Slow or No development? - Xiaomi Poco X2 Questions & Answers

Hi,
So i remember last time when k20 was launched the development was like rocket, even though its has bootloader lock/hard brick issues.
With k30 nothing is happening not even close to k20, like no development is gonna happen am seriously geeting Asus Zenfone 6z vibes now.
But i still hope its gonna be start moving anytime soon:fingers-crossed:, if this month goes dry, i think i am gonna have no choice than selling this device.

Hope this worth it.

I think we should see a lot of things moving in after 72 hours, because that is when most of the guys will be able to unlock their bootloaders. We have 15 devs or more who got these devices so we should see a lot of development once bootloader is unlocked.

This thread makes no sense. There was a bootloader unlocking issue which has caused the delays. Also POCO has sent the devices to developers which is a great initiative to begin development on this device. If you wanna sell the device go ahead and stop ranting as it creates a negative impression in the forum.

Boootloader locked issues, and yet there is only one thread and i don't even faced it. No body did on eu community as well.
Asus sent devices to developers as well, i can see how much development is there with one lineage os and one kernel.
This thread is not rant, you are who consider a concern as rant. Non polite shills like you make xda look bad, no wonder people are moving to telegram.
I don't need your advice upon weather i should sell my device or not.
Next time just scroll past.

Wow, why do you have to be so rude/aggressive, man?
Anyway, the phone is not even up for sale in many European countries including mine, so no wonder there is a lack of development for it...

You do realise this is the POCO X2 forum and not the K30 forum? Despite being the same devices POCO X2 got the bootloader unlock at a later time. And all I repeat all of the users have faced the issue including the developers.
POCO has the history which Asus didn't. POCO F1 was a sucessful device. The K20 had a single forum hence so much development. Since the same device has been divided into two this causes problems.
And please read your own post, you are the one who's saying where are the ROMs without even knowing the reason. Saying i'm going to sell the device sounds like a threat more than a concern.

Asus 5z has a history too, what happens at the time of 6z, Poco f1 is different category ask the company ceo,
Poco x2 fourm not k30? Yet i have bought this phone from flipkart India, and able to unlcok bootloader, install twrp from chinese dev and now using MIUI EU 11, you don't even know what are you talking about.
I never said where i
are ROMs, by slow development i meant no beta/alpha twrp or no gsi.
How come me going to sell my device become threat to you, are you poco? Are you xiaomi? Did i bought device from you?
Me selling or keeping my device is non-of your concern. I just showed my concerns and opinion of device not worth it without any development signs.

iirc the Redmi Note 8 Pro was also given to devs for development however with no success. I can understand his concern.
It's too early to access development as ir4hul says though..
I wish people would just wait a couple of weeks and have a look at development progress before commiting to purchasing a device if Custom Rom is such a priority.
I sincerely hope the POCO X2 experiences the community love the F1 saw.

Give it time bro. Bootloader unlock was just recently achieved, also developers have their own work to do ?. I'm sure it will be amazing development community within 2 months, just like poco f1

Redmi Note 8 Pro was a different story I guess because of the MTK chipset. The devices were getting bricked easily and it became very difficult for developers to test.
But yea. I agree that it is too early to judge development of Poco X2.

check here: its already started

a working recovery has already been done, hope people from both forums collaborate together soon...
a unofficial LineageOS 17.1 port is already in ALPHA stage, hope we can boot it on poco x2 with very less effort

[Discussion] The worst support in the worst community

This is absolute state about xiaomi mi a1. not only the company itself does everything to ruin this phone, but the community is the most cancerous one i've ever seen, and trust me i have seen a lot of communities. full of analphabetes spreading fake/false information, or repeating one thing over and over like a parrots... this is joke.. if i were a developer (like Franco) i'd feel insulted being a part of this circus, and drop this community and device..
I wouldn't care if xiaomi provided reliable software, but official roms are like the community - pathetic. i hope i will be able to install some good custom rom (i didnt do this in ages, but mi a1 software is complete utter ****).
one big joke, joke of the android one. well i got tricked, shame on me.
Well I think that you don't have taken a look of Moto G4's community. The sources were out and there was some development, but the people made it hard to read in the threads. I don't blame the phone, both Moto G4 and Mi A1, but the people that doesn't read anything and want everything in their hands, either way I find this device and community better than the Moto G4's community. I don't know what's the problem with your device but I am plenty satisfied with the Mi A1 for the price that have.
Greetings

