Unable to unlock bootloader using In-depth Test - Realme 5 Pro Questions & Answers

It says "Failed to submit application" and " This is carrier-customized phone" .
I am using the India version (Realme 5 Pro)
OS: RMX1971_11_A.13
Carrier: N/A (No sim)
Location: Malaysia
I am fine with unofficial method, please let me know if there is any. Tks in advance!
UPDATE:
Apparently unlocking bootloader is OFFICIALLY NOT SUPPORTED for Malaysian version, as seen in the email attached.
If you buy your phone in Malaysia with the intension to flash a custom ROM, you are basically jebaited. 1 year after starting this thread and there is still not a single way, official or unofficial, to unlock the bootloader on Malaysian devices. So, if you are looking to buy a cheap phone to flash a custom ROM on, do yourself a favor and go for Xiaomi instead.

while asking question, you have to elaborate viz version of firmware, country, carrier etc

Like any bootloader unlocking method that doesn't necessarily recommended by Realme but works.

Hi. May i know were you able to downgrade or solve the carrier problem?

Hi, I'm also having this problem, may I know if you were able to find a solution?

No, downgrading doesn't work. I emailed Realme Support Malaysia and they replied that bootloader unlocking is not supported in Malaysia so I gave up.
With that being said, I did thought up an idea recently . I havent try it personally because I dont have time to do so but it might just work: After you reset your phone, on the set up screen, choose India as your location instead of EU or Malaysia. Then, try unlocking again.
Anybody have nothing better to do please help me try this out and reply if it works or not. Ty
Update: Apparently you cant choose your country on the set-up screen

In case anybody wondering, this doesn't work, the phone just simply restarts into OS instead of landing on the fastboot screen like shown in the video.

About the bootloader and root.

I've just purchased the phone and the massive amount of bloatware, lack of adaway and the useless bixby button instantly made me want to root. However I have a couple of issues.
First off, I don't even know if my bootloader is unlocked. I tried the phone dial technique and the fastboot technique and both of them did nothing. I also tried looking in the devs option for a "oem unlock" option, but it appears to be missing from my device. So, how do I check if my bootloader is unlocked?
Second off, I have the snapdragon variant, which means no twrp for me for now. However I did see that cf-auto-root supports my device, so that's some good news. I haven't been in touch with the android community for quite a while now, but I did see that a better (apparently), open-source alternative exist to supersu : Magisk (I'm particularly interested in the "hide root" feature). Can I install Magisk even after rooting with cf_auto_root (which installs supersu iirc)?
Thank you for your time.
Sorry, but cf-auto-root does not support the Snapdragon variant sadly.
http://imgur.com/HiYRXIB
I may be wrong, but I think it is supported.
It requires an unlocked bootloader or a phone capable of accepting fastboot oem unlock / fastboot flashing unlock. I wish I were wrong, trust me..
Oh that's too bad. How do I know if my bootloader is unlocked though?
I would do a little reading here as this has been discussed numerous times. Unfortunately, you need an unlocked bootloader to use any of the root tools out there. All of these sites have a disclaimer noted regarding not working with a locked bootloader. So sit back and grab a beer...may be a while until we see root...if at all.
If you have a snapdragon...its locked.
Hey guys thanks for the thread.
I'm in the same boat here, Snapdragon version Galaxy S8 in Canada. If anybody knows or hears anything about a way to unlock the bootloader in the future so we can get all this Samsung garbage off our phones that wouldn't be amazing.

That was the command to unlock the bootloader, to see if it's unlocked you can try this:
Step 1 : Open your device’s dialer (App where you enter telephone numbers to call someone).
Step 2 : Dial the below code, it will automatically open a new windows. (if it doesn’t opens anything then use the second method).
1. *#*#7378423#*#*
Step 3 : Now in that window go to Service Info >> Configuration, and see if there is :
1. Bootloader unlock allowed - Yes >> This means that your Bootloader is Locked
2. Bootloader Unlocked - Yes >> This means that your Bootloader is unlocked
If this doesn't work you can try this:
Step 1 : Download and install adb & fastboot package & drivers in your system (Google it for your device).
Step 2 : After successful installation of adb & fastboot, connect your device to your PC via USB cable in fastboot mode.
Step 3 : Now open the folder where your adb & fastboot package is extracted, press Shift key on your keyboard and right click in the folder and select “Open command prompt here“.
Step 4 : It will open a Command Prompt window.
Step 5 : Type the following command to check if the device was detected in fastboot mode.
fastboot devices
Step 6 : if you don’t get device it or anything it means that the drivers weren’t correctly installed or the device wasn’t connected properly, if this happens try reinstalling your drivers.
Step 7 : Next run the following command to check the status of your device’s bootloader.

