Hi,
One defect that I always have with all my Android phones is that when I record a video sometimes the phone lose focus and the image is blurred.
It happens with s6?
Thanks and sorry for my English!
Nope
does anyone here is with me on this topic ... in ours 5.1inch its useless to have 2560x1440 //// we cant "notice" it .. why none of developers dint make a 1080p rom ? 1080p in 5.1inch is enought over 400ppi ...

all LCDs should be run in native resolution. If you were to switch to a 1080p res in this case, the image will need to be expanded 33% to fill the 1440p screen. That stretching will cost CPU - the opposite of what it sounds like you wanted to accomplish.
But on the other hand it would save some battery because the cpu doesn't have to calculate a 1440p image

dude if you want 1080p then buy S5 :good:
Samsung's latest 2k screens are more power effecting than all their last-gen 1080p screens. We've already been over this. If you feel 2k is too much, then buy an 720p iPhone.

What's the point of this useless thread? The op is disrespectful to other members who provides a legitimate answer. Don't like 2k, then move on and buy a different phone.

Disrespectfu... who mentioned samsung about hiring me... i didnt said i dont like 2k... i said 2k on 5.1 inch its nonesense. Why i asked for 1080p its to get more power from galaxy s6.. like mx5pro have. Still none of the legitimate answers others gave here cannot convice me why we shuld have 2k in s6. Or what is the max pixel density we can se.

If you have to question, and instigate with galaxy s6 having 2k display on a 5.1 inch screen size, then you've chosen the wrong phone. Not one of us has to convince you, or justify the 2k on galaxy s6. I can honestly tell the difference between a 1080p vs. 2k. So you're grossly generalizing at the very least, and your entire argument is invalid. Please stop, we don't need your attitude here.
The galaxy s6 is a great phone and in my opinion there is no phone thats also this great. I love my s6 but I would also like to know if it is possible to render in 1080p. Xperia Z5 does the same, 1080p normally and if you look pictures or video it switches to 4k, in my opinion a very clever feature. Dont hate on other people..
If u cannot see the diff in 2k vs 1080p I dont think we can make you understand. We love our 2ks and proud to boast about it. These diaplays by Samsung are very power efficient and we dont need 1080p. The world has moved forward and you should too. Its a flagship phone.. Respect the 2k amd its the way to go. 4k is overkill but not 2k. If you love 1080p go with s5 or any other flagships from other brands

What xperia does is completly diff. They know that constantly rendering in 4k will drain the battery a hell lot faster! Thatsy they use it only in videos and pic etc.,... Its overkill like I said. But 2k on a 5.1 is perfect and its the way to go know. If you dont love it go with apple's iphone(blah blah retina display)
dont convince me ... convice yourself ... flash artur rom and with 2 simple comands wm size 1080x1920 and wm density 480 ... do this from terminal emulator and enjoy ... im testing 1080p s6 and the phone is so cooler . gaming is much better, much fps , response time is much faster bcoze the cpu/gpu doesnt have to render 1440p anymore. cant tell now about the battery
I'm afraid I'm going to have to close this up. Seems to have run its course.

Only reason I'd upgrade.
I have Note 5 and the resolution is soo good already. At 4K it would not make much difference. What would 4K do to a small screen?
Why do you need a higher resolution than 2.5k? Do you see pixels so badly that images and text look grainy? You realize the trade offs with a 4K display would be worse battery life, worse gaming performance, and likely lower quality screen as 4K in smartphones is still in it's infancy right?

No, it won't.

I have a 120" wall paint screen and I only see in 1080p. If I get to 4K, that would make a mega difference.
But not on such a small screen. Even if you rip a movie to 480p, it still looks great on a 2k tiny screen.

So this is confirmed that it won't?

I have a special use case where I'll be using it at very close distance. But wasn't Quad HD in its "infancy" as well when it came out on the S6? The screen on the S6 is good. Same when Full HD came out on the S4. Both were at the cutting edge at the time.

I know the Sony Xperia has a 4k display but has lots of compromises

The Xperia runs at 1080p for anything other than video or photos so that's useless to me. And I remember one of the first 720p phones, the Xperia S had really washed out colours. Then when Samsung came out with 720p there weren't any problems like that.
No. The screen itself is on par with the Note 5.
I'll only consider 4k if doesn't vastly affect battery life, but that will never happen. So 2k is perfect.

Why not 1080p? You'd get even better battery life with that.
For things like VR you need the higher resolution. 4k would be better for that.
The release today confirmed no 4k screen, which is really no big surprise.

I personally think 4K on a mobile is pointless! On a 55" tv on the other hand!...

This reminds me of the old camera megapixel debate. Bigger?! It must be better!! Er...no. Screens this size do not need 4K, it's a waste and additional real estate for the GPU and CPU to push around. Once you get beyond a certain DPI, the human eye will struggle to notice the difference. 4K on a 55" television? Yes, worth it. 4K on a 5.5" phone? No, it's an unnecessary gimmick to sell phones to people who should know better.
In short, the resolution on the S7 is more than good enough.
'''more than half of US households are anticipated to have a 4K-capable TV '''
Then why not for S7 ? Curious about it

Simple answer, because it's not required. And comparing the resolution of a phone to a TV is ridiculous given the size difference, see my post above. I'm personally glad Samsung haven't bought into the 4K bulls**t and concentrated on more important aspects of the phone to improve.

Excuse me, no one's said bigger=better. I have specific uses where the extra resolution will be valuable. Please don't speak for everyone.
What uses are these?

Hi I have the s8 plus just wondering is the display on the xzp better the the s8 plus not just in resolution just all round better?
Thanks
That is subjective, what are you wanting from either screen?

Yes, xzp display is the best display.
Best resoluciĆ³n
Have rescaled 4k
More quality display.
No one can tell you which screen is better. You'd have to compare em both yourself. I've seen both but like my XZP screen better.
PS : Erica Griffin said her screen was more on the cold side. My screen is more yellowish like the Pixel. What about you guys?
Hi everyone, there Is a mode to change nits values? (Near 550 maybe)?
PS: Sorry for bad english
Thats some hard task. Might need a kernel for that or need to edit an image in one of the partitions of the phone like they did on mi9t series(they overclocked their screens to 80hz afaik).
but i think this is a good smartphone but under the sun i can't see anithing

Blame it on its IPS panel which is an inherent flaw.
