I have a px3 unit and something weird is happening. Let's say I turn off the car, get out, lock it and everything. After some time the radio will start to turn itself on for about 10 seconds or so and then turn off again. If I leave volume on the louder side, sometimes I can hear it on the driveway at night.
It also, you guessed it, drains my battery. Recently I left my car for a few days and when I got back it couldn't start.
It's Renault Megane III btw.
Um, help?

Sometimes when I grab the phone out of my pocket and I press the power key to enable the screen, I discover that it is off :S. When I press the reset button it will start again, but it seems strange to me. You guys have a suggestion of what it could be?
Hmm, this sound familiar...
I've just posted re battery life and my phone waking up all by itself, but now I come to think of it I've seen this happen as well - or my phone just soft reset itself randomly occasionally.
I wonder if they are related problems...

When I press the normal power it won't start up, so it isn't totally shut down though. Only a reset will do it. Very annoying.

Mine has started and shutting
NOT powering up with the power key or
the soft reset. I literally have to
pop the battery out and back in to start
up the phone. ???
If your phone is randomly turning off...yet it turns back on...your battery may be reaching its end. How long have you had the phone? My dash used to tend to do this when it was reaching the end of its battery life...it wouldn't just...run down. I noticed a decrease in battery life, but the moment the phone needed heavy usage (internet, messaging) the battery couldn't dish out enough power and it'd just turn off...this would even happen in my pocket if enough calls or texts came through...then when I'd go to check, it'd be off.
It's not that, I'm assuming, it's the phone. I just bought a new HTC Touch Pro 2 Days ago, and it does the same thing. It randomly shuts down, and it even overheats, and I have 3 batteries for the phone because I use my phone extensively. Sad thing is, this phone was to be more powerful then my 6800 and so far, it's failing.
Well, then I'm assuming its time for a replacement, lol. I've had mine for a while now, never had that issue. Never had that issue with any phone except my Dash when the battery took a dump.
My phone is 2.5 weeks old. I would hope they battery wasn't dying already, but who knows. The keyboard quit today and the screen has been acting funny too. Like when it goes into "sleep mode" the screen fades but you can still see the buttons to unlock the phone and the buttons on the bottom are all lit up and won't turn off.
The screen is incredibly wiggly too... This happened after I took my phone to a local sprint store. They put the phone casing on it to show me what it would look like and then the guy yanked it off my phone.
I am starting to wonder if some of this is not related to that.
So, since the keyboard died today.. Asurion is sending me another replacement phone... Guess we will see.
I think my problem has something to do with this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3748976#post3748976
I recently have found that this happens to me whenever I turn the feature where it disconnects from EDGE when my device goes to sleep. However, when I turn that off and let EDGE continue to be on while my phone is in sleep I don't get this problem anymore. I have it checking my email every 5 minutes if that makes any difference.
alright dudes and dudettes.
i have the same issues more often than i would like.
it powers itself off and the only thing i cna do is soft reset. also sometimes when i wake the phone up, my plasma theme is distorted it still slides across but everything distorts and i cannot access any progs.
it is an annoying issue.
any fixes ideasm, help would be top. thanks..
Alright so about a month ago my phone decided the headset was always plugged in, even though its not. Calls dont ring, no speaker sound whatsoever. This happends on any Rom, even stock.
I used a software workaround that routes the audio back and forth, but its a major hassle. I miss calls all the time.
Recently i unplugged my headset and the speakers worked for about an hour, then it shut off again. So i thought it was a hardware problem.
I wiggled a pin around in the port and BAM it worked again for about 20 minutes then stopped. This is very hard to repeat and now i can only get it to work for a couple seconds.
I found that hitting a certain spot inside the aux port that is nearest to the back of the phone about 1/4 the way down is the sweet spot.
I have tried using a q-tip to clean it, nothing happends.
Is a pin stuck? how can i get it unstuck for good? should i take the phone apart?

