WiFi hardware issue. - Xiaomi Mi 4C

I'll get to the point; Broke my phone. Become pieces similar to old nokia would break apart. Put back together, screen work but no touch, a mouse still work so no plob.
Phone and Moblie network work fine. But serious plob is WiFi not working. Nothing happen when I tried enable it using various method. Logcat says no wifi hardware. Remove back cover, unscrew and remove all accessible metal cover, check every connection, thrice, still the same....
Should I try anything else?

universal and wifi

hi everybody! finally i got this wonderful mobile phone! i'm just disappointed by the fact i can't connect to any wireless network... not even mine, which is proprly configured... i can obtain the list of all the networks, i see if they are free, if they are encrypted and so on, but when i try to connect to mine or the free ones appears "connecting..." and then it skips this connection and try with the following one... how comes it does so? i tried with different versions of OSs but it's always the same issue... i also disassembled it and everything is it its place... can anyone help me please? thanks
Welcome to forums
Yes, you have one of the best devices ever made!
Try a hard reset or reflash another ROM
Here instructions:

Good luck,
already tried, but nothing... i tried to use the tomal one, the italian one and the chinese one... but it's not working... do u have any idea why? in my opinion the hardware it's fine, as long as it can see the networks the wifi is working. but the software is not responsible because i tried 3 different roms and it's always the same... i really can't imagine where could be the cause...
Try to do A doc format
what do you mean?
EDIT: now i read about it, i already did it and i'm flashing right now!
EDIT 2: No, it's not working... always showing "connecting" but then just goes back to "available" status for the network, it just does not work...

OK one thing you should notice is Universal is only capable b class of wireless so.. and see what class of wifi modem you have and try to install following cab (which i got from Jonny) it should make it capable of wifi b and g and see if problem still presists try another wifi modem and still same then i suspect it might be hardware issue....
also, isn't the radio responsible for wifi connection? perhaps try a different radio?
mine is b/g both active... i'll try that rajivshahi!
@jonny: i both tried .18 and .15... should i try the previous ones?
EDIT: I tried installing that .cab, but it's not working... do i have to do something in particular after installing it? what do you mean by hardware issue? what could be wrong with it if i see the networks?

the cab just creates a some registry. so try to connect to other modem and see... if everything fail then it might be issue with uni's hardware... as if it was software issue flashing to another rom and another radio should fix it...
just a quick question.... does it connect to a open network or is it just the encrypted oneş.... i cant connect to any other than a WEP network...???
Try this (Configure Wireless Network, DON'T activate "This is a hidden network")

Maybe this will help:
In my case, after a hardreset, I cannot connect to a Wi-Fi Network until I do the following.
1.Turn on Wi-Fi--> when your network shows up, enter the Network key and hit "Connect". (Here is, where the device tries to connect, but does not! IS THIS YOUR CASE?)
2.Go to Wi-Fi-settings (through the Communications-Manager) --> push and hold your finger on your network to open the context menu --> select "edit".
3.At the "Configure Wireless Network" page make sure the check for "This is a hidden network" is NOT set! --> Hit "Next".
4.At the "Configure Network Authentication" choose for Authentication "WPA-PSK" and for Data Encryption: "TKIP". (Make sure the Network key is entered.) Hit "Next" and then "Finish."
Again your device will try connecting and (hopefully ) be successful!
Cheers,
mdajj

