Has anyone figured out how to bypass the tethering restrictions on t-mobile using a non rooted Unlocked Note 20 Ultra?
Before I used to use adb commands but now my tether usage is being detected.

After it became apparent that even pdanet with "hide tether usage" enabled was being detected, I started using Every Proxy in conjunction with pdanet and that seems to hide it. I haven't tested it with the standard hotspot. Alternatively, NetShare hotspot has the proxy built right in so you don't have to run 2 separate apps, but it's $8.99 for the full version.

Thank you for that heads up. Netshare worked like a charm. No way am I paying these carriers another dollar for service I should be able to use as I see fit.

What about foxfi? That doesn't work? If I buy the note 20 ultra I want to be able to tether un rooter no problem with Verizon as well.
i had lost cable/net for about week because of a storm about a week or 2 ago, had to use PDA net plus on my note 8 (no root and latest OFW) to get my desktop back online for a week. Using usb tether in the app, my tethering usage was detected as if i was normally tethering and i hit my cap. Then i tried wifi direct hotspot in the app and that worked, however i started getting notifications that i had surpassed my allowed data for the month for the phone itself and i could be throttled, interesting considering im on a true unlimited plan from 10 years ago before they thought up this crap and i used to run 1 to 2 TB of data usage a month to avoid comcast/time warner.
Anyways, i havnt tried this out on my Note20 yet, but thats what got me back in the "unlimited" zone on my note 8. i dont know if something has changed with OS build/new hardware. hope it works out for you who need it.
Note 20 Ultra: SM-N968U1 vs SM-N968U - Hotspot/Tethering U.S. Carrier Detection
(1) Have Samsung S7Edge SM-G935F (International Version) with AT&T Unlimited Plan. NO AT&T software is on the phone. As such, tethering and hotspoting are NOT detected. I assume the key was an absence of AT&T "local" software on the phone. I read via XDA "S20 Ultra Plus" Forum that the "U1" version of the phone has NO U.S. carrier software on the phone, where the "U" version is 'multiple carrier loaded'. I assume the same applies to the Note 20 Ultra SM-N968U1 that this version has NO carrier bloatware/apps (vs. the ostensible "carrier loaded" version SM-N968U). (Note: AT&T beginning Feb/2022 will only allow only the U1/U models on their network.) I am "hoping" when I buy the Note 20 Ultra "U1" (SM-N968U1) that (a) there will be no carrier software on the phone and (b) when I use it as I use the S7Edge, the tethering/hotspot usage also will not be tracked. If anyone can provide thoughts on this +/-, I'd appreciate it.
(2) If the Note 20 Ultra SM-N968U1 "tethering/hotspot" usage is tracked, then what apps should I have/pay for and in what order? It appears per the above posts that PDANet/Plus is one required, and in addition so is Every Proxy; another is just Netshare hotspot. If anyone can suggest a "planned" app combo w/settings that works to avoid carrier tethering/hotspot detection, I'd appreciate that heads-up. Will of course post my experience here once I get the phone and get into a plan-month. TIA for your help. It's appreciated.
I'm bummed because I bought SM-U68U1 that has no carrier bloatware/apps with AT&T Unlimited Elite and they are detecting my hotspot usage.

Thank you mbmike29. That's just as I figured. Looks like one of those "spoof apps" will have to be used. Or possibly flash a Hong Kong image or other International version image - I don't think it would change the IMEI number, although with the "Elite" package they might be measuring tethering/hotspot on their server end (like VZN does), thus the app-spoof proxy solutions. Flashing Hong Kong or other firmware "might" affect the "bands" the phone is able to receive, though band reception might be at the phone/hardware level, unless the region-specific O/S affects that. I know there's original U1 Samsung firmware to revert the phone back to stock if need be. I would not do a firmware flash without exhausting all other options first.
What a ridiculous situation in 2020, not getting what we are paying for. We are so backwards in this country, technologically speaking, and in so many other ways comparatively.

Something definitely changed because on my note9 I never had issues with hotspot
I was able to get mine working on my unlocked variant on the sprint network.
I did the same for a family member on Sprint, works great for them. Just wish there was an way to do it for T-Mobile without root. Wondering what additional checks were added?

It seems to only crash during 5G. If I switch to 4G LTE / CDMA only mode, it doesn't crash.

