Using the HU to update the instrument panel clock

Hi All,
What is the best way to update the CANBUS clock on my car's instrument panel?
The clock on my instrument panel is apparently controlled by the head unit over the CANBUS. Now that I have an Xtrons PX5 MTCE GS unit head unit, the clock on the dash board just stays at 12:00pm. I drive a Ford Mondeo MK4.
My old PX3 Eonon unit could send radio station data to the instrument panel, but the new Xtrons one sends nothing.
I was thinking of a USB->CANBUS adapter on the head unit and writing an Android script to push the current time to the instrument panel, but wanted to see if anyone's got any better ideas first.
From my limited understanding, the CANBUS adapters supplied with the head units are tied to the MCU's and are solely designed to transfer steering wheel keys - the fact my previous Eonon unit did confuses me..
Many thanks for any input,
Tim

CAN adapter - Help needed (Mercedes)

Hi All,
I need to find some info for the Can adapter so i can fix my issue and help other people with similar problems too .Owner of an MTCD PX5 unit, specific for Mercedes ML (W164) that came with the Can adapter.
From day one the steer wheel buttons worked (vol up/down, phone) and reverse camera out of the box BUT i had no vehicle info at all (door opened, fuel level, temperature, parking sensors etc) as many of the users especially on VW units have. The car is a 2010 model therefore the canbus info should be plenty. Tried all the combinations of CanBus under the extra settings with no luck.
One think i noticed is that i had NO Vehicle.apk or microntek apk and MTCCanbus.apk installed on the unit. I tried to install but installation was failing for both. Even copying to system/app/** didn't worked.
Any idea ?
BTW Anyone knows what is the Knob Mode under extra settings ? Mine is set to : 2 10k/20K ADC Ports
Details:
Unit: MTCD PX5
MCU: MTCE_GS_V3.00_3
ROM: Halk9 Mod 3.1 (Android 8)
Can Adapter : GS 10280514 / HW:V2 SW:V3
Can adapter Setting: 23 Benz_B200(simple)
Hi, i have the same car the same headunit and the same problem.

Good to know that this is a generic issue and not specific to my unit and car. It seems a lot of people with Mercedes cars have similar problems. I wonder if this is related with the cheap implementation of the Chinese Can adapters or related with the car.
Will keep searching
Another thread is open with more technical details for similar issue, more HW oriented though here > https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/mtcd-discussion-questions-development
I have the same car w164 and px5 android 8
The same problem.
No I have more problems the canbas stop working no reverse camera no Wheel key vol working and no led light on unit key, I think my canbus dead ?

built-in canbus decoder

Hello, I bought car (Peugeot 307, 2005 - restyle) with already installed px5 headunit. The seller gave me a link where he bought it: https://www.erisin.com/erisin-es788...seat-peugeot-307-dab-gps-dvd-p0178-p0178.html
"(...) 7" All-in-One Design for old VW Cars with built-in CanBus Decoder..."
Car has no working steering wheel control (no external canbus decoder), but the auction on aliexpress says it has Build-in canbus decoder. I tried to activate it in Car Settings. I plug can-H and can-L wires into big black plug (numbered as 17 in the photo), taking schematic from this auction (where my friend with skoda superb bought the very same looking headunit);
https://pl.aliexpress.com/item/32809484570.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27425c0fPeznkJ
My question: is there a chance to run it without external canbus decoder? How to do so?
Is it an MTCD
it is MTCE unit

Question PX5 Android 9 replacement no sound

Hello. I fixed the damaged radio by replacing the PX5 module. The radio has started working, however the sound is only from the radio and bluetooth. No sound from USB, internet, navigation - displaying correct. I don't have an amplifier in my car. The radio comes with a CANBUS but I have a version of the car without CANBUS. Could this cause a problem with the sound? Please help.
You are in the wrong Forum. This is for FYT Head Units and you have an MTCD Head Unit. There is a forum for that where you will find the right people.
But anyway, did your unit used to have a PX5 and you replaced it by another PX5? Audio selection and processing happens a the Motherboard (the MTCD). There, the chip in charge of Sound source selection and processing selects from Bluetooth Chip, Radio Chip, and the PX5 (that generates any App-sourced sound like Navigation and MP3 playing). For some reason either the motherboard does not like your PX5 (faulty?) or there is some misconfiguration at the Android Level and PX5 is not reproducing sounds.
Have you changed anything on the Factory Settings?
But definitely your problem is not at the Canbus, but either at Android Config, PX5, or how the MTCD is communicating with the PX5
Thank you very much for the information, I'm new here so I'm still lost. I will move the topic to the appropriate forum. Thank you.

It's not an MTCD unit, search forums for CSN2
