[Q] BOOTLOOP/ (maybe?) hard brick issue - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Phone specs:
Samsung Galaxy S3 Verizon SCH-i535
It was already running KitKat 4.4.2 before I rooted
This is my first time rooting and flashing ROMs to my Samsung Galaxy s3 and I have bricked it. I'm pretty sure it can be salvaged but have yet to find anything that works.
I have written the long version for those who need it, but the short version is that I screwed up and can no longer boot into recovery mode or normal mode, I'm not even sure if Download mode is working, and my device isn't recognized by Kies or Odin on my PC so I cannot yet do a recovery from there.
As of now my phone only boots into Odin Mode (NO recovery, NO normal boot, device NOT recognized by computer programs like Kies and Odin) and gives the following info:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SCH-I535
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
SYSTEM STATUS: OFFICIAL
QUALCOM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
BOOTLOADER AP SWREV: 2
and displays the yellow triangle error and says: Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please use Software repair Assistant & try again.
I tried to use Samsung Kies which has an emergency firmware tool but my device will not connect and become recognized by the program.
This is pretty much where I'm stuck.
Keep reading if you need additional info.
Steps leading up to problem:
I was able to Root the device succesfully
I then downloaded the latest CM11 package (cm-11-20140217-NIGHTLY-d2vzw.zip) and Gapps
I also downloaded the TWRP recovery img (openrecovery-twrp-2.7.1.0-d2vzw.img)
Once I had these downloaded I got the app [ROOT] Rashr - Flash Tool
I opened the app and tried to do a backup but I'm pretty sure it failed, or at least it said it failed. I couldn't find out how to check, but was not worried since I have already backed up my important files to the verizon cloud.
On the app I went to recover using other file and found the TWRP recovery img I downloaded.
From here I booted into recovery manually, but it did not bring up the TEAMWIN screen for TWRP like I've seen in other video tutorials so I rebooted into normal mode went to the Rashr app again and followed the prompt to do a Recovery boot using the TWRP img.
THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEMS BEGAN:
It began to lead into recovery mode but it gave a message that said something along the lines that I have tried installing a custom OS and to take my phone to the nearest verizon store.
I turned it off and tried to boot back normally but got the same error.
I tried to boot into Download mode and was successful! So I thought yaay!
Read a tutorial to reload a stock version of android here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2586319
I followed all the steps but when i got to 7. which said You should see your phone under ID:COM (you should also see it has been added in message) I was not seeing my phone there. I figured it may be OK since I was able to install the drivers so that meant the USB was working so I went ahead and ran Odin to recover Jelly Bean 4.3 onto the device.
My thoughts and guesses as to what the problem is:
I think that it may be because I was already running 4.4.2 and/ or didn't have the proper bootloader when I tried to do the TWRP recovery.
Am I on the right track? Thanks for any help!

You're not bricked if you can still get into Download mode. First of all the Verizon S3 on 4.3 or later has a locked bootloader - you can't install a custom recovery, and only TouchWiz based ROMs are supported using Safestrap. In order to get back up and running you need to see this thread and use the Verizon Utility, or use the Odin method with a stock 4.4.2 ROM seeing as you're on 4.4.2. However I'm surprised your computer doesn't recognize your phone, that almost sounds like more of a drivers issue than anything if your phone still gets into Odin mode. As cliche as it sounds - have you tried rebooting? It may help with a driver issue.