Seems to be working fine. Which carrier are you using?
So, PDAnet (with the foxfi key) DOES work, bypassing the hotspot. I just checked my VZ account, and the phone itself. VZ has no hotspot usage listed for this month, and all my hotspot settings are (and always have been) currently off. I've burned through 196G of data so far, with nothing from VZ yet. I do have the hotspot feature on my account, but with my data usage and their 'cap' of 15G, it's simply not practical. Been using PDA since 2014 back when I had straight talk, and they HATE hotspots...
In any event, VZ DOES have PDAnet listed on the account page that breaks down the apps using data. All they'd need to do is take a peek...

Thank you Admiral_Piett. 'Appreciate your info. Question: what is the "foxfi key" you mentioned? Does that come with PDANet, is it a "setting", or is it another apps that works in conjunction with PDANet? Also is PDANet = PDANet "Plus"? Separately, if you use a VPN on your phone, I believe the apps/app usage is not published out of the VPN. That also makes me think that a VPN obviates the need for PDANet, but I'm not certain of that. I'd have to do additional research to answer this question (unless a viewer of this thread knows and weighs-in. Stay tuned on that one. Thank you again Admiral.

PDAnet. Foxfi is for older legacy models. However, my foxfi key registers on pda... Maybe foxfi was bought? But yes, you are correct. PDAnet still needs to be on both items for it to function.

Foxfi was an older tunneling app that would bypass Hotspot restrictions (what pdanet does today). Not really sure what PDAnet plus is, will look that up after this post. And no, I don't currently use a VPN in conjunction with pda. It's sufficiently kept me hidden as far as downloading with no Hotspot, and I don't roam the 'net too much to worry about needing a VPN. A VPN would further increase concealment as far as downloading large files, since it'd point to a random server, not a specific source, if you will.
I have Sprint as well as PDA.net. It works wonderful for tethering directly via USB but for hotspot it still shows usage on my account page. I have a special $30 plan with unlimited data and all and 50GB hot spot. Is there any way to by pass that restriction on PDANET or setting? Also, I heart about the Netshare but when I search Google play, it has two different versions with two different full version pricing so I am not sure which to use if those help. Any advice would be greately appreciated.

The only version of wifi/wireless tether for root users that works is the most recent experimental build:
http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list
wifi_tether_v3_0-pre14.apk
From the options menu, you will need to change the device from auto to Samsung Facinate.
This is the only configuration that worked for me. The stability is questionable. I did have to reboot a few times to get wifi working AFTER I turned off wifi-tether.
It did seem to help that I kept wifi on before I started wifi-tether. I don't suggest turning off wifi, then running wifi-tether. Under this scenario, I could not get wifi-tether to work.
YES, I understand I can use the free official version that's built into the phone, BUT I have no intention of seeing a line item of $20 on my wireless bill AFTER the promotion ends next month. VZW might/will just assume you used it once and you got the service until you call to cancel. No thanks with that situation. Going to avoid that like the plague. I would not put it past VZW [insert any phone/cable/cell company] from this dirty little trick.
I have even considered calling VZW to have the promo code taken OFF my account. I just don't trust these companies.
On a side not, I am running ED2 with the voodoov4 kernel.
This method can use the 4G LTE connection for the tethering, right?
I did not do a speed test on the other device, but I am pretty certain it said 4G. I actually would have noticed if it was 3G or 1X because it would have stuck out as my house is covered in 4G love

