Android 10 px5 - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

Any chance of this?

Did your phone received 5 major android upgrades ?
Px5 is selling since Android 6

Am talking about a custom rom

For now, all I know is:
https://yadi.sk/d/umCvHqCDzHccr/RockChip%20PX5%20Android%2010/CHS
CHS Firmware Android 10.

Requesting mod move to q&a. This has been discussed and answered previously and doesn't progress software development.

Thread moved to Q&A

Do not update to android 10. There is no real advantage, and you will just risk problems for nothing.

Hi!
Given the fact that this phone is pretty recent, I hope we can get a Nougat update soon. :good:
Besides I'm very happy with it. It's a really good cellphone. I paid it 199€.
Good value for the price I think.

But what's mean LTU ?
I don't think this device will see any updates at all. I mean security patch level is from September 2016. The firmware on the device is the last one they provided to their beta testers ( I'm one as well). They managed to fix plenty of issues during those test months (weekly updates) but since release this device is forgotten.
The Helio P10 can run Nougat fine, as seen on some Sony handsets with the same SoC.
Don't get your hopes up.
I think that too we don't get nougat. But now we even don't have any custom ROM or TWRP

Oreo for PX5 2GB Headunits ?

Hi.. Will I ever be able to get Android 8 Oreo on my Witson PX5 MTCD 2GB system ?
Not yet, but the programmers are working on it.
Follow the thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/mtcd-software-development/px5-oreo-rom-t3736950
But why the programmers are working on it? The systems already exists. You can stll buy 2GB P5 Android Oreo Systems. One example:
http://www.erisinwholesale.com/special-car-dvd/audi/erisin-es5878a-7-android-80-bluetooth-car-audio-dvd-player-gps-dab-dvr-wifi-for-audi-a4-seat-exeo-817.html
The right Question is: Who can extract the firmware from 2GB PX5 Systems or who can give us the Oreo image files for 2GB Sytems?

If you would read the thread that was posted before you would see that is exactly what they are trying to do. Make it possible to update from marshmallow to oreo.

Hello. I prefer using magisk over SU. And I just wrote up a guide a few days back on how to do that (as long as your running Android Oreo/EMUI 8.

That's tough to answer.....it's all a manner of opinion really. I had slightly better SOT though in emui 5 (since its running Android Nougat) where as emui 8 us Android Oreo. Truthfully I flashed an AOSP ROM after I upgraded to emui 8 because once you go to emui 8 / Android Oreo, it enables treble support. I'm not a big fan of emui in the first place though. However, the AOSP ROM's are newer so they are still wip when it comes to working 100% for the huawei mate 9.
May I ask what custom ROM you are using? And how do you find it? What's your SOT?

Download firmware from http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/ (if available) and unpack update.app from update.zip
Open update.app in Huawei Update Extractor and extract ramdisk.img, this is the boot image file that magisk manager needs to patch.

I'm currently using fRomFuture, and truthfully i was gonna get oreo the install RR (assuming it can work with my model). My screen on time is around 4-5 hours. If you're willing id appreciate some help on the process cause installing roms and stuff on huawei is not my strong point

Okay... Sorry for the delay.
You'll obviously have to go back to stock first. And then hisuite should work to upgrade to Oreo. Just trying to think what the best way to return to stock would be for your model version and get you upgraded to Oreo.
i see this requires Microsoft Windows. i only have Linux. any suggestions?

Too late... unless you've got a bootloader unlock code before July 24. Did you? I'll guess not, hence...no root for you, enjoy GPU Turbo and Pie (whenever that comes).

Could any one let me know which is the latest software update for Huawei watch 2 . I have the version in attached images.

Thanks

The first Screen shot is the rolling software version of the WearOS App. IIRC, this is someting like v1.1 by default, but its also one of the first to get its updates. As time of writing, it should be, at v2.23.
The other screen tells us the Watch 2, is running Android 8 (I.e. Oreo), and the most current Security Patch is indeed from October 1st 2018.
Also there is an Android 9 (Pie) frimware posted on this Board. Which is even older, and in my experience brought my watch to a crawl. It also lost the ability to talk with the Huweai Health App, which I use to moniter my sleep mostly.

This is something the seller has to sort out.
Did you already asked him about updates? Firmware and MCU?

I think you might have a look into this sub forum: https://forum.xda-developers.com/f/fyt-android-head-units.12445/
There SC9853i units are hosted.
I informed a mod to move this thread.
