Use Odin to install the latest firmware for you country, then use CF-Auto root, do not use SuperSU it no longer works.

You installed SuperSU at some point. Your Knox efuse is already tripped.
1. Flash your latest Oreo stock firmware and reboot. Do not touch the system anymore. If you don't want to root then you're done.
If it doesn't boot, wipe cache from stock recovery. Sometimes stock ROMs flashed from Odin don't boot until you do it.
If you see No Command, hold power and tap volume up once to bring up the menu.
2. Enable developer options, go to dev options and enable OEM unlock. Your bootloader is now unlocked.
3. Flash the latest TWRP through Odin
4. Reboot to TWRP and KEEP SYSTEM READ ONLY. Swiping to allow modifications will trip dm-verity in the stock ROM
5. (recommended but optional) Disable forced encryption. This requires wiping the internal storage. Mandatory for AOSP.
6. Wipe cache
7. Flash the latest Magisk from topjohnwu's GitHub
8. Reboot. If you don't have Magisk Manager installed already, download it from topjohnwu's GitHub.
9. Open Magisk Manager and let the initial setup complete.
10. Your device is now properly rooted with a modern, open source, systemless implementation.

Ok... i am done all of this (I install the update of Greece (COS) rom from sammobile) but the device cant found network (i cant make calls) but the IMEI shows up regularry in seetings.
With CHECK IMEI i found a code for my phone that is SM-G930FZDAOMN .
The last three digits (OMN) maybe is from vodafone in Italy because the phone came from this country.
I download the right ROM from sammobile for this, but i cannot install it via ODIN. (sboot.bin FAIL).
Any ideas ?

Perhaps you need to register your carrier manually in network settings. Try cleaning your SIM card.

What do you mean ? How i can clean my sim card ?

sboot.bin FAIL>>>> means you are trying to flash the wrong firmware.
This is the firmware for your device ....HERE.....
Greece unbranded (EUR) open to all networks.
Not registering on network with Stock Firmware, is a network provider problem, not a firmware problem.

SamFirm Tool, takes firmware direct from Samsung servers.
1. Extract from zip file
2. Run as admin, SamFirm application.exe
3. Leave everything as default
4. Model is SM-G930F (type exactly like that)
5. Region is EUR or COS (which ever firmware you want)
6. Hit check "update"
7. Hit "download"
8. Allow to download and decrypt.
9. 5 files, place in correct place in Odin, (use odin 3.13 not 3.14)
10. Only 1 CSC file needs to be used.
11. You know how to flash so can do the rest yourself?
Samfirm is attached to this post.

ok...
The EUR rom is on.
- But "NOT PHONE SERVICES ALLOWED"
- I check IMEI ... not stolen ...
- #*78# not working at all.

Ok, is the phone locked to a network?
Try manual Network selection in settings?
Try a different SIM card
This error is a problem with the SIM card or Network Provider (your mobile account).

I try ...
No solution ...

Is there a posibility to lock the device for Greece Providers ?

If the firmware is working then the problem is with the Sim card or network.
What network are you using?

Cos
(cosmote)
I alleady installed the right firmware
but still " NO PHONE SERVICES ALLOWED".

Ι try a sim card that is not registering at any network because is very old and not in use any more.
I clear cache from device app telephone and the same from card app.
Then i use my new sim from cosmote.
Well working for 2g and 3g but only for HSPA+ mode.
When i try for 4g/3g/2g and modile data lost the signal and never find it again. Only by the same way.
I put the new sim on XIAOMI MI A3 and 4g works fine.
I noticed that the device getting very warm with no reason and the battery from 14% goes down at once. This is very strange because i change the battery 6 months ago..
Do you thing is from motherboard because i am thinking to change that too ?

George, you never mentioned this in your first post!
If you have messed about changing batteries (or if a "repair" shop did it) then yes it can be all sorts of hardware problems. The phone is not designed to be opened once it leaves the factory. Many users have reported problems when people change the battery.
It would be cheaper to buy a new S7 second hand as a new mother board would cost the same and there is no guarantee the problem would be fixed.
I repair Samsung phones and they are VERY difficult to repair without the correct equipment. The phones (as with iPhone) are very sensitive to any type of tampering.
I'm sorry I can't help you any further.

