Hello,
Is gpay working for you? Tried with gpay open - no reaction when holding near the bank terminal. Tried from home screen - the same. Previous devices like s9, note9 worked fine. Now I cannot find the reason

Turn on NFC?
Nfc is on, and it works, tried with bank card reading
Found out that other nfc apps are not working too. Seems that it is nfc problem with third party apps
I'm having an issue with google pay where it keeps telling me I moved the phone too fast. even though it hasn't moved. I haven't been able to get it working as of yet.
note 20 ultra google pay and nfc doesnt work
works for me. i have the N986U.
Same issue, tried everything. Hoping next OTA fixes it, otherwise I'm servicing the phone.
Has anyone here managed to fix a broken Google Pay on the N9860?
I contacted Google Pay support and they're saying the configuration appears ok but the terminals aren't communicating back to the phone. I have tried changing the secure element to all three options, removing and adding the cards again. This all worked on my previous Note 8 so it seems to be a problem with the N9860 and not my cards/banks.

I have successfully completed a payment in the UK using Google Pay with my N9860 from Hong Kong (TGY) and a UK bank card (Santander).

so according to the article, the latest software version should fix the issue
Have been using NFC Gpay with no problems on Note20 Ultra (Qualcomm).
Google Pay not working fix
Hi
If your Google pay isn't working try these 2 options:
1. Uninstall google pay and re-add the payment method (card) even if you already see the card is there
2. I think this is most probably issue:
When you go to NFC settings in your Samsungs settings not Google Pay app, you'll see "tap and pay",this option will be activated as your nfc is on,tap on the writting and on the bottom of the screen you will see 2 options, left is Payment and right is Others. Tap on "others" and you'll see 2 options: first is Nearby(tap 2 phones to transfer photos/data) and 2nd is Google Pay,make sure that is SELECTED.
Once I selected that option, Google Pay worked.
I contacted Google before, but their brilliant support team and account specialists couldn't figured it out

Another fix... None of the above worked for me and Google support couldn't help either.
I had my giffgaff SIM in slot 1, tried all sorts of stuff for weeks and nothing worked. Eventually I put an O2 SIM into slot 2 and added my cards, problem solved! After a successful transaction, I was then able to remove the O2 SIM and just leave the giffgaff one in and it still works.
I don't know if the problem was the giffgaff SIM, the slot it was in or something else but I honestly tried the above and so much more to no avail. If you're having issues, try swapping SIM slots or put a second SIM in.

I'm a crackflasher and frequently am reinstalling my phone.
Do the cards listed in Samsung Pay on the watch stay on the watch when re-installing the phone, or do they get erased when the watch syncs with the phone for the first time?
The reason I ask is because when using Android Pay on my phone, if I reinstall the ROM without removing the card from Android Pay first, my banks see it as having it installed on multiple devices. AMEX for example only lets you have the card setup on 3(I think) devices.
Thanks for the info!

They get erased. I've done it twice. I setup my Gear S3 on my Note 2 perfectly, complete with Samsung Pay. I even got a letter from my bank saying my credit card has a "digital account number" associated with it using Samsung Pay. Then I had to reflash the ROM (because I messed it up trying to fix my Group MMS trying to install different versions of messenger apk). When re-registering the Gear S3 with my newly flashed Note 2, the Gear S3 had to do a "soft-reboot". I had to setup Samsung Pay again (enter the credit card number, sign your signature my Note 2, etc.). I got another letter from my bank saying my credit card has a new "digital account number" (which is different from the first one which no longer works). Everything works again.
EDIT *** Whether the first one is still considered "active' in the eyes of my bank, I don't know.

2 Questions, did you logged into the same Samsung account for gear manager after the flashing and did you logged in to your Samsung account before starting the pairing process. As far as I know, watch should not reset itself as long as you are pairing with the same phone and user account.

Hmm...I can't remember whether I'm signed into my phone using my Samsung account when I tried to reconnect the Gear S3 on a newly flashed ROM. I wish I remembered exactly what I did and when I did it. Sorry
I was thinking of using Titanium Backup to backup and restore all the Samsung Gear apps. This may remedy the card erasing solution.

If you have the LTE S3, you can pair it with a cheap phone dedicated solely to that task. It doesn't need a SIM, only a WiFi network. Plus a service like Digits, Google Voice, or NumberSync.

Just a follow up, i just installed nougat update to my s6 edge with wiping data, i logged in to my samsung account and tried pairing phone with gear without resetting the gear, bluetooth pairing worked but as soon as i open gear manager it light reset the gear. After reset it restore all my gear data tho, except settings and widget orders.
I still can't remember whether I was logged into my Samsung account when I paired. It did pair after a light reset but Samsung Pay info was gone and I had to re-register my credit card again.
Lol, I had to redo my cards just after taking the pin code off.

So, having the PIN removed, does it just go directly to Samsung Pay without asking for a PIN when you long press the Back button?

With my pin removed. I could no longer use Samsung pay. It basically deleted everything pay information wise to my watch. I redid a pin code. And basically started from scratch again. The bank even sent me a new letter about joining Samsung pay.

