Upgrading youtube video quality

So I noticed when I tried to watch a video on youtube with the browser that it was showing in 360p, so I clicked it to try and raise it to 720p, didnt work, it just flashed up for a second and thats it. I know in the youtube app you can just click HQ and it will make the quality better but any way of doing it in the browser?

Youtube in Browser

Strange issue. When i am reading news feeds in the stock browser and there is a video embedded in a webpage (i.e. playing a review video on engagdget) and i click play on the video inside the browser, it loads the sound but no video shows. Not until I open the video inside the youtube app does the video show. Any resolutions for this issue? I am running CM7 on my thunderbolt.
This is a known issue with CM7. Try this fix though. http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/25350-fix-for-flash-103-on-cm7/

[Q] How do I set a resolution of an Android device?

What I have here is this unbranded 7" WM8850-MID tablet, and it's obvious that the aspect ratio is wrong!
It has a 15:9 stretched on a 16:9 screen and it's really annoying because all the videos playing on it look stretched out.
How can I set a custom resolution to match the aspect ratio of the tablet? Thanks.

Well reality is that you can not change the resolution of screen. Try MX Video Player. You can fit the video on your screen just the way you want!
Hit thanks if I helped you.....

Seems like that's the only way.
Is there a way to make videos play with MX Video Player? For example, if I'm on YouTube, can I make it play in MX Video Player?

Seems a Bit Tedious Now... But here is the solution.... Maybe it will help you.... Open MX Player. Go to Settings > General > Check Play Http Link Videos...
Now, As you might know, Watching any video on YouTube=Downloading the Video. So just copy the video URL you want to watch & go to the browser and paste it.
Now here is the trick: You have to edit the URL as www.youtube.com/abcdefghqwerty To www.ssyoutube.com/abcdefghqwerty. i.e, you have to add the letters 'ss' before word 'youtube' then hit go. It'll go to savefrom page. Select the quality and format of video you want. It will open the video with MX Player!! Watch it with desired resolution. B)
Try it!! This trick will also save your data traffic!

Zoom L/R independantly for Side By Side videos in Google Cardboard

Hi All
I have some side by side (3D) videos on my phone, and Id like to watch them in MX player using my Google cardboard.
At the moment, The video takes up the whole screen, and the field of view of the cardboard is to small to see the whole video.
If I zoom out, It zooms from the middle of the screen, which obviously screws up the image, as it's no longer in the center of your eye.
Id like a way to zoom out from the center of each half of the screen, so the video would split in the middle.
Is this possible?
Thanks,
Tommy

I second the request, it would be great to be able to use MX player with google cardboard (or other VR headsets) to either watch 2D videos like on a big screen and 3D SBS videos.
I would like to third this. I have a cardboard and some SBS 3d movies. Zooming out so that each side is still centered would be ideal as MX Player is main player for videos.

I am also looking for a Video Player app that will play the 3D SBS videos with Google Cardboard in a better way. I have the same problem. I would love to be able to zoom out the video so it looks like you are watching the 3D video on a virtual theater screen (just like the YouTube section inside Google Cardboard app). So, for all you talented Developers out there, check out the YouTube section inside the Google Cardboard app. Develop a video player that will mimic that experience. You can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone can contact the Developer of MX Player, then ask them to please create a Virtual Reality Cinema mode for MX Player. I believe that this would be the best solution for watching 3D SBS videos with Google Cardboard.
Hi everyone, please post/repost your question/request/comment on the new Sticky thread on this topic. This way, it's more organized and we can more easily get visibility and discussion on this topic.
