What should i do ?
Please help me.
Thanks a lot
wat? time changes to wat?
Maybe it sychronize with your desktop during synch, or you use a GPS program with checked the option to update time from satelites.
Start -> Settings -> Phone -> Time Zones -> Uncheck [Automatic change time zone and clock]
It's a gps software
Been there
Hated it
i have this problem when i use Active Sync .
if the computer time is 13:00 , my raphael turns to 14:00
theres no any registry for this time change ?
I have the same issue...
i guess it's due to daylight saving time.
I've the time set correctly in my PC with timezone and DST option turned off.
same for the touch pro, i disabled the automatic DST setting.
still whenever i connect the phone to the PC the time is increased by one hour.
i had the same issue in my TyTnII as well.
any suggestion?
On the PC. Go to Activesync > Tools > Options > Settings..
Uncheck "Synchronize Smartphone date and time upon connecting"

Mine too, eery minute it automatically changes...
Thanks DSF...
done it on my laptop with XP.
but do you have a solution for Vista?
Sorry, haven't used Mobile Device Center . It really doesn't have some options to set?
Try to modify via registry.. maybe it is similar to ActiveSync.
On your PC:
HKEY_CURENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows CE Services > Partners > [partner_id] > Services > Syncronization
Sync Time on Dock = 0
That's on my PC using XP.
If the path doesn't exist, simply search the registry for "Sync Time on Dock" or "Sync Time", maybe you can reach it.
Don't forget that you must have the partnership created before this.
DSF,
Thank you... you have stop my insanity!
its soooo annoying. i want my clocked synced with my pc. but it keeps adding dst!
It because daylight saving is not updated on the phones. All PC seem to update correctly but not the phones
Might help someone
Hello,
My TouchPro changes the city that I select as a time zone to another city (Windheok), but which is still in the same time zone (GMT +2), every time I reboot it. Also it advances the time by only 15min! I already installed microsft DST 2008 fix but with no help. My phone was doing that ever since I bought it.
The only thing that helped was Start -> Settings -> Phone -> Time Zones -> Uncheck [Automatic change time zone and clock].
Although it's a trivial option to have the phone automatically detect DST I still like it and find it practical. Anyone know a workaround?
Thanks.
Here is a collection of some hacks that I have found for the Samsung Jack. I hope you all find it useful. Hopefully we can get a collection of hacks on this thread to tailor our Jacks the way we like.
To reset the handset’s factory settings, via buttons, follow the steps below:
WARNING: This Reset will Delete ALL added Data from the Handsets Memory
When the handset is powered off, Press and Hold the 5 key then power on the handset
Press either the 1 key (Master Clear) or 2 key (Master Reset) at the Format Menu screen then press the Y key (Yes) at the confirmation prompt
Note: To turn the SGH-I637 (Jack) on or off simply Press & Hold the power button , located on the upper left side of the handset.
ADMIN settings-
You do not have to unlock security on the phone to be able to do this...
1) From the home screen type in *#1546792*#
2) pick 3 for network and call settings
3) Set network order to Auto, and network mode to auto
***Alternate***
In the \Windows directory there is a program called Adminsettings.exe. You can create a short cut in the Startmenu and not have to type out all of the
numbers.
Unlock security on the Jack-
http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=news&id=7565
• The first step of removing the security limitations is to download the ClearSecurity file.
• Next, connect the Samsung Jack to the computer and move the file to the device through ActiveSync.
• Install ClearSecurity and launch Microsoft’s Security Configuration Manager.
• Select Security Off from the drop down menu and click the Provision button, the program will install a file called Tool.
• Run a registry editor program like Total Commander or Mobile Registry Editor and delete the key ForceCellConnection from:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Comm>InternetSharing>Settings.
Make sure after you are done with the unlock procedure that you uninstall clearsecurity.cab, it will be called "SOTI MobiControl Device Agent" in remove
programs.
So far, the only button I have found to be able to reprogram is the AT&T button on the bottom left of the keyboard. It invokes MediaNet.lnk in the
\Windows directory. You can modify the shortcut to point to whatever program you want.
How about some tweaks as well.
Change StartMenu from grid view to list view:
HKCU > Software > Microsoft > Shell > StartMenu > Gridview. Change the value from 1 to 0.
Arrange the StartMenu list in the order that you want it:
HKCU > Software > Microsoft > Shell > StartMenu > Order. Just edit the values placing them in the order you want them to appear in the start menu.
Delete shortcuts in the StartMenu you do not want:
This requires the phone to be app unlocked. Install Total Commander V. 2.51 and navigate to the StartMenu folder in the Windows directory. Total Commander will allow you to delete shortcuts where Windows won't.
Change ringtone size limitation:
HKCU > ControlPanel > Sounds > FileSizeLimit. Just edit the value to any size you'd like.
Add custom alert tones to the default lists, without them appearing in the ringtone list:
HKCU > ControlPanel > Sounds > AllSounds. Add the the file name to the value list and then drop the file itself into the Windows system directory. It will appear in the settings lists.
Disable the AT&T sliding panel, if using the sliding panels homescreen:
HKLM > Software > Microsoft > CHome > CCustomPlugin1 > Disabled. Change the value from 0 to 1.
Disable threaded messaging:
HKCU > Software > Microsoft > Inbox > Settings > OEM > SMSInboxThreadingDisabled. Change the value from 0 to 1.
Cool tweaks is good too, Thanks.
Disable 3G in the Settings menu:
The phone will need to be app unlocked. Navigate to the following registry key, HKLM > Security> Phone > ManualDisable, and change the value from 1 to 0. Exit the registry. Go to Settings > Phone > Networks. Change Network selection to Manual. Hit the Menu option on the lower righthand corner and choose Select a Network. Depending on the signals you are picking up, you will get GSM and/or 3G. You may see GSM more than once if you are picking up a signal from more than one tower. If you get two, try both to see which gives you a better signal of the two. Improvement with signal and battery life will be minimal, depending on the area. It did help me with dropped calls.
The pocketnow.com site has dropped the app unlock article. However the 1800pocketpc.com one is still up. However, some are posting there that they are not having success with the process. Last I checked, megaupload.com was still hosting the clearsecurity cab. If you are going to try it. You better do it quick. Seems like Microsoft and/or AT&T may be working to put a stop to the unlocking.

