I can confirm that.
With inserted SIM it is not possible to enter the unlock code. It crashes. Then only restart into mooky-own recovery possible.
Is not fun. Too bad.

This is a problem with ROM. I tried to put the Pixel Experience, it started without problems.
But not work NFC.

Any guide to get a logcat when the device is stuck at the android boot logo? Nothing shows up when I "adb devices" from PC.

OOS camera work with portrait mode, 60fps, all 3 cams, etc.
Android auto works fine.

probably not before q..... even then we would need a experienced tester if we wanted to make things work as no1 in team has a 5g. dunno even what the current issues with it are

The hardware is identical apart from Modem so things like vendor and modem files will be different.
I flashed AOSiP with 5g supported kernel and it boots and camera bluetooth etc works. Just no SIM detected.

Before people ask yes when it boots up it is on 60 fps mode. To change go to settings --> omni gears---> display modes and put it on 3120x1440 90.0000. The 1080p mode seems to break fingerprint and gives you a weird screen off animation.

Edit. Also fingerprint seemed to be pretty hard to setup. Had to press pretty hard to get it to recognise. Works fine now.

Rom working well so far! 90hz initially wasn't working but switching to 60hz then back to 90hz fixed it for me. I can't seem to get UnifiedNlp working with MicroG though. I already removed com.qualcomm.location as the NanoDroid wiki says it could conflict, but to no avail. Could it maybe be that the rom doesn't look for com.google.android.gms as a location provider?

Could you create a zip of them all and make a theme post for it? Or drop it here since i think this is the only rom right now with custom icon ability.

So if coming from another ROM do we format data boot back to TWRP wipe but don't wipe internal, system are vender then flash ROM bla bla bla done ?

Pre-installation:
At this time, OOS 11 firmware is mandatory (OOS 12 firmware will result in boot issues)
Download recovery (from download page, recovery button)
Optional NikGapps core (download - note that you may also need setup wizard addon if you rely on Google restore)

First time installation (clean flash):
Backup your data to PC, OTG flash drive
Enter fastboot
Flash our boot.img in fastboot

Now in recovery go to factory reset and confirm the reset
Reboot to recovery
Choose apply update and Apply from ADB
Now install crDroid zip via sideload

this is not pre-rooted and no prebuilt gapps
crDroid will never have prebuilt gapps
for root with Magisk, see third post

Doogee N20 - Some phones are just hard to modify

After finally unlocking the bootloader, installed TWRP 3.6.0 and rotted with Magisk v23.0. Lets find a custom ROM that suits this phone - WRONG!
I have tried many types of ROM and so far it ends in soft brick. Need advise if you have any. My aim is to install a basic custom ROM , install pico or nano GAPP, and only install like 4 apps on it. phone, sms, navigation, music player etc.
I have tried the following ROM:
Phhusson-treble AOSP andriod version 9, 11 & 12.
GSI arm64 ab ROM
a so call stock ROM
I also tried installing the vendor.img as described here
I would like to use LineageOS but there doesn't seem to be one for this phone
I am now resorting to installing the stock firmware to make the phone work again, instruction here
If anyone has sucessfully rooted this phone using a basic ROM and GAPP please share how you did it and where your download was.

Why did phhuson fail ? That's the basic gsi, every other gsi are build on top of that. If that doesn't work, nothing will.

I install - system-arm64 –ab
I did some research that the Doogee n20 is a arm64 and a+b .... Unless I got the wrong information.
I suspect there maybe some stock firmware files that needs to be installed as well to make it work properly.
A post said it needs vendor.img, I might try sourcing another copy.
Follow up - I got it un-bricked with the stock firmware (android 9) (link in my original post) .... Back to square one .

Most Phh based Gsi works almost perfectly for me.
You can try this:
- Download and install Twrp 3.6.1 here
- Download LineageOS 18.1 (lir) here Choose "arm64 bvZ" version
- Download stock rom here or Y9Plus variant here
- Extract the Gsi, and the vendor image from the stock rom
- I restarted in Twrp, go to wipe and select system, data, cache...
- Go install and flash the Gsi as system image, and vendor as vendor image
-reboot
