Has anyone received the bootloader unlock email with the unlock codes after requesting them from Motorola?
I went through the steps at https://support.motorola.com/us/en/bootloader/unlockyourdeviceb.
Moto website confirmed the device is unlockable.
I clicked yes on the last popup accepting that this will void my warranty.
Unfortunately the unlock codes never arrive in my email. They're not in my spam folder. I've tried two different email addresses. It's been more than 24 hours since I submitted the request.
Found an answer. The bootloader web page does not appear to finish with Firefox. I requested a code again using Microsoft Edge & the email arrived quickly.
worked for me with FF. Just no response after hitting the blue button, and took about 40 min to arrive. Moto tech support swore up and down it was because phone not qualified for unlock since it does not appear on list of qualified devices. Did not occur to them that phone is newer than list.
Use Google chrome even if u got the code it still won't let you unlock the bootloader.

I was able to unlock the bootloader just fine once I received the unlock code. Not sure why I would want to use chrome as a web browser, it's essentially spyware at this point.

Assuming you have enabled OEM Unlocking in the Developer Options on the phone, I would run the fastboot oem get_unlock_data command again. You should receive something like:
Code:
(bootloader) 0A40040192024205#4C4D3556313230
(bootloader) 30373731363031303332323239#BD00

(bootloader) 1A3E5#1F53280002000000000000000
(bootloader) 0000000
Follow the instructions and format it correctly, should look like:
Code:
0A40040192024205#4C4D355631323030373731363031303332323239#BD008A672BA4746C2CE02328A2AC0C39F951A3E5#1F532800020000000000000000000000
Then resubmit it to Motorola and see if you get a different unlock code.
If that doesn't work I would contact Motorola support.

No thanks. I can see from your screenshot that you are connecting to the phone via fastboot which can be the hardest part.
Have you tried retrieving the info from your phone again & resubmitting it to Motorola as I suggested?

Hey, I didn't receive a photo. Run the fastboot oem get_unlock_data command & copy it into a PM & I'll take a look. If you're retrieving & submitting the correct info and receiving the invalid unlock code, Motorola's bootloader unlock website must be broken. I just resubmitted my unlock data as a test and received an email with the correct unlock code so it does not appear to be a problem with the Motorola website..

I don't think that's the way to unlock your bootloader... You have to go to the Motorola website and enter the code and they'll send you an unlock code.
Then you have to type
Code:
$ fastboot oem unlock UNIQUE_KEY
UNIQUE_KEY is replaced by the code they sent you.
Press thanks of I helped you.

I DID. According to the screenshot, you didn't write $ at the beginning. Also, you wrote (unlock code) instead of the code you received per email. Please study your own screenshots before posting.

BTW,

Code:

so thanks to Wendy_W from Motorola forums I have succesfully unlocked my moto g following his instructions in this post:
Code:
https://forums.motorola.com/posts/f2061da875
it seems there was such a problem when unlocking bootloader at moto g 4.4.4 kitkat... so they released a fix img to make it possible... so according to them:
If you are on a Moto G on 4.4.4 and encounter the 'password incorrect' error, please:
Download this ZIP file
Code:
https://forums.motorola.com/files/51c3cbf839/G_4.4.4.BL_Fix.zip
and follow the instructions in the ZIP file. This only applies to users for Moto G , first generation, on 4.4.4. Please do not try these steps on a Moto G 4G LTE, or second generation G.
If your device is still on 4.4.3, please wait until the 4.4.4 upgrade before attempting this - thanks

I'm following the Motorola forum for this problem, they say that is a problem with the new kit Kat update and are working to solve it, but who knows when.
I had a code error (not at this stage, but when entering unlock string into Moto website). Copying into Word document first seemed to solve it. No harm in trying I suppose.
Copy and paste can carry text formatting with it. Manually type the code to avoid errors.