Is anyone else having trouble running Microsoft's Security Configurator? Running a Vista machine and as soon as the program runs, I get an error that shuts down the program.
I was able to install ClearSecurity but can't get into the configurator to drop the security settings.
Won't run in Vista. Sorry
Well that just sucks.
Dear crt60:
I can not find the ClearSecurity program. I get an error message on the link http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=por...t=news&id=7565
Best regards
Check post 5 he upped it to this server.
Here is tool.cab for those that can't run Microsoft security configurator. It is the same tool.cab that it installs to unlock the registry.
Thanks. I'll download and give it a try.
Samsung JACK SGH-i637 Hacks
I'm coming to the Samsung world from HTC and I had a couple of questions.
1. I've looked around for a tool like the advanced configuration tool and cannot find one that will work on the Jack. Is there something out there that will work on winmo 6.1 standard?
2. In lue of a tool that will do this, is there a registry key I can change/set that will disable my 3g connection after a period of inactivity. i.e. I check do a send/receive to check my mail and then after 1 minute of no traffic, the 3g connection is terminated.
This is something that you could do with the advanced configuration tool. This comes in handy for saving battery life.
Thanks for any insight!
Samsung JACK SGH-i637 Hacks
FYI: I found the info below here: http://blog.vivekjishtu.com/2008/08/auto-disconnect-gprs3g-on-i780.html
To change the settings follow the detailed steps listed on this page. I have listed the steps in brief. You will need to use the registry editor to make the changes.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings\
The 1st key is DWORD CacheTime the number denotes the number of seconds to wait before the auto disconnect, by default it is 600 seconds.
the 2nd key is Multiline value / String SuspendResume which can have 2 values
"~GPRS!" - 3G always On
"GPRS_bye_if_device_off" - timeout after CacheTime

I unlocked my Samsung Jack as described above but from another website and deleted Internet Sharing. Much to my dismay, I did not have to delete the registry entry and I lost some of the internet sharing capabilities. Can someone give me the complete registry entry for Internet Sharing. If I can't get the entry I will have to reset the phone and lose all of my work up to now.

I am not sure if it fixed the problem completely or not. I can do Internet sharing using Wireless Manager, but I only have USB and Bluetooth under the Internet Sharing tab. Thanks for the help. One question if you have time to answer - I assume that there was not an entry under Default?

