Spare android device as a wireless android auto - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

Hi,
Is there a way to use an unused android device as a wireless android auto device? My car does not have wireless android auto and I have a spare phone (that is rooted) on android. I would really appreciate streaming android auto from my phone to my rooted device that would be linked to my car by USB connection
Thanks

Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 - Android Auto Comparability

So I popped into my local Halfords to take a look at there car steros. As I am looking for one that has Andriod Auto on it.
The one I looked at was the Pioneer AVH-X8700BT
Which supports Andriod Auto.
So I install the Andriod Auto App..and plug in the usb cable.
Then wait ..any nothing
What is the point in Android if it simply does not work??
i want to use my mobile in my car I can bet your money an Iphones Car Play will work..
Any thoughts on Android Auto?
Cheers

Android head unit and s7 mirroring issue.

I have an android head unit 5.1.1 and a s Samsung s7 7.0
I have tried using easy connected but it will not connect it says something about not having access the the serial number, It has been upgraded to the latest version and my phone is up-to-date and have usb debugging turned on.

I'd like to use [Android 4.1+]Proxy/GateWay for Android Auto to get wireless android auto on a VW Mk7 Golf MIB2 infotainment head unit. I don't yet know much about android sticks. I prefer to use an android device that has no battery since it will be plugged into the car 24/7. The AA gateway author had some success with MK809V and MK808B. I was wondering if there is anything newer/faster that would also be recognized by the car's head unit via the usb cable? Support for 5 ghz wifi would also be good.

I'm interested in the same thing. To prevent stuff blocking android auto functionality I think it owuld be best if it is possible to install a custom rom on the stick so there is a plain clean android that is not restricted to media stuff or something or missing settings for wifi hotspot, usb, AA in the menu.
But this forum does not have the explicit custom rom section, so I didn't find what I am looking for.
Does anyone know about sticks that are easy to root, open bootloader and maybe from a known vendor?

Android Auto

I tried connect with the phone by opening Android Auto in my phone and connecting with Original USB cable with Sony XAV 3000 in my car.But the phone is not getting connected.Sony is saying USB device is not connected. Also the Android Auto emblem in Sony is not seen when trying to connect. How can it be made possible to connect to Android Auto?

Connect to Blaupunkt stereo via mirrorlink

I just bought this unit and it uses mirrorlink. When I connect the cable it asks my phone for USB debugging and I say yes. I am supposed to at this point be able to find mirrorlink in connections. It never shows up anywhere on the phone. Is this a Oneplus issue? I know the phone works with android auto as I have used it in other vehicles. Blaupunkt that I have only has mirrorlink as an option. Any help appreciated .
