Preferably as a 360 Controller emulated if possible, for easy compatibility. This thing begs to be used as a PC controller, and I know it does with the official streaming app, but what about for emulators and older games? Is there already a viable solution for this? Wi-fi/Bluetooth would be nice, but I'm not above using USB.

from what I heard via the dev that worked on the project Microsoft gave resistance in in allowing the wifi controller.
If I had to take a guess this would be because the new controllers for XBOX one will use that connection method as microsoft was not happy.
Just a guess here from what I heard
Just like how there are virtual keyboard and mouse apps for phones, there's not really any reason why you couldn't use a Shield as a virtual controller, running software on both the device and the PC.

pocket pc as a bluray remote for ps3
anyone know if this is possable?
or know if its allready been done?

now that would be a killer app!
That's IR, right? Not the system's bluetooth?
http://www.novii.tv/
this works as remote for most my home electronics
it's ir only and ir range of mine and most pda's is very very poor
PS3 uses propriatary bluetooth, no iR. So the only option right now is to buy the PS3 remote, unless someone can open the sony propriatary bluetooth.
PS has no iR, all works based on bluetooth, hence the question
Using a pocket pc as a bluray remote for PS3 over bluetooth would indeed be awesome.

id rather go the other way and use my dualshock 3 as a controller for my PPC emus
Any luck on this? There's gotta be a way to get them to sync up some how and allow control options.
This really will be useful, I mean how many people can controll their PS3 with their cellphones =] ?
I dont know much of how to make such an app but id gladly contribute with graphics and/or testing if someone has a way to do this.
I really don't think this would be possible or there would be bluetooth drivers for getting the SIXAXIS controller to work on the PC... there are drivers but you have to plug it in with the USB cable so obviously no one has found a way to dig into the bluetooth stack on the ps3.
EDIT: I'm sure it's "possible" but improbable based on my above statement
I have the logitech diNova which uses bluetooth to contol your pc and ps3

that's a keyboard right? that brings up an interesting concept! Just have the ppc bind to ps3 as a keyboard and make a little touch app that passes keystrokes?
I think the whole challenge here is to get the bluetooth on the ppc to accept connections as peripheral device services.
Another vote for awesome. I have a Logitech BT keyboard that I use on the PS3 and PC. The keyboard has full control over the PS3 including movie playback.
any news? i would really appreciate a keyboard emulator on pocket pcs using bluetooth. a special playstation 3 hack would be the burner.
I know you can connect your bluetooth headset to the PS3... Should be able to use on chat with friends but I've never tried.... Sony also released a headset for online games that can connect to mobiles so I wonder if anyone has tried connecting their sony remote to pc, would probably need drivers though to use properly if at all...

If you look at their website, it looks like that needs custom hardware that connects to your AV equipment. It doesn't really explain how it controls it.

It's possible and has been done. The SIXAXIS has been in use for a while now. You can even have the rumble/vibrate function (dualshock controllers) work on a PC recently.

Someone please come out with an app for ppcs!! Blackberries are about to have this product already.

I know the Touchpad has the SNES emulator and I was wondering if anyone out there know if there is a bluetooth SNES controller out there? Or can I somehow obtain a microusb controller? Playing Super Nintendo games on a touchscreen is not the best experience.
I am able to bluetooth connect a ps3 remote to my evo running CM. Maybe when they get android on it this might be possible. Not sure if it is possible to due with WebOS.
The problem isn't the pairing of the device, its that the app doesn't allow configurable buttons. If it did, we could use the external keyboard... Maybe write the dev..?
maybe they could do it like snes4iphone where you can pair a wiimote with the classic controller. webos snes is in early stages though, change the skin to snes controller, that helped some.
I have a bunch of .smc roms. I loaded them onto my web server and tried downloading them thru the browser, but it doesn't "save" them. I guess I need to transfer them via USB?

