Hello,
is there a way to use the VoIP WM6 embedded client with this smartphone? It seems that WM6 Standard (smartphone edition) does not come with VoIP support default. Does anyone know of a way to install VoIP client that comes with the PDA-version of WM6 (WM6 Professional)?
Thanks a lot, an answer would save me a lot of troubles,

Anyjoy anybody ??
have you tried to copy the relevant files?
which are mentioned int thread: {SOLVED} How to configure VoIP/SIP client in WM6.
in the \Windows directory:
*
* ipdialplan.xml
* dnsapi.dll
* voipphonecanvas.dll
* rtcdll.dll
or checked the registry, for any voip relevant entries,
maybe you only will have to set a registry and than it might work (e.g. like the gps component)
but i dont have a vox yet, im only guessing.
I think that vox doesnt support voip doesnt mean wm 6 standard doesnt support voip, it may mean that htc did not include the voip component.
other wm 6 standard smartphones might have it in the future.
its a posting related to the ppc version (since wm6 its called professional), i read that it should work properly even with a 200mhz wizard
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299950
it shouldn't have been removed from the standard (smartphone version)

Some info on this:
I have used the WM6VoIP.cab posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303558 - post nr. 2, and although at the beginning it looked like nothing happened, after changing the Home default view (start/settings/home screen) to something else (not sure what i did and dont have the VOX anymore), Internet Calling appeared as a plugin.
Hope this helps anybody...

forgot to mention that I setup the VoIP settings and used it and it works flawlessly. The only problem is that the sound goes in the back and not the earpiece, but this is smth that we should still investigate.
I've added some instructions to the VOX wiki. Maybe some find it usefull and could expand it regarding the IPDialplan.xml (A non VOX but WM6 specific topic on that would sure be helpful).

Not sure yet and I am in desperate need of a solution. I will try to find out some more reading other threads about the VoIP settings here at xdadev. In case any of you finds a way to make the sound go in the front earpiece for this type of smartphone, pls email me at ionutz (at) pdamobile.ro.
Thanks a bunch!
Hi there.
Although the phone somehow registers to the VOIP service, I always get a "Network Error" when I try to place a call.
Could be provider dependant, maybe with some others it works...
Anyhow, just to let me understant, would you mind posting the name of your provider (or PM it to me if against the rules) so that I check with them?
Other thing, your today plugin stays as well on "Searching", right?
Thanks,
Ka.
Hi,
Regarding the the sound coming out of the back of the phone instead of the front, it is also happening to me with Skype so that may indicate it is something to do with the way the handset is setup by default and not the SIP add-in, maybe a registry setting.
Hi
Anyone found a solution to the VoIP sound coming out the speaker rather than the earpiece?
Regards
Phil

Hi Folks,
its been an awesome time for me and my german o2 tornado (xda phone) since the wm6 rom releases.
seriously, didnt expact that few bugs and problems
but i've got 2 questions that, if answered, would make the roms (almost) perfect for me:
1. any chage to change the language of voice command?
Its not a problem for me to say "appointment" or "at work" but the german names are a bit funny to pronounce in english (my brother Tobias is called Toe-be-us for example)
2. live messenger has some really nice gimmicks, for example sending pictures. but against the wm5 version chosing the camera symbol doesnt start the nice new camera software but some kind of camera inside the pictures and videos application. know what i mean? how can i link the camera symbol to the camera.exe?
Had to change from 3 problems to 2 cause i solved one myself (application buttons)
Anyone ideas about the other 2?
Thanxs to anyone who improves the nice little smartphones..

I would love to have voice command in my own language but I am not brave enough to assume microsoft is working on alternative languages right now. It is not like changing the interface language. You must almost start from scratch for each additional language. Still, german may have a chance. did you check the microsoft web page? maybe they have some information there.
Ad 1. I am pretty sure it is not possible. I have to use Polish Vista bundled with my laptop The operating system is localised but the voice command of the OS is not. Exactly the same with opera browser. If desktop operating system do not support other languages natively I would not count on the portable ones.
Perhaps you can help
I downloadd the official rom from HTC for my Tytn. I reinstalled favorite program Microsoft Voice Command 1.6. Everything works perfectly except for the incoming notification CID. I have set VC to announe incoming calls through the speaker. I do not use any Bluetooth headsets. Are there any tweaks or patches available. thanks
How to add the “Voice Edition” item into Contact Menu for voice record?
Microsoft_Voice_Command_US_SP_1.60 seems to work under WM6 (now ROM for tornado dopod Asia WWE ) with my Qtek8310, but I can’t manage to add the “Voice Edition” item into Contact Menu for voice record.
Any idea?
Anyone have the German resources for MS Voice command?

