When will we know if Op7 pro has an unlocked bootloader?... I mean Oneplus is still chinese ..like Huawei.. and they locked it after a while.
sorry for click-baity title but want to know if I should risk buying it the first day and then find out later I will never be able to flash anything..or should I wait (and how long) to see if its unlockable.. ?

My 6t was unlockable. Don't think they will lock it down. But don't buy the us versions, the us locks down bootloader ex Samsung phones just like the T-Mobile 6t. If you buy the international varient, should be unlockable

I think better said is don't buy carrier versions. The unlockable bootloader is still a big selling point to its OP's core audience.

Not exactly true I'm running the TMobile variant 6T just rebranded to OOS to unlock the bootloader. But if it's anything like the T-Mobile 6T as long as you can get the phone Sim unlocked you can bootloader unlock it
I'm aware of the tool that came out. Who wants to do all that?

If I where you, I think i would just get the international one to avoid carrier related lockdowns.
I'm sure that the developers here will attempt the same process with T-Mobile's 7 pro like was done with the T-Mobile's 6T and try to find a way to unlock the bootloader. Me personally, I was so content with T-Mobile's version that I stayed away from the section for a few months.
When ordering on the canadian site, will that version be bootloader unlockable?
I unlocked my 6T after talking with reps. They agreed to unlock my SIM after I made two installments, for a total of around $83, only a couple weeks after getting my phone. It was well worth it, and went towards the phone, anyway!

Okay so obviously the phone will be sold on TMobile. However, I am not a TMobile customer. I am going to the popup event tomorrow tho and was wondering, can I buy a 7pro and have it unlocked right then and there from TMobile?

If it was anything like the 6T, even if you buy it out-right, there was a 40 day wait period to get it unlocked.

Many people were getting it unlocked without the wait. Even then people have sim unlocked the 6t without TMobile just from some fastboot codes. Think the same for the 7 pro would work?

Yeah I was kind of thinking the same thing. Like I said T-Mobile is the exclusive, they wouldn't be outright selling the Unlocked version.
EDIT: Alrighty then guess they did this time around

I could also use this. Mine isn't blacklisted, I just received a warranty replacement but never reactivated it on my tmobile account before leaving. Everything is paid off. Just need a way to SIM unlock my paid off T-Mobile branded OnePlus 7 Pro without having to go back to T-Mobile.

Hey bro, I hope you got to later unlock your phone, if yes how did you do it
I just got a Tmobile Oneplus 8 from a local sale, went straight to XDA for guide on how to sim unlock/bootloader unlock but couldn't find any solid response so I figured I asked. It looks like mobdeep or so (spelling error) could sim unlock and allow bootloader unlock for the device but he is pausing his service? Is that the only way for now? I mean my fiance has t-mobile but I doubt she would want to use my oneplus 8 for 40 days then call in and attempt for an unlock? Do I have to wait until mobdeep resume his service?
I have Tmobile service through a prepaid so I can't call in myself bc it's not an official tmobile account. If someone can guide me that will be awesome. Thanks again!

is there a way to use msm to flash a global rom then update to android 11 beta and then use oem unlock and then use fastboot commands???
That's how i unlocked my bootloader on the tmobile oneplus 7 pro that i financed!
Has Tmo released A11 update yet?
Edit:
Answer:
As per the official information, T-Mobile, a US carrier, has started the development of Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 for the several OnePlus devices.
The Android 11 development is in progress for the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7T Pro, OnePlus 7 Pro, and OnePlus 6T devices.
After the development process, T-Mobile will start the testing Android 11 for the above-listed devices. The whole process may take up to 30 days for a stable rollout.
I just purchased an 8T that said "Intl. Version factory unlocked". I found some information (5 minutes after buying) that the Intl or global wont work with T Mobile here in the US. Is this true?

What are you talking about? You can easily root the T-Mobile 8T. There are plenty of guides available. No more complicated than the International or European version.
