Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 - Android Auto Comparability - General Questions and Answers

So I popped into my local Halfords to take a look at there car steros. As I am looking for one that has Andriod Auto on it.
The one I looked at was the Pioneer AVH-X8700BT
Which supports Andriod Auto.
So I install the Andriod Auto App..and plug in the usb cable.
Then wait ..any nothing
What is the point in Android if it simply does not work??
i want to use my mobile in my car I can bet your money an Iphones Car Play will work..
Any thoughts on Android Auto?
Cheers

Android Auto

Hi,
Did somebody try to use an android auto function? My car (Peugeot 308SW 2018) and the phone not connecting with latest (8.1.0) android version. I tried to enable an USB debugging (as workaround recommendation), but nothing changed...
Have you other idea or working solution?
thx!

Yes, it works perfectly in my mid 2017 Kia Cee'd SW. Check if you have android auto enabled(i have the option to disable it and the apple car play). Also, the usb cable is working properly when connecting to a pc?
At the car side is enabled, at phone side i didnt found any additional options...
The best result was the android auto icon at phone appears and disappears continously with 2-3 different cables.
Is it possible the car head unit firmware not compatible with N7P latest SW version?

Doubt it. The car is from this year, it seems unlikely(to me) that the firmware wasn't up to date.
Stupid question, you have the android auto app installed on the phone right? Android has a Car Mode but to use android auto you need to install the app 1st(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.projection.gearhead&hl=en). If the link says that you have no compatible device, download the latest version from here(https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/android-auto/)
For almost a year I thought my head-unit wasn't up to date as the android auto would freeze, the app would say that the head-unit wasn't up to date, waze would display random artefacts, etc.
Now with the N7p it is butter smooth, no funky stuff and way more responsive that when I was trying to use it with my Redmi 4 Prime(same cable but with a micro-b to usb c adapter)...
No issues with AA in Seat Ateca 2018.
Everything works like a charm.
For phonecalls, you need to select default sim first, otherwise the call hangs on a sim selection prompt on the phone.
I write to nokia support and they send:
- clear the bluetooth cache
- do a soft reset
after this steps working fine...
what is Bluetooth cache?

You found here, how to clear: http://support.hereplus.me/hc/en-us/articles/115003497328-Clearing-your-Bluetooth-Cache-Android-/
Do you install android auto app on your smartphone ? some lands doesn't have android auto on the play store, so you need to download manually on apk mirror web site (arm64 version)
A good quality cable is also needed.
I'm having similar issues.
This phone won't work in both my VW cars.
If I clear all settings it works fine.
I get to my destination, unplug and then when I head out on my next trip it doesn't. Just a blank screen on the head unit and the phone has the green screen saying launch Android Auto on the head unit.
Tried the BT cache clearing as above. Will try a factory reset of the phone shortly too otherwise wait for pie and if still no go then sell the phone which I will miss
Though can't work without Android Auto now
It is definitely problem with Nokia 7 plus. In my car it connect and after few minutes black screen and solution is only disconnect and connect again.

I've found the bluetooth with my N7P poor anyway. This is my second one and the same as the first.
All HMD will do is send you a list of the bluetooth protocols they support.
So you may need to change your car ?
My 7+ works perfectly now.
Enable USB debugging and disable the extreme power saving settings.

android tv sticks that can send data over usb to car infotainment for android auto?

https://forum.xda-developers.com/ge...droid-3-0-proxy-gateway-android-auto-t3813163
I'd like to use [Android 4.1+]Proxy/GateWay for Android Auto to get wireless android auto on a VW Mk7 Golf MIB2 infotainment head unit. I don't yet know much about android sticks. I prefer to use an android device that has no battery since it will be plugged into the car 24/7. The AA gateway author had some success with MK809V and MK808B. I was wondering if there is anything newer/faster that would also be recognized by the car's head unit via the usb cable? Support for 5 ghz wifi would also be good.

I'm interested in the same thing. To prevent stuff blocking android auto functionality I think it owuld be best if it is possible to install a custom rom on the stick so there is a plain clean android that is not restricted to media stuff or something or missing settings for wifi hotspot, usb, AA in the menu.
But this forum does not have the explicit custom rom section, so I didn't find what I am looking for.
Does anyone know about sticks that are easy to root, open bootloader and maybe from a known vendor?

Connect to Blaupunkt stereo via mirrorlink

I just bought this unit and it uses mirrorlink. When I connect the cable it asks my phone for USB debugging and I say yes. I am supposed to at this point be able to find mirrorlink in connections. It never shows up anywhere on the phone. Is this a Oneplus issue? I know the phone works with android auto as I have used it in other vehicles. Blaupunkt that I have only has mirrorlink as an option. Any help appreciated .

problem android auto ...

Good morning to all, first of all I introduce myself to you. My name is Juan Manuel, I live in Buenos Aires Argentina and I work in a NOC of a telecommunications company.
The reason for my consultation is as follows. I honestly don't know what to do anymore.
I have a Pioneer AVH-Z5050TV stereo and a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus Cellphone. And there is no way to run Android Auto properly since I bought both computers. No one gives me a single answer. Neither Samsung, nor Pioneer, nor Google.
When I connect the cell phone via USB cable to the stereo it lifts me for 5 seconds Android Auto and automatically disconnects and closes the application, I have to reconnect it so that the same thing happens. I did a lot of tests.
1. I did a factory reset. IT DID NOT WORK !!
2. Update the Stereo Firmware. IT DID NOT WORK !!
3. Buy 2 original Samsung data cables. IT DID NOT WORK !!
4. I lowered the Waze, so that it does not automatically lift the Google Maps and see if that was the problem and it persists.
A possible solution that you find is not the best thing to do. It was to grab an old Samsung J5 cell phone and with my Note 10 Plus give it internet through the Network Anchor and thus lift Android Auto from the J5. It works super slow but it works.
Something similar happened to this Google service and this cell phone? If so, sorry for creating this post but I didn't find it.
Thank you all for your time and I await everyone's answers.
Greetings.

Spare android device as a wireless android auto

Hi,
Is there a way to use an unused android device as a wireless android auto device? My car does not have wireless android auto and I have a spare phone (that is rooted) on android. I would really appreciate streaming android auto from my phone to my rooted device that would be linked to my car by USB connection
Thanks