So, yesterday I got in my car and it wouldn't start, the battery was flat.
I fitted a new battery as the other one was the original and I figured it was due a change anyway.
When I got in and started the car this morning, my MTCE unit immediately came on as though from sleep and not shut down. It didn't need to boot like it normally does. So, I checked in settings and it is still set to shut down after 30 seconds of ignition off. So I powered it off, waited two minutes and put it back on, it came on immediately. So it looks like it isn't shutting down as it's supposed to although when I pull the ignition key out the unit waits a few seconds and then says shutting down before the screen goes off.
Is it worth me trying a full factory reset and see if it solves it? I'd rather not but don't want this to continue in case that is what was draining the battery yesterday. It has always shut down and booted normally until then.
What version of Android is it running and is it wired up correctly. A few of them had the red and yellow wires revered on the unit.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk
It's on Malaysk ROM and is definitely wired correctly as it was working for two years until yesterday. I see there is a later MCU for me so may try that later
I updated the MCU and it shuts down correctly now. Only annoying thing was the device did a factory reset at the same time, never had that happen with an MCU update before. Doesn't matter, will spend some time end of this week reinstalling my apps and stuff.
Hi, last week I installed MTCE PX5 unit and OBD module, I enabled auto sleep and about 6 days car worked good, but yesterday I must use cables to start it, so I did one hour ride to charge it, but today it happened again... I have Peugeot 407, my battery have 74 Ah and I have wiring right, because installation was easy plug and play. There was not any space for do some mistake. Also when car engine is running, radio shows income voltage is 14,4, which should be normal and there shouldnt be problem with alternator.
What is best solution now? should I buy car battery charger and try to charge it? Or my battery can be damaged?
Thanks

See an auto electrician.
I have almost the same problem. I just posted a new topic without realizing someone else has the same problem. My car is Renault Megane III coupe. I noticed that even while car is off, the radio periodically starts by itself and turns of after a short while, but over a few days that's enough to drain the battery. I changed the battery, bought a new one and it's still happening.

Try not using auto sleep but a fixed power off interval.
The head unit will take longer to start but probably it shouldn't use battery power when car is off.
Obd port is always on. So might be that draining the car battery.
Hope this helps.

I hope this is it, because I dont want to go to service, I took OBD module off and testing it now and so far so good.
I also have this problem. It's worse now that I don't use the car so often (quarantine and such...).
The first time this happened (after a 1 week vacation away from the car) I had the OBD module installed and I blamed it on that so I removed it and swapped the battery because it wasn't receiving enough charge. But this week (after 12 days without moving the car) the battery is completely flat. Can't even unlock the car with the remote, have to do it with the key.
I tried a lot of hacks (even have the can-bus powered from a fuse that I know it disconnects when I turn the car off), but I still have battery drain problems...
I will probably disconnect the radio when I know I'm going to leave the car off for big periods of time...

Your car needs to be started al least on 3 days interval, 12 days is to much even if you do not have installer an audio system like this.
There are things that are draining your batter also like de security sistem on your car.
Hi all,
I have modified my T295 to run directly off of the 12V in my car.
Basically I got a Buck LM2596 3A Step Down converter and dialed it in to exactly 4.0V to mimic a almost fully charged Li-Ion battery and hooked it up directly to the battery terminals, skipping the tiny board that comes with the battery. In other words, straight to the mainboard.
The tablet works perfectly as a car stereo connected to the Bluetooth Amp and doesn't have any problem, but once every 3 days or so it suddenly shuts off. Sometimes I enter in my car and it's already off and sometimes I'm driving, it suddenly gets a completely black screen and then shuts off. I can turn it on immediately after, but sometimes I need 2-3 tries.
Maybe it's kernel related and triggers some sort of brownout? But this doesn't make sense to me, since I can stress it and it doesn't turn off.
It's Android 9, rooted, debloated and decrypted in case this helps
Thanks for any advice!
