ASUS Transformer Pad (TF103CG) K018 problem - General Questions and Answers

Hello
I have a problem with this ASUS Transformer Pad tablet (TF103CG)
basically I have the root and then I updated the firmware with this WW-TF103C-2.2.33.122-release-user-20141104-signed, all this to try to install a more recent version of android since I had to use an application that I could not install with android 4.4, but only after I realized that this firmware was not good for this tablet, now when I turn it on I get stuck on the INTEL Inside screen and there is no way to start it, you could help me thanks

Asus Transformer TF101 Update Problems..

Hi, I have an Asus transformer TF101, I used to have it rooted with CWM on android 3.2. So now that ICS was released for this tablet i wanted it. I knew i couldn't update with CWM.. So i read a tutorial on how to install a OS update from CWM then after, install something which would get rid of CWM. This would fine and i had the first 4.0.3 installed on my transformer successfully with no CWM (I tried getting into it to test but it wouldn't). Now it's been a bit of time, I've seen that asus have released a few new updates for my tablet. Now when i seach for updates on my tablet it says none are available.. So i thought I'd try and download from the website and put onto my SD card and hope that my tablet comes up with the little explanation mark to update.. But nothing. I tryed the recovery boot with the new OS on the SD card but just had the little green robot lay down looking broken. I'm not sure what to do now.. Should i re root it and then get CWM to update or is there something up with my tablet?
Thanks for reading.

TF101 Firmware Update .27 Corrupted

During the recent firmware update .27 on my Asus Transformer TF101 it appears that the video driver was corrupted. The tablet functions correctly as far as I can tell, however the screen is bright green with shadow tearing off all text & graphics.
Since there is no option to reinstall the same firmware update I can find on the Asus site I am suspecting it might be best to root the tablet and then try to reinstall the latest video driver versus installing the firmware again and risking bricking the tablet. Further it seem .24 is the latest firmware available on the Asus site in spite of the latest update.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. It's been almost 20 years (retired for past 9 years) since I sat daily in front of Linux machines, so I'd appreciate instructional help.
Just now turned the tablet on and a new problem - it is in a bootloop...

New firmware is now on Asus US site.
Here's the high level overview- you don't need working firmware, but you do need the stock recovery. If you have a custom recovery (CWM/Roach/Rouge/etc) the just flash a new rom.
You can download the firmware for your country on the asus website. You'll have to unzip it, and there will be another zip file. Copy the 2nd zip file to the root of your SD card and rename it to EP101_SDUPDATE.zip. Reboot into recovery and the stock recovery should recognize it and flash it. Be sure to charge your TF completely to avoid a bad flash. delete the zip file or rename it or else it will try to flash every time you boot into recovery.
link for asus downloads (choice android, and scroll) http://usa.asus.com/Tablet/Transformer_Pad/Eee_Pad_Transformer_TF101/#download
from the linux command line:
Code:
unzip US_epaduser9_2_1_27UpdateLauncher.zip
cp US_epaduser9_2_1_27UpdateLauncher.zip /media/<your_microSD>/EP101_SDUPDATE.zip
umount /media/<your_microSD>
put the microSD in your TF and hold volume down while booting. Some white text will appear, then press volume up within 5 seconds. The stock recovery will do the rest.

[Q] Asus tf700t problem.

Hi all.
Got a Asus Infinity tf700t tablet yesterday. Today I rooted it using this tut on youtube called How to Root the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T using Everything went fine and superuser installed. So I downloaded root checker and yes its rooted. Later today I got the popup for firmware update to JB so did it not even thinking about the root. update went fine it restarted and I have Jelly Bean. So I look in root checker and say not rooted. doh. So I Google rooting JB and no luck in a way. I don't want to unlock the tablet so that way is out. Then find out I should have installed and used Root OTA Keeper before installing update.
So then looked up how to downgrade to ICS from JB. I downloaded the firmware from Asus for ICS. Unzipped the 1st zip and copied the zip file to my SD card. Put SD card into tablet. Power + volume down and menu pops up then press volume up and it goes to a android loading screen for 2 seconds then a dead android screen with red triangle !.
From the Asus site I got firmmware Version V9.4.5.30 Eee Pad Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T Firmware: V9.4.5.30 Only for WW SKU
Now what? Any idea's?
About tablet:
Android version
4.1.1
Kernel Version:
3.1.10
[email protected]))
#1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Oct 12 11:51:10 CST 2012
Build version:
JRO03C.WW_epad-10.4.4.18-20121012
Any help would be mint as Im stuck with is.

