So, I tried installing Android 9 firmware on my Samsung Galaxy J7 Core SM-J701F used Odin to install it.
Primarily I used TWRP, to delete/wipe the OS completely from the phone, then using Odin I installed Android 9. Upon booting I completed the first time setup. As soon as I reached the home screen, it got locked with this message: Phone Locked: this phone can't be used without authorization (0001).
In the Download mode it says:
Product name: SM-J701F
Current binary: Samsung Official
KG State: Locked
FRP LOCK: OFF
OEM LOCK: OFF
WARRANTY VOID: 1 (0x030c)
At the bottom, while installing any other firmware (Pie or Nougat), it says: All binaries are not allowed to be flashed due to KG locked (BOOTLOADER)
Any solution?

It can't boot in Recovery Mode, only Download mode.

Ive been trying to deal with this issue as well, you are lucky, I have the sm g930P and sprint just updated the Fused to B7 and I didnt know that. Mine is stuck in a recovery Loop and I dont have a recovery installed, it is the qualcomm model so i havent had any lucky flashing induvidual files. My bootloader is locked and every time I try to flash the BL file it Gives me A secure Rev Check Fail.
For You though all you need to do is find the Right Firmware for your Friends Phone. You may also be using the wrong version of Odin. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Device means it's security level, so when its 2 you can't install a binary 1 package. Download the firmware with (AP_G930FXXU 3 = binary 3. Odin does not accept the device to flash a older firmware for security reasons. So I will leave a link for a firmware with binary 3 so it wont be any problems. Hope it helps (Sorry for bad English but im just a 14 years old kid from Sweden.) Btw just tell me if you need a specific CSC and I can change the link

I've got a SM-J500FN running 6.0.1 Marshmallow
Password is lost so it is in a screen lock mode. It has all the original firmwares. Not that I can't get access to it I can't go to developer mode and can not set OEM unlock.
The phone goes to Download mode and Recovery mode OK.
Tried Odin + CF-Auto Root. The process gives me Auth FAIL!

if u want to make it stock u just do factory reset u can navigate with up/down volume

I’ve done too much times of factory resets (recovery mode) and Downloads of the full Android 11 based firmware (see SamMobile) onto the device (by Heimdall), but still unfortunately my device is still under boot loops, w/o KNOX disabled or even removed, or vm-verity disabled before. But now i no longer have access to the ROM at all, hence unable to authorize ADB for disabling dm-verity or removing KNOX.
And finally nothing more could also be done using recovery or Download mode, what to do next?

My device is Samsung A125F, and when flashing an empty vbmeta by @edward0181 with both Heimdall and Odin (preparing to flash TWRP also by this guy), the Downloader doesn’t allow flashing unofficial bins on boot due to Knox-KG status of prenormal, and flashing stock packages doesn’t reset Knox-KG to normal
And moreover, Knox apps can’t be inhibited or disabled at all on stock ROM, and suppose Odin flashables in order to be inhibited and disabled, and i researched much for by myself but up to now no luck getting expected results

There are a couple of tools that can help you complete the kg status then write unofficial files.

Need to unlock bootloader first. In Download mode, does it have said option to unlock bootloader?