mi mix 2s / destroyed because of flashing - NEED HELP PLS?

hello, im new in this forum.
i have a mi mix 2s and i wanted to unlock it. mi unlock tool said: device already unlocked..
so I started the flash tool with a global and I think i forgot to switch from "clean all and lock" to "clean all"
so the phone booted in the recovery and said "this version cant be installed on this device"
now I cant do anything...i tried with
- Xiaomi Tool (doesnt works because of usb debugging isnt enabled)
-xiaomi unlock tool says i have to sign in to my account on the device
-Xiomi flash tool (Erase boot error), i tried the official gloabl and china
-adb mode knows my device but no flashing
A friend says there is now software on it. but i dont know
I CAN go to fastboot and i can go to the recovery 3.0
PLS help me! Thank you so much
Try to flash twrp, do factory reset with encryption. Then flash rom with adb sideload
If you have the XE model (which is the Chinese model) and locked your bootloader after flashing the Global ROM your phone is bricked. The Chinese model can't boot up the Global ROM with a locked bootloader. If that's what you did I don't think there is a solution. You need to unlock the bootloader again but if the unlock tool doesn't work I don't know of another option with these phones.

That's apparently true but there were also at least a half dozen people who contacted Xiaomi Support after reading that and reported that they received no help. They are currently trying to get the name of the specific support person who unlocked the bootloader.
That doesnt Sound good... Where can I get Support? I Used [email protected], is that the right way?

There are threads about this issue on the MIUI Forum. Someone else said today that Xiaomi Support bound his account to his device which allowed him to use the Unlock Tool. It seems to be very hit or miss in regards to getting somebody in support who understands the issue. You should really go to the Xiaomi Forum for the MI Mix 2S. Only Xiaomi can help you and you will get better information there regarding this issue.
I want to flash my Mix 2s from Android P back to Miui 9.5. I purchased the phone with P already installed, does anyone know how I can flash it successfully? I am new at this. my phone says unlocked underneath the xiaomi name when I turn it on so I think its unlocked bootloader? but its not rooted any help would be greatly appreciated

You might be able to fix your issue by flashing the ROM using the MI PC Suite Beta program. That program allows you to flash a ROM when the bootloader is locked but I don't know much about it. Someone in a similar situation as you claimed he got his phone running again using that program.

Using the MI Flash Tool on your computer is probably the easiest way. Download the latest stable ROM if you want to go back to MIUI 9.5. You need the MI Flash version that ends in extension tgz--not the fastboot version which is a zip file. Uncompress the tgz file, put your phone in fastboot mode and connect it to your computer, open the MI Flash Tool on your computer with administrative access. It should detect your phone. If it doesn't I think there is a refresh button. After your phone is detected point the program to the location of the uncompressed ROM folder. Before you flash look at the options at the very bottom. The default will relock your bootloader so you might want to change that. When you hit flash the tool does everything automatically and returns your phone to stock MIUI.

hi, any success?

Bootloader unlocked - then what?

Hi, so I have the Chinese PDEM30 version of the Oppo X2 Pro and I've applied for the bootloader unlock using the in depth testing APK from Oppo. As I believe it was made available in July, wondering if anyone else has done this yet and had approval already?
Once (if) I get approval, I gather the unlock is pretty simple:
1) App says approved
2) restart into recovery mode by holding power + volume down (after backing up data of course).
3) plug into PC and use ADB to unlock using the simple generic fasboot command (after enabling USB debugging in developer options of course).
PHONE UNLOCKED!
So here comes the silly question - does this mean I can load ANY ROM I want or does it have to be a custom ROM via TWRP or some other tool.
I simply want to load the global ROM, so assuming I can just do this from the recovery mode. Obviously right now it doesn't work as we get the "this is an older version" error. Will an unlocked bootloader solve this or is there more to it?
Appreciate any help from someone a bit more familiar with the process.
Thanks
Ben
and FYI, here's the current status in the testing app, I have to wait until the 10th September for the result. Fingers crossed!

Thanks, didn't see that thread - very informative but still doesn't tell me if I'm able to load the standard global firmware once it's unlocked. Guess I'll find out in s few weeks

Question What is the error when unlocking the bootloader?

1. The touchscreen on the phone was replaced with a non-original one.
2. The phone has been unlocked before. Then it was locked. The original firmware does not work with the Chinese touchscreen. So I want to reflash it to LineAge.
3. I use miflash_unlock-en-5.5.224.24 version to unlock the phone. The other versions give an error.
4. After waiting 162 hours for unlock, got this error "unlock tool please use the common user tool on the official website"
5. Google does not know about this error. What to do?

Read better the guide I linked...
The unlock code must be used with the fastboot command on PC
For boot.img you extract from original firmware file with 7Zip or WinRAR. To download the original firmware see this guide