If not that, try your box.net account...
yeah I had problems with that too. Just ended up doing it via USB as I was at my pc anyway.
I actually found the on-screen pad on the TP really easy to use compared to any device Ive tried previously... Obviously using a real pad would be preferable though!!
Can I use a bluetooth wimote or bluetooth playstation controller with the Note 10.1. I would like to play some old Nintendo games I used to play back in the day with the emulators. I read that you can use bluetooth controllers when playing games which I would prefer since the whole on screen controls don't appeal to me and I find it difficult. My question is do I need root in order to set this up or can I do it with stock on the 10.1. I heard of some sixaxis app or something but don't know if I need it. looking for some help since I'm sure others on this board know a lot more about this than I do. If anyone has any other advice for me...I'm all ears. Thanks

I'm not sure about the Wii mote, but the Sixaxis app is specific to playstation controllers I believe and requires root so i doubt it would work on the stock 10.1.

+1 for this query.
On the TF101, you just needed to connect a PS3 pad via the USB port and press some buttons to verify it worked. This in turn synced the controller. After this switching on the tablets blue tooth and pressing the PS logo on the PS3 controller would allow it to work via blue tooth. No root or sixaxis app needed. I'm guessing that won't work here?
What about purchasing the usb connector kit for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 that supposedly works with the Note 10.1. Get the connection kit plug in the usb controller into the usb port on the connection kit and see if it allows it to synch with bluetooth like you listed above. I would love to know if this works.
If you want to play Nintendo games I suggest the NES.emu emulator from the play store. It will discover wii motes in app and you can use them to play. Works very well with no root.

PS3 Sixaxis controller needs root and the app. You can always use an xbox controller wired or wireless (with dongle via usb and app) more work though. Or connect a bluetoothe keyboard or wired keyboard.
As for emulators I recomend that you get droidemu lite and support the developer and get the full support as this emulator has all worthy emulators in it except n64 and ps1. He is very responsive to issues and fixed issues in a timely manner.
I just tested with mine and I was able to connect a Wii Remote using WiimoteController in less than 5 minutes. I tried it for a few minutes in GTA3, no problems so far.
Can confirm Sony PS3 wireless bluetooth controller works with SixAxis but requires root. Aside from the convenience of wireless controller it also extends the life of your port connector from wear and tear.
I was looking for an app that would emulate an XBOX 360 Controller on android and make it work via wifi to my PC.
It's like this apps of Mouse/Keyboard remote, so I could play away from PC, like laying on the bed. Is there an app like that?
Hello,
I never seen that kind of app.
How could an android (phone?) device replace a gamepad?
Or so, how could you use it?
To have an idea, test a snes emulator and you'll see that's not realy playable without true buttons/cross/sticks...
I would buy a wireless gamepad for computer or use a PS3 controller with a BT dongle.

The same way there's a WiFi Mouse & Keyboard app could be one WiFi Controller app.
I agree it's not as comfortable as a real gamepad but you get used to it. I have no problems playing games on ePSXe for example.

So I'm sure this question has been asked and answered but I'd like to use a PS3 controller (or possibly another Bluetooth controller) on my Shield but I'm not sure how. I wanna be able to sit on the couch and play emulators without looking at one screen in my face and be able to play games multiplayer. Help would me much appreciated. I'm semi-new to Android. Before owning the shield I had a phone for a bit last year but couldn't get a controller to work on that either.
I also would like to try that.
with ipega or moga controller.
Don't know about the PS3 controller, but I use the OnLive BY controller and use the HDMI port on SHIELD to my TV...

Yes, works great.
You can use also a Xbox controller with a USB receiver.
If you want to use the PS3 controller you have to root your shield and use the famous sixaxis app from google play. To use the Xbox controller you don't need to root, because you're actually connecting the receiver to the USB in the shield.
Now that I tried both I prefer PS3 controller, because involves less cables and with the sixaxis app you can map buttons and change a lot of things.
I created a thread about gamepads here:
