Blue Angle - security pin on start up?

Does anyone know how I can set up my BA so that when it is turned on you need to enter as password before you can access the device?
I have found the setting to set up a password on the phone element but not the whole device.
On my old Ipaq 3970 this was possible.
Thanks
Look in Start => Settings => The middle tab (forgot the name) => Password. Good Luck!
Have tried....but no success
Hi,
I have looked for the 'password' in the settings section....in my version of Windows Mobile 2003 it is not there........any other suggestions?

[Q] Moto G File manager & Wifi Issue

I just received my Moto G 16GB. The phone is grate. But I have two main issues that just makes the phone useless.
1) I can't seem to find a File Manager. When I connect the phone to PC via USB cable, I can see a list of folders like audio, video, download, Android, etc.. But in the phone I don't know how to access them. Below are the only apps I have on my Moto G.
Screen 1: see attachment screen1
Screen 2: see attachment screen 2
2) My office wifi has a security setting in which I have to enter both my username and password to connect. When I connect my Moto G to the office wifi network, it asks for the username and I can enter it. But the password field is shown only half. I can't enter the password. See the image. I can't scroll down. Please help with these issues.

Congrats @arkkrish for getting Moto G, i also got new MG
to access files from phone you need file manager like ES File Explorer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=en
for password entry issue you minimize the keyboard by touching \/ navigation button
and point the cursor to password entry field. this should work.

I did... but, not working.
I finally enabled 3G data and downloaded the wifi manager app. I can now connect through this app. (I can enter both username and password in this app. But not through Settings.
I resolved it with Add New Network.

I too had the same problem. On top of this, the phone was getting wrong security type for the wi-fi network. I just resolved it by using "add new network" + sign option on the network list screen. I gave the same network name and selected correct security type and other details. It connected just fine. Luckily I have done this kind of act on my home wi-fi for some computer devices, so it came handy.
Hope this helps

I solved this way:
- Provide some data, click on connect
- While it tries to connect, long tap on the network name, then select Modify
There you will have all the input fields you need. Needs a bit of patience though, because the faulty screen will pop up several times, if you click Connect on it you can continue to add your info.

Tried it. Didn't work. I long tapped on the network name and selected Modify Network. But there is no password field. There was an 'Show Advanced Option' checkbox though. When I selected it, two more settings were made visible - Proxy and IP settings. No Password field.

Google FRP Protection - A Journey Into The Matrix

As always each platform will evolve and have methods to protect users from theft of mobile devices. Google has Factory Reset Protection, and I'd like to share my experiences with this security feature on a Tabe E (SM-T560NU)
Background:
One of my local pawn shops always has deals on broken/locked devices and I know the owner and his son, so I frequently buy items. Some I'm able to fix, others can be bypassed.
About a month ago they had a Samsung Tab E, which I believe I paid $60 for. It was FRP Locked, and based on what I read online, I was sure I could unlock it.
Well, to my dismay I found out it had the latest patches and would not work with the old USB OTG hack.
However, I did find a hack that did give me some interesting results. One hack/triuck is to enable a wifi hotspot on your phone, and connect the FRP Locked device to that hotspot. Just when it is looking for software updates, kill the connection. It will complain it can't connect and will allow you to set the date and continue setup. However, the latest patches will simply restart Setup if you have not verified your Google Account.
However, I discovered that you can manually enable certian subsets of the device to work despite having FRP Lock enabled.
Once I used the WiFi hotspot trick, I created a pattern lock using the Setup Wizard. With this enabled, the Camera icon now shows up on the lock screen which you can use to access a few apps.
I went through the setup wizard one more time to enable my default WiFi connection so all future access wouldn't need the hotspot.
You can take photos then review them, and use the Share This menu action to access other apps. Most apps only allow you to access a specific instance, for example selecting Notes will only let you create a note, you cannot go back and see other notes you created. If you choose to share via Gmail, you can click the button "learn more" and this will allow you to access Google Chrome.
Note, I watched the latest video by rootjunky and tried to long tap the gmail and although it did show me app settings, it would not give me any access to change settings or go into the phone settings itself.
You can even use the file:/// protocal.
If you download an APK, it will download, but you can't open it. If you use file:///sdcard to see the internal SD and try opening an apk you downloaded, it treats it as another instance of download and asks if you want to replace your existing copy.
By browsing to the youtube site it opened the YouTube App, but as the device is FRP locked, any attempt to sign in won't work as the device will want the original account that was used.
OTG does function, as I'm typing this post using the tablet with a USB keyboard. If I plug in a USB flash drive the drive does flash it's LED so I can assume it works. I'm working on finding the mountpoints for OTG and external SD so I can try other actions.
I'm curious if I can access the built in media player, and will try loading the SD card with video files. But if chrome treats all files accessed by the file:/// protocal as downloads that may not work.
So security isn't always 100% as I now have a semi functional tablet which for my most basic needs, works perfectly. But I'm still working on learning more about the sandbox that must be implemented on these apps.
UPDATE: After playing around with the device, I found that if I used Media Share as a share to option, it would pop up and ask if I wanted to update it as it was outdated. This took me of course to the Samsung Apps, not Google Play. At this point I could install ES Explorer and get access to Settings and QuickShortcuts which allowed me to follow RootJunky's guide for disabling FRP. Note that will only work if you have an outdated version of Media Share.
I will post a full guide on this method in a day or so (It's 9:30PM work tomorrow) and we will see how long this bypass works. For those brave enough if you combine rootjunky's method with what I posted here, you should be good.
I so took the red pill.

