USA att and tmo bands? will those be supported? - OnePlus 7 Questions & Answers

hi all,
will be another OP7 with modem that support all needed bands for USA att and tmo?
I know that PRO supports it, but I'm interesting in OP7 none PRO.
in a way I'd like to have 60hz display which isn't curved that OP7 has
however, without all needed bands it will be no go for me in USA
anyone know if there will be USA specific OP7? and when?

I just ordered a OnePlus 7 global from banggood. As far as I can tell it should support all the att bands fine. Does it not support the tmob? I'd be a little upset if that were the case but even the official OnePlus Twitter said the op7 will work on usa lte bands.

Sure. But as it is banggood shipping it's likely to be a few weeks.

I am using Oneplus 7(GM1900 china version) with T-Mobile. I am very happy with the phone. It supports almost all the bands except the newest ones (66 and 71). I am getting VoWifi and VoLTE on this phone. Wifi calling from T-mobile also works like a charm.
I think, it supports all ATT LTE bands. I tried H20 sim in it and I am getting LTE. I do not have a att sim to try it out. But H20 runs on ATT and I think ATT also will be working perfect.

T-Mobile Now, T-Mobile+Sprint later?

From what I have read here, it looks like T-Mobile support for the OnePlus 6 today is very good. Band 71 is supported, as well as Wi-Fi Calling and VoLTE.
I've read about the lack of certification for Verizon and Sprint networks currently, but apparently the OnePlus 6 has CDMA support.
Of course it is just speculation at this point, but does anyone know of any reason why the OnePlus 6 would be unable to operate on the post-merger T-Mobile+Sprint network? I'm assuming if I buy a OnePlus 6 now, the merger would take place during the lifetime of the phone.
Yeah. But it would be probably years before everything merge together by then this phone would be out dated

The CDMA "support" is bands BC0 and BC1. There is no bands for US carriers. This will only work on CDMA networks in other countries if I understand this properly. I'm not totally sure about how the radios work but the OP5 didn't have the antennas included to add band 71 support for T-Mobile even though the modem itself had support for it. So, I'm not sure if support for the correct bands can be added in an update.

Is Axon 10 pro Can be Used in USA

Any one Using Axon 10 pro in USA . When I check I see missing US bands on the phone so want to know that it will work or not
it supports enough bands for LTE with AT&T/T-mobile so it should work perfectly fine in the usa
Showing 10 out of 16 LTE bands for US, not bad.

I live in San Diego and on T-Mobile at it works fine.

Lyca, they use Tmobile network
I'm using an EU model with a Fi sim, works fine.
I'm using the Chinese 8/256 version and it works fine in terms of calls and data but messaging is iffy. Looks like about a third of the SMS people send me is not getting through to me. It appears T-Mobile is using several bands for texting and one or two of those are not supported by this phone. I am now looking at switching carriers but still haven't figured out which one is using all the bands this phone has.
I have imported this phone from China as well. I have the 128GB version. I am on T-MOBILE and everything works fine. There are a couple of issues with the Chinese OS shutting down Google Assistant and the Google news feed, as well as, not being able to access backups on Google, but other than those minor issues, the phone works fine.
The ZTE website for the US shows the Axon 10 Pro has more bands than the kimovil states. I'll believe the manufacturer. Therefore, purchasing the US version of the phone should allow you to use it on many carriers. I've even heard that users on Verizon could use it if they have the phone provisioned for CDMA-less service. (Verizon does this with many other phones, like the Razer Phone 2)
If your planning on using it with a tmobile mvno, the US model has full tmobile band support both 66/71 bands, wifi calling and VoLTE

Haven't tried it yet. First thing I did was unlock the bootloader, rooted with magisk. When I checked the widevine drm, shows it as L3. Won't play Netflix in HD. Someone will have to check their widevine level before unlocking bootloader to verify.

