hi all,
will be another OP7 with modem that support all needed bands for USA att and tmo?
I know that PRO supports it, but I'm interesting in OP7 none PRO.
in a way I'd like to have 60hz display which isn't curved that OP7 has
however, without all needed bands it will be no go for me in USA
anyone know if there will be USA specific OP7? and when?
I just ordered a OnePlus 7 global from banggood. As far as I can tell it should support all the att bands fine. Does it not support the tmob? I'd be a little upset if that were the case but even the official OnePlus Twitter said the op7 will work on usa lte bands.

Sure. But as it is banggood shipping it's likely to be a few weeks.
I am using Oneplus 7(GM1900 china version) with T-Mobile. I am very happy with the phone. It supports almost all the bands except the newest ones (66 and 71). I am getting VoWifi and VoLTE on this phone. Wifi calling from T-mobile also works like a charm.
I think, it supports all ATT LTE bands. I tried H20 sim in it and I am getting LTE. I do not have a att sim to try it out. But H20 runs on ATT and I think ATT also will be working perfect.
Loooook long story short, I returned My US note 20 ultra once i found out it couldn’t be rooted, Ive been rooting phones for over 8 years now i cant stop now lol anyway I ordered The hong kong N980 edition and im just wondering how is the 4g signal in the US Especially considering that theres only gonna be only 3 bands available for my carrier.
4g is finebut 5g is non existent lol
Maybe because I'm on fi

Exactly the same experience.
Though I read elsewhere on this forum that 5g doesn't work on this device outside HK regardless of whether you are in a location with the right 5G bands.
I actually had an aTT 5g version but need dual sim. Got 5G everywhere (more like filling in dead zones gaps where I used to have no signal). It was great. If carriers enable esim like apple devices do on their networks I will switch back immediately, as the carrier models have 2 imeis
The other disadvantage is that these seem to get the slowest updates.

Yeah, The hongkong variant 5g Wont work in the us because Hongkong doesnt share the same 5g band The us do. But it does work in The uk and some parts of europe and ofcourse in hongkong. 4G is all i need personally but is the 4g fast for you?
Yes. But it could be that city centers are emptier because of covid

you need to downgrade to TGM version of the firmware using Odin and 5G will work again from the SIM2 slot only!
I thought they have a way to root US version now. Just cost 150 buck.

Hi, I'll be visiting the US in about 2 weeks and will be getting a prepaid sim for about 6 weeks during my stay there. In the past 5G in the US was not supported as the international variant of the galaxy series was an exynos modem. However this year with the snapdragon modem will there be a difference?
Has anyone tried to bring a global snapdragon version of the s22 ultra, specifically the S908E/DS to the US and gotten 5G to work? I am thinking of either using AT&T or Google Fi. If you have a better recommendation, I'd love to hear it. Or if it won't work in the US, if someone could clarify why, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for all the help!

I see, thanks. So I see some of the bands are supported for 5G with Verizon/Tmobile/AT&T/ etc. Does that mean 5G will partially work, or for that provider to work all of the bands the provider uses must be available?

you can narrow that search down to provider, but you would be best researching the area you will be visiting and which network provider has the best coverage, different carriers use a variety of different bands

Yeah I narrowed it by provider, and as I mentioned the phone has most of the networks, but no mmwave and missing 1 or 2 5G bands, but still has 3-6 bands depending on the provider.

its not the phone missing the band, as such, its just bands are split between devices so as to keep the networks from being overloaded on a single band

Gotcha. In the past I've looked at the 5G coverage map, and pinpointed my location. It says that the area is covered for 5G. At&T's map does not say what bands are covering that area though, it just says 5G. Is there somewhere else you mean I should go?
If it's just there, as I mentioned the s21 ultra that I had last year on the exynos modem didn't work. According to the site you shared, the s22 snapdragon international version has the same bands. So you think it's likely that it won't be supported either, or should I be looking somewhere else?

it doesnt sound like it, but its possible that your carrier maybe or have upgraded its 5g roll out its best to compare current/latest checks from your carrier and manufacturer as the dates for other sites, like the link i shared may not be current

I have an s22 Ultra from T-Mobile that is unlocked and on Verizon. Both should have amazing coverage where I live but it seems I'm getting a lot of 4g LTE and very much less 5g than I was while I was on t-mobile. Do the the Verizon and T-Mobile variant have different bands?

Yes, they have different bands & VZW's 5G coverage isn't anywhere close to T-Mobile's, so, that doesn't surprise me that you aren't on 5G most of the time on VZW.

But my question is, are the phones themselves identical on the inside as far as the bands they're equipped with go?

@Nickdroid86
It appears that they have the same hardware.
However, & I'm not sure about this, but, if you're still running T-Mobile firmware, you might want to switch to VZW's firmware, or, run the US Unlocked firmware.
Again, I'm not sure if the firmware is going to make a difference.
FWIW, I have a T-Mobile S22 Ultra on US Unlocked firmware (XAA) & I'm getting every band available in my area (on T-Mobile's network).
Hopefully, someone else in a similar situation as yours w/an S22 Ultra will chime in.
Good point. I did flash the unlocked 908u1 firmware, that was listed under TMobile though. Back when I wanted to get rid of the bloat and splash screen.

I looked on this site for possible hardware (antenna) differences & it seems to indicate all US Models are identical in that regard:
https://phonedb.net/ (formerly PDADB.net & IIRC,the site is affiliated/owned/etc... by XDA).
I know there are other mfgs that have carrier-specific (VZW) models,to accommodate their flavor of 5G,but,it doesn't seem to be the case w/the S22 Ultra (appears all US Bands are supported).

Cool thanks for that info.
On Jio its showing your phone is not compatible with 5G hence asking
My S22+ also shows up incompatible. I unlocked all the bands on it using a guide on XDA and got 28 NSA, 78 NSA-SA bands to work, still shows up incompatible. The indian version of these phones possibly have 28 SA band which is required on Jio since it's only SA.
Edit: Airtel should work since its a NSA network for now.

If you haven't received 5G welcome offer, changing band won't be helpful. Try to get welcome offer with compatible device first, once you have 5G activated, try it on S22 with changing band.
