OnePlus 7 Pro 5G (Bootloop to Bricked) - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

So last night I had a fully working stock ROM (Android 10) rooted with TWRP installed and Magisk all working fine... this morning I have a bricked phone which even when putting it into Qualcomm Download Mode is giving me the "This device has malfunctioned error" so I'm going to stop what I'm doing and seek some advice from you wonderful folks
It all went wrong when I updated some modules on Magisk, that put me in a bootloop. From there I went into TWRP and flashed a backup of my boot.img (of course this was a stock boot.img so that was wrong), this then sent me into a Fastboot Bootloop. I tried the instructions on https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/rom-stock-fastboot-roms-oneplus-7-pro-t3931424 to flash a stock rom via fastboot but that didn't do anything and it continually kept booting into Fastboot. I even tried doing this manually using the instructions. I also tried going into recovery mode here but again no success.
Doing some more reading I came across the MSM Tool https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/msm-tool-guac-t3934691 which I downloaded, followed the instructions and all started to go well until I got an error telling me the image didn't match? I left it a while but nothing happened so disconnected the phone and now it won't go back into Qualcomm Download Mode.
The phone will now not turn on, or boot into anything. When I plug it in it says "USB Device Not Recognised"
Anybody have any ideas on what I can do?

[Q] BOOTLOOP/ (maybe?) hard brick issue

Phone specs:
Samsung Galaxy S3 Verizon SCH-i535
It was already running KitKat 4.4.2 before I rooted
This is my first time rooting and flashing ROMs to my Samsung Galaxy s3 and I have bricked it. I'm pretty sure it can be salvaged but have yet to find anything that works.
I have written the long version for those who need it, but the short version is that I screwed up and can no longer boot into recovery mode or normal mode, I'm not even sure if Download mode is working, and my device isn't recognized by Kies or Odin on my PC so I cannot yet do a recovery from there.
As of now my phone only boots into Odin Mode (NO recovery, NO normal boot, device NOT recognized by computer programs like Kies and Odin) and gives the following info:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SCH-I535
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
SYSTEM STATUS: OFFICIAL
QUALCOM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
BOOTLOADER AP SWREV: 2
and displays the yellow triangle error and says: Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please use Software repair Assistant & try again.
I tried to use Samsung Kies which has an emergency firmware tool but my device will not connect and become recognized by the program.
This is pretty much where I'm stuck.
Keep reading if you need additional info.
Steps leading up to problem:
I was able to Root the device succesfully
I then downloaded the latest CM11 package (cm-11-20140217-NIGHTLY-d2vzw.zip) and Gapps
I also downloaded the TWRP recovery img (openrecovery-twrp-2.7.1.0-d2vzw.img)
Once I had these downloaded I got the app [ROOT] Rashr - Flash Tool
I opened the app and tried to do a backup but I'm pretty sure it failed, or at least it said it failed. I couldn't find out how to check, but was not worried since I have already backed up my important files to the verizon cloud.
On the app I went to recover using other file and found the TWRP recovery img I downloaded.
From here I booted into recovery manually, but it did not bring up the TEAMWIN screen for TWRP like I've seen in other video tutorials so I rebooted into normal mode went to the Rashr app again and followed the prompt to do a Recovery boot using the TWRP img.
THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEMS BEGAN:
It began to lead into recovery mode but it gave a message that said something along the lines that I have tried installing a custom OS and to take my phone to the nearest verizon store.
I turned it off and tried to boot back normally but got the same error.
I tried to boot into Download mode and was successful! So I thought yaay!
Read a tutorial to reload a stock version of android here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2586319
I followed all the steps but when i got to 7. which said You should see your phone under ID:COM (you should also see it has been added in message) I was not seeing my phone there. I figured it may be OK since I was able to install the drivers so that meant the USB was working so I went ahead and ran Odin to recover Jelly Bean 4.3 onto the device.
My thoughts and guesses as to what the problem is:
I think that it may be because I was already running 4.4.2 and/ or didn't have the proper bootloader when I tried to do the TWRP recovery.
Am I on the right track? Thanks for any help!
You're not bricked if you can still get into Download mode. First of all the Verizon S3 on 4.3 or later has a locked bootloader - you can't install a custom recovery, and only TouchWiz based ROMs are supported using Safestrap. In order to get back up and running you need to see this thread and use the Verizon Utility, or use the Odin method with a stock 4.4.2 ROM seeing as you're on 4.4.2. However I'm surprised your computer doesn't recognize your phone, that almost sounds like more of a drivers issue than anything if your phone still gets into Odin mode. As cliche as it sounds - have you tried rebooting? It may help with a driver issue.

OnePlus One fastboot not working

Hello,
I apologise for any mistakes as this is my first time posting here.
I recently changed the screen on my brothers OnePlus One. The installation went really smoothly and the phone displayed on startup.:good:
But for some reason now when ever it it starts up you get a 1+ logo and then it has the android man with the red triangle. It then puts you into recovery . My brother has never tried custom roms on his opo, so he has the stock recovery. I try to install some zips using the ADB sideload method but it gets about 80% done and then says that the signature verification failed even on roms downloaded from the official site. I think the phone would work if I could get TWRP installed and install the rom through there, but I can't get into fastboot mode. My brother has never been in fastboot so I don't know if you had to enable it in the OS first or something like that. If I press reboot bootloader in advance settings in the recovery it just restarts the phone back into recovery. I am not sure whether to try some type of brick fix method however it isn't hard bricked because it turns on and in soft bricked you have to use fastboot for every method that I've seen.
Any help would be brilliant.
Thanks!

