G9550 Is there an overclocked core? - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

dear all:
Does the G9550 have an overclocking core? My phone is very slow, I can't stand it. I want to have an overclocking core to make my phone smooth.
If there is no overclocking core, is there a LineageOS 16 version that supports G9550? I did not find support for the G9550 device on the official website.
Thank You

dear :
I reset my phone, but the speed of the operation still has not improved. I must suspect that the software is slow to open because of other reasons. My phone does not have ROOT permission. I will determine whether to obtain the highest permission according to the obtained plan. .
The end of By Alan is my habit, there is no other meaning, I am sorry, I am very sorry.

last thing first, i wasnt trying to be offensive, i was just giving you a hard time. and i suspect english isnt your primary language, so dont be sorry. Youre all good man.
Have you tried flashing the newest firmware from sammobile.com/firmwares on your phone? youd be surprised how much that can fix

Yes, English is not my main language, so in some habits, we will have differences, thank you for your understanding.
I tried to use the 'package disabler pro' to disable unwanted services, I was surprised to find that the effect was very good, Now the speed is perfect.
Thank You.

download and install this app from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=507212
soft reset, and on settings<system you will see Processor icon
it slow down the processor if it is not used, on my UNI down to 19Mhz, charged my UNI to 100% few hours ago, it is still at 100% with Phone turned on.
usually now it would be 85-86%
some users say after working whole day on it to have 60% instead of 10%
post some feedback
Thanks for sharing
Let´s test it...
Just curious... would over or under clocking have any adverse effects on hardware?
Guy's,
You must not install it in Uni, as it has a different (PXA2XX) processor.
Trying it on this device may cause a HW damage!!

Weren't you a bit late? I installed it! Luckily no harm sustained. It didn't work though as processor was of unknown type for this application.
I hope orb3000 is safe, he was earlier than me here.

Tomal said 'it may' and not 'it will' so luckly we are safe. But it never worked for me. I mean it installed and opened correctly but processor was never under clocked, it showed fluctuations between 400 and 500 MHz all the time. Never being stable at 19 MHz.
My question remains unanswered... 'does over or under clocking causes any trouble in the long run'? As in the case of Desktop PCs over clocking heats the processor and prolonged use destroys it.

Nvidia shield tablet Power options help

Heya!
So i just got this Nvidia tablet with blisspop/lollipop or whatever it's called already installed.
Now i've been trying to read through some of the threads on this page but it honestly feels like im reading a different language.
I've noticed the Nvidia power options is gone from the tablet and since im lagging pretty bad often when playing games although not all the time, i'd like to fix this.
I thought the best option would be to increase my cpu usage, do you guys have any guides or tips for me on how i could do that?
Thanks in advance!
honestly, the kernel included in blisspop is plagued with odd behavior.. hangs, audio skips, and weird lag that comes and goes without reason...
some say it works fine for them, but myself and many others have had this issue... so, that is probably your problem.

I understand, is there anything i can install which works better? or am i stuck with the current "kernel" as it's called?
Sorry, i'm not familiar with the contents of blisspop and such.
you can try the official firmware, but if you bought the tablet with blisspop installed on it already... it is probably killswitched... so you need to follow the instructions here or risk breaking your tablet for good.

One last question; if i just use it regularly as i've been doing, will it actually just not work after some time?
Edit: i checked my serial number and it said "Next OTA: ST - yy (urgent)" so im guessing it's killswitched

yes, just be sure to remove the ota app as instructed in that post to ensure it won't get delivered.

I assumed the Killswitch is something that deactivates my tablet if i dont do anything to fix it, hence why i asked if it wouldn't work after a while if i didn't do anything about it.
I'll try to follow what the thread says. Thanks for the replies!
the killswitch could kill your tablet the instant it connects to the internet.
make sure you remove it BEFORE you do and you won't have any issues from that point on with anything.

I updated about 4 hours ago, with a device that has never been reseted, and been through 3 major updates (+500 mb) without a reset. No negative consequences have happened at any of the updates, UI is smoother all around, and standby battery has improved a lot. Even though I have both, WhatsApp and Kik open in the background, the battery has decreased only 4% in the past two and a half hours with me using the phone once a while. This is incredible, and the device has not heated up once in use, I can't even tell that the phone is on by feel, because it doesn't produce any heat.
I did read that many people did have issues with the update in India, where it was released first, but I have not had any issues, only big improvements. I've also noticed that the India update changelog did not list the things that mine did, so maybe they did changes to the update? I've also been trying to "use my phone like it's meant to be used", this includes no accessibility service hacks or gutting TouchWiz from the inside with a package disabler. I feel like changing how the system is meant to work is only going to make it worse, since a LOT of people were involved in making the S8 run fast and smooth, the exact way it's meant to be used for the average customer. The user interfering in this by disabling packages will inevitably cause errors in cross-process communication, where system applications are trying to communicate with other system applications that have been disabled by the user.

Do you know this forum has a SEARCH-function?
There's already a thread about Firmware-updates:
OFFICIAL STOCK Firmware-update (Odin) thread Samsung GALAXY S8+ SM-G955F
will this update enable 4x4 MIMO and 256QAM ?
After a factory reset my device seems to be fine. Maybe mine had a bad install... be good to hear if other people have had the same problem?

To be fair, that thread does say (Odin) in the title leading people to believe it does not apply to OTA updates.

Completely true!
Odin has nothing to do with the updates received through OTA.
Then the word "Odin" should be removed from the thread title because is misleading
Conversely, we may need another thread for discussing OTA updates, no Odin required!

Well, I had the update and can confirm my SD card is now much faster. I store my music and photos on it and now it's just as fast as reading from internal memory. I can't judge the Bluetooth part, don't use it much. I have my iPhone for that. I will test my memory speed but expect no issues.

I don't know if any of you have had the SD card mounting/unmounting problem, but do you think or does it fix that issue that has been ongoing in some of the Samsung community? I think it should fix it since it does seem to tweak it considerably. This is what myself and others are waiting for (in U.S). Please leave your carrier or country when you get the update, thank you!

Thanks. Speaking of which, is there another ROM available for my j727vl (sky pro) one? This sub forum is a little unorganized. Maybe the question is has this phone been rooted? (?). Technically I don't know so much how these things work, but I know if I can get this thing rooted I can possibly get wifi hotspot working on it which would be super fantastic. Might you know? Thanks

Privacy on chinese phones

Hey there,
I've been using my Realme 5 Pro with an ungoogled custom ROM for a while now, and I felt safe until I saw a video from The Linux Experiment (Videolink is with timestamp):
In the video, he mentions that he no longer wants to use a Chinese phone because China might force the manufacturer to install spyware. I know that The Linux Experiment is very skilled, but in this case I am not sure if he is a little bit paranoid. ^^
My questions are:
1. Is it possible for Chinese companies to spy on a phone with an open bootloader, custom ROM, and custom recovery?
2.1 I have already read that backdoors on the hardware side might be possible. Is this true?
2.2 How high is the risk of this happening?
2.3 What Information can they get with a backdoor on the hardware side?
3. How concerned should I be, because getting a phone without chinese influence is very hard?
Thanks for your help.
PS: I don't want political discussions. Just the technical view on my concerns, which are my personal opinion.

Is it really worth the effort? wouldn't a Hardwarebackdoor mean, that you only get machine language which has to be processed and sorted?
For a very important device like the phone of a president or minister that might be a practical solution but how much work is it to do that for a massive amount of people?
Thanks for your answer!
