Display issue - Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro) Questions & Ans

Hi all,
I have issue with display at low brightness. There is very noticeable green tint on top and a less noticeable green tint. It's most visible on gray background, but you can see it on other colors as well. Does anyone else have this issue?*

I guess this is an original xiaomi rom, if it is, it is a known bug you can try a reset.

Yes, it's stock rom.
What do you mean by reset? Factory reset to delete all?

Don't format your phone because u can't fix that with format, it's not a bug... If u want to know more about green tint on amoled panel read this article https://techpp.com/2020/08/06/oneplus-nord-amoled-green-tint/amp/

Very interesting article, thanks!
Is there a way to reduce this tint at least. There are a lot of options in the settings - dark mode, reading mode, anti-flicker, color scheme.
Does anyone know which improve this tint issue?

I got my device 4 days ago and the green tint is so annoying in low brightness scenarios... Strongly thinking to replace POCO F2 PRO for MI 10T PRO.
I tried a lot of options, and the only thing that reduces (still visible) green tint is to turn off anti-flickering.
Settings -> Display -> Anti-Flicker mode -> Regular

I forgot to specify that this concerned EEA Rom.

Basically what you say is that the green tint issue is only happening on EEA rom, not on GLOBAL rom?
Do you have any proof?

no, i saw a post about it on c.mi.com where the admin replied "this is a known bug".
Besides, I just saw that there were threads on this subject on XDA.

I don't think they can fix that trough update, maybe if they reduce minimum brightness so green tint will be less visible.

just get FKU and use the colour profiles to adjust it, all the screens will be slightly different colour depending on manufacturing run so you have to tweak it to normal manually
from your OTHER thread thats the same.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54123818&postcount=4
every single screen will variate, every one will be slightly different. and the screen color itself will change depending what kind of light you are standing in. his yellow screen might look much better in sunlight or fluorescent light, then in the incandescent light you are in.
What is FKU?
The yellow screen will get whiter with use. Give it a couple weeks

Franco Kernel Updater... it's one of several kernal tweakers. A custom kernal like Franco allows you to change the color profile or if you install ElementalX, you can choose a pre-defined cooler color profile during the installation without the need for a kernel tweaker.

If you ask me, the right one looks a little bluish :silly:
If it does wither away (I doubt it), well and good otherwise you will need a custom kernel which supports gamma calibration by which you can set profiles to change the color.

I don't think it will but this is the perfect opportunity to test it.
OP, report back to us in a couple weeks if there are any changes. I think that most people's eyes just adjust to the slight yellow hue but with another screen to compare against, the difference will remain visible.

This is similar to what I have. My GF has a z3 and since mine got repaired (had stuck pixels) the screen looks awful on Marshmallow ROMs. Hers is all bright and white and on mine all the colours are washed out and red on Marshmallow, yet Lollipop I can't notice a problem.
What android version are your two D6633 on?
And for anyone else: does anyone know what this colour difference is caused by? It bugs me so much so I can't use Marshmallow but I would really like to use the update.

Does the colour difference bother you? Is it a problem or just something you noticed?
I think screens can be slightly different from each other so it might be normal.
Which colour do you think is best? 6.0.1 or 5.1.1
For me 6.0.1 looks darker and not as nice
PS I don't know how to check the manufacturer of the screen but it likely is official, unless you had it replaced at a non-Sony centre. I just find it interesting that someone else saw this difference too

Rounded Corners : The best mod for OP5T screen

Hi,
Just installed rounded corners app from playstore..
It has completely changed the look of the device..
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thsoft.rounded.corner&hl=en
Now it looks more like S8 and Pixel 2 XL..
Please do try...U will surely love it.
Also an additional edge light feature is there where the screen edge will flash if a notification comes[Only when screen is turned on].
Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk
Isn't the 5T already equipped with rounded corners on the screen? Or are you making it even rounder?

yeah this is a great app, i used to use with my OP3/3T and u r correct, its even better with the 5T
I actually just flashed 8.0 AOSP and am liking the non-rounded corners since it's showing the entire screen. Maybe I'll go back to rounded corners eventually, but nothing more rounded than stock.
I installed rounded corners the moment I got my hands on my 5T
Makes the phone look premium like S8 and Pixel
I have been using this app since quite some time

So much people praising this but no pictures to back it up (apart from one, but still).
Why would you want to do this to your 5T anyway?

Long Exposure camera "bug"?

Has anyone experienced a "bug" that makes photos taken with long exposures appear like phone was moving while taking it?
In given example, phone was mounted on improvised stand (100% sturdy). 100 ISO 30s exposure time + 3s timer. Look at the light trails.

Initially I was worried if I've a bad device but clearing the camera data sorts the issue out (at least for couple of shots). So there must be something going on at software side. Guess we need to get in touch with bug hunters. Looking forward to next update and see if it fixes the issue.

Hiding the hole punch. Is there a way?

Is there a way to hide the hole punch to make it look like the notch on LG phones? Or, even better, make the whole top a black status bar? On my OP6T I could hide the notch and the notifications and status bar would remain on each side; on Samsung phones it pushes everything down, which is stupid design choice.

I found an app that works. It's called Nacho Notch and it's pretty neat. You can black out the hole punch and keep the status bar and notifications on each side, and it can black out the navigation bar. It also lets you customise the corners. It's a pretty awesome app which so far is bug free. Not sure if it will drain battery or not as I just started using it 15 minutes ago.

That only works on the homescreen though. This works throughout the phones UI including within apps.

If you saw my screen shot above, that's not a home screen. I just don't like any white and am using substratum too.

When you said wall I thought you meant wallpaper. I know what you mean now.
I personally do not like pitch black themes, but prefer dark themes. I use Hex installer. I haven't tried substratum in a long time. Has it improved over the past year? The last time I used it i always had issues with certain things not theming properly. Hex Installer works really good and is pretty powerful when it comes to what you can do with it.