Only way i know of is click this way
But then you would have to unlock
I didn't rename the zip file. its called: WW_epad-user-9.4.5.30 and is the only thing on the SD card. I used a usb to SD card adapter to copy the file over.
Yeh I seen that page.
So I have tried another thing removed SD card and put just the ICS firmware of asus page on it. tablet is on and jelly bean running i put SD card in and couple of seconds later a popup comes up to do a update / downgrade. So I run it and restarts and now running ICS again. Seen that the firmware update popup so not clicking it.
Time to try reroot ICS and use Root OTA Keeper then update to JB.
There is a way to downgrade without unlocking the bootloader..

Just follow the guide above, worked fine for me and I was having the same problem (dead android)
Yeh all good now. running rooted Jelly bean.

[Q] TF700T Infinity - Is Jelly Bean 4.1 available yet

All, I detected 4.1 on my TF700 the other day, it installed and failed. So.. it reverted back to 4.0.3. Now it won't detect it again. I've done a factory reset and it still won't detect it.
I called Asus and they claim that it's not available for the tablet yet, but they couldn't explain why it detected it in the first place.
So does anyone have JB running on their TF700 yet?

[Q] [noob] Help me install cleanrom

Hey guys, first post here. A little backstory: I got a tf300t through work and really have not liked it, pretty much only used it for the kindle app. It was/is suuuuperrrr slow. Even as I type this on balanced mode on a single tab with just pandora in the background there is noticeable lag after my keystrokes. Anyways I started perusing the thread on cromi-x and it really (combined with data2sd) seemed to bring this guy to life. So I decided to go all in, I purchased the keyboard dock which arrived today and rocks, a nice sandisk class 10 microsd, and a legit mount for my car.
My intended uses will be media playback (audio and youtube) web browsing, car gps (toying with navfree now, pretty sweet) and as near to pc replacement as I can get this to be, but Id prefer to do less at a faster rate than bog this thing down to a slow speed if it can't handle it (as it seems to be now)
So with that said I perused the cromi-x thread for hours and still have a few questions.
1) I am currently on 4.2.1 and 10.6.1.15.3 but I have ran the official asus bootloader unlock and my device shows unlocked in the top left upon boot. Am I ready to install cromi-x or will it not work with the unlocked bootloader, and if so is the TWRP flash to 4.2.1 going to set me up where I need to be?
2) The data2sd mod seems essential, this is a kernel mod though right? So it would need to be done before the cromi-x flash? Or is it just an app? And if so can it work retroactively (i.e I install some stuff and then install data2sd and it will move everything possible to the sd card that was already installed)
3) Especially now that I have the keyboard Im trying to make as pure a pc browsing experience as possible, and found a script that forces chrome to load desktop sites instead of having to ask each time, but it requires a root, installing cromi-x will root the device right?
4) In regard to my pc experience is there a browser you guys would recommend over chrome? Not having flash is frustrating, and if there is a better browser for flash and desktop experience I'd love to hear it.
5) Is there another "essential" mod that I am missing, Id like this thing to run quickly for my intended uses without sacrificing (hopefully gaining a bit with cromi-x) battery life?
6) Is there a keyboard you guys recommend that works well with the dock? the asus keyboard lacks some customization that I imagine must be out there. I'd like to be able to turn off the click pad sending me to a menu or back with middle and right click respectively.
I think that's all for now, Im sure Ill have loads more questions soon though when I brick this thing trying to flash
Thanks,
Chris
I think you need to downgrade for cleanrom, have you checked out cromi-x?
I thought my tablet was sluggish aswell: the first day i had it i flashed cromi-x + hundsbuah kernel and it brought my tablet to life
To install cleanrom i think you have to downgrade and this is NOT reccomended because you could easily brick your tab!

right you are, it is cromi-x I wanted to install, I have been calling it the wrong name. Updated the body of the OP, cant mess with the subject. so that brings back my original questions about the install
1: you are ready to flash cromi x BUT you need to flash the twrp with -4.2 at the end
2: don't know
3: yes cromi roots your tab

do you mean I need to flash my twrp to a different version, and if so where would I find that version? Also, hunds seems to be the recommend kernel for cromi-x, do I need to flash the kernel before the cromi-x flash?
thanks man
You should have twrp 2.5.0.0-4.2.blob if you have android 4.2.1 and have a booting twrp i assume it's the correct one!
it doesn't really matter when you flash hunds kernel because it's also compatible with stock!