I'm having a hard time getting this to work with altered beast. Has anyone else found a solution for altered beast wireless tether?
I have this app from my Fascinate and I'm posting this right now on my laptop that is being tethered from 4G from this app. That should clear things up.
I got it working. As a matter of fact, I am tethering at about twice as fast as my previous phone.
I live on a farm where our 3G is spotty, and I'm getting 1.5 Mbps as opposed to 0.6 Mbps previously. I can actually stream stuff now! Very happy.
Try Wired Tethering instead
I can't say much about Wireless Tethering, 'cause I'm really not that interested in it: The battery on the Charge gets drained so fast when downloading 4G data without the WiFi stuff, why add an additional drain?
My philosophy on this is that you're probably going to want to plug your Sammy into something to charge the battery while surfing, so why not plug it into your laptop and go with a Wired Tether instead? It probably will get you faster speeds, to boot.
If you want to try it, I recommend "Easy Tether". (The free Google Code root user "Wired Tether" isn't working right now).
E.T. is a lot cheaper than PDAnet, and personally I think it has a simpler user interface. It doesn't require root access, either. The free version gets you unlimited access to http: sites, but restricts https: sites.
Food for thought.
I use Wireless Tethering 2.0.8, not 3.0.
Been using it since I picked up the phone and rooted it. 2.0.8 works perfectly for me. Ad-hoc not Wireless signal, but still works!
I download a 3gb HD movie in about 15-30 minutes, depending on the speed. That's gotta be LTE 4G speed. I'm pretty sure 1.5mbps cannot download 3gb in that time.
i ran wireless_tether_2_0_5-pre9 on my alteredbeast last night and it worked fine for me. not in a 4g area.
The wireless tether option is the only reason to root in my opinion. Plus its free! When I work overtime details where I just have to sit in the cruiser, wireless tether is the best cause I can watch movies and surf any sites without the city's server blocking me.
I've got a couple rooted Charges..anyone know what wireless tether is the BEST? I know of Barnacle and Wireless Tether...and have used both, neither stands out above or any different really than the other.
I am using barnacle and it is working very well no FCs or issues so far.. just stated a few days ago but i am getting full speed.
my guess is that at some point they will be charging by the usage to stop this practice.. but until then this works great.

Isnt verizon plan on suspending accounts that use 3rd party apps to enable tethiering?
I used to use 46GB of data a month with my imagio and nobody ever said a word, and im already up to 16 with the charge (unfortunately still on 3G). If they are supposedely suspending accounts they would have tore me apart by now. I think once 4G gets established nationwide the carriers are probably gonna change there rates on data, but until then im going to keep paying my 30 a month for UNLIMITED data and use as much as i want

I can't even get tethering to work on my laptop (let alone Galaxy Tab 10.1) through the Droid Charge, with either Barnacle nor Wireless Tether. Did you have any luck?
Can anyone report if this is working in infrastructure mode, or is it just ad-hoc?
I'm on T-Mobile US and tethering have been working fine for me without paying for the extra tethering fee on my Nexus 4. I can do wifi and bluetooth tether to ipad, nexus 7, and a laptop with user agent switching. Got my Nexus 5 today and nothing works, I keep on getting the upsell page even after playing around with different APN settings. Put my sim back in my N4 everything works. Anyone experiencing the same issue? Maybe Google changed something in KitKat.

What T-Mobile plan do you have?
Supposedly they are giving free wifi hotspot access with nearly all of their plans now, even prepaid.
Perhaps you need to check your APN or register the imei # somehow with T-Mobile.
I had to upgrade/downgrade myself today cause I was using a $10 unlimited web plan with my galaxy nexus, but when I tried to use the fast.-t-mobile.com APN (for LTE access) I got the upsell page as well, no data at all.
What I went ahead and did was sign up for the $30 prepaid plan (100 mins 5gb data) and transferred my number over etc, worked great. I had a micro sim activation kit though, which asked for IMEI number etc. Supposedly I will have wifi hotspot access @ 100mb/month but I haven't tested it yet.

Blocked for me as well. I'm on a post-paid plan. 1000 minutes and unlimited data. I mainly use the tethering with my iPad. Works with Nexus 4, but not with the Nexus 5.

Maybe, but I don't think you will get LTE with that plan, T-mobile seems to be blocking it with the fast.t-mobile.com APN.

Not exactly sure which plan you have but I'm pretty sure T-Mobile is now including free wifi hotspot/tethering for free now. How much monthly data allowed depends on your plan.
If they are giving it to prepaid folks there is no reason why you shouldn't be getting it.
If you install the T-Mobile My account app from the play store see if it shows "mobile hotspot balance". If not I would call them as inquire about it. Don't return it too quickly...

Ok I remember reading you need to have one of their "Simple Choice" plans to get the free mobile hotspot. You might have to change your plan, not sure if it will cost you more to do so though...
I'm assuming the plan you have now is unlimited, and you don't want to switch to the 2.5gb plan, and if you go up to unlimited its probably going to cost you more than you are paying now...

I've used tethering with my Value Plan (1000min/unlimited data) for over a year now. It just doesn't work with the Nexus 5, put the sim back in my Nexus 4 and it works fine. My plan didn't officially come with tethering. It worked fine with my iPad and android tablets. It would present the blocked message on my laptop. I was okay with that, since I didn't subscribe to an "official" tethering plan.
I don't know if this will be fixed with a custom rom, becuase it seems like it is at the core of KitKat. I also tried flashing the bare AOSP ROM, and tethering was blocked with that as well.
Also seeing the blocked tethering over here. On the $30 Tmobile plan and the Nexus 4 works perfectly tethering. Put the same sim into the Nexus 5 and it just redirects me to the sign in page for Tmobile. Hope this is fixed or this will be a massive negative towards this phone, probably even a deal breaker.

