Hi,
I have big problem with upload when I using mobile connection. See attach file of SpeedTest. The upload is very low (130mps down and 1mps up). I tried an hard reset without results. Same SIM on another phone have no problem.
Anyone with the same problem? I have the last official rom global 12.0.4.
Another problem Is gmail notification. No way to have in real time. No problem with other app. I tried to set no restriction on battery usage and High priority in notification.
Thanks
Does your network use the bands that are supported by the X3?

Yes the connection on the smartphone Is 4G or 4G+. Whitout the correct band is impossible to have 130mps download.
The problem Is only in upload.
Anyone could post a Speed test from a poco x3?
Thanks
On Saturday I measured 130 Mbit/s download, 31 Mbit/s upload, unloaded latency 46 ms, loaded 172 ms via fast.com.
Not bad considering my network is a Cat 4 LTE which goes up to max. 150/50.
Also, I noticed on your screenshot you are using LTE without carrier aggregation, might be the cause.

Hi everyone!
I'm using Nexus S 9023 on Softbank (Japan). I used speedtest.net and the speed was extremely slow, only 0.75Mpbs for dowload and 1.05Mbps for upload.
I wonder how to check if my phone can use HSPA or not? Or is it softbank slow or Nexus S doesn't support HSPA on softbank?
Note: I try to download some file and check the network status. It only shows UTMS

You are aware that you are sharing the cell bandwidth with all the Japanese people in same cell, right? Just remember that everyone of them is surfing 2chan just when you do your speed test

It can use HSPA and it does, obviously. Standard UMTS would only give 384kBit/s downspeed max.

Thanks for the thorough reply.
I'm from Vietnam and the networks in my country typically reaches around 3.0Mbps for downlink and 1-2Mbps for uplink. So I thought in Japan in should be somewhat better.
I can only say that Softbank Mobile has a somewhat turbulent past. It was first J-Phone, later bought by Vodafone, which lost customers.
There is that passage on wikipedia that says "Vodafone 3G failed to attract subscribers because Vodafone cut back investments in 3G services in Japan in 2002/3".
I don't know how to interpret that statement, but it could mean that they didn't put enough money into the network.
Anyway, they sold the business to Softbank in 2006 and I have no idea how things evolved from there.
However, the lowest specified HSDPA speed i found specified is 1.2Mbps (for the whole cell, or maybe for 5 codes, see table at https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/HSDPA)

I do get speed more than 384kbps even when I am speed testing and the phone information shows that I am on UMTS, I am just guessing that the update is not that fast. Coz I do get HSDPA like 50% of the time.
I just received the new Nexus 5 (dec 17). I am using it with StraightTalk (AT&T network).
Since I activated the phone, I am experiencing slow internet and connectivity issues.
The network indicator on my phone indicates 'LTE' so I know I am connected on the LTE network.
I used the Speedtest app to determine my internet speed. Here is the kind of speed I have (in download):
With 1 bar signal strength: < 1 Mbs
With 2 bar signal strength: 1 to 3 Mbs
With 3 bar signal strength: 3 to 5 Mbs
With 4 bar signal strength: 7 to 15 Mbs
In average, I have no more than 2 to 5 Mbs in San Francisco. Strangely my upload speed seems almost normal, and is always higher than my download speed (as high as 5 times higher), which is weird.
It seems rather slow to me for a LTE (4G) connection.
People are reporting speed as high as 25 Mbs with the Nexus 5 (even on StraightTalk), and 15 Mbs with only 2 bars of signal.
I know many things could explain a slow internet on a mobile phone: your local LTE network, the setting of your account by your network provider, your network setting in the phone (APN), a defective phone, etc.
In order to eliminate most of these possibilities, I would like to know if anyone is using the Nexus 5 with StraightTalk in the San Francisco area and is having higher average speed than what I have?
If it's the case, I would have to conclude that my phone is faulty.
Thanks!
For information, my APN setting is the following (recommended by StraightTalk Costumer Support):
NAME Straight Talk
APN tfdata
Port 80
MMSC mms-tf.net
MMS PROXY mms3.tracfone.com
MMS PORT 80
MCC 310
MNC 410
just because your lte can be as fast as 25mbps download speed, it depends on your locality, your distance from the nearest tower, how busy your local connection is.. among other things. if someone else is using the exact same service as you, but are in a different location of san fran, and are getting 35mbps download speed, and you are just getting 5mbps download in your location, thats still normal. im in nyc, sometimes i get 38mbps download speed, sometimes i only get 7-8mbps, depends on my exact location and how busy that local network is.

