Does anyone else have the same issue as myself, which is the horrible autorotate issue? By issue I mean the phone refuses to rotate all the time. I find myself constantly rotating my phone in circles both horizontal and vertical as well as a combo of both. Sometimes it will rotate but takes a decade. Any thoughts or fixes would be appreciated.
Yes i do but the issue only started after the last update i believe.
I too have same issue also I wish I could set battery saver to not instantly turn auto rotate off.
I also experienced this issue
My (temp) solution: if u rotate ur phone the rotation icon on the navbar will appear and you can press it. Auto rotation on this phone is f* up
Have the issue since day 1. Fierce annoying when watching YouTube.

It's not Youtube related thou
i've never had so many annoying problems like the the screen brightnes or dodgy rotation on a phone. Seriously dissapointed. I previously had a LG G6 and despite the performance difference i really like that phone much more than op7 pro right now. Still... after 3 years

I too came from a G6 which I loved. Between this anti rotate and lack of pocket lock function, maybe I should of just got the G8.

One of the most annoying things of the Gear 1 is the motion to wake up the watch. Is it improved? I watched a bunch of hands on but they all tell the same story. No word about the fact that the display can't be lit all the time and that you have to do some abracadabra to wake the device. Most curious about any improvements in this department.

well you can't have screen all the time due to technology used. AMOLED. if it would be LCD then you could have screen on all the time, but without background light (like in sony smartwatch 2). i already got used to blank screen, and i just turn the screen on/off with a single button.

I know. I'm wondering if they made the watch more sensitive for motions, introduced a new or better wake up motion etc . Definitely want to know more about that.
if samsung did not mention it, then probably it's the same.

That would be a detail for people coming from the Gear1.
If the battery life is better they might have add a more sensitive option.
Btw personally I dont mind to charge the watch every night. Just some routine. I like it even better than checking the battery to see if it needs to be charged again. So if they made the wake up motion more sensitive and could still pump one day out of the battery, it would definitely be a reason for me to upgrade. Otherwise I see no compelling reasons.
I understand what OP is saying. I'm interested to know that answer as well. I actually had to turn motion off because the watch constantly stayed on while driving all day. It would kill my battery. With it off and me pressing the on button as needed, I get at least 3 days of battery life. A better motion sensor could possibly solve this issue.

I noticed having non-TW launcher caused issues with the motion sensor. Using stock had better motion sensor.

what kind of issues did you have? i had none with nova.
I read a hand on today where the reviewer said it does turn on with the flick up of the wrist but that it doesn't turn on right away, like a couple of seconds delay. That isn't good. I want it to be quick like the pebble when you shake the wrist slightly the light comes on. Hopefully they tweak that before it is released....

That's what I want. I move my arm to that wrist up position to much so the watch is almost always on. I wish it had the option to shake the wrist instead so I have better control.
Personally the only good thing about this watch is the motion thing. It works like a good 90-95% of the time. Wake up is excellent on it. However, it goes crazy when your driving.
Hi there guys,
I've been researching on this problem i've got with my Oneplus. It seems that the touchscreen is'nt responsive enough.
Often when i'm scrolling trough (for example) facebook, the phone has a hard time recognizing my swipes, and picks up regular touches instead. Which is causing me to open or like posts when i'm just trying to scroll trough. If i'm scrolling trough my homescreens while just slightly touching the screen, it acts up really hard.
The screen just isn't responsive enough imo.
I'm wondering if other people got the same issue, and if it is hardware or software related.

It is different than ghost-touches.
I noticed there is a topic on xda about this problem already: Click
I hope this can be fixed with a software update.

Funny. I have my oneplus one since a week ago more or less and i also noticed this issue in the very first days of use. Now i've opened facebook app to make some scrolling and see if the problem is still there and i have to say that i don't notice it anymore. Strange, but this is what i feel O_O

Hmm, maybe you just got used to press a bit harder onto the screen (which helps). Would be great if it's really disapearing after a while
Got mine for 3 days now.

I have the exact same issue with my OnePlus after 3 weeks of use. At first it was the swype issue where the phone wasn't picking up swypes properly on the middle left side of my screen. I use a pattern unlock so it's annoying when the dots don't connect.
The next thing was not picking up my touches properly so when ever I use SwiftKey and they recommend words, I could never properly select it because the touchscreen wasn't registering properly.
I did a factory reset and it solved the problem at first but it's now back after 2 days. It's not as bad as before but still persistent. There are tons of people on Redit, Cyanogen and the OnePlus forums that are reporting the same problem.
The good news is it seems like a software and not hardware issue, hopefully the permanent fix can come soon.
Possible solution to the supposed OnePlus One touch sensitivity problem
Settings→Developer Options→ Scroll About Half Way and UNcheck "block gesture touch events"
Also try and see if unchecking "Adaptive backlight" in Settings→Display & lights→ Adaptive backlight, helps.
Of course none of these are permanent solutions. And this problem is real. But maybe the "solutions" above help.
ive not had these issues just yet. but i do get annoyed by gesture control
This still needs to be addressed. It's almost as bad as an old capacitive touch screen!
I got my phone maybe a month after it was released. After exactly 4 months the touchscreen input died and lost all sensitivity. Typing became impossible. After going back and fourth with support for 2 months they finally sent me another one. The new one was excellent for EXACTLY FOUR MONTHS!! Almost to the DAY! My damn touch is broken again and I can't type. I'm furious! I'm also 1wk outside warranty.
With the first phone I tried every hack, crack, rom, reformat, anything I could find. Nothing would restore the touch. I assume it's a hardware issue. I've been looking around for a solution but haven't found anything. If there is anything, I would appreciate some direction.
Sorry for everyone that ever wasted their money on OnePlus, I won't be getting any more products from them...
Has anyone experienced ghost touches and gestures? I know the oneplus launcher has a sensitive edge so if your palm was touching the edge it would bring up the notification bar, had to disable that feature, but has anyone else experienced random ghost touches or is it just me and I should return the device?
I'm experiencing it also, and I'm using Nova so I think it's the phone a d not the launcher.

