Yeah it did it to me too. When you are setting up the phone towards the end it will have some options one of which is additional software. If you click on that you can un select the T-Mobile junk.

I didn't even get that! Did you get yours from t-mobile ? I just went with an unlocked one from best buy.
When I set up my phone initially I just skipped the account setup. I eventually setup my playstore account and that's when it installed 'T-Mobile" on me Very silently!

No, mine is the unlocked version from Google
I think Verizon did that with some of the hidden system apps when I popped in their SIM card. Some of them being, vze_msdc_api, Vze OMA Trigger and more, nothing that I could see without opening the settings, going into the app section and showing system apps.
Using unlocked version directly from google.

No APK that I know of. It's actually a really easy fix though. I was a little uneasy doing it but once I went through the process it was easy.
I did the wallet fix yesterday and I had lunch at McDonalds thanks to Google. Read the post and follow the directions as described. Good luck!
Awesome... Thanks guys

Wallet problem
Greetings everyone!
A little background first. Verizon SGS3, rooted and unlocked, but still on stock TW.
I completed the steps in the above mentioned thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1769083, and everything seems to be working ok. I have made a few purchases and it works, however I am thinking something is wrong.
Let me explain. When I go to make a purchase, it will make the POS machine flash/beep, etc., but then shows on my screen that the trans. may not be good/complete. The cashier continues the sale like normal, the receipt prints and all is good, but it just takes a min standing in line to make sure that all is well. Then after a while, the trans will show up in Wallet (on the phone) in the list.
Is this normal for you all?
Second thing is that I can't see my Google PrePay card in the online Wallet page. I can see the other cards that I have added in both places, phone and online, but I can't manage the new card that was given when I signed up. Therefore, I am stuck adding funds on the phone.
Should I do a reset? Will this lose the $ that I have added to the PrePay card, or will it magically pick it back up when I re-setup Wallet on the phone? I have read that I need to write down the card number (user ID) in case you need it, and I assume that this is one of those times.
Any ideas?
TIA for the help.
I'm not seeing it either unfortunately. I was just getting ready to try the workaround & then saw your post. Oh well, guess I'll still try the workaround.
Is it possibly just a regional thing? I read somewhere that they were getting ready to roll out ISIS in a couple of markets soon - is it possible that they unblocked Wallet in those markets to avoid the 'how do you justify blocking wallet as a security concern if you're now allowing ISIS' question?
Dunno.

it does say it's not available on my carrier for everything but my S3 thats where it's installed the XDA way. but thats funny because my tablet is WI-Fi only so it should be able to install it to my tab...Check the general section...
Hey everyone! So I don't know if I crazy or just blind but how do yoy find all of the downloaded samsung apps in the galaxy essentials app. It popped up and said I had 5 updates but when I went there it just brought me to the home page and I am having to hunt for the apps I have downloaded to update them. Is there not a My Apps page like the playstore? Someone please tell me what I'm missing! Thanks!
Oh and I'm on the Verizon variant of the note edge.
You mean the Galaxy Apps store? They're under purchases.
Weird thing is I don't have an option to see purchases. Where do you view purchases?
Here is what the menu loos like.
you have to sign in first after that you can find the purchase

I am signed in. You can see my email address that I blocked out. I have tried singing out then back in again and still won't show purchases. I even bought a damn app and still nothing. What the hell.....
Really strange! !!
In my opinion clear data and cash in app manager
Are you rooted?
If yes, try making a nandroid, resetting, and seeing if the store shows the option then?
Which note edge model are you on?
Or perhaps a less extreme option, wipe data for Galaxy Apps in Titanium? or just from settings if you don't have Titanium.

I have run through app manager and have no clue what the actually name of the app is. I cleared the widget which clearly wasn't it.
I'm not rooted as I am on Verizon but I think I'm going to do a factory wipe if I can't get this work. Thanks for everyone's assistance.

Flow this stractuer
That confirmed the main issue. I don't have that app. I only have galaxy essentials from the menu button under the app drawer. Can anyone pull that galaxy app apk and post it to see if I can install it. I have been unable to find it anywhere on samsung website.
It's not in my app drawer or in my app manager.
Search in all app if you don't have it in there something wrong with your Rom!
I'd have to agree. If you don't have that app, there's something SERIOUSLY messed up with your rom.
I attached the apk I pulled from my sprint phone. See if it works. It's supposed to be a system app so I'm not sure how that'll work . . .
(Sorry for the delay. My upload speeds are TERRIBLE (like 42KBps or so))
So after screwing around with this most of the day I eventually reformatted and started from scratch with no success. I read over on a Verizon note 4 that some of them didn't have the galaxy apps on their phone either. Can anyone with a Verizon Edge chime in to see if you have the galaxy app please.
Oh and thanks for everyone helping out and posting. I appreciate the help.