OnePlus 6 stuck at the Qualcomm CrashDump Mode

Hello,
So here is my problem.
My phone is stuck on this mode and I can't do anything. When I reboot it keeps showing the crashdump mode.
What I've done is that I unlocked the bootloader and did "fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3.0-enchilada.img", it showed the crashdump, so I tried "fastboot flash boot ..." instead.
Now it's stuck and I don't know how to solve my problem.
Please I need some help here, don't know how to get my phone working.
EDIT: I've managed to get rid out of this but my phone is in the booting screen (the red dot with the 2 whites) forever. I can access to the Fastboot, what should I do ?
Try looking for the unbrick tool/guid in the forums. That should fix it.
I managed to get my phone work again.
The problem was I flashed a non-boot image.
So in the CrashDump Mode, press (while phone not plugged) Volume Up + Power to go to Fastboot.
Boot a working TWRP, install official OTA and now everything is fine. Looks like the normal TWRP doesn't work on oxygen so I installed the blu spark one.

You just need to check latest version, before you do something to your firmware.
I have the same problem. OEM unlocking is not turned on on my device. I have used several versions of oos using MSM tool but no luck.

Phone shows a blank screen

Hello
Having some issues with my phone
I was using a custom rom beforehand and decided to flash the official stock rom because of a mobile app game that wouldn't boot on the phone. Doing that got rid of twrp and opened the stock recovery. Whenever I tried to reboot the phone it would keep taking me to the stock recovery. From there I decided to do a wipe but it continued to take me to the stock recovery. Not sure what to do I fast booted a .img file I used for the previous custom rom I was using and that booted the phone to a point where it had official stock and was rooted but the game still didn't work. So when I rebooted into recovery mode the twrp recovery appeared but when I checked my files everything was gone. Whenever I tried to reboot the phone it would just continue to take me into twrp recovery. Also I couldn't move files while it was in twrp. So I decided to format everything and that fixed my issue of booting. Now the phone booted as normal even tho I had to go through the intro again. I downloaded the game and huzzah it worked just fine. I booted into recovery mode to make sure it would boot fine from recovery to the phone and it did, but whenever I told twrp to reboot it would say there is no os installed but it would boot fine. Next I decided to get magisk back and running. So I got the manager and download the .zip and booted twrp and flashed it. When I rebooted my phone I just get a blank screen. Nothing happens when I press anything and pressing power + vol up restarts the phone but it goes back into a blank screen.
Help?

OK here is some quick help: https://piunikaweb.com/2019/05/29/how-to-unbrick-oneplus-7-pro-using-msm-download-tool/
I've tried this but it doesn't work. Whenever I boot the program nothing shows up. I checked my ports and I have Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM8) which doesn't match the guide and I have no idea how to change the port.

The COM number actually doesn't matter, it will vary from pc to pc so yes it will work, nothing will show up on the phone screen its self, once u see HS-USB QDLoader 9008 open the msm tool and u will see it connect and start.
What custom ROM?
What game?
Which TWRP?
Which boot.img?
What firmware?
What everything?
How on earth can you expect anyone to help you when you decide to cloak your whole setup in mystery?
I fixed the issue. I didn't know about the button combo to boot into fastboot so when I did boot into fastboot I fastbooted into twrp and fixed everything from there

Urgent help Stuck on Fastboot mode cannot restart or recover or see on PC

Hi
Was having trouble with phone and then did a restore back to saved version
However now the phone is stuck on Fast boot mode It gives the options to start in below
Bootloader
Recovery Mode
Power Off
START
However whatever I choose it keeps going into FastBoot mode with menu below
Product name
Variant
Bootloader version
Baseband Version
Serial Number
Secure Boot - Yes
Device State unlocked
I have tried power off an then press power and volume up and down and keeps booting into fastboot mode
I have connected it to PC and PC not picking it up
Tried rebooting with power cable plugged in and same issue stuck in fastboot
Has anyone got any solutions otherwise I have to send it to OP7 for repair
I guess if you can boot twrp and flash Magisk it will boot.
Or use msmtool to restore your phone to oos9 or oos10 formating data and erase your stuff
I don't know how you restored your phone into a "stable" version maybe you used the twrp for Android 11?
You need to provide more information about the state of your phone

Thats the problem I cannot boot to anything except Fastboot. Gives option to boot to recovery but when I select it boots back into Fastboot
I was on Android 10 and having issues with phone connected to PC not picking it up etc and cables, drivers etc was working ok as have OP5 and could pick up that
Tried everything and nothing worked and also was not getting push notifications so could not purchase online
So last resort was to revert back to back up over 1 month old. Did that and for what ever reason phone booted back to fastboot and PC still wont pick it up so cannot even connect via adb
I restored it using TWRP and now everything I try just not working and looking at sending it back to OP to get it to factory reset as I cannot even do that

That backup was from an older version of OOS?
In this point if you can't boot twrp the only safe way is using msmtool

Android 10 but which version? It's not recommended to downgrade.
In msmtool are the instructions, download the correct msmtool for your device.
Not sure what version think it was the last one ???
Have msm tool and installed cert but now getting Package image not exist when I run the MSM download tool?
What was the file size of the MSM tool. Does it have the .ops file included over 2gb

Now hopefully they can fix it but think I will leave it as is with Android 11 until possible TWRP and new roms come on board for Android 11 dont want to feck it up more
Thanks for the help
