. They took 2 weeks but could't fix it. Then, I contacted back Canada to carrier with which my mobile was locked. I explained them everything. They said that your contract is over now and they can provide me network unlock code for free. I have given them my IMEI number and they replied me back with unlock code. I was very happy. But, When i turned my mobile on with new sim card then it was telling " Sim Network PIN blocked, Please Enter sim PUK code. I believe that shop people entered wrong network PIN too many times. So my question is , Which Sim network PUK code my mobile is asking??? The SIM that shop people used or the original carrier back from Canada or the sim i am inserting in current situation?? I have tried to put PUK code of my current situation and original carrier back from Canada but no success. What will be next possible way to fix it??
Please help me out
Thanks
Inder

i have a t-mobile sim G1 still keeps asking for a sim network unlock code

Hello i bought a G1 on E-bay and have a T-mobile sim card when i power on the phone boots and goes into a screen asking me for a :SIM network unlock pin.
Why should i enter such a pin as i am already using a t-mobile sim.
(phone is UK version i live in the Netherlands).
Any help would be appreciated
It's because you have Netherland T-Mobile SIM card.
It has different network id.
You have to unlock it first or use with UK T-Mobile SIM card.
Finish
Simply enough As long as your account has been in good standing for 3 months (you paid ur bill)
Call the customer service
ask for representative
then ask for your G1 Sim unlock pin
they will ask Why you need it (probably offer roaming plans)
simply explain you are leaving the country and would like to use your g1 with another (local) sim card. While you are gone. THEY SHOULD give it for free
if not a small fee attached to your account (15?!?)
((as for why it does it. Different region codes each country has its own))
Thanx for your reactions, the problem is now solved got the code of of E-bay.
Goingh through customer service t-mobile UK was gonna take to much time for me.
Case closed.

[Q] Help needed to unlock D2G

I've a Droid 2 Global purchased from a seller in US, which I'd like to use in India with a GSM SIM Card. It was used with Verizon Wireless and when I tried to use it, it requested for "SIM Network Unlock PIN". This sounded like the unlock code and I have entered the 8 digit unlock code he provided to me after contacting Verizon. But, when I enter the code to unlock the mobile, it says "Network Unlock Request unsuccessful" and prompts for "SIM Network Unlock PIN" again!
I've made sure the mode is GSM/UMTS (verified with Global also, though!) and tried with different GSM SIM cards. All those SIM cards work normally when used in other mobiles. I've tried contacting Verizon support 5 times, Motorola Support 2 times and my local GSM carrier support 3 times. It appears it was with Verizon. I've verified everytime that the IMEI of the phone and the Unlock code given to me match with the data they have! They wonder why this is not working, but they couldn't help.
I've tried installing custom ROMs too! The problem remains same! I've installed Radiocomm to see if I could try with the codes at "Subsidy Code" but it returns status as 00 (which means unlocked as per some other forums!!).
Can someone help me understand what exactly is going on with my D2G?
The unlock code for your device was changed at some point, or VZW's database information is invalid. It happens. In such cases the device is usually sent to VZW for a warranty claim (if you are a VZW customer).
Sadly, I am not a VZW customer. I live in India and planned to use it with my local GSM Carrier.
I've purchased unlock codes from some website too. They provided 2 codes which turned out to be useless. Is there a way we can bypass this from Radicomm?
No, there isn't.

Sim unlocked or not?

I've got a p40 pro (ELS-NX9) dual sim. I bought it off ebay reseller as sim unlocked and have used it on EE for over a year.
I am changing to the 3 network and their sim doesnt work - the phone asks for a sim unlock code. I rang EE and asked for a code to sim unlock, they said it would take a couple of days.
Today I got a message from them saying it is sim unlocked already.
Any ideas why the 3 sim doesnt work? Is there a way I can check?
I have both sims in the phone and tried them in opposite sides of the sim holder. The sim settings are fine. I have put google on it - would this make a difference? I dont want to go through the hassle of backing up everything again!!

”The SIM card unlock code, is the PIN number that came by default on your SIM card or the SIM card PIN that you set yourself. The purpose of having a SIM PIN is if someone found your SIM card they would not be able to make a call or access the info on it without first entering your SIM card PIN number”
Should be written on the SIM- big sim holder Card. ( default could be 1234 or 0000)

So why does my original EE sim work with no pin? The 3 sim is brand new and has no service, it arrived pre activated by 3, all I had to do is put it in the phone. I guess I should say network unlock instead of sim unlock?

A brand new sim come with the PIN written as on image, by default. You can remove it, change it, but first of all you need to provide the PIN code on the first connection to have access on it. It doesn't care if it has service or not.
It is better to try that SIM card in other phone. Maybe this other phone will provide you the same request.
Also you can ask a SIM (3 network) from a friend that for sure has the PIN inactive to see if it works on your phone.

Not in this case, the sim is pre-activated. It is a carrier code that is needed
I understand. It can be unlocked. I think it is not for free, but you will find solutions on-line or in service (not Huawei service).

According to EE the phone is unlocked, according to 3 it isn't blacklisted, waiting for a new sim now to try again.
Ifr it is locked, it will be the first P40 Pro locked that I have ever heard.
I've had a reply from Huawei, It was sold to EE locked to their network. According to EE it is unlocked lol! Back to EE I go I guess

Activating service on S7

I am trying to move my existing service to a S7 but not having any luck.
My daughter updated her phone a long time ago and this S7 was sitting around unused. She had purchased used and unlocked but when she was upgrading she deleted her files by doing a factory reboot. Will this take the phone back to being locked to the original carriers network?
Asking because I have been trying to move my SIM card over but it won't accept the PUK code that I got from my service provider.
When I startup with the active SIM card in it all I get is a message asking for the PUK code but doesn't accept the PUK code I have. Could this be the way it asks for the network unlocking code?
Trying to move my service to a Galaxy S7 that was passed on to me from my daughter. Installing SIM prompts for PUK code. Have received 2 different PUK codes from my carrier and neither is accepted!
Daughter had purchased this phone used but was unlocked and it worked fine for her. When she gave it to me she did a factory reboot to clear all of her stuff.
1) If a phone had been unlocked does it return to a locked phone when a factory reboot is done?
2) If the phone has returned to be locked to a carrier and the Sim from an alternate carrier is installed, will it ask for the PUK code but not accept it like this phone is doing?
3) How do I determine which carrier the phone is locked to?