I tried it but it comes back and just saying not installed. I even searched for it on samsungs website like another note 4 owner recommended using apps.samsung.com but apparently that site refers you to the new s6 so not even that will work. So damn weird. Everything else works fine and I can even update the apps from the essential widget. Thanks again for posting the apk.

Ugh. I'd say your best option would be to root, but then that's not an option for Verizon . . . You could take it to the shop and see what they say about it. There's no reason to NOT have the Galaxy App store. And if Verizon's removing it on purpose, that's ridiculous.
And if you think apk for international model could be useful let me know
does anyone know if the s7's bootloader gunna be locked on our network or not?
I mean you really need to ask this question. Obviously you didnt hear verizon is going to unlock all our bootloaders and give us all back unlimited data!

Oh im sorry i meant do you recommend any other Visual Voice Mail apps, NOT Verizon Voice Mail apps, i agree Verizon apps are terrible and a robbery, i have been using google voice but find it a bit lacking and that's why i asked if you have any other voicemail app recommendations.
P.S Verizon financial policy's may suck but we cant deny we gotta love their speeds and coverage.
Only thing I know it will be possible (most likely with triggering OEM unlock in developer settings for non Verizon phones) don't know if it will help "flash" recoveries and such stuff on the Verizon phones, how is it now if you trigger it, it won't help odin flash anything?

You can't remove the battery from the S7 either and I meant wait for the new nexus devices later this year. Supposedly Google wants to design them themselves which would make them better than prior nexus devices and since Google has moved back toward integrating sd cards into the OS with marshmallow, I'm sure android N will as well which means the next nexus devices will have sd card slots.

I'm actually not sure.
I had Google Voice set up on my previous phone and restored it with Titanium Backup. When I go to the phone's voicemail settings I can select Google Voice as the voicemail provider. If I try to do the "setup" from there it gives me that same error you're getting, but it still works. Maybe try setting it up on a computer from the website? It's possible that step is unnecessary.

Isn't Google the very reason most of the manufacturers were pushed away from external SDcards in the first place?
I thought Verizon was done with carried tied phones. I though you would just buy the phone out right, or on a plan like at Best Buy, and then activate the sim. Maybe I a mistaken.

Hello,
I just purchased a HTC U11 Sprint version off ebay and it is google locked. It is on the newest firmware.
I googled around and tried other ways of getting around it, google account manager, but it says "Error" when it should say "Type Email and Password" option.
Is there any way of getting around this? The IMEI is not black listed on the site I checked it. Phone was a return that appears to have not removed the account before they reset it.
Thanks

Your best bet is to return it thru the eBay Returns mechanism. You won't even have to pay postage to return it because it's unusable. Check Swappa for replacement. Likely no cure for this that doesn't cost money.

Thanks! I cannot tell who the owner was, it does not show that.
Return shipping is not covered. So if I have to pay shipping, I figured i would look for a paid solution to this and actually found some on kijiji and ebay, reasonably priced.
I went with a local one off kijiji and they remoted to my phone connected to my pc by usb(with the help of some software) and were able to fix it when I put the phone in fastboot mode.
Once I rebooted it, I was good to go!!
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!!
How much did you pay for the service?
I've recently bought a Samsung s21 plus off Samsung, everything was working fine,no modifications were made on the phone by myself. But when I tried to log into my banking app it told me my device had been rooted and logged me out of the account.
I got in touch with Samsung, they replaced the phone as faulty, now my other replacement phone has done the same,in the past I've rooted many a phone, with the sim I'm using now in my Samsung, can the sim have any affect on uprooted phones ?
I tried the sim in my wife's Xiaomi phone with the same results, instructed me the phones been rooted, when her phone hadn't been rooted.
Samsung have asked the replacement to be repaired, which will be a waste of time, does rooting phones using a sim cause some kind of glitch ?
Maybe talk to your bank? If their app says your device is rooted when it isn't there's probably something wrong on their side...

If the bank app wrongly mistakes both your and your wife's untampered devices as rooted it very much sounds to me like it would have something to do with the bank app... If they've blocked your phone number or something along those lines (since your tests make it sound like it's connected to the SIM), maybe the bank can help you investigate what's going on.
Maybe I'm just not understanding the issue here...

I rang the bank ,they said it was the phone, not the app. I've tried to think of the common denominator but it's just puzzling, the app worked at first, then the security just threw me out of the app,the bootloader isn't even open.