RAM: 64MB
Radio: 1.18
Welcome aboard
Thanks for that tip, hope can solve the issues some members reported
the point is that i can't connect to open networks... now i don't have any encrypted networks i can access... and i tried to set the networks as not hidden, bit it's not working... mdajj got exactly what happens to me "hit "Connect": here is, where the device tries to connect, but does not!" and it shows directly "unavailable status for the network, while the router is on the same desk i am sitting in front of. T_T
now i start thinking that the uni can connect only to encrypted netwoks... how could it be? i bought it because of the opposite reason...
Wifi cannot connect if signal is too low.
Unmount the device, check the wifi/antenna connection and make sure that it is not getting touched with other assembly...
i already did it, and i checked again today, the antenna is fine it does not touch anything and its shape is perfect... BUT today i noticed something missing, i have no idea why i never noticed before... the conductive tapes are missing, but even if they were in place, they'd not touch the antenna, so i guess it's not a problem... am i right?
wifi connection problems
Can I suggest a non technical approach. I also had a lot of problems with wifi a couple of years ago, it turned out to be the BATTERY I had a noname battery from Hong Kong that I think just wasn't generating enough power. The phone and everything seemed to work fine except for wifi. When I replaced the battery wifi suddenly worked perfectly. If you know anyone else with a Uni that works on wifi swap the battery and give it a try.
i also thought about that, but even when the power supply is connected to the phone wifi does not work... and then i have 2 batteries, one is not original, Yaobao brand, and the other one seems to be original, but with both does not work... [both 1620mAh]
Thinking about this, I don't know whether this is relavent, or simply an earth... but the original battery has metal case (or partially), which has a contact pressed to it when inserted in Uni. I have replacement batteries with solely plastic cases, so the contact isn't made. This doesn't affect my wifi, but it's just a thought.
yea, u r right, i did not noticed before... i have both kind of batteries, with one it makes contact, with the other it doesn't... and it's still not working! by the way thanks for the help!

Blow some hot air around the board (if you have a hot-air-station). This is the last thing you can try.

[Q] Enabling Wi-Fi Crashes HD7

My HD7 worked without issue from the beginning of the year til around a month ago.
All of a sudden, my WiFi became extremely unreliable, sometimes taking an overly long time to recognise or connect to an obvious access point, sometimes finding none at all.
After I do manage to connect wirelessly, I see no speed increase in data transfer to suggest that the phone is even using the wireless link. Web pages sometimes load slower than over 3G. I had read that HD7s have trouble using certain WiFi protocols and adjusted accordingly, but the workaround was to no avail.
Additionally, once WiFi has been selected, I cannot switch it off. I am 'locked out' of the WiFi settings page. When I tap it in the menu it responds as if I've nudged it but it cannot load. The only solution is to remove the battery. On occasion, this stuck WiFi has also caused the capacitive buttons, camera and power switch to become inactive. Curiously, touch screen function seems unaffected.
I thought maybe this issue was tied to corrupt settings with my hub, but changing SSID / WEP key etc etc on my router hasn't fixed the problem, and connection to other open WiFi signals jam the phone just as badly.
I upgraded to Mango in the hope that a fresh OS update may 'rejig' my wireless settings into working, but again, no joy.
Anyone experienced anything similar? My final options seem to be factory reset the handset to see if that solves the issue, or return the handset to O2. (Both involve losing all my data, game saves, application data AND the recently delisted SW: Battle for Hoth permanently.)
Anyone got any other thoughts?
*EDIT* After a bit more research, I found that even when the phone has connected to a WiFi source, by turning Operator Data Service off, you can see that the WiFi service is in fact not doing anything.
I braved a factory reset, managed to whack WiFi on no problem, browser ran at appropriate speed, then everything crashed as per usual, I couldn't connect to the marketplace and had to pull the battery in order to use any of the capacitive buttons. I guess it was a hardware issue individual to my phone after all.
Guess I'll give O2 a ring sometime soon to sort a replacement. Not looking forward to losing all my game progress though it has to be said.
bro i m having the same exact problem havent find any solution yet i even tried to copy and replace the wifi files from another clean htc hd7 but useless when i upgraded to 7740 the wifi worked perfectly for 1 night only then at the morning it stopped working, everything else works great. my theory says that its not a hardware problem cz i used internet sharing which uses the wifi adapter (if i m right) so its a software I GUESS

I had the same problem as well, couldn't connect, got to the point where even the power button stopped responding. Hard resets would only help for a short time and enabling WIFI would never connect right and eventually get me back to the same problem. I then got a replacement device, but it's not much better, I still can't connect to any WIFI, but at least it's not freezing up on me. My solution thus far has been just to avoid turning on WIFI if at all possible, but it's far from a perfect workaround. I'm guessing it's the HTC WIFI driver that's got issues.
i got similar problem.. send phone to service problem was "circut board"
replaced working fine...
when i was using wifi my phone was freezing some menus stop working and i have to remove battery