Can you explain this? What does Voice Command have to do with recording? I dont see any use of a Voice Command menu item as it works without any neccessary recording for each contact.
And again: anyone ideas how to change language to recognize german phonemes?
Have to bring my question more on top again.. sorry for pushin another thread on page 2 though..
Is MS Voice Control part of WM6 or still separate program. If so, how did Phil integrate it to his ROM? Can i do the same with a german version?
Any clues? german voice recognition would be so great for me and i guess all the other krauts in here
I just installed MsVoiceCommand FR SP60,
There was an error at the end of the installer.
BUT it works ! Now my WWE WM6 ROM speaks French
Please can you put a link for MsVoiceCommand FR SP60
i would love a link for this FR version too, i'm having a hard time with mine currently
tks
Has anyone come up with a solution to route **INCOMING** VoIP audio to the internal speaker on the S710/VOX?
The vanilla S710/Vox VoIP install (at below link) works great out of the box, except I can find no way to redirect incoming audio to the earpiece. The conversation always plays through the speakerphone.

There’s lots of talk about this problem on the Development and Hacking board—but I cant find a published solution—For **ANY** wifi enabled handset—even with cooked ROMs.
Any suggestions-- ??
THANKS.
Same Problem
Please, Help !!!
This problem is only with this phone, urgent VoIP Services please...
TAL
OK-
Ive found two solutions-- unfortunately, both for **PPC**.
Glofiish X500—WM5 non cooked:
http://eten-users.eu/index.php?showtopic=9556&hl=
SPV M3100—WM6 cooked:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1400247&postcount=783
Several posts on different boards indicate this is an **OS** problem. Seems to me if this is true we are out of luck until an official ROM update (because there are no S710/Vox SP ROM Hacks out there).
On the otherhand—
The implementation may lie in the VoIP .dll’s which may be worth looking at since there are some floating around for SP's and PPC's.
Can anyone **CONCEPTUALLY** confirm the above?
Of course—
There may be an temporary workaround like the Glofiish solution.
Thanks.
From a posting on Modaco: would the headset solve the noise/privacy issue? I have not yet tested (I use Skype) but it seems like a reasonable workaround.
This issue is NOT SPECIFICALLY related to the S710/VOX!
THIS IS A CROSS POST-- TO CLOSE THE ISSUE IN THIS THREAD--
I EXPECT A NEW ISSUE-RELATED THREAD IN THE "DEVELOPMENT AND HACKING BOARD" SOMETIME SOON. THOSE GUYS KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING-- SO I THINK THATS WHERE THE ISSUE BELONGS.
And I Quote from Windows CE Networking Team WebLog:
http://blogs.msdn.com/cenet/archive/...ws-mobile.aspx
“… On some Windows Mobile 6 SKUs, VOIP (Voice over IP) is supported. This functionality is based on RTC. So, RTCDll.dll (RTC binary) will be available on some of the WM 6 SKUs. However, on these SKUs, RTC is not released as an SDK, but solely to provide the VOIP functionality. So if an application wishes to use RTC on these SKUs, it is free to do so, but that scenario won’t be supported by Microsoft. …” (May 23, 2007)
My reading of this is simply:
In order to “correct” the speakerphone problem, you gotta “correct” the rtcdll.dll.
And since all we have is a Microsoft binary release of the .dll (there’s no source out there, correct?) the only solution would be to write a new handset-aware (hardware-integrated, lets say, native) sip-client. And that’s not trivial without rtcdll.dll source.
That’s basically why the ROM-chefs havent come up with a solution… yet.
Or:
Is it as simple as getting the correct registry-settings?
I think not. I can think of several reasons why there’s likely no easy/simple registry fix.
Hi, I have one small problem. About one month ago, I found a small SW, that disabled keyboard backlight on my HTC Polaris. It actually didn't disable it in strict meaning - it only makes the "light time" shortest possible. So, when I touched wheel, it "blinked" (or how could I describe it - it switched light on for few msec). If I am not mistaken, it was on 4pda.ru forum and it was really simple to use - when I ran that executable, this program was switched on and by running it again, it terminated. So, if anyone has an idea, what is the name of that app - or better - has it, please, upload it somewhere / tell me, where it is. Thanks a lot
PS - sorry for grammar mistakes, I am terribly tired
Shortlight
I guess you are referring to this app: Shortlight.
@de vangestel: Yess, I thank you very much
Maybe this should be added to Polaris FAQ? It may be often needed.
Do you know where I can download this app?
On 4pda.ru, I must be registered, but I can't because I cannot write a captcha in Cyrilic with an azerty keyboard !

sorry no, make sure you leave them feedback though.
I think there's some issues with it not working on non 0409 (WWE) english roms
Personally I love netfront 4, but it's very alpha state at the moment, and not for most people..
Lets hope they actually get around to releasing a final version of it this time around.
Thank you for your reply
an Alpha version ..if it is truth..
Jesus! I think it's a very bsic problem, why the netfront dev-team let it happen? I can't believe it ..
So sad~~~
Cause I'm wait this version for a long time..
I just leave them a comment told this problem, hope they can fix it ASAP.

Hey guys , good news ! Due to these scrambled characters show me blank square, So I guess maybe it needs some font setting and try to find something like "fonts" in netfront registry.
Anyway, I just found a way to fix this problem
Please use registry editor change this:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Access\NFB40WM\AppPref\
DefaultFont Value : \windows\tahoma.ttf,Tahoma