My plan didn't officially come with tethering. It worked fine with my iPad and android tablets. It would present the blocked message on my laptop. My doesn't officially comes with tethering either, but it always worked for tablets. On laptop I just change the user agent and it works fine. Have you look into any of the tethering apps? I have no idea if they're any better than the built in one.

You are seeing the redirect on your PC? In the past I noticed I had to change the user-agent on my PC's web browser to Mobile for it to let me past T-mobile's blocking.
Are you trying through a PC? Try tethering another mobile device like a tablet or phone and see if it works...

I'll try that in a minute. Either way, the chromebook was able to tether with the nexus 4 without problems every time.

I think it is a T-Mobile thing, as I see other people talking about successfully tethering their nexus 5 all over the place. Might just be a small subset of T-Mobile users. Either way its very annoying. Wouldn't be the end of the world if I had to use a different app to tether, but I don't even know if that would or could work.

You have to figure only a small subset of users have received theirs yet, and an even tinier subset of them even care about tethering, and even a smaller subset of then have even tried it yet. Every Nexus device is a disaster until you let it settle in for a week or two and let the wrinkles settle out.
Change 4g data plan
There's a new 4g data plan which includes 2.5GB hotspot data. You still get unlimited phone data for the same price as before. $20/mo.
I've been searching for days and can't find an answer to my questions so I'll just ask.
I currently have an S4 with tmobile. It's stock rooted with Fenny's rom and Unlimited Tether Mod. The phone is realiable but i'd like to upgrade.
Since the Note7 has gone up in flames, I've been looking at the only 3 [seemingly] viable options which are the Galaxy S7 [not the edge], HTC M10, and mayve LG v20.
I've been a Samsung customer for years, so I guess I'd lean toward GS7. The only thing that keeps me from pulling the trigger on ANY new phone is whether or not I'll be able to root it and have an UNLIMITED HotSpot Mod. I can't seem to find a definitive answer as to whether thats a possibility for the GS7... is it able to be done? And for that matter, can it be done on the HTC M10 or LG v20... or any other great quality phone available right now [it seems the pickings are slim].
If I can't find a new phone that can do this, I guess I'll be sticking with my S4.
I'm still searching but can't find the answers I need. Nobody has any input?
I asked the same question yesterday, and not even one response....
I understand WifI Router (Root) by fabio works, bought it, and it didnt work for me. I emailed him, and he emailed me back promptly with support, asking me for my ABN settings, so I''m sure it works.
Unfortunately, I unrooted before getting support on my settings, so im waiting here to find out if anybody has rooted a stable PK1 ??? In my case it was not stable, overheated, lagged and eventually after 6 days boot-lopped. (confirmed governor's set to interactive) , and flashed the v15 fixes. I know it can be rooted, but seems less stable - and no clear answers here in our tmobile xda s7 little community.
While waiting for confirmation on stable PK1 root, (and I'm done experimenting), I do get full speed USB tethering in FoxFi. So this is a temporary solution until I see more answers on a stable root.
Can somebody with real success, please help ! thanks in advance !!
I use PDANet+ and works like a charm even on wifi
I forgot to mention my Pda.net (foxfi) was working like a charm too w/o root as well.
However , my foxfi is now handicapped thanks to Tmobile's latest policy changes.
I signed up for unlimited data (which had fine print stating 15 gigs hotspot high speed at lower priority).
First I was sand-bagged the $26 extra for unlimited hotspot on my unlimited account. Since i didnt know this was added without my approval - I removed it.
Then I noticed the new policies and the hotspot throttling.. Other users are reporting the same.
Now my foxfi is shut down to .5kbs - same as the native hotspot app. I have tried other apps with no luck with and without VPN (PIA). Foxfi works unrestricted via USB tether, and that is my current temp solution, until someone here actually verifies a stable PK1 root.
Once i know this can be achieved, I bought WiFi Router (root) and anticipate this will work, and or xtether for an unrestricted Hotspot activation around Tmobiles latest low blow.
We got the S7 and I regret everything about it. I had 2 Note 4's in the house running CM 12.1, tethering 600 gigs per month from Tmobile with 40-75megs down like it was nothing. I want to dump these and get a OnePlus or go back to a Note 4. Just something without a BL lock, pretty much have to go international or something like OnePlus.

