[Q] Do Samsung Pay cards stay on watch when re-installing phone?

I'm a crackflasher and frequently am reinstalling my phone.
Do the cards listed in Samsung Pay on the watch stay on the watch when re-installing the phone, or do they get erased when the watch syncs with the phone for the first time?
The reason I ask is because when using Android Pay on my phone, if I reinstall the ROM without removing the card from Android Pay first, my banks see it as having it installed on multiple devices. AMEX for example only lets you have the card setup on 3(I think) devices.
Thanks for the info!

They get erased. I've done it twice. I setup my Gear S3 on my Note 2 perfectly, complete with Samsung Pay. I even got a letter from my bank saying my credit card has a "digital account number" associated with it using Samsung Pay. Then I had to reflash the ROM (because I messed it up trying to fix my Group MMS trying to install different versions of messenger apk). When re-registering the Gear S3 with my newly flashed Note 2, the Gear S3 had to do a "soft-reboot". I had to setup Samsung Pay again (enter the credit card number, sign your signature my Note 2, etc.). I got another letter from my bank saying my credit card has a new "digital account number" (which is different from the first one which no longer works). Everything works again.
EDIT *** Whether the first one is still considered "active' in the eyes of my bank, I don't know.

2 Questions, did you logged into the same Samsung account for gear manager after the flashing and did you logged in to your Samsung account before starting the pairing process. As far as I know, watch should not reset itself as long as you are pairing with the same phone and user account.

Hmm...I can't remember whether I'm signed into my phone using my Samsung account when I tried to reconnect the Gear S3 on a newly flashed ROM. I wish I remembered exactly what I did and when I did it. Sorry
I was thinking of using Titanium Backup to backup and restore all the Samsung Gear apps. This may remedy the card erasing solution.

If you have the LTE S3, you can pair it with a cheap phone dedicated solely to that task. It doesn't need a SIM, only a WiFi network. Plus a service like Digits, Google Voice, or NumberSync.

Just a follow up, i just installed nougat update to my s6 edge with wiping data, i logged in to my samsung account and tried pairing phone with gear without resetting the gear, bluetooth pairing worked but as soon as i open gear manager it light reset the gear. After reset it restore all my gear data tho, except settings and widget orders.
I still can't remember whether I was logged into my Samsung account when I paired. It did pair after a light reset but Samsung Pay info was gone and I had to re-register my credit card again.
Lol, I had to redo my cards just after taking the pin code off.

So, having the PIN removed, does it just go directly to Samsung Pay without asking for a PIN when you long press the Back button?

With my pin removed. I could no longer use Samsung pay. It basically deleted everything pay information wise to my watch. I redid a pin code. And basically started from scratch again. The bank even sent me a new letter about joining Samsung pay.

Gear S3 and Note 4 unable to download apps

So i have been scouring the forums looking for a solution to my current problem.
Currently, I can only access the galaxy store through the Samsung Gear app, I do not have a "Galaxy Apps" on my note 4 anymore (i believe i had it removed with a program).
I do not have a Samsung account registered with my Note 4, nor can I add 1, everytime I attempt to log in for Samsung pay, or Samsung +, or any sort of samsung app, it will just flash the screen and do nothing.
If I attempt to download and install the Galaxy Apps APK, I get a generic error stating install failed.
If I attempt to install apps from the Galaxy App store through the Samsung gear app link, the apps go into "loading" then stop and do nothing.
At this point I think I need to do a factory reset on my Note 4, but Im hoping to avoid this, anyone know of any fixes?
(btw i have a AT&T Note 4, that cannot be rooted at this point in time..)