Try taking your phone to a repair shop, perhaps your SIM card slot is damaged. And next time use Magisk instead of SuperSU, it's no longer reliable since 2.77

I have really made a mess trying to fix it myself.
I will write the current status and at the bottom what I've tried so you can skip
Model: sm-g920f
IMEI: 359845066450254
sn:RF8G41WR1SW
Android version:6.0.1
build #: XtreStoLite Deo Mod v.3.3 - DPDP
Baseband:G920FXXU3DPDP
Kernel version: 3.10.61-7884513 [email protected]#1
22 Apr KST 2016
now the sim card works in other phones and when I remove it the device registers it is SIM CARD REMOVED but when I put it back in nothing happpens, and mobile networks settings is gone
*I started in stock 5.1.1 (MADE NANDROID BACKUP OF EVERYTHING INCLUDING EFS) and flashed twrp via odin > (everything still working)
*flashed XtreStoLite 2.4 (5.1.1) via twrp > (everything still working)
after several months
*flashed new 6.0.1 bootloader and modem via odin and tried to flash XtreStoLite 3.0 (6.0.1) via twrp > got stuck in bootloop...
*used smart switch to go back to stock 6.0.1> Everthing was OK until about a month later the phone suddenly restarted and doesn't recognize the sim card
* I tried factory reset
* I tried samsung but they gave it back saying I've tripped my knox flag
*I flashed 6.0.1 XtreStoLite bootloader, modem and TWRP again via odin
*I flashed XteStoLite 3.3.1 (6.0.1)
*I tried restoring from the first nandroid (stock 5.1.1 from the begining) and got stuck in bootloop again.
*reflashed XtreStoLite 3.3.1 (6.0.1) and tried restoring only the efs. still doesn't work.

I saw some threads talking about octoplus box but I still have my efs Backed up my and SN and IMEI still show up.
Please help me I am here I am willing to learn and search online. I've tried everything i've found online.
Hi.
Try to use Smart Switch > Software Update and Initialization to recover your firmware, hopefully you get your network back.
Tell me what happens, gl.
Sent from my SM-G920F using XDA-Developers mobile app
almost same thing on a long thread here, no solution so far:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/g920f-network-issues-t3291903
I am seriously considering it could be sim reader issue, or some cold solder somwhere on mbo.
My IMEI was also showing in settigs, but when dialed *#0011#, in stack 1, there was "IMEI NG", after write cert operation via octoplus, it says IMEI OK now, but NO SIM, and no mobile networks menu still.
Same like you SIM is detected when inserted or removed, and phone offers restart to access mobile networks, but after restart nothing changes, KNOX tripped by previous owner, phone was in three 3rd party repair shops, where they made even bigger mess than it was, when I brought it to them.
i had the same issue when i upgraded to mm so i sent to shop they had to downgrade it to 5.1.1 and use octobox to fix it
Thanks for replying Legend.
But even though I did the software Initialization in smart switch once before it is not working for me now.
I've tried twenty time while reinstalling and restarting the pc I even tried a different pc I get the same error message every time. "failed to run firmware upgrade unknown error occurred".
any other thing to try?
you could try to restore that backup you have, from when everything worked and then flash 5.1.1. bootloader and modem for that csc via odin before rebooting
According to Smart Switch with your sn it is ILO so you need 5.1.1 bootloader and modem from ILO 4 file fw package.
*I just managed to flash stock 6.0.1 via odin (even though It failed at hidden.img... it boots normally) still no sim card tough.
*I realized that maybe all of this happened because when I flashed stock via smart switch for the first time I didn't have my original s/n so I put one from the internet and it wasn't my region.
meaning I flashed stock of UK and it still worked for a month or so, so that's weird...
*Thank you brenner that is a good idea and I will try now
question how do I extract the bootloader and modem out of the fw? I just open the tar archive and take the boot.img and modem.bin files and flash them as is?
nvm found a guide

There are .tar-s which are single file, and 4 files, the ones with 4 files has separate bl/modem
btw, isnt sn written on back of the phone, along with IMEI?
OK, I've flashed the nandroid stock 5.1.1 (LMY47X.G920FXXU3COJ1) and its bootloader and modem from sammobile.. still doesn't work!!
How can this be? everthing is EXACTLY the way it was when it was working!
and no, my model at least doesn't have the S/N and IMEI written at the back, and I didn't keep the box
any other suggestion anyone?
*also there are so many post in subject if I ever find a solution I will make a guide.
-bump-
still no solution..
I've flashed back to current stock ILO...
Meanwhile looking for a lab with octoplus box, still would love solving this at home
At home or not, I would like to solve it too
Bought a second hand S6 the other day and was working perfectly fine until I carried out the update. Now on 6.0.1 and am getting the exact same problem, my SIM works in every other phone. Has anyone found a solution for this?
Not that I know of, except hw replacement, which cost as a used phone with 1+ years of warranty (6 months warranty on motherboard after replacement, on motherboard only)
But I am willing to donate to whoever finds a solution for it.
No i think your problem is a S/W problem, i have 2 G920F with this problem, one of them is 3 binary and another is 4 binary FW, now i work on it if i can solve this problem i told you here.