[Q] "not able to scan for networks" error

Hi I have htc sensation 4G (tmobile) running on 2.3.4 and I bought it privately (not from shop). From the very first day wifi doesn't work and says "unable to scan for networks). I was able to get wifi at the most for 30 seconds I think. Wifi continuosly swicthed ON/OFF.
As of now this is what tried with out much success:
====================
1) factory reset
2) rooted the device with custom ROM
3) removing the wpa_supplicant.conf file from /data/misc/wifi directory. It gets created automatically
Above didn't resolve the problem and I am not able to connect to wifi.
Any help is much appreciated. I did fair amount of googling already.
Thanks
Yes i get this problem too. and ive tried everything
I replaced the back cover with another one (from some other HTC sensation) and it works flawlessly. back cover has got antennas which might have some loose contact.
I will try this. How did u know u had a loose pin?
I was trying different things. Took radio logs from another working HTC sensation and my phone. I could see signal strength values as 25 for faulty phone and 1 for good phone. So replaced the back cover and I was able to stream youtube video for 10 mins with out any problems.
where do u find the radiologs? thanks... and this is weird when i leave my phone for a while it will connect but when i turn it off i get the 'unable to scan for network error'... hardware? im guessing its a case issue too.
Yes, I have got the same problem. are you guys sure that it's the problem with the case?

Is there a way to fix my wifi

My wifi only works one time after I take the battery out and start the phone. If I try and turn it on a 2nd time under wifi it says error.
The wifi does this on any custom rom I have tried and also on the stock att rom.
I pretty sure it is a hardware issue and I am wonder what board inside the phone contains the wifi receiver?
I have a cracked screen and I am going to replace it and I and since I am going to tear the phone down why not try and fix the wifi.
Or does anyone have any ideas on what could fix it?

Phone is out of warranty and I don't have insurance on it.
Does the wifi connect to other devices?
Have you tried resetting the router?
You can also try wifi fix - which I believe is in the market.
You can also try playing with the settings to configure the cell to the wifi - but with that I'm not sure how it works.
I'm making the assumption that there is nothing wrong with the hardware of your phone. If there is a problem, well, then just disregard what I said.
Sent from a dream.
I have tried connecting to different wifi networks other than my own and the only way it will work is if it hasn't been turned on since the last battery removal and it will only work once and give the same error if I try later to connect on my network.
I have try the apps on the the market and none have worked.
So this makes me think it is a hardware issue.
Did you try cleaning the contacts and all of that? There are a couple of threads that talk on how to clean them, and the phone, and a few other things. Try them progressively until something more drastic.
Sent from a dream.
maybe try an different battery...

Immediate "failed to conect to network" error when attempting to connect to ANY wifi network. Can't tell if hardware or software issue.

Hello all,
Here are the specs of the trouble phone:
Pixel 3a XL
Android Version 11
Kernel 4.9.232-ga8a0fbc4fb8e-ab696031
So yesterday I dropped my phone a little too hard and the screen stopped working. No damage, just would not turn on. I've replaced the screen myself quite a few times so I thought the internal connection had disconnected. I reset the connection but it didn't seem to fix it, so I took it to a phone repair shop. They did a diagnostic but told me they couldn't work on the phone because some of the graphite coating on the phone interior was scraped off (I accidently did that a preivous time when I was replacing to screen). They told me that the graphite was needed for connections and the motherboard might be broken so they wouldn't test any new screens and I should just recycle the phone?? mind you the phone was still working, vibrating and making noise so that didn't make any sense to me. I thanked them for nothing and left the store.
I tried to reset the screen connection and whatever they did to diagnose my phone actually made the screen work again. I think it was some kind of reset, I noticed all my app preferences were gone and my lock screen changed but I still had all my apps and such. Everything seemed to work except that I could not connect to my WiFi network. Upon entering the password and attempting to connect I am returned with a "failed to connect to network" pop-up immediately. It doesn't seem to be trying to connect at all, it just immediately fails. I can still see all the wifi networks around me, and I can connect to LTE. I can't figure out what is wrong, I've gotten this error with multiple different WiFi networks, cleared the wifi settings, tried it in safe mode, restarted; all have had no effect. I even tried a wifi app and it just returned "failed to connect, enable and disable wifi and try again", which does not change things either.
I noticed that my google play update still shows October 2020, and says I need to restart my phone to finish to update. Restarting has no effect though. I think the restart was pending when I dropped my phone, so the repair store's diagnostic may have messed something up with the update. Should I do a factory restart worse case? I can't figure out if this is even a hardware or software problem, the antennas should be fine if I can still detect WiFi sources but I don't know. Any ideas?