pdanet is not the prog that provisions hotspot. If you install PDAnet+ like you state, then you know it installs another prog called FoxFi.
This has hotspot. Tmobile has done something new on their end in the last 2 weeks to throttle this to .5kbps, unless you pay $26 extra for unlimited hotspot.
This program previously worked great and doesnt require root. I could get unlimited Hotspot, and highspeed. Now, they &*@k#D us.
Are you claiming to not pay the additional $26, and still get unthrottled speeds (15-50 mbs)?
Im sorry for asking you again, since my post is looking for a workaround, not what doesn't work any longer. I can see many others with the same observations re foxfi (pdna.net), hence - never even mentioning this. Sorry for my tone, as I hope to improve my situation, and want others too as well, and do not want others to try methods known not to currently work, until and if, Foxfi updates...

To your situation I live in Puerto Rico and have T-Mobile here.
I have only 5GB of Mobile hotspot and has not consumed it yet.
I know what Foxfi is but if you know that if you install PDANet+ if you want full version you need to buy the FoxFi key that works for FoxFi and PDANet.
Here's what I have cosumed with FoxFi and before I buyed the Key I was using my regular hotspot which consumed almost 2GB of my plan.
I dont use usbtethering and only need PDANet for my PS4.
Plus I have legally buyed the FoxFi key, I'm not using any cracked software. Sorry but if for you doesnt work then is your country thats blocking the tethering there.
thanks for your response.
I guess i should have been clear - it is for US domestic T-mobile and Unlimited One plans. You are using a 5gig plan, your situation doesnt apply - it works. Same as the pay as you go plans in continental US.
The issue is for those of us on the UNLIMITED ONE plan that are now being throttled (90+ percent of us) Foxfi has been crippled and works no different than native hotspot.
Root will solve this, but I'm not confident in the root stability with what I have already experienced and further experimentation is a waste of my time. I hope experts in our community have got solutions that actually work....????
thanks for anyone's help in advance...
I wanted to report that I went back to PIA firmware, rooted and using WIfi Tether Router by Fabio (root) ($2.80) for my hotspot to get around the Tmobile throttling.
I'm using PIA VPN connected on the phone.
**In order to get VPN and WiFi tether router to work
using Wifi Tether router, you must create a new access point name, copying the tmobile settings in place, and changing the APN protocol to from IPv6 to IPv4
then save and select this new APN name as default in your phones mobile network settings.
Reboot the phone. I went from .5kbs ---> 20-50mbs.
Wifi Tether router runs slow, and hot - so this isn't as easy as using PDA.net (FoxFi) without root like before - but seems to work fine. Now, you must root to get the unlimited wifi hotspot. (For Tmobile Unlimited One accounts).
In beginning it didn't work until i made the above changes, and followed the configuration page:
for GS5/6 , but not sure this made any difference, so recommend not making any changes, until doing above.
I'm still testing the stability of root, in general, for the S7. Since my PK1 upgrade experience bad, I will stick with PIA until someone posts results with experience.
Thanks to some advice I used v15 fixes after root, and NOT the bloatware removal which might have been the culprit all along.
So are there any other new phones from t mobile that currently have successful workarounds for this?
I have the T-Mobile one plan and everything is unlimited.
re: the One plan "unlimited" is a marketing ploy. The previous marketing game is called Binge. Again market to the user they are getting more, when in fact they are getting far less.
if you read the fine print you will see that unlimited = not unlimited.
plus you cannot wifi tether anymore, since they added the $26/mo premium hotspot feature. Then your unlimited to 28gigs or whatever they specify has their unlimited limit which keeps changing - also in the fine print until they start to throttle you down, as the network priority demands (ie you become lower priority if connected to a busy tower).
The OP explains how to circumvent the hotspot restrictions. T-mobile's one plan (circa Sept 1 2016), has already been changed 3 times in 3 months. Not sure how you keep customers like this.
First we had UNLIMITED. Then it was clarified to unlimited upto 28 or so gigs or whatever the top 2% of their users use. The hotspot was restricted to 15 gigs per month, and specified to be a lower network priority. In my case the hotspot was full speed. Then, they changed the policy again. No hotspot. it works throttled to .5kbs.
The brilliance in the tmobile marketing is to advertise that they are giving more, when in fact they are giving less. Amazing that users think they have unlimited data, when they dont, and obviously are not hitting the upper limits to find out. Yes, you have unlimited .5kbs when you hit the limits, and in this sense, you are unlimited which is not so bad in itself, but good luck with HD videos on your 72" 5000k display
I do want to point out that when I went over the limit my speed was unaffected, but don't want an account where I'm wondering what will be the story tomorrow.
I came from a sprint unlimited account I had for 12 years. Nothing changed. Unlimited was unlimited, but was very slow. T-mobile seems much faster - but unreliable, and inconsistent.
Hotspot fix for no tether hotspot plan.
Are you guys talking about bypassing tether limit or having tethering on a tmobile plan that has no tether at all? I have old plan that has unlimited no throttle but also no hotspot tether at all and want to know what phone has roms that would give me tether. I have now s7, had v20 rooted but nothing worked for tether kept getting hotspot up sell page with WiFi tether and foxfire.