S6 not recognizing SIM card (No Service)

After installing a custom ROM on my galaxy s6 it would no longer recognize my SIM card. I did wipe every option in TWRP recovery before flashing the ROM which might have something to do with the issue. The phone states "No SIM Card - No Service" in the top left of the lock screen, it also wont let me call any numbers to edit things in the phone. I have done some research and it sounds like I have wiped the sim and lost the IMEI/EFS data and therefore no longer have access to my sim. I was wondering if there was any possible fix or should I just send it off to Samsung to get repaired?
Did you back up the EFS partition, and put it somewhere safe? If not, you have a paperweight.
Repair won't be covered under warranty.
Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Unfortunately I didn't back up the EFS partition. Situation is looking bad. :l
Try dialnig *#06# and see does it shows IMEI and sn, alo try *#0011# select stack 1 and check whether IMEI is OK, or NG.
Also what does it say in phone settings under baseband? Do you have mobile networks menu in settings?
You can try Smart Switch emergency initialization with sn of the phone if IMEI is ok (it will install latest stock fw for your phone) and see if that helps.
When I typed in "*#06#" The SN number was shown however the IMEI number was not. When I typed in "*#0011#" There was nothing but blank spaces separated by grey lines, I tried selecting row 1 however nothing happened. My base band version is "Unknown" listed under settings. I do however have the network settings listed in settings. In Smart Switch when I try to run the device initialization it states that my s6 "doesn't support initialising". I have flashed three different downloads of the stock rom to my phone using ODIN and have had no luck with any of them.
well Smart Switch always says that S6 is not supported, but initialization can be done anyway, just dont connect the phone until it asks you to do so, instructions below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/how-to-smart-switch-emergency-t3383448
What is your model anyway, do you know which region fw was originaly on the phone, and which sv rev is shown in the download mode?
does in recovery mode says anything about DRK?
Unfortunately Smart Switch says that "'SM-G920F' does not support initialing. Please contact out service center." Even when I have entered the correct S/N and device model, as well as not plugging in the phone. My device model is the SM-G920F. I don't know the original region FW that was originally on the phone, however it was purchased in the UK and that is where I am have been ever since I bought the phone. The SWREV is: "B:3 K:2 S:2" in download mode. I currently have TWRP recovery installed so is there a place for me to search for the DRK in TWRP? Or should I re-flash the stock recovery using Odin?
that is weird, I reinitialized my g920f many times without any issue. DRK error is usually shown in stock recovery. does the phone boots up with stock fw, and are you using any custom kernel?
i got the same problem when I flashed xtrolite and alexis custom ROM on my S6, both ROM after flashing I got no service.
But I did a full stock backup in TWRP.
baseband unknown means that there is a problem with modem part of fw. and I dont know what fw you flashed. you said that you tried to flash stock, but it doesn`t work, but a little more details would maybe make a difference, like which fw, and what exactly is happening, what does about the phone menu says.
So far, since baseband is unknown I would try to flash modem fw with odin (for exact fw that is in the phone). before that usb settings should be set to CP, by dialing *#0808#
or if you decide tu run custom fw, you can always try asking in that rom thread, maybe someone already had issues like that with that rom and fixed them, or the developer of that rom can help fix it.
Boot your s6 to download and flash stock rom via odin from samsung it maybe work