Yes, default is blank, no value, and USB and bluetooth connection to your PC from your phone is all there is.
This hack is so you can tether your phone from your PC and use it as an internet modem with Media Net.
Now you can connect to your 3G on your phone with your PC.
Hi there,
If you have a few questions regarding the safe.my.windows.phone software. Anybody who have used it before please help me out!
1. If I have already set my password, how do I change it?
2. If I want to set a password only for unlocking when I remotely lock it and not for prompting when device is not used, how do I do this? As far as I know, I can only set a password if I tick the check box 'Prompt if device unused for'.
3. Finally, I've finished my trial evaluation of the software and want to uninstall it. However, after uninstallation, my phone is still asking me for the password to unlock my phone whenever the screen is turned on (unfortunately I set to prompt for password every 0 minutes and I can't find the password page to change this). How do I completely remove this?!
I tried re-installing but the page that asks you for the password after the first installation doesn't come up anymore I also then tried uninstalling after re-installating but the asking of the password still comes up everytime I turn on my screen!
Many thanks!
After two weeks of waiting for an email from [email protected] to come back to me, I can only warn everybody here to not install this application! Obviously the program is flawed (doesn't have a place to remove it) and you don't get any support. Don't install, don't buy! ><
Just as I thought a hard reset was around the corner...JGUI replied! Going back to the password settings page is actually very simple. Just go to Settings --> (Personal tab) Lock. From there you can set when to prompt and what password to use.
Still, there is a limitation where if you want the program to lock your phone when the correct SMS comes in, you need to activate this password protection but you can set this to 24hrs rather than 0min like I did.
What's a good VNC or VNC-like client for the TP2? I've tried a few and all fail. I'm running realVNC server on my home computer, I know the IP and port, have the password set, etc.
· I try to connect with this VNC client and it does nothing (after clicking connect, nothing is running, no screen comes up) - http://www.cs.utah.edu/~midgley/wince/vnc.html
· I try to connect with this other VNC client and it just hangs in the background as a hidden process. No visuals. -
http://sourceforge.net/projects/dotnetvnc/files/
· Additionally I tried a different app instead of VNC, Omnipresence. It's made for the diamond but I was hoping it'd work for me. I ran the server on my PC, installed the cab on my phone, ran the app, and attempted to connect.. I get this lengthy error: "Error while connecting: An error message is available for this exception but cannot be displayed"... blah blah blah blah blah.
Also, the omnipresence zip contains a dll but no instructions on what to do with it. I dunno if it goes on my phone or PC or what. I have .net compact framework version 3.5 (or later) installed on my phone. I have .net framework 4 on my PC.
What will it take to get an exact representation of my desktop showing on my phone screen? Preferably one that doesn't have to be resized to the lowest possible resolution? Ideally one that allows for panning around on the desktop by sliding across the screen (as omnipresence seems to do)?

You don't have to read anymore, but I thought I should share the various bits and pieces I had to figure out to get remote desktop (not VNC but almost as good) running on WM 6.5 (connecting to windows 7)...
1. On the PC, click start, type remote in the search box, and choose the option that says allow remote access to your pc. Of the three options in the middle, choose the one that says allow connections from any version of remote desktop. Note: To change this settings you need to enable windows firewall. You may have made a habit of disabling it (it used to be a nuisance in XP)... to re-enable, click start --> type services.msc in the search box and click on the result. Go to the w's for windows firewall. Double click it, change the startup type to manual and click apply (unless it already is) then click start. OK to close.
2. If you normally login to windows with a blank password, (maybe skip the login process entirely) click start, type gpedit.msc, click the result, navigate to computer config - windows settings - security settings - local policies - security options and find the entry near the top: Limit local use of blank passwords etc. ...double click that and change it to disabled.
3. Not sure if it's strictly necessary, and some may balk at the idea, but you might choose to shut down the firewall once that settings in step one is changed. Same steps, except you click stop instead of start.
4. On the phone, start the client and type in your IP in the first blank. Make sure it's your external IP, i.e. the one you get when you visit this site: http://whatismyip.com . For the user name blank, use your windows user name. If you need to double check it (i.e. you automatically login and forgot) click start on your PC. It'll be at the top right.
5. On the phone, go to settings --> all settings --> connections --> connections and then go to the advanced tab, then select networks --> change both dropdown boxes to your phone's internet connection (in my case, Sprint. Possibly "My ISP" could work?)
6. Here's the dumb part that had me bashing my head against the wall. The phone's connection to the internet needs to be 'goosed' before remote desktop can work. You need to open your web browser and browse to any site. Possibly some other internet-using app would work. Once you load any site, you can exit the browser and finally... FINALLY connect.
7. Fire up remote desktop, change the options to your liking, click connect.
Got it going with some help from ppcgeeks. Also got VNC working. If anyone is having trouble, I recommend reading this post:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/htc-touch-pro-2/134014-remote-desktop-vnc-guide.html
Hi,
I was changing my PIN on my Samsung Note 3. After putting in the current PIN and then putting in the new PIN. I was prompted to confirm the PIN. The "settings app" was then forced closed. I returned to the PIN change setting but my current PIN nor the new PIN that I was trying to change to worked. I then restarted my phone and I'm completely locked out.
If the PIN was not changed due to the force close of 'settings' shouldn't the PIN be unchanged? I tried all PINs I've used in the past as well as 1111,0000,1234, last 4 digits of phone number, SSN... everything but still doesn't work.
Any suggestions? I don't want to factory reset the phone. Please help! Please!
------UPDATE-------
I found that using Google's Android Device Manager I can remotely change the PIN. I can see from the website and also on the phone that the password is changing. If I change from a numberic PIN to a text password, the password input keypad changes from number only to a full keyboard. So, i'm sure that the password was changed remotely. However, the temporary password that I recent using Android Device Manager still doesn't work!!!! Can anyone help?