LM-V500N Korean KT version in UK on Vodafone 5G

Hi, I'm using the LM-V500N Korean KT version in the UK on the VODAFONE network. Everything else appears to be working ok except for 5G.
It doesn't connect to the 5G service, only 3G and LTE showing.
Does anyone have any help or suggestions on what could be wrong?
My SIM and 5G coverage is fine as I can use my SIM in a Samsung Galaxy S10 5G and it works fine on 5G.
Currently only EE sells the V50 in the UK, so I was wondering if the V50 is only compatible with the EE 5G service in the UK?
Ok since nobody is able to help answer, my conclusion is that my V50 is 5G locked specifically to KT carrier in Korea.
Only 4G LTE is working fine in UK.
So I guess 5G won't work until I can reflash the phone to European firmware?
Could this unlock the 5G ?
Thanks
where did you get the phone and do you get volte or wificalling..also how loud the phone gets trough wired jack.thanks

Yes, crossflashing is the key, but we don't have a working lgup right now. Let's hope we will.
just sound tested a lg v50 in uk today and is better than my htc 10 volume wise...i think i will go for korean version from wonda as its not worth paying EE 1800 over 2 years.SHOULD I PUSH THE BUY BUTTON OR NOT?
I'll recommend Korean version as it's camera has features like super steady mode which european I don't think it has. Also updates. Yes lg updates are very frequently on Korean. Sometimes twice a month.
In the meantime maybe we get working the 5G. Or maybe not.... For me 5g is not that important. The audio quality is. And the camera, it wasn't in the past, but now that I'm spoiled, it is.
dont really care either about 5g.....not worth price vs coverage...but audio is a MUST.Curious thing is that a month ago i listened to a v50 in an EE shop ,but today a different shop and the audio loudness was twice as the previous one.

By the way the bank aplications work on korean version.Especially barclays aplication or any banks app?
Yes all my banking Apps work in the UK on my V50 Korean KT version. I've not had any issues.
I use Natwest, Virgin Money, Nationwide.
The only app that did not work properly was Sky Go, but this is also now fixed with the latest update I received 2 weeks ago. V500N11r

I bought my V50 on ebay from Korean seller Funphone-International. The price was very good and converted to less than £370 Inc shipping.
I really want tbe 5G to work, so hoping for cross-flash soon as possible.

Hello, I've emailed KT Mobile Service because I was curious if the V500N KT version, which I own too, really locks 5G in a way in their phones and here is their answer:
My question: How can I use the 5G network in my country, Portugal, with my network (NOS). Is it possible, do you have to unlock the 5G network?
-Answer: Originally LG V50 is unlocked also KT doesn't have Carrier lock.
If your provider has 5G service you can use 5G but if they don't, you can not use it.
To check your service, you need to contact LG or your mobile provider.
I don't know why you can't use 5G in your network, but it's not because of KT network.
most of the countries require to have the 5g phones registered to their network and also you need a 5g plan.
Thanks for helping.
I'm on Vodafone Network with 5G service enabled, but the V50 still doesn't work on 5G service. A really mystery.
I've put my SIM card into a different Samsung 5G phone and it works with 5G service showing, so my SIM is ok.
Hi, I have done some more investigations and I used the hidden service menu 5457#*500# to check which radio bands my v500n was using.
Under the Multi Band Selection menu I can see all the LTE bands up to B41 listed and selected, however there is no B78 band in the list.
Does that mean my v500n does not support B78 band which I think is the Vodafone 5G band in the UK?
Can anyone else check their service menu and confirm if B78 band is present?
Thanks
korean is 5g locked ....was confirmed on telegram group
Ok thanks
Is that the reason why LTE band B78 is not appearing in the menu list?
Previous answer from Danix004 is saying 5G is not locked and confirmed by email from KT.
-Answer: Originally LG V50 is unlocked also KT doesn't have Carrier lock
If 5G is truely locked then did anyone on Telegram know how to unlock 5G on the Korean KT version?
Thanks
cant be done until root is possible
Ok I received the official Android 10 update yesterday and my phone is now at version V500N20b
Working really smooth with all the new features.
But still no 5G.