Stock Oreo: Can't Add 802.1x EAP Wifi - Settings Force Close

Hi,
I seem to be getting a force close of the settings app while trying to add my work's wifi manually as it's hidden. It doesn't seem to matter that I'm entering a real network or not, the process outlined below seems to produce a force close. Does anyone else experience this? I've tried two firmware versions "1305-2808 Telecom NZ 41.3.A.0.401" and "1305-1859 Customized AU 41.3.A.2.58", both give me the same error.
What's happening:
Open Settings
Press "Network & Internet"
Press "Wi-Fi"
Press "Add Network"
Enter any Network Name & select Security "802.1x EAP"
Set CA certificate "Do not validate" and enter any Identity and any Password
Press "Save"
Receive force close message "Settings has stopped"
Does anyone have any possible advice?
Cheers!
Just bumping, can anyone re-create this issue or is it just me?
41.3.A.2.107 - i have tried and also FC on settings, so you are not alone
Thanks! But dang, I guess it shows Sony really doesn't have much sales to corporate then if a problem like this exists. Not exactly an uncommon setup. Hopefully when 8.1 comes out it'll be resolved.

Hello, i have submitted the issue to Sony and they replied
"
Some secured Wi-Fi® connections require either server or mutual authentication. To be able to use these connections, you have to acquire and install two files on the device.
ca certificate
To enable the configuration of server authentication
The file should be in PEM format
The file extension must be .crt
client certificate
To enable the configuration of mutual authentication together with the ca certificate.
The file must be in PKCS #12 format and contain both the certificate and the private key for the client.
The file should be password protected with a known password
The file extension must be .pfx
Note! If the certificates are not available at the time of configuration, contact the administrator of the network you are trying to connect to, and request the certificates.
Android™ 8.0
To activate and install certificates files on the phone
Find and tap Settings > Lock screen & Security > Encryption & Credentials > Trusted credentials.
Drag the slider by a credential to the right to activate it.
If you want to install other credentials than the ones available:
Computer: Copy the two certificate files to the root folder of the internal storage, or the root folder of the memory card if no internal storage is available.
Phone: Find and tap Settings > Lock screen & Security > Encryption & Credentials > Install from device memory/SD card.
In the list of available certificates, tap the applicable files to install them
However, we are unable to provide the specific date for the release of software update specifically on your phone as it goes out batches by batches. Nonetheless, please wait for the notification to be sent directly through your phone to update.
At the same time, please make sure that your phone has enough free internal memory space for the update.
You can do so by moving media applications such as pictures, music, videos, WeChat and Whatsapp pictures to you SD Card using the File Commander Application or by clearing the Cache memory of all applications (Settings>Storage>Cached Data>OK)"
Btw, if you have any solution to fix the battery drain on the xperia xz , i would gladly accept it

Thanks for looking into this. I'll give this a go but I'm not sure if it'll work (or if our network team will give me the certs). My force close is experienced when attempting to manually add any 802.1x network with any settings at all and isn't specific to any particular network as per my steps. Something I missed in my original post is that our corporate network's SSID is hidden so i can't select it from the list of networks to add.
Fortunately, I've managed a work around for my situation in that I'm now using my company's guest wifi rather than the semi-trusted wifi zone.
Thanks again!
Unfortunately I don't have any fixes for the battery drain on the XZ, I'm reasonably content with the battery I'm getting out of mine in fact!
