does thi s happens for you to?
my end call button is broken^^
it doenst anymore sit in the middle of the bottom where the lightsensor is^^
if i press on the side with red phone on
it goes up^^
what to do?
It happened to me almost half a year ago. I wanted to replace the buttons in the service center, but then I just got used to it
It seems that Vox has a very loose construction of the front panel.
U can buy replacement housings with keypads on ebay..
when it happened to me i just used feviquick(or superglue)-only 1 small drop and kept my phone upside down to avoid sticking it with the other buttons and now it is like before and no one can make out the damage..i feel i was dumb to even think of buying a new one..1 more thing make sure u dont stick the light sensor if u use this trick..i read in many forms of successful users
My screen has a weird cloud on it on the right side (ffc is up) about the size of half a pinky fingernail that is red, green, and blue all mixed up (probably liquid crystal). Whenever I press within 3 inches of it, it changes to black and it's really annoying, for example, when I scroll with my right hand and it goes black and obstructs view. This was after someone I was showing it to dropped it from 4 feet I've been planning to return it to Costco and wait for Tegra 3 / Kal-El, but haven't yet. Should I:
1. Call up Moto and have them fix it
2. Return at Costco and get new one
3. Return at Costco and wait for something else
4. Fix it at home

If you bought it at costco why wouldn't you return it and get a new one, i've returned 3 no questions asked.
I have the same exact problem and figured I would wait for the 4g upgrade to return it.
Sorry to hear about the 4 foot drop. Surely you're not considering failing to mention the fall to Costco, right?
Ethics aside, it seems like exchanging would serve you well. Good luck with whichever choice you make.
Costco is the best. Probably won't even ask why you want to return.
I would return for full credit and then turn around and buy another one on a different receipt.
If they do ask why you are returning it.... tell them you didn't like it. Done!
Edit: Assume you know that they have a 90 Day return policy? ..... Yipeeeee
I got the Wifi version so no point in "waiting".
I guess I could just TB and restore after re-rooting. I was just wondering, though, if there was any cheap and quick way to fix this. For example, maybe since the cloud comes naturally if I bend the device, I could bend it again except in the other way as to get rid of the "cloud".
I definitely wont mention the fall to Costco.

Received my replacement transformer the other day and thought it was OK on initial inspection, in a darkened room.
But actually, when you pump the brightness up to full, looking at a black screen (downloaded a black jpeg to test it as in the galley app the software buttons fade out so you get a true picture) it is actually no better than the one I sent back.
So my question is, using that system - black jpeg, full brightness, is there anyone out there who has no light bleed, particularly around the bottom left hand corner?
Cos if there is, it looks like this baby is going back to Comet for a second replacement, and if everyone has it, then I guess I will have to assume its a manufacturing 'feature' and just live with it.
Cheers for your help folks.

Glad there is somebody know knows how to test a LCD light bleed properly.
I have the exact same issue. Maybe its part of the design.

Check my post in the other light bleed thread. I'd be happy to explain more if you'd like: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13478882&postcount=111
I did everything you said, and see no light bleed in mine. I just got mine today.

Has anyone noticed a problem with going from manual brightness to auto, and it not auto adjusting?
No light bleed here.

Zero light bleed for me as well.
at a very extreme angle i can see a little near the camera. doesn't bother me, i would have never noticed

I mean... you went through all that to find a defect? I know that we all want the perfect device but how often will the light bleed actually affect us?
I think I also have light bleed but I had to tilt the damn thing to find it and it seemed perfectly fine before reading these posts.
Does it really bother you that much that you're even willing to go through the hassle of exchanging it?
I first noticed it when I booted the tablet with the lights out in the room. I don't have any issues in normal use and it doesn't bother me enough that I'd want to send it back.
I just got my 32GB. I didn't notice it during the daytime, but at night I do see a little towards the top. But not to the point where it bothers me.
Got a couple of small spots along the bottom that i could live with only noticeable if you have light off and brightness at full, one of the corners has quite bad bleed, can see it on darkish screens without even turning lights off or even down.
Considering whether to return it.

'All that' is not really all that to be honest. I downloaded a black jpeg and looked at it whilst sat here watching the telly, took about 30 seconds in all to show up a significant level of light leaking in from the bottom corner.
If you have to tilt your unit to find any light then its not going to be a problem for you. On mine it casts a glow on the bottom corner when I am sat with it on my lap in a normal living room with the table lamp on.
For me there is nothing wrong with wanting a perfect device, I am pretty sure that's what I paid for. Had it not been perfect then Comet would have it marked as 'seconds, and would have charged me quite a bit less.
As it is, it arrived direct from the factory with this defect, and as I have said before, on a £100 cheapie off eBay I would probably put up with it, but not at 400 quid.
Add to this, unless Asus receives units back to their factory with these issues pointed out they will be unaware of the problem and have no incentive to tighten up their manufacturing process.
I don't know what is going on over in the US, but I do know they are far less accepting of poor service/goods than we are in the UK, and if these problems exist in units being shipped over there they will be flying back to Asus at a great rate of knots, and this is with the Us Transformer costing CONSIDERABLY less than it does over here.
If you have a good one, I am happy for you, and slightly envious of you. I wish I did.
On the blue boot screen or setting screen there is massive light bleeding on right and left side (about 2 inches wide). However, when there is an image on the screen it looks fine. Unfortunately I don't have a wireless connection at home so I haven't tried putting any movies or 'black' jpegs on the device for further testing; but will do so tomorrow. My hope is that when playing movies it looks fine and if so I won't worry about it. Screen has good fidelity; speakers seem decent and unit feels lighter than the acer/xoom. Also build doesn't seem that bad.
-
So far only immediate reactions are: Why didn't amazon put something in the shipping box like bubble wrap and what the @!#)(* no charging light? Even my $10 cell phone has a charging light.
I asked Asus phone support. They said there should be NO light bleed. I said a couple of times that mine is very slight, from the lower left corner, and he repeated that there shouldn't be any at all and that I should get a replacement.
I'm requesting a replacement anyway as my compass is broken, hopefully I can get one into my local Comet store so I can see for myself first.
A picture, as they say, paints a thousand words.
(and just to rub salt in the wound, discovered the gap along the side of the screen mentioned in another thread! 'Hello, is that Comet? I have something I need to discuss.....')