28 GBs is the soft cap. I have the truly unlimited plan (grandfathered) and I get soft capped at 22 GBs, but my app says it's unlimited.
Back when I had my 5 GB plan, the old app said unlimited too. Then I hit 5 GBs and realized they meant unlimited throttled 2G data and I had to dig through the app before stumbling upon "X/5 GBs of high speed data".
Also video streaming is limited to 480p but you already probably knew that, so yes, technically unlimited data but not really IMO.

People like you are why we have these throttles in place ?
I was using Foxfi to Hotspot my Verizon Grandfathered UDP .... I Just got the Galaxy S8+ and found out the hard way that Google(nougat), Samsung and Verizon teamed up to kill Foxfi's Hotspot hack. Until we have an unlocked boatloader. root or another working exploit, Hotspot isnt going to work on the Galaxy S8..The good news is I was able to find a decent workaround with an app called "Net Share-no-root-tethering" from the play store... It uses Wifi-Direct to share your phones data plan.. It does the trick and I'm able to share my data plan with other wireless devices.. I was literally just about to return my S8+ rather than wait weeks or months for the devs to crack the vault.. Hope this helps ease the tetherless pain while we wait for a new exploit ..
Edit: Please note this is not an equal substitute for native Hotspot.. I found the speeds to be much slower, but for basic internet use like checking email, and web surfing the connection was adequate.

Yeah my Galaxy s8 plus also lets me toggle hotspot without telling my that I need to be subscribe. I have unlimited but I never bought the hotspot plan. Would using the hotspot show on my bill?
Weird since I have Verizon with the Unlimited plan and hotspot does not work, even though it IS included with the plan. OP's app is garbage tbh, I get 50+mbps on speed test on the phone but on my computer I can hardly get above 10. Something is being lost in transmission and it isn't the fault of my PC. Is Wifi direct trash or something?
My phone also tells me that I need to "Subscribe" to the Hotspot feature at Verizon but it is already included in my plan, what gives?
Haven't tried this yet but hope it works on my at& t.

Hey guys, just got an s8+ today and found out that the native hotspot will work if you pop sim tray out, it will then take you to lock screen, pull down tray and turn on hotspot. You may get an error saying no sim installed but just keep pushing hotspot button until it turns on. It is working on mine now but now I am trying to figure out how I can disable ota updates. Anyone have any help for me? Thanks
Been loving my S22 Ultra and exploring various customizations since my Note 5. I have an AT&T Unlimited plan, but it was not supposed to include Hotspot. I was looking into rooting or other options (PdaNet+), but on the S22 Ultra it shows that I can toggle hotspot on.
I was curious if any other S22 Ultra AT&T users know whether they would still try to charge extra for using this (I heard this should be greyed out normally?)
With finally utilizing 5G I been looking to connect my Surface Pro 7 when not at home.
Thank you for the information.
Works for me but my cell plan includes hotspot usage. I had no issues turning it on

That's the thing. It is not in my plan, and from what I can find online it should not even be able to be turned on in the Settings if it is not, yet it is available.
Then they would probably charge you for using it.

Seems shady they would allow the toggle still then. Just out of curiosity; How low does throttling typically happen after the threshold?
Usually to 3g speeds. If is still available. It's allowed probably because the at&t firmware and the unlocked firmware are pretty much the same other than cell service provisions.
Would AT&T suspend my account if I put the sim card in my S908E/DS?