Hello everyone,
Got the problem with GPay yesterday, and cannot resolve it yet.
Performed the clean install of 9.0.2, wiped everything, all is working fine except adding my debit card in GPay.
What happens:
I open GPay app, it shows the card linked to my Google account, and says that i must 'Set up in-store payment'. When i tap the card and enter the CVC code, it starts to load something for an instant, but then just returns to the starting screen of the GPay app. Seems like it can't connect to the bank services.
What i tried:
- Linking this card to my wife's GPay - works fine.
- Linking my wife cards to my GPay - fails as mine.
- Flashing different official ROMs - 8.1.0, 9.0.1, 9.0.2.
- Wiping everything, locking bootloader etc.
- Setting the phone anew with a fresh new Google account - GPay returns an error with 'OR-TAPSH-15' code. Google does not show any info about it.
- Talking to tech support of my bank and Google - they only say that my firmware is or was modified and cannot help me because of that.
It seems that I wiped something that I shouldn't. I thought about EFS at first, but the wi-fi and cellular data works fine, and IMEI is shown right.
Maybe there's something that i miss, or there are some thoughts about this situation?

Check playstore/ settings scroll down to the bottom to see if playstore is certified. If not and you still have a locked bootloader Wipe playstore data to become certified.
If you have an unlocked bootloader you need to flash magisk then Erase playstore data to become certified.

Dude you just made my day. I had been battling with the same problems with GPay for past 2 days on my new Pixel 3... Tried just about everything. Switching to Russian, doing all GPay setup and then switching back to English finally resolved everything. If I could buy you a beer - I would

I know it's an old topic, but after upgrading at Android 10 yesterday I lost my Revolut card from Google pay and there is no way to set-up again the in store payments.
Anyone found any new solutions?
Hi I have my 3 bank cards set up with Google Pay and although everything set up fine & looks ok in the app I am unable to make payments using the phone.
I have tried in 3 different shops & keep getting an error, it's a big circle with an exclamation mark with text underneath saying "That didn't work"
I thought it must have been an issue with the terminal, but I have tried in other stores and have the exact same issue on all 3 cards from different banks.
I did have a message pop up a few days after the first attempt saying my phone can now be used to make payments. But I am still getting the same error.
Has anyone come across this error before?
Hard to tell if the issue lies with my bank, Google or Xiaomi hardware.
Settings > network connections> tap and pay > choose hce wallet.
Go to manage app and clear cache for Google pay, Google play service and Google services framework.
Restart phone and set up Google pay again.
Thanks for the tip, I'll give this a try
Still no luck on this.
Gonna have to try a factory reset I think.
I'm using this phone with Google Pay in the UK, had no issues myself. I didn't have to make any settings changes, etc.
(I got my unit from Xiaomi UK)
you can try this.

I am having the same problem (in Italy). I setup everything ang Google Pay tells me that everything is ok, but then when I try to pay a red exclamation mark appears. I tried to enable HCE, uninstall and reinstall Google Pay but no luck. What can I do? @jusumgeezer did you by chance debloat something or have you tried a factory reset?
Just FYI, a factory reset fixed the issue for me, I tried this morning and it worked on the first try!

Hi,
Quick update on this.
I managed to get it sorted with a factory reset.
After resetting I skipped past adding the Google account & went in to the app settings & enabled all permissions for Google pay & disabled any MIUI optimization.
I also did the same for my banking apps before logging in.
After that I was able to add my cards to Google Pay without any issues, following the normal process & now everything works fine with 3 cards added.
I go thought the setup process, the card has previously been used for contactless with Google Pay but if I try setting it up on the phone, Google's part goes through OK, then I accept the issuer terms & it tells me that it can't complete setup for contactless payment. I've tried setting the Secure Element to HCE & SIM wallet but it never completes. The bank tells me that there's no issue from their side
It was purchased from the mi.com/uk site & it has MIUI Global 12.0.2 ROM & it passes SafetyNet.
I had this problem. It was due to using that card on more than 10 devices. I called bank and they wiped all google and apple pay that are linked with it and now works fine. That was with Nationwide.
You star!
I still have my Galaxy S8 & it's set up on that so I disabled it for contactless & tried setting it up again & it asked me to contact the bank so I stopped at that point & left it disabled.
When I tried it on the Poco it then got to the same point as the S8, one call to the bank & it's working!

Glad i can help ???
Hi.
I got my phone yesterday and added my card successfully in Google pay. Tested it in two different stores today with contactless payment, but the terminal didn't even react.
I tested the nfc on my oneplus against my old huawei and at least it tries reading it, so that means the nfc is working I guess.
Have to add that I was using Google pay in these stores before with my old Huawei with no problems.
EDIT: SOLVED
I changed from SIM1 to Google pay in phone settings to make it work.
I have tested it 2 times, no problems. Phone was unlocked , display on
I tried to pay with Google pay twice yesterday. Both times the phone recognized i was trying to pay, but the payment did not get through. Tested with PayPal and CC both times.
Btw i am curious to know wether i have to open the power menu everytime i want to pay? Or does Google Pay still work from every screen?
Works for me everytime, although it says "not set up"
Worked for me when my BL was locked, working fine with unlocked BL and root. Even paid today.

You need to Magisk Hide Google Pay. While you are at it hide root from everything Google.

I did. Still no work
Ok, strike that. Looks it's working now, but only after restarting the phone. Safetynet failed before restarting and now it passes.
Did some more testing today. Tried for an extended period in the store today with no luck. It's not even reacting. Phone is not rooted btw and I unlock the screen when I try it. I try to open the app when doing it also.
I tried pairing my headset with nfc and that works flawlessly.
So weird
Edit: just found this settings. Think that could be it? (See picture)
I too, am experiencing issues with Google Pay. At first, I thought it was my bank card needing my bank to ok it for Google Pay on the new phone. But then my Walgreens points card didn't work either-so it's definitely NFC or Google Pay oriented. I have everything setup correctly. How annoying and weird...
Changing the settings from SIM1 to Google pay made it work, so problem solved!