Non-booting Tablet

Okay. I work for a school district and we have deployed tablets to our students for use. I have one -5113 that boots only to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 logo and then goes blank. No animated swirl Samsung logo. Trying to boot into recovery doesn't do anything but go to a black screen. The only thing that I can boot into is download mode. First I tried to flash a stock version of the ROM to the device, but it still operates the same. Then I tried to flash custom recoveries to no avail. The flashable version of Clockworkmod I found boots to the hat and gear logo screen, but then freezes there and eventually the tablet restarts. TWRP will install and I can boot into it, but can't do anything because it wants a passcode that has never been set. I have also tried CF-auto root to install a new ROM, but that was unsuccessful too. I was hoping someone could see the error of my ways so I can get this up and running. Thanks in advance.
According to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2090104
you can try this:
Ok, I was able to fix this. Here is how in case this happens to someone else.
1. Uninstalled Kies
2. Reboot PC
3. Plug in tab and wait for drivers to load
4. Start Odin (I found the DL link in the dev area)
5. download the firmware that you want to load - I had JB
6. extract the md5 file
follow Odin instructions to flash a file, this worked without being in Download Mode.

I have been able to flash through Odin. That works great, but it doesn't change how the device is working.
Suuuuuuuuuper bummed, I was running with not 1 issue, custom rom/kernel/recovery was working perfect.. well for some reason, tab crashed, wouldn't boot back up, went into recovery, tried to clear dalvik cache and tab rebooted, tried again , same thing, well, I went to just restore nandroid and didn't work. I rebooted into download mode tried to Odin stock back, Odin hung. So I opened up kies and I went to reboot download mode for a "fresh start" and when I booted back up, brick.. no recovery, no download mode.. I'm irritated ... :/ down to only old EpicTouch and my S4.. was cool for a bit to have a tab to play with too.. oh well.. I get tab3 later.. :/

[Q] Trying to restore to stock, stuck in bootloop when trying to enter recovery mode

Hey guys. I just got a Galaxy Note 10.1 WiFi for Christmas (GT-n8013). I downloaded Cyanogenmod 10.2 on it to play around, but decided I wanted to go back to stock. However, something has gone horribly wrong. I flashed the stock ROM via ODIN and that seemed to work, but my device then went into a bootloop. I get the Samsung boot logo, and then an Android with a spinning blue object in his chest with a download bar. The download bar hangs at about 1/5 of the way, and then the device resets. I am unable to post images due to new user rules.
That download bar does not move past that point. It hangs there for a minute or so and then reboots, shows the "Samsung Note 10.1" boot logo, goes to this download again, then freezes and reboots. I am able to get into download mode, which shows that my device is on stock firmware, but the custom binary count remains at 1 (which I've read is due to installing ClockworkRecoveryMod?).
I am unable to boot into recovery mode. I get the aforementioned bootloop. I've attempted to flash the stock recovery with ODIN, and though it says it's successful, I continue to get a bootloop. My computer is also unable to recognize the USB device when bootlooping, even though ODIN says I have the correct drivers installed.
Sorry I can't link directly to the images, the forums won't let me. I'm definitely in way over my head here and would really appreciate some help. Thank you!
I have the same peoblem
the answer i got was to download the firmware form sammobile ( GT-N8013 )
then flash it with odin. Right know i am downloading the file (the size is very large)
If you have GT-N8013 then you can get the firmware form this link terafile.co/3f6559556907/N8013UEUCMA3_N8013XARCMA3_XAR.zip
I am new to this so i hope you can help flash this file on my tablet because we both the have kind of the same problem.

I am currently attempting this and will report back with my results.
EDIT: It worked!!!! The firmware flash didn't immediately fix the bootloop, but it allowed me to enter recovery mode. From there, I did a data wipe/factory reset from the recovery menu, restarted, and it's working!

[Q] Cant flash and overwrite with stock rom on M919

I need help
I have a Tmobile Galaxy s4 M919.
After the 4.3 update, i am not able to completely flash a stock rom in order to have my phone working again.
Tried root, tried CWM ot TWRP, Odin stock, Kies, but every attempt got stuck for ever on the boot logo screen with blue letters on the left hand up corner saying recovery booting.
I can't access download mode but not recovery.
Only onceworked, and i could flash thru KIES and the download screen after that shown:
System Official Samsung
Binary Official.
After that i start to have an issue with SIMCARD non detected, and had to restart and never worked again.
Seems like Knox is dealing with custom rom or bootloader and keeps on bootlogo screen.
Any help will n]be very appreciated.