[HOW TO] VoLTE on Jio India - USA Snapdragon S7 S7edge

New instructions dated Sept 15th 2018
No root needed.
Should work on all Snapdragon USA/Canada etc models (ATT , verizon, sprint, tmobile tc) S7 or S7edge (though the file is from S7edge India model). Leave a message in this thread if you encounter any issues.
Am not responsible for any damage you might do to your device.. am just trying to help.
Keep your Jio SIM in the phone all along.
1. Back up your data using Samsung smart switch or any other means (save whatsapp chats to google in settings)
2. Flash stock firmware (On unzipping stock FW, you'll get AP, CP,BL and CSC files. Use Odin to flash them) (Don't flash User data file if it's there in extracted files) - Download from Updato site for faster downloads
Use recommended patched Odin is located here
3. Download the Indian CSC file G935F_INSCSC
4. Ignore this step if you have adb working on your PC already.
Install "minimal ADB fastboot" program on PC, Copy the G935F_INSCSC.zip to your minimal ADB folder on computer (under program files on C drive).
Double click cmd-here.exe in that folder.
5. Boot the phone to recovery mode and choose Apply update via ADB sideload
6. Connect your phone to your computer with your USB cable.
7. On ADB window on PC type "adb devices" without quotes. Next line should show a device attached
If seen, type "adb sideload G935F_INSCSC.zip" without qoutes. It'll start transferring the file.. check mobile screen it'll install itself. (you might see some errors)
8. Reboot file and check, you should have Volte.
Possible errors:
1. Phone app/Msg app force closing
Try SMS app from google
Reflash AP BL CP only excluding CSC
Install CSC zip via adb again
2. Sprint OMADM app needs to be removed to avoid annoying notification or change notifications to low priority
To remove via ADB, turn on usb debugging
type in adb shell
you should see a dollar sign.
next type in pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sec.omadmspr
it should say success.
ADB sideloading is explained in this video in the last https://youtu.be/giD7nP4Oue4
Old instructions have been deleted....
Thank you Proper vlog on youtube for testing my method and reporting.

I've only tested till login. Tried to add card after reading your comment. I too had connection error. I've only changed CSC in that file. US guys didn't have any issues it seems.
I can't open some pages on spay too.. not sure if it's related to Samsung servers or our device. I'll check later.
If it were related to knox issue, it won't even let you login. (Like on a rooted device).
VoLTE is related to CSC and device model. So it should work with airtel too. Lets see.

I will also try with a clean install of the system without removing any bloats and check.
You also try and keep posted. If you want me to try something on this , let me know.
BTW , do you have the latest csc files for india thats ODIN flash-able ?
Also will it be an issue because of the samsung pay framework. I hrd that it need Indian framework and India spay app for successful adding of our cards.
Do you have any idea as how to bring spay India framework to this rom ?
Thank you for the input man.
I just wonder if the CSC is CPU dependent? Since I want to modify it with a CSC for HongKong, I am not sure if it matters for Exynos / Snapdragon rom.
Or would you mind help me to modify the file with Hong Kong CSC for me? thank you very much!

CSC is not dependent on processor as long as it's flashed via twrp/flashfire as a zip. But odin flashing is different.
So, which is your device? if it's SM-G935F/FD/K/L/S/W8 then use https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/utility-flashable-csc-selection-30-t3392957 TGY is in that zip.

Hi, I just did as what was instructed.
After I have gone throught the Auroma screen, having checked No Wiping and Keep SU, ticked what to debloat,
it says finished and restarted.
1. When it was rebooting, it keep popping up com.sec.epdg has stopped, IMS Service stopped.
Is that normal or what else should I do?
2. I also noticed the modified file for India is over 500mbs, but the TGY file for Hong Kong is just 153mb.
Is everything alright about that?
3. When I try to Odin a stock G935U firmware wiping everything, it turns into Olympic Edition Theme, and I lost my IMEI , cannot detect a Sim. There is no way for me to get it working again
thank you again.

I also even tried the INDIA CSC file on the OP and the original NoNaMe Mod file.
Still, it says SIM Card Not Available, IMEI Unknown, Baseband Unknown, No Network. It used to work fine before trying the TGY CSC.

Smartswitch detected my phone but says G935A is not supported.
Finally, I approached a phonedealer in China online.
He fixed my phone remotely via Teamviewer, and he said the Certificate of Modem/Baseband was corrupted. Since the Baseband gone missing which cannot be fixed by ordinary Odin of Firmware.
I saw him used some kind of unofficial software (characters illegible to me) and got it fixed in 2 minutes, and was luckily costed me only 220RMB (around 30USD)
Well, a good lesson to learn from. There are really something not fixable by Odin and we could Eff our phone up even with the bootloader locked.
Again, it was just me requesting the OP to modify the file for me to satisfy my curiousity who happily did me a favour, there is nothing to blame with and I thank you again for all the help!
Cheers!

Sorry about that but the file will touch only CSC part. not basebands/modem. I've re-checked the zip too.
Not sure what happened.. I could even flash Exynos CSC file via flashfire on Snapdragon. No damage at all.
May be am just lucky.

Galaxy J7 2015 wipe system using ODIN ?

good evening all,
yesterday i've installed a custom ROM over a custom ROM which was installed previously on my J7 2015 phone and now my phone can' boot up, i can't see the bootlogo and can't access to the recovery mode i can only reach the download mode, i've tried to boot it in safe mode but unfortoneitly didn't work.
i am asking if there is anyway to wipe the phone system using PC (odin or something) in order to fix the system crash that caused my problem and install a stock rom properly.
thanks.

