PS4/Xbox/Switch Controller Emulator for Android - General Questions and Answers

Does anyone know of an app that allows you to emulate a controller on Android phone? To clarify, i want to play a game on Android which uses a controller (PS4 / Xbox / Switch). But I don't have any of those controllers. I want to emulate the controller input on my phone using my laptop's keyboard / mouse (maybe map them to dpad and analog stick). Is there any way to do this? I would prefer solutions which does not require root, but I am open to all.
Thanks in advance.

An experimental IME is added. It can be controlled with gamepads. It is NOT mandatory to use it. You can combine the application with other IME.

Working beautifully in my smart q t20 tab with an ipega BT controller.
I use option scr invert X and swap X/Y, in out device
Great work! Much better than sixaxis controller and free!!!
This could be a great tool to get some games working on an OUYA. I'll play around with this as soon as I have the time and report back! Thanks!
I have been able to get the ouya control sticks working by swapping x/y axises and inverting the x axis. So far I have set this up for dead tiger and minecraft.
event_strategy.ouya_game_controller_0.stick0.axis_swap=1
event_strategy.ouya_game_controller_0.stick0.axis_x=X
event_strategy.ouya_game_controller_0.stick0.axis_x_invert=1
event_strategy.ouya_game_controller_0.stick0.axis_y=Y

are there any video tutorials? or step by step guides? Honestly I have no idea how to use this and didn't understand the wiki page
Exclude devices
Is there any way to exclude device that is conected beacause you dont want to use it in games?
for example i have Conectet to my ouya wireless usb keyboard and mouse witch i dont use in games...
without some tutorials, this is useless! i appreciate the time you spent making this but most of us here have no idea how to use it.
the videos on youtube show just some people paying games, no real DEMONSTRATION.
i'm using NYKO playpad pro and i can't control most of my games.
this might be the right app.
Awesome!
Thank you Tincore, I must say this app is very useful not only for gaming but for my home entertainment.
I use my S4 connected to TV via MHL adapter and ipega wireless controller, both works pretty good and setup is quite easy for me.
To make it more perfect, it possible to have auto load profile to a specific profile? because I want my non games use specific profile (with hybrid virtual pointer and home,back,etc shortcut so I can easily go around the launcher and other app movie, gallery from my couch) but when launching specific game, I want it to load specific game profile.
Also can you explain extra paid support feature below,
- Add extra touch controls? --> what other extra touch? why is it useful?
- Analog stick input? --> I dont understand, sorry
Each extra feature has different price and almost $25 for all features, do you have premium one with cheaper price
I don't see any overlaid buttons at all when I have my Moga connected to my Nexus 4. Are they supposed to show up automatically when I open Tincore?
Edit - figured it out, have to press buttons to get them to show up, working perfectly now
How do you do to use it with a bluetooth gamepad?
It doesn't seem to recongnize my gamepad if I hit the refresh option on tincore and click que bluetooth sync button on the gamepad, so how is it supposed to connect to the gamepad?

Open Tincore then minimize it. Open the game, launch Tincore while in the game (I use Smart Statusbar to help with this) then map the buttons. It couldn't be easier.
You really need to be more specific if you need help.
help
man.. i really need your help. i have lenovo s920 and.. i tried to pair it with ipega via tincore. but it doesnt work,, just force close. i try blueimez and bt joystick and it just the same. but only tincore can detect my ipega. my you have a solution..
my s920 run in jelly bean 4.2.1.
I still can't get a hang of it of Tincore Keymapper. Im trying mapped keys for touch screen games mc4, shadowgun,fifa, codboz, etc for use with xbox 360 wireless controller on a mk802iv android pc mini. Basically, whenever I make tincore visible to mapped out the touch screen keys, it either pause the game or black it out. I probably gonna have to use post-it notes to tape position of touch keys on my smart tv. Even opening the app is a pain in the ass cause most of the times it just force close out tincore. Plus, the 2 triggers buttons R2 and L2 are unusable in tincore.
Most of times, I learned how to use apps by tinking around for about a few minutes. I have been playing around with Tincore for a week now and still clueless about how to use it. wish there was a dumb-down tutorial on it.

[Q] Shield as Wi-Fi PC Controller?

Preferably as a 360 Controller emulated if possible, for easy compatibility. This thing begs to be used as a PC controller, and I know it does with the official streaming app, but what about for emulators and older games? Is there already a viable solution for this? Wi-fi/Bluetooth would be nice, but I'm not above using USB.

from what I heard via the dev that worked on the project Microsoft gave resistance in in allowing the wifi controller.
If I had to take a guess this would be because the new controllers for XBOX one will use that connection method as microsoft was not happy.
Just a guess here from what I heard
Just like how there are virtual keyboard and mouse apps for phones, there's not really any reason why you couldn't use a Shield as a virtual controller, running software on both the device and the PC.

splashtop + xpadder/controller, possible?

hello guys, I just installed splashtop in my eeepad. it looks wonderful, I was trying to stream pcsx2 (a ps2 emulator). there is a bit lag, but still acceptable. now I'm wondering whether there is any way to connect controller on the dock.
I'm using xpadder to bind my controller with keyboard keys so I don't need to change configuration everytime I installed a game in my pc. I also use x360ce, an emulator to emulate x360 controller for my steam games
it seems my ps2 usb controller is detected by the dock/tablet however I'm not sure what to do next. anyone can give me a hint?

How 2 player NES emulator?

Hi guys I'm trying to play two players on the Nvidia with one Bluetooth controller and one using the Nvidia controller I am using this in Nes.EMU Emulator The farthest I have got is the one player will control the one player person but the Bluetooth controller will control the second player and the first player is there something I'm missing on the set up for this I can understand why the Bluetooth controller is controlling first player to play console games from your couch but is there a way to get it to be it's own second player controller then I can enjoy games like my force thank you for any help or info on this maybe even a set up walk-through or maybe a different emulator I should be using thank you guys in advance for any help
Hi, i'm not to knowledgeable on bluetooth controllers on the Shield or other android devices (such as the nyko line of bluetooth controllers). But the only method (that I have experience with) is with sony's six-axis controller for the ps3. I have two ps3 controllers and rooted multiple of my android devices (Asus tf700 tablet, Nexus S, and Shield) and paired my PS3 controllers by a simple procedure to get both to work on my device (using an app called "Sixaxis Controller"). This is the only method that i have experience with that would let you play with 2 controllers on a 2 player game running on a emulator. Sorry if this isn't the answer you're looking for, but this is the only method i know that works for me.
Requirements:
- rooted device
- two ps3 controllers
- pc
- Sixaxis Controller app

Just using the touchscreen no! However i believe that you can use a bluetooth keyboard+mouse to play
Or a spare PS3/4 controller + Sixaxis app, works fantastic. I've read Xbox 360/One controllers also work but i don't own one to test it.
If you have an OTG USB hub you can also use USB mouse and keyboard (and even USB Ethernet adaptor) to play on GRID.
I think the whole point of the post is to be able to play games on the Shield tablet without using a cumbersome gamepad, keyboard or mouse. A virtual gamepad overlay would be a great addition to the Shield tablet. Even if it doesn't work as well as a real gamepad, at least it's an option. If I'm going somewhere, I don't want to have to drag a MOGA controller with me in addition to the tablet. Would rather just hold the tablet and be done with it.