Best thing to do is use odin on your pc and get the stock rom from samsung or another source, then completly flash it so it will wipe out you phone completly and then reinstall stock. This happened to my m919. If you need more help on how to completly replace the stock rom using odin there are plenty of videos that show you step by step. You just soft bricked your phone so it's fixable.

I have flashed several times via odin and kies, but everytime i still with Binary Official and System Custom.
Seems like the flash does not overwrite the kies bootloader, thats why i am stuck on boot revovery.
Once it worked, the system and binary became official, then i flashed knox free stock rom via recovery.
As i told, i can acces download but not recovery.
Does anyone know any knox free stock rom flashable via odin???

Old GT-P3113 tablet won't boot. How to back up data from it for new tablet?

Hello, first post on XDA forums.
In one sentence, my goal is to back up data from a tablet that doesn't boot beyond the Samsung logo.
Details:
- tablet: Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0", model GT-P3113
- problem: when you turn it on, it boots to the point of showing the Samsung logo and is stuck on it
For the past 2 days now, I've been trying to figure out how to back up data from this tablet so that it can be put on a new tablet.
During these 2 days, I educated myself on Android and especially how to use Odin to install new firmware and I've been reading about TWRP. I learned about recovery mode and download mode.
I was able to use Odin to load a ROM image for version 4.2.2 and according to Odin the process went through without issues. However, that didn't fix the boot problem, it's still the same.
I even wiped the cache partition in recovery mode but still the same problem.
I was very hopeful today that I would be able to use ADB with the "pull" command to save the data to a computer. Unfortunately, after installing ADB on my laptop running Ubuntu, it doesn't see any devices connected. My understanding is that with Linux there is no need to install a driver unlike on a Windows PC.
Current situation as I type this message:
- stock tablet, not rooted, default recovery system on it (Android system recovery <3e>)
- tablet in recovery mode
- tablet connected to computer via USB cable
- ADB installed on Linux computer
- the command "adb devices" returns no devices found
Question to you guys: if the tablet is in recovery mode, shouldn't ADB see it on the Linux-based computer?
Please advise.
Thank you in advance for your help. :fingers-crossed:

It seems u got stuck in the bootloop, try to wipe data/cache/dalvik ur device and I think it would solve ur problem
root the tab, install custom recovery twrp and a nice marshmallow custom rom. then you have a new device.
why backup data from a non booting system?? for me it makes no sense.

considering you never rooted,
and you were on stock 4.0.4 or 4.2.2?
whichever version you were on, you're supposed to use the same firmware build which you were using before.
different firmware flashed on another Build's data results in bootloops as well.
solution: you should flash a custom recovery first instead of a firmware. that will not erase the data.
then you switch to recovery, make a backup of the data partition.
save it on your ext card.
wipe your system,data, factory reset.
flash the official firmware you were using before.
let it boot.
flash custom recovery again.
restore data and check.
if it still goes into a bootloop,
try entering safe mode.
you can get an app that can restore selective data from nandroid backup. (forgot the name but it was on play store) or you can extract from the backup the data you need.
there is a detailed guide link just below here in my signature. you can give it a read, when you feel like stuck somewhere.

how to findout my phones android, baseband versions while it wont boot into android os

I have galaxy S4 SGH-M919 TMobile that wont boot into the Android OS. i miss the details needed to download the exact file to flash the phone via Odin. I searched for a while if there are some programs that will detect my phone in either download or recovery mode with no luck and finally i downloaded randomly the file " SGH-M919-TMB-M919UVUAMDL-1366964131.zip " , and followed the procedure to flash it via Odin. but that fails and now it wont boot to recovery, it asks to do it via Kies.
download mode is still working. i restrained to take extra action that may result in hard brick unless i ask for help.
Could someone tell me what i have to do please
thanks
