No unlocked bootloader :( - Nokia 3 Questions & Answers

Sorry guys, but unlocking bootloader through adb and fastboot didn't worked. It asked to unlock bootloader with yes (vol up) or no (vol down) and i pressed vol up, but it failed instantly and it let me to the screen with normal reboot, recovery and bootloader options (volume keys don't work for some reason on that screen so i pressed power and volume keys at the same time 10-15 sec to power off).
Without unlocked bootloader, we can't have root, custom recovery and custom ROMs.
That means that unofficial way doesn't work so we need to wait Nokia to give us codes (like in Huawei phones) or provide a official way of unlocking bootloader.
EDIT: Now is possible to unlock bootloader.

Juho sarvikas said that they will consider unlocking one of the phones from their catalogue. But it seems that first will go 5,6,8.. Do you have sdk and all drivers properly installed ? Also do you have some feedback after you enter adb devices ?

Did you tried adb reboot recovery, then navigate to enter the bootloader, then fastboot oem unlock ?

there is absolutely official way to unlock bootloader on this phone ( probably same way working on other HMD phones ) - so it is funny to hear from HMD "we enable bootloader unlock in future"

usual fastboot oem unlock
the only problem - you need unlock key, which is unique to each phone.

If you still have a bootloader, you should still be able to raise the unlock request code through adb.

But it does require OEM Unlocking be enabled in Developer Options first, or it won't work. I think that is OP's issue.

Without booting into ROM means via Fastboot (not ADB), and no, OEM Unlocking was specifically designed to not be done from the bootloader or by any means other than the "owner" allowing on a working system. Meaning it is designed so that it can't be done without proper permissions. So far no one has found a way to enable OEM Unlocking on a device that has it implemented, without booting into the ROM and doing it through the developer menu.
Seems foolish and against the spirit of asop.

No, actually it doesn't at all... AOSP is the open source android project, the core of Android, and like any good operating system it has security features to protect personal information and property. The features are not blocked or removed, they are clearly available with a few extra steps, under normal circumstances the situation the OP has cannot exist and they should be able to just send the phone in for repair because this is device failure.

"Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted"

So after unlocking bootloader correctly, i receive this message each time i boot.
"your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted", and then the device boots normally after.
I have now flashed TWRP via fastboot, booted into recovery, wiped, and flashed KangVIP Slim.
I still see that same message each time i reboot. Is it normal, and if so, is there a way to get rid of it?
We all had the same message after unlocking bootloader.... It is normal and can't be removed as far as I know...
If you relock the bootloader it disappears.
I get the same message. It goes to huawei erecovery though I have tried installing twrp through fastboot. I get a message saying "okay" but still goes to huawei recovery. Any idea?

eRecovery is there for a reason and will not be overwritten by TWRP. If you want to boot into TWRP (and you are certain that you flashed it successfully), your phone must be switched off altogether. Then press "vol up" and after that "power". Release the power switch after the screen comes on but keep the volume key pressed until TWRP appears.
That should do the trick (I hope )
either that or download flashify from the playstore and choose to reboot into recovery

You said earlier it came like this? Did you buy this phone and then you turned it on and this happened? It's very important you explain as best as you can so I can help you properly.
The phone was simlocked . Someone unlocked it (he unlocked the bootloader and then unlocked it with a box) . The phone was then sold to a customer who said that he wanted to update OTA . Then the phone became bricked .

If you try to unlock the bootloader with fastboot flashing unlock does it work or do you get an error? If you can't unlock the bootloader and flash the full factory image, you will likely have to try to get it replaced by Google.

No, basically everything you described was a terrible idea and it makes zero sense to intentionally lock the bootloader of a phone you just finished hooking up to a black box to forcibly modify software.
Never lock the bootloader of a modified device, that is just a given.

Has the original poster tried to unlock bootloader again? The pic in the OP shows fastboot. That looks potentially hopeful. Hope that OTA wasn't 7.1.2
Hopefully the seller was legit, maybe the phone is still under warranty??? Waiting sucks, but if it's under warranty you can fix it for free. Might be worth the wait. If not if that's not an option...
I'm guessing this is a Verizon phone? If so, start worrying, bit don't quit, unless you are prepared to spend more money on a new phone. As long as you have fastboot, you have options.

Huawei Mate 20X bootloader unlock procedure (must have a bootloader unlock code)

Once you have got your unlock code, Note it or take screenshot and save it somewhere.
How to unlock? All your data will be wiped during unlock.
1)Go to settings>about phone and tap 7 times on build number to enable developer options.
New devices require OEM unlock in developer options (Chinese models don’t have oem unlock)
2)Download Minimal ADB and Fastboot ,after installation, launch it by double clicking “MAF32.exe” inside C:/Program Files (x86)/Minimal ADB and Fastboot.
3)Enable USB debugging in developer options ( on some models you also need to enable oem unlock)
4)Connect your phone with PC & type “adb devices” your phone will ask for permission, check always allow from this pc & grant permission.
5)Then type following command
adb reboot-bootloader
6)if this command doesn’t work, then disconnect USB cable switch off phone , hold volume down button and connect with pc, your phone should enter fastboot mode.Let the window install drivers, then type
fastboot oem unlock xxxxxxxxxxxxx <----your unlock code here
7)(xxxxxx is your unlock code) and your phone will be unlocked (new models require you to select yes by using volume up button)

/QUOTE]
The real point is that I had to reset to get my OTA and face unlock working again after I adb removed a couple too many services.
Since I was resetting might as well unlock now vs later.
I would be happy if the voice (for Google assistant), telsa unread notifications, and the accessibility settings would stick and not revert intermittently to off or Chinese only services.

Huge difference between L29 and China version if you aren't Chinese. As explained in multiple threads, the China version has China specific stuff that you can not change possibly without root. L29 has everything people expect a Google phone to have but may lack root forever which limits being able to do custom things. Catch 22 paradox.

is it possible that if i flash the eu or international .ops file it will allow me to unlock the bootloader?
Not that I know of yet. If you can't get the unlock code, most likely you're not sim unlocked.
Try tforce on Twitter or this

just spoke with tmobile and they said its not blocked and ready to be activated. also that without the tmobile unlock app i would have to test it with a new sim card. think it might be a problem if someone unlocked then factory reset before they sold it?
i read the post before making my own. i dont have the previous owners name or phone number.
also i looked up tforce on twitter but there's only 1 person with that @ and they dont seem like theyre active

i cant get the unlock code from fastboot. maybe there is a workaround like with the op7p where oneplus released a beta with an unlocked bootloader. i have the patched msm.exe from then but it wont load the .ops file.

I got the unlock code from fastboot, but when going to enter it on the OnePlus Site it says it is invalid because it is not a 64 digit unlock code. ????
I have an unlocked EU model IN2023 from Amazon UK and my OEM unlock button is greyed out. I'm so confused
I see this is an older thread, but I have the same problem with Nord CE; Oneplus support is not of any help (they just spam me with "we don't help with unlocking the bootloader, it's a security problem").
Anyone found a workaround?