I downloaded it from their forum.
forums.motorola.com/posts/f2061da875?commentId=831032#831032[/url]
But i cant apply the fix. It has 2 .img files and a couple of txt files. I've been trying everything I know with the adb for 2 days now. I cant flash the fix. Please somebody help me.
I've posted my problem in their forum hoping for a solution.
Sorry guys, but unlocking bootloader through adb and fastboot didn't worked. It asked to unlock bootloader with yes (vol up) or no (vol down) and i pressed vol up, but it failed instantly and it let me to the screen with normal reboot, recovery and bootloader options (volume keys don't work for some reason on that screen so i pressed power and volume keys at the same time 10-15 sec to power off).
Without unlocked bootloader, we can't have root, custom recovery and custom ROMs.
That means that unofficial way doesn't work so we need to wait Nokia to give us codes (like in Huawei phones) or provide a official way of unlocking bootloader.
EDIT: Now is possible to unlock bootloader.

Can you post the link, seems I can't find the official link.
EDIT: Ok, i made it. But we'll either gotta find some exploit or wait to be unlocked.
Did you tried adb reboot recovery, then navigate to enter the bootloader, then fastboot oem unlock ?

Yes, and it says that will take me to another screen 3s and ADB reported error 0x7000. I searched that error code, but found nothing.
Crap .

there is absolutely official way to unlock bootloader on this phone ( probably same way working on other HMD phones ) - so it is funny to hear from HMD "we enable bootloader unlock in future"

But where, i didn't find it so far?
usual fastboot oem unlock
the only problem - you need unlock key, which is unique to each phone.
well, if phone not modified

Ok when you flash the msm, it locks the bootloader so you gotta use the bin file that you got.to unlock the bootloader from fastboot then it will be greyed out.

Yes but you need to have your device sim unlocked first before you apply. You can get that through TMobile. Also check out the thread of the person helping with unlocking the sim.

Ok then you need to apply for the bin file.if you're unlocked. Check the earlier link for the 6t bootloader unlock.

Here is the link. You need to make sure you're sim unlocked meaning your phone for example can work with att or other networks.

i cant get the unlock code from fastboot. maybe there is a workaround like with the op7p where oneplus released a beta with an unlocked bootloader. i have the patched msm.exe from then but it wont load the .ops file.
is it possible that if i flash the eu or international .ops file it will allow me to unlock the bootloader?
Not that I know of yet. If you can't get the unlock code, most likely you're not sim unlocked.
Try tforce on Twitter or this

just spoke with tmobile and they said its not blocked and ready to be activated. also that without the tmobile unlock app i would have to test it with a new sim card. think it might be a problem if someone unlocked then factory reset before they sold it?
i read the post before making my own. i dont have the previous owners name or phone number.
also i looked up tforce on twitter but there's only 1 person with that @ and they dont seem like theyre active

I got the unlock code from fastboot, but when going to enter it on the OnePlus Site it says it is invalid because it is not a 64 digit unlock code. ????
I have an unlocked EU model IN2023 from Amazon UK and my OEM unlock button is greyed out. I'm so confused
I see this is an older thread, but I have the same problem with Nord CE; Oneplus support is not of any help (they just spam me with "we don't help with unlocking the bootloader, it's a security problem").
Anyone found a workaround?
I am trying to unlock the bootloader of my G7 Power but am unable to create an account here: https://accounts.motorola.com/ssoauth/login?TARGET=https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/cc/cas/sso/redirect/standalone%2Fbootloader%2Funlock-your-device-b
But I am not getting a verification email and logging in with google also doesn't work.
At first I thought I wouldn't need the motorola website to unlock the G7 power but as with all phones release in the last couple of years you have to get the unlock key from the company website. That means that if the website doesn't work or some time in the future goes down you wont be able to unlock the bootloader.
Has anyone reverse engineered the unlock algorithm? Is there any other way of getting a custom rom onto the device, maybe by rooting and then unlocking the bootloader somehow....
Could someone with an existing account give me the unlock key or is it bad giving a random person the keys from my device?

There is an alt method that skips the email.

Thank you so much, will try that and have high confidence that it will work. At least its easy to unlock, even if it still relies on the website.
@sd_shadow Sad to say but the link doesn't work. I get redirected to https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a . It seems that the api for https://support.motorola.com/us/en/api/mse/bootLoaderVerifyPhone cant be used without a valid motorola account session cookie or maybe they disabled that api function completely...
Could you send me the unlock code if I send you my bootloader data per PM or is that not a good idea to give that data to anyone?