Whatever you do, DO NOT USE THE "NAND ERASE ALL" OPTION IN ODIN.
It will only damage your device. I don't even know why that option is there, I have never seen a scenario where that option has ever helped anyone. Everyone that has ever used it only ended up with a non-repairable device.
Yes, you can try finding the firmware for your specific model number of J7 then flash it using Odin.
If your device is an international(non-carrier branded) device, there will be a list of available firmware for your model number, each firmware on the list is for different regions/countries/carriers, you will need to find the correct firmware for your region/country that has the correct three letter region/carrier code for your carrier in your country.
If you don't know your three letter region/country/carrier code, do a Google search for:
"Region code for (your country) (your carrier)"
For example, for my device, I would search for:
"Region code for USA(my country) StraightTalk(my carrier)"
Once you find the list of available firmware for your device, find the most up to date firmware that has the same three letter region/country/carrier code that you need.
Then flash the firmware via Odin.
Or, you can even try using Samsung SmartSwitch on PC, it has a couple of "somewhat" automated troubleshooting/recovery processes that might repair your device depending on what got corrupted.

[GUIDE][SAMSUNG] Enable Built-In Call Recording in any country [No ROOT][No Bootloader Unlock]

Let's Get Started by saying: I'm not resoponsible for brick, loss or any damage to your phone. So backup!
Pre Requirements:
a. A Windows PC with internet connection.
b. Odin Patched Here
c. HOME CSC file of Indian / Thailand / Vietnam Region. You can get firmware of your phone from samfw.com or any other website.
Make sure that the bootloader version on your phone and the one you download are same. For example, A515FXXU4CTJ1 has bootloader version 4 (that's fifth digit from the right). So you have to download a firmware which has same bootloader version.
P.S. We don't need full firmware, Only the file name beginning by "HOME_CSC" is needed.
Working:
1. Eject the SIM Card(s)
2. Go to Settings -> Apps -> Calendar -> Storage -> Clear Data.
3. Put your phone into download mode.
4. Run the Odin....exe (downloaded in step b) as administrator
5. Click CSC and select the HOME_CSC file obtained from step c in Pre-Req.
6. Click "Start".
7. When phone reboots, Repeat step 2.
All done. You can insert SIM Card(s) and use Call Recording.
Notes:
You'll be ondifferent region's CSC after this.
Phone will not factory reset and you won't lose any data after this.
You might not be able to get system updates after this. In order to get them you'd have to flash your region's CSC, then update, then flash custom CSC again.
Tested working on:
Samsung A51 (Android 10)
Samsung A50 (Android 10)
Samsung M21 (Android 11)
You tell

Hi I tried your message but I got an error on my phone along the lines of : secure check fail cache (1). I tried with the odin version you linked and I was thinking about trying a version v3.14 patched that I found here on XDA. Any ideas?
My phone is fine it does seem to restart to a thing with the cyan download background saying "An error has occured..." but I can restart and then hit volume key saying 'reset phone' which just boots the phone normally.

This happens when you use a non Patched odin. Make sure you're using the one from link in OP. BTW, which phone is it?

It's G991U1, with 1ATLI so I downloaded 1AUB8 (THL) to try to flash the HOME_CSC, I'm 100% sure I tried with the odin you linked (also your one has same CRC SHA-1 as the the one linked in the XDA thread). Maybe I need to try with the updated patcheD odin (v3.14.1_3B) I didn't do that yet.

I believe everything's right then. Can't identify the issue though.
I guess, trying updated version might help.
Good luck!
If problem persists after trying updated version. Please share screen when phone is in download mode.
I had kept this thread in my bookmarks since I was buying the A52 4G on Amazon.ca and absolutely wanted Call Recordings (officially we shouldn't be able to get the A52 4G in Canada, only the 5G version is officially here, so it's an import).
But as luck would have it, it's the SM-A525M and already has Call Recording enabled in it. So that saves me some trouble. But thanks for this guide! I may not have needed it in the end, but would've totally relied on it otherwise.
If I'm understanding this right, my firmware is A525MUBS1AUD1. Brazil's ? It's Android so it has every languages built-in regardless and there's no carrier specific apps in it either, so that's great.
tried on A52 4G all flashed fine
but the csc did not changed and no call recorder

Well, That's unlucky then; it's unavailable on certain devices.