Well i dont have experience on xda, im noob and newbie!
Anyway i think the community in a forum must always guided by the moderators who enforce the forum rules.
Bad topic/post must be deleted from the mods.
Very few community are able to auto-moderate themselves.
About the phone, yes xyaomi dont do a very good job, but if you take in consideration the devices price, androidone and so one, i cannot complain too much about.
atm i dont have root, and using just naptime x from francisco franco + optimizations left and right... i have a lot of juce from the battery and the phone, for his cost, run pretty good.

definetly not most cancerous(as you said) forum in XDA.
your just focus in this mi a1 forum cos you have that device.
back in my htc desire series(hd/x/sensation) and moto(x victara/2015) same people always complain and dont get satisfied on their phone. i still have some of my phone but the forum is dead/stopped devolpment cos its an old phones.
the problem is mods dont care unless someone report a thread. i think they should look into threada if they have free time and not wait for someone to report it. no offense mods.
Mi A1 best phome i habd owned so far for the price and build quality i nerver had any issues with. thou im still a huge fan of custom roms and kernels i still flashed it for more better stability and performance.
and i think this kind of thread should be closed its inviting arguments and hate if you know what im saying!

yeah. we definately need more threads about things that were talked 1000000 times already. a harsh talk with arguments is not good thing on discussion subforum! you're right!
about the device, its one of the worst i had despite the price. even crappy ZTE was better supported during life cycle than this piece of **** mi a1.

Well, why is one of the worst? what are the issue you facing beside xyaomi being slow to release kernel sources and upgrading to oreo and bugfixing?
Say: is bad
without give the reason why is bad is not a discussion, is a rant.
a rant is toxic in a forum, in a forum must be discussions.
Why this thread isn't been already closed, it's ridiculously bad.
You are critical with the community but what have you done for it, guess what, nothing.
You are just here to scream in every theread without realizing that you are one of those "toxic community", instead of complaining try to help someone, port or develop something.
Please shut and stop acting like a ****.

If you want custom ROMs you need to WAIT, read it two times.
Devs are working on it as you can see.
Or you can build your own "Working custom ROM", good luck for your work

@Moderator Committee please close this thread as it's useless and inviting hate. This is not adding any value and it's just bringing disgrace to hardworking developers who are working in their free time without any payment from us to bring out custom roms, tweaked OS.
@ OP stop cribbing and whining. If you really want to be heard, crib n whine on Xiaomi' forum not XDA. Or better, buy ZTE n stay satisfied.

it's Xiaomi community ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The device is cheap, solidly built, running stock android Oreo, receiving monthly security updates, has a decent camera (which can be improved by root/gcam), has full day battery life, has great audio through headphones, bluetooth calling works fine, wifi doesn't cut out anymore since last update... Apart from the fact it has no NFC, I don't see what all the b*tching is about?
This is the worst topic ever on XDA. Why the hate?
@ГАСООП
This also true for you: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75490272&postcount=2
Even more though looking at what you have done until now for the community here... (just look at the attachment if you don't get it)

Discussion Thread for G7 Root on Other Models (Just a discussion, not actual root)

So development for root on other models seems to be slow, because of this, I wanted to start this thread in where we can possibly get developers that have come up with root methods for other LG phones in the past. Maybe we can start up a bounty thread or even donate directly to a developer to get them a G7 who is interested in working on this phone (just like when we donated to Cstark27 for GCAM development on our phones). What does everyone else think? Hopefully we can get some developers on board!
Personally, I have a G710PM (Sprint Model) and would test out methods if a developer has one, but if it has the chance to brick my phone I would back down as this is my only phone and can't risk that.

Development is slow give it time there's multiple devs working on everything behind the scenes, believe me I want nothing more than to root this thing (I'm carrying around a rooted phone along with my G7 just for a few things) but I'm being patient and optimistic. It will get here eventually

