I got one, it worked. Except when I tried to mirror over Netflix, Hulu, YouTube TV, and Amazon prime video. Those didn't mirror to the TV. They played on my phone, but not on my TV. Any ideas? Suggestions?

Oh okay, i guess maybe they updated the apps. The cable worked for my gs9. Just not my 7pro.

I just read an article about drm protection being implemented through USB type c. I had no idea this was even a thing.

I have a p46s2. I have tried every HDMI port and nothing works, same cable in the living room on a Samsung plasma works, can you please tell me what you are doing to get it to work or what I may be doing wrong?

I didn't do anything special. I just connect the TF to my plasma using a mini-HDMI to HDMI adapter and it works.
Sorry, I don't know what to tell you.
My plasma is an older model though (600U). Maybe that has something to do with it.

Yeah my Panasonic doesn't work either. I have tried 2 cables and 1 adapter and I still can't get it to work. Must be something with the newer Panasonic Plasmas

HDMI has different versions starting with 1.0 up to 1.4 as of right now. They have different standards so the latest version 1.4 is better and allows more throughput and resolution through that cable. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI
Not that5 this helps at all but my Pan Plasma works fine also, even added a 10 foot hdmi ext to the mini to hdmi and attached it to the 50 foot hdmi that runs through the wall. All that with no loss in quality...
Non working HDMI here
Generic cheapy cable from Amazon plugged to a P42G20B.
Works fine on a different 21" Samsung LCD (don't have model to hand)
Looks like us Panasonic plasma owners need to try a 1.4 cable to see if it clears up the problem.
So are the tv's that aren't working older tvs or are there some new and some old???
Mines a 2010 model. It seems to be affecting the Panasonic plasmas but not the lcds.

Android Market Movie Rentals - HDMI Out?

Does it allow for HDMI out to a TV?
The prices on some of the movies are the best on the net, way better than Amazon for example.

I already have an MHL adapter...
What you're failing to realize is that some apps blank the TV screen when HDMI out is enabled/TV connected. One of these apps is the Hulu Plus app for example.
Thanks though for the condescending attitude on something you clearly have no idea about.
I'm specifically asking if the Android Movies movie rental app will play through HDMI out or if it will blank the screen. Has anyone tried this?
I bought this a few days ago dealextreme.com/p/micro-usb-to-hdmi-mhl-adapter-101358 (add at the beginning "www"). Probably next week it will arrive. I think there's nothing with best price.

Try to rent a dollar movie that are on the Market and see. I'm curious to see if it works also
I just found this thread in Google Search trying to answer the same question. According to Google, you can, but I haven't tried it yet.

I know this thread is a month old, but I can confirm this does work. I have rented several movies from the android Market on my Sensation and piped them out to the T.V. over the MHL adapter and they worked just fine.

Thanks for this! I never tried this because reading through the Android Market reviews for the Videos app, some people say it works and some people say it doesn't.

[Q]Possible to turn off screen and still have HDMI output?

I just recently got my HDMI cable for my Xoom and started using it to connect to my TV and watch movies, netflix, etc... Question is, is it possible to turn the screen off, say while watching a movie, and still have the movie play on the TV? It would save a lot of battery being able to have the screen off while playing the movie on the TV...
hello, as far as I know, the answere to your question is no, as stupid as it sounds.

[Q] Chromecast mirroring of NFL Mobile on Maxx?

Has anyone got their Droid Maxx to mirror NFL Mobile on their Chromecast device yet? I will buy a Chromecast right now if it works with NFL Mobile. I assume if it can "cast" the screen, that if the screen is playing NFL Mobile, it will work, but I wanna check with you guys first.
Thanks in advance,
Jeff
I have not tried Chromecast, but I can report that the Wireless Display option works great with a Netgear PTV3000 Miracast device.

The Maxx isn't officially supported for Chromecast mirroring yet, for some reason. The NFL Mobile app isn't Chromecast supported that I can tell, either.
So, no, not yet, anyway.

I wouldn't count on the NFL making it easier to cast games.
They protect every single penny that they make.
Just an update. I went ahead and got the chromecast device, installed the app that allows the maxx to mirror with the chrome cast device even though iit isn't officially supported yet. Everything worked great. I watched red some and some games on my big screen instead of on my phone. It was awesome.?

HDMI USB C dongle suppprt?

I know Google said that there would be no means of mirroring your screen via HDMI. But I'm curious. Is that something that be added in with mods? Or is the hardware simply not there?
I don't know much about these things.
I want it to ;-(