Exactly the same experience.
Though I read elsewhere on this forum that 5g doesn't work on this device outside HK regardless of whether you are in a location with the right 5G bands.
I actually had an aTT 5g version but need dual sim. Got 5G everywhere (more like filling in dead zones gaps where I used to have no signal). It was great. If carriers enable esim like apple devices do on their networks I will switch back immediately, as the carrier models have 2 imeis
The other disadvantage is that these seem to get the slowest updates.

Question Usa carrier support

I've asked this question before and I can't find anything.
Can anybody confirm the 0/B/E versions to work on TMobile or att or mvnos of them?
If someone wants to be so kindid appreciate it. Really wanting to buy one for root.
if you use AT&T, don't buy any international models because they will block your sim. You may call them to unlock it but the sim will be blocked again after a couple days. The reason is AT&T has a list of supported models and international phones are not on their list.
T-Mobile doesn't have such a horrible thing. So yeah, it works.
Oh, and I am using 908E/DS on T-Mobile network.

That’s what I’ve done and been using till now. Bought the 908E on Amazon, unlocked the bootloader and rooted it. No custom rom for it yet other than tha Magisk rom by dr.ketan. I’ve always been an AT&T customer in so many years. They refused to work with me to make my phone work on their network so I switch to T-mobile.
I’m using the S22 Ultra 908E on T-mobile to write this right now. I don’t see any issue. If there is one, the phone is the issue.

Carrier aggregation and 5g all working well for you on t-mobile?

No. I don't expect an international phone to be fully working on a US carrier network such as TMO or ATT due to missing bands. If I have to choose between slower connection and the ability to root, I'd choose the latter one. I chose TMO because it works, white ATT not working at all.
There are wifi networks available almost everywhere I go nowadays. In case there is none, usually when I was driving, 4G/LTE always available and that's good enough.

So to confirm, no signal at all for att/cricket?
What about h20wireless? Redpocket mobile?
What site to use to check compatibility? I'll take slower speeds
To confirm:
1. AT&T blocks your sim right away. Your phone turns into a small tablet. That's it. Nothing you can do about it. I don't bother with smaller companies. I only go for the big boys.
2. T-Mobile will give you slower speed and freedom of root. This comes from my experience. Very little chance I need to use my plan's data. I can't tell the speed is slower at all. As far as carrier's features, I don't use any of them, but I think you can still have them if you change it to proper CSC.
Google search your model then you will find what bands your model support. Then Google search your choice of carrier to see what bands they have. Google is your friend.
Not just slower speed. Theres some areas that band 71 would be required to even get service at all in rural areas. Like just 5 min from my house if you have T-Mobile and your phone doesnt have band 71 no service.

In the end, as @hyelton just said, it all depends on your area, your luck and how you would use your phone... There is no definite answer to the op's question until he figures it out himself. It works for me and I am happy with what I got but that may not apply to everyone else... If the op decides to roll the dice for a chance to get a phone that he can have total freedom over it he can go for it. Otherwise, just buy the one on Samsung website ending with U models and have all of his worries put away. Honestly, I didn't think about any of that when I placed my order.

My OP was based on the international versions because I absolutely have to have root. I have not owned a phone that I could not have root capabilities in over 10 years.
I don't care so much about 5G I just want to have a phone that functions on a US carrier from overseas. Maybe it got lost in translation but I just want to know what carriers people have and if anybody has the carriers that I mentioned with confirmation or denial of service.
Specifically the carriers on most questioned about are H2O wireless and red pocket. I'm not very Google friendly and so I'm not familiar with the bands I'm used to just buying a phone and it working as intended for my purposes.
^^^ You're overthinking it. Just pull up the bandwidths for the carrier you're looking to utilize and go from there. As mentioned you're better served by going for one of the major carriers and maybe their prepaid services. Remember major carriers prioritize their post paid plans first for their optimum network traffic followed by their own respective prepaid plans and finally the MVNOs. I would stay away from the MVNOs in your scenario if you're importing a handset not configured for the U.S to begin it and degrading it further by using an MVNO.