Light bleed here as well
Just wanted to chime in and say I have it too. At first I didn't notice it because I had just got it.. but after a while I found my eye being drawn down to the edges where there was light bleeding through. Its an unwelcome distraction and this unite will no doubt be exchanged for another one.

Auto adjusting works when you turn the screen off then back on.
i feel all of you. One time I bought a car and one of the tire pressures was off by the time I got home. I took the car back to the dealer several times til they got the tire pressures right on all four tires. Took a month to get it right. The nerve of these manufacturers.

No, this is more like buying a new car and your car doors or windows not shutting fully.
Need to send 10.1 back? It's really only visible in upper portion of the screen.
Think i'am blind but.....i can't see what your problem is?
Look at the title bar, there are 3 distinct areas of backlight bleed.
Oh i see it, if it bothers you too much than send it back to samsung.
Any amount of backlight bleed, to me, is unacceptable. Quality control in today's world is absolutely ridiculous.. Send it back for a replacement.
I recently bought a Samsung 60" LED tv and sent that POS back due to lightbleed and banding down the middle of the screen.
Gonna return it. They don't really care, as many reports in web in addition to this.
Hi all,
My all time favourite watch was this:
http://www.tokyoflash.com/en/watch_museum/s-mode/oberonss/
People used to stop me in the street to ask how it worked. Trying to work out the time when drunk was impossible but I loved it. Unfortunately, I lost it on holiday last year and the company do not make it any more, so I have purchased a Gear S2 in the hope that somebody out there might be able to create a watchface that replicates what it does?
I am more than happy to pay for this work. If you are able to help, perhaps you could message me to arrange?
Thanks in advance!!

i looked at this watch and am interested in creating it for the gear s2. my thought is that it would be more intuitive if the time rings progressed as follows:
(example time 3:25)
outer ring = hour, so 3 dots
middle ring = tens of minutes, so 2 dots
inner ring = final minute digit (0-9), so 5 dots
in the video from your link the middle and inner links are reversed, which is a bit confusing. as a previous owner would you agree?
Hi, and thanks for replying. I couldn't agree with you more about the dots being in the wrong order. I got used to it over the years, but to have them follow a natural order would be better. Do you think you can do this?
it is a pretty unusual watch face which i like. i've done several requests that are now in the gear store but this one will really test my skill level. the animation part will be a significant challenge.
i am going to give this a try.
You sir, are my hero
Please advise of anything I can do, testing etc. As stated above, also happy to pay you for your time, as this will make me so happy!!
If animation proves difficult, even just the ability to display the time this way would be incredible.

working thru the design phase, i believe the reason that the original oberon watch rings were ordered hour/minutes/ tens of minutes was due to the look for times that ended in 6-9. the middle ring would then be longer than the inner ring. this probably looks better.
for example 10:47
outer ring 10 dots
middle ring 7 dots
inner ring 4 dots
this provides a more symetrical look, but i still think the way i am proposing makes more sense even though it may not be as asthetically pleasing
outer ring 10 dots
middle ring 4 dots
inner ring 7 dots
not as symetrical, but easier to tell time. i am more inclined to this method rather than the original. your thoughts?
That sounds perfect

watch face to display TIME is done. running on my s2 3g now, looks good. takes a bit to get used to reading time in this format. very unconventional.
next will try to get initial animation sequence to work which would really make it look more gooder.
don't think date will work out. i use Gear Watch Designer as the dev tool which is ok but is still beta, so there is no ability to include a function to double press side button and activate DATE like the original watch.

To be honest with you, I never really used the date function so this is not a problem for me. if needed I can check phone but I usually know the date
I'm sooooooo looking forward to this!! I don't suppose you've used the middle section to add stuff like battery, steps etc have you as would be cool to include that obvs.

i've got 2 easter eggs on the current version. touching just below the 12o'clock position opens S-Voice and just above the 6o'clock position opens Timer (i use these 2 functions routinely; they can be hard coded to open whatever). there isn't a whole lot of real estate on the face so these spots are invisible.
there is enough room in the middle for maybe 2 items so let me know exactly what you want.

Only really the battery percentage would be useful for me, and also the date in "xx mon" format if possible??
Sorry, also a notification indicator if possible????
ya notifications. GWD doesn't allow that. I and many others have been badgering the Samsung programmers to include notifications in the development tool. maybe in a future revision.
I will add battery and date in the requested format.
Here's the deal. Tomorrow is out so i will submit the binary to samsung for certification on monday. they are fairly backlogged; i have several other submissions in limbo and it's been a week now. it's possible the oberon watchface will be available by the end of the week but don't hold your breath. i'll let you know the name of the watchface once sammy certifies it. the proposed cost will be 2USD. if i can get the initial animation sequence puzzle solved, it will be available as an update in the future (i presume at no charge unless sammy does something odd).