Hi simms22, thanks for your input, it's appreciated.
My understanding was also that bandwidth will depend on the local network (as well as all the other things you mentioned), for example att/straighttalk network in Miami is different than att/straighttalk in San Francisco. That's why I asked if there was anyone using the Nexus 5 with StraightTalk (or any provider using the AT&T network, such as Aio or GoPhone) in the San Francisco area? And what internet speed they were getting on average? I am curious to know if it would be similar to what I am getting: 2 to 5 mbs on average, and never higher than 15 mbs...
SF, ahh, San Francisco.
I thought you were talking about Santa Fe.
Just curious about everyone's thoughts on how it's running on TMO specifically.
I've got band 12, so I'm happy
Send to be running smooth, love the permissions manager, and the adoptable storage

I'm getting 9.94 Mbps on T-Mobile band 12 I'm in south Florida if that makes a difference.
Sideloaded update today, on TMO in central VA, no issues thus far. Can't confirm band 12, not around here yet from what I've seen.

Hi there,
Would you mind sharing where the settings for Wifi Calling are? I can't seem to find it.
I updated by removing the SIM (tmobile).
Thanks

WiFi Calling and VOLTE are two different things. WiFi calling does not appear to be available at this time, and the VOLTE setting was default to "on" for me... it is in Settings/More/Cellular Networks

Ah thanks. So I'm guessing the "Enhanced 4G LTE Mode" is VOLTE.
Thanks.

That's not surprising. Band 12 is primarily for coverage rather than for capacity. In most (all?) places, T-Mobile has more spectrum available for LTE on the AWS (Band 4) side, so it will usually be faster. But AWS, being a higher frequency, doesn't have as good building penetration or spatial reach as Band 12, so you'll get coverage where you wouldn't with Band 4.
Anyone have trouble sending or receiving mms with hangouts?

There's a hidden WiFi Calling setting that some apps, like Nova Launcher, can launch. The on/off switch moves when you tap it but it's not hooked up to anything on T-Mo

I'm having the same issue with T Mobile in the Atlanta area. Every certain amount of calls the audio is choppy. So I'm seeing a large improvement in my signal strength I'm not seeing band 12.

I am getting LTE-A in Net monster app after the latest 10.2.10 update in India. Anyone else getting it?
Update: I rooted my phone and viewed the RFNV CA configs. It was set as 0 means no CA. I set the required value, first for intra band, and then for interband. Both of them didn't work. Confirmed this in Network Signal Guru App. So sadly no CA for us cz of hardware limitations.

Net monster doesn't prove u have it. It does say that it's supported in your area. I have checked the carriers with Network Signal Guru App. There is no carrier Aggregation. I even checked the speed comparing with poco which has 4G+. speed is really low compared to that.

If NSG doesn't work on your phone, you can maybe get modem log from Xiaomi. I have instruction here: https://mt-tech.fi/en/how-to-get-4g-supported-ca-combinations-from-your-android-phone/ (scroll down to Xiaomi section).
If you can send log to me, i can put this device to my cacombos.com website where you can easily see supported Carrier Aggregation combinations of many devices.
I've had my Mi 10 Ultra for a few months now, running Xiaomi.EU ROM 11.18 beta. My service with T-Mobile has been ok.
Granted, I didn't expect super fast speeds giving the lack of US bands this phone supports. I've been getting on average around 20 Mbps download. How's everyone else's service? Are you using the BYOD T-Mobile apn settings?
Edit* I'm on 11.18 beta. Not 11.25
Pretty good, I usually average around 30-40 mbps down on their "5G" network.
I use mint mobile mvno, so not sure if I get a speed cap. But I programmed it to T-Mobile apn settings.
I just switched to Mint. It seems like the speeds are the same, when compared to T-Mobile prepaid. You said you're using the regular T-Mobile apn settings instead of Mint?
Just used the settings from here:
T-Mobile data & APN settings
Learn how to adjust your device settings when you bring your own device to T-Mobile.
www.t-mobile.com
If you go to the sim apn settings it should already show up there and you can just select tmobile-fast.
Even though this phone has Band 41, and I'm often in supposedly Band 41 areas, I don't get Band 41 speeds which are said to be 200Mbs+. Anyone else?
I just did a speed test with my GF's iphone 12 vs my Mi 10 Ultra. iphone got 91Mbps, Mi 10 Ultra 20Mbps. So the band 41 5G clearly is not working, which is disappointing.
It's all about band combos:
https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/comments/j10fg5
I've never broken past 40 mbps on T-Mobile network.
You also need to see if your local area is actually using band 41 for 5g.

Thanks great find. I didn't know that. It's fairly poor, fairly slow service. Oh well.
I noticed with the newest update for the xiaomi.eu rom on weekly, has resulted in slower speeds with Mint/T-Mobile. Anyone else notice this?