A tutorial or video tutorial for everything

Good day XDA team and comunity.
Title says it all.
I have been in the android world for over 7 years now, as an advanced user, because that is what I am, I do not develop or anything like that, quite few mods, some investigations and fixing things by taking a tutorial here or there and some common sense. Some hard bricked devices back when I was starting to install custom roms and rooting devices.
Now, as far as I can remember, hard bricks came from MY mistake. Never blamed any dev or anyone who provided software that I was accepting the responsibility of installing. The post here, or question right here, would be either for new users or users that are not that new that are not used to use the search button or make some reading. I came to this after watching a youtube video about how it looked a custom One UI rom on redmi note 5 (BTW I do not own a whyred device, I own a samsung but I love to keep on watching the develpment scene). I went down to comments to see about bugs, but I got surprised when I saw the question that made me start this post:
"Sir i cant install a custom recovery in Redmi Note 5/5plus .U make a video about custom rom for RN5 recently. But i Can't Install Recovery.Sir I need help. ASAP!"
or
"Can this rom for redmi 5 plus?"
I don't mean to be rude or anything like that but... Seriously? Starting with not knowing a difference between 2 devices that have a different processor, because the video was for Redmi Note 5/pro (whyred) and not Redmi Note 5/5 Plus (Vince). But well, we all have had the confusion. Here is another one: A video for installing TWRP? That is the real ¿Seriously? Back in the days, we read and a lot! Prior installing anything that modifies the device itself, now, everyone wants a video for everything and do not take the time to read. In my humble opinion, if you start asking for that, without reading or at least making a simple google or xda search... dude, you better keep your device as it is, and I say it by experience. The worst of it all? Blaming developers for the mistakes that we make... and seriously, that is the most awful part of this. I can say that as I have had plenty of android devices, some of them with tons of development, some of them with no development at all.
So, conclusion is, to new users, and users that are used to be given everything, please read, if you don't know something, read, google search, xda search, make sure no one else have had the issue before and that you are the only one with it, so you can advise the rest of us. Some researching has not hurt anyone.
If the post needs to be moved to other side or deleted, please let me know, I just wanted to express how I feel about the community for about 2 or 3 years until now. Hopefully people starts reading.

XDA we need you

There are tons of complaints on the official oneplus Nord forum and XDA about connectivity, brightness, notifications and screen issues.
We have sent a lot of logs to help the oneplus team with zero feedbacks.
It's been 3 months and several updates, nothing is fixed. The community needs answers.
Could someone take a look at this and help us being heard by oneplus with an official XDA article ?
All being N00bs ("Cupcakes") and/or first timers coming from Apple: to be ignored.
Yeah, an XDA article could make a difference. Oneplus seems to be ignoring even the major bugs like internet connectivity issue. Its really annoying and ruining the day to day experience of device.
Even after several major updates and submission of complaints and logs, OnePlus didn't fix the issues till now.

it's a disaster too many bugs to sell it but oneplus team pays reviewers well
Same here. Most common bug and irritating bug is, google feed/discover won't load while on mobile data. Rest i can live with, but leaves me also by aLOT of question marks!
After all-around, this is my second OP Device, and my last one!
(ps and i don't think that A11 is gonna solve those issues)
My 2 cents..
Forget google feed/discover, I'm even having connectivity issues with other apps

Perhaps a thread or even a development section which details learning resources where long time members (like myself) who have been on the scene for years (but can't actually contribute anything worthwhile) can learn how to contribute without getting flamed for asking stupid questions alongside others with a similar mentality?
Absolutely, but had zero spare time to push this kind of things atm

See Oneplus 7 and 7T GPS issues. All swept under the rug.
The 8 Pro display issues? People still recommend it regardless of OP having the utmost worst warranty on this planet.
Random fanboys just pop up if you mention issues and just keep defending the company and I don't know why.
I am baffled by the fact they are so unwilling to see that the current OnePlus phones are really subpar quality. I am a huge OnePlus fan, but even I see that there are many problems.
Like now I want to get a OnePlus, because I really loved my 7 Pro, minus the GPS. But what to buy?
7/7T? Bad GPS. Nord? So many issues. 8 Pro? Display issues. 8T? Already seen a dozen problems on XDA.
Maybe the 8 looks like a viable option, I don't know. Maybe.

Xiaomi and Poco F2 Pro

Hello,
I was surfing on the mi community forum and found a thread about the new update for our Poco F2 pro but now i'm very skeptical about the future of our phone. In this thread "https://c.mi.com/thread-3510493-3-1.html" a supper moderator just answer people to get out of the forum (to be polite), litterally, and go for the Poco forum
with is new and buggy for now. How can he answer secondly that "...Poco is an independent brand now..."?!! Seriously ? When this phone get released with MIUI, saying it is no more a xiaomi responsabilities ?
(I don't want to create conflict with the xda forum rules orthe community, don't know if it's the right place to talk about it but i wanted to share it with you guys who bought this phone and giving my thought. Just my appologies if i did something wrong about this tread, thank you. This is my 1st xiaomi/Poco phone and i'm disapointed if it's will be this sort of trade off to the customers in 2021 by xiaomi)

The versions of rom cited in the article are BETA STABLE.
Yep, i know it 's a"beta stable" not sure why they call it like this. Beta for me is a test, not stable...But i made this thread to point how the supper moderator treat customers...
And on some screen, you can see in the update app, it says "stable", so people not aware of can be confused.