Samsung Gear S3 RM-765K

Changed my phone to a Samsung S9+ and after that I cant reactivate my Gear S3 .
My watch worked perfectly with my S7 and S8 but when pairing my watch to the new S9+ it fails the reactivation process when entering my Samsung Account login details, returning "Couldnt unlock Gear, try again".
I have tried to reset the watch and factory reset. Still the reactivation lock stops me from successfully pairing the watch and the phone.
As it is a Korean LTE version Samsung UK refuses to touch it even though it seems to me that there are no issues with the watch nor the phone as you sometimes can see the gadgets communicating in the background during the pairing process before I am asked to enter my Samsung Account details.
I only have one Samsung Account, so the watch is connected to that Account. I can log into Samsung Account on a computer without a problem. Unfortunately I dont have my S8 anymore as it was a trade in deal I had when I got the S9+.
Any suggestions?

SPay for Gear forced update help!

Hi all.
I have a (rooted) S7 Edge paired with my Gear S3 Frontier. I had to factory reset my Frontier recently and it's broken Samsung Pay. SPay for Gear wants to update itself to the latest version, which won't run on my S7 since it detects a modification (either root or Knox0x1), even though I have root hidden via the latest Magisk.
So I can't add cards since the Gear app closes unless I allow the update, and the update won't work.
Any ideas on how to get around this? The S7 Edge ROM I am using is Touchwiz-based. Would changing to a non-TW ROM mask Knox0x1 from being seen by the Gear app?
Thanks.
I don't think knox is revertable. Its specifically Samsung's trick to detect devices that lose warranty...
Either way, check if basic requirements are met before launching Samsung pay.
1. Samsung Pay, Samsung Gear add-on are hidden in magisk options
2. Magisk manager is hidden (in options there's button to hide - it will reinstall magisk manager with new random package name to avoid detection.
If both requirements are met, but still doesn't work, then probably nothing can help.

Google pay on Ultra

Hello,
Is gpay working for you? Tried with gpay open - no reaction when holding near the bank terminal. Tried from home screen - the same. Previous devices like s9, note9 worked fine. Now I cannot find the reason

Turn on NFC?
Nfc is on, and it works, tried with bank card reading
Found out that other nfc apps are not working too. Seems that it is nfc problem with third party apps
I'm having an issue with google pay where it keeps telling me I moved the phone too fast. even though it hasn't moved. I haven't been able to get it working as of yet.
note 20 ultra google pay and nfc doesnt work
works for me. i have the N986U.
Same issue, tried everything. Hoping next OTA fixes it, otherwise I'm servicing the phone.
Has anyone here managed to fix a broken Google Pay on the N9860?
I contacted Google Pay support and they're saying the configuration appears ok but the terminals aren't communicating back to the phone. I have tried changing the secure element to all three options, removing and adding the cards again. This all worked on my previous Note 8 so it seems to be a problem with the N9860 and not my cards/banks.

I have successfully completed a payment in the UK using Google Pay with my N9860 from Hong Kong (TGY) and a UK bank card (Santander).

so according to the article, the latest software version should fix the issue
Have been using NFC Gpay with no problems on Note20 Ultra (Qualcomm).
Google Pay not working fix
Hi
If your Google pay isn't working try these 2 options:
1. Uninstall google pay and re-add the payment method (card) even if you already see the card is there
2. I think this is most probably issue:
When you go to NFC settings in your Samsungs settings not Google Pay app, you'll see "tap and pay",this option will be activated as your nfc is on,tap on the writting and on the bottom of the screen you will see 2 options, left is Payment and right is Others. Tap on "others" and you'll see 2 options: first is Nearby(tap 2 phones to transfer photos/data) and 2nd is Google Pay,make sure that is SELECTED.
Once I selected that option, Google Pay worked.
I contacted Google before, but their brilliant support team and account specialists couldn't figured it out

Another fix... None of the above worked for me and Google support couldn't help either.
I had my giffgaff SIM in slot 1, tried all sorts of stuff for weeks and nothing worked. Eventually I put an O2 SIM into slot 2 and added my cards, problem solved! After a successful transaction, I was then able to remove the O2 SIM and just leave the giffgaff one in and it still works.
I don't know if the problem was the giffgaff SIM, the slot it was in or something else but I honestly tried the above and so much more to no avail. If you're having issues, try swapping SIM slots or put a second SIM in.