I've noticed it randomly when the phone is not even being touched, I'm not sure if it has something to do with gestures, I've see reviews on TMobile that someone had the same issue that was much worse than I described and returned the phone.
I have to have a case on our I got the screen. Artifact of the curved glass
Yeah I've noticed on some cases it can cause issues, but this is something a firmware update can fix.
I've had this issue also and it seems to be app dependent. Cpu-z triggers it. Check this out: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-8-O6UchZGLGUA95yJLjQSaqKhbYjljo/view?usp=drivesdk
Using Nova Pro and no never had this issue yet.
Yeah I've had random apps trigger it but then it won't do it at all, not sure how I can even replicate it.
Happens to me too. Interesting sidenote: Switching to 60hz fixes the problem for me.
Yep. Also seeing this issue. Have had it happen twice now, once yesterday and once today. No idea how to replicate. Seems random.
You think it's a hardware issue? Or software?
No such issue, maybe faulty phone. I'd return immediately
haven't had this issue either.
Could you try the CPU-Z app with 90hz enabled? Just keeping this app open makes my 1+ go crazy.
Try taking off the screen protector
I too am having the issue. At first I thought it was the screen protector as well, but taking it off didn't fix anything and I immediately regretted it. The issue is pretty sporadic and going to 60hz does help. I mostly noticed the issue inside the Google Messages app (my primary texting app). And also the CPU-Z trick worked too, my screen went ape sh*t. I'm gonna give OP a week to fix this through software or I'm gonna have to do an exchange.
No issues here. Using Google messaging app n Nova pro.
I've got this issue on mine as well. Started an RMA. If it's not fixed within 2 weeks, I'm sending it back.

I actually had an issue today where I was watching YouTube and my phone started freaking out like I keep touching the screen, something is definitely wrong, but I don't want to go thru T-Mobile to replace it.

Can confirm switching to 60Hz fixes it.
If you enable "Show taps" and "Pointer location" in Developer options it's quite easy to see when it happens. No idea what triggers it, but CPU-Z is definitely the worst one.
I have tried reinstalling the os, root and unroot. Before the newest update I could get into the debug menu, *#808#, there I could see that the accelerometer is giving faulty data. After the update I can't even get into that menu again.
Seems to be a faulty sensor and something with the software. My facking phone is 2 days old........
Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas?
Yeah autorotate sucks for me. Anytime I'm on YouTube and try to watch in landscape it's hit amd miss and i have to keep moving phone to get it to work

Damn. Sounds bad too.
I noticed this while playing Asphalt8 using the accelerometer to steer. It would work for a bit then get stuck trying to drive me into the side of the road!!!
Thinking it may be a bug in the game, I looked at the raw sensor data using Physics Toolbox Suite and saw the same thing. The sensor outputs sensible data for several seconds, maybe even a couple of minutes. Then the values stop changing for about 12 seconds. The length of time the sensor works for is random but the 'dead time' is always about 12 seconds!
Has anyone found a solution to this? Even a hint as to whether it's a software or hardware problem so I can decide if I should send the phone back or wait for an update.
Thanks
Okay thank God someone else has the same issue. I was wondering what was so wrong for the longest time ?
Extremely annoying issue.
It's a software issue. Confirmed.
When I reboot the phone the issue dissapears. Meaning there is something wrong in the OS that tilts the gyroscope readings. At least there is a workaround... Hope OP fixes it soon
I used an OnePlus 5 for 2 years. Now I bought a 7 Pro. I'm wondering doing a downgrade due to this issue. Incredible how a company like oneplus and a premium phone has a software bug like this and there's still no update yet. Months without an update...
The fingerprint sensor also has a bug... Sometimes it simply doesn't work. The touch stops...
OnePlus! Where are you?
My OP9 is perfect apart from 1 thing. When scrolling, I keep my finger on the screen when I stop. When I resume scrolling after a second of the finger being still, there is a slight delay in responsiveness of the screen which resolves within a second. The bug does not occur in any other scenario.
I've figured out what the issue is using this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rt.touchmultitest
The touch sampling rate drops to around 50Hz when the finger is stationary on the screen, and doesn't reset to 240Hz fast enough when you start moving again...
Can anyone please test it to confirm?
TLDR: Touch sampling rate idles when finger doesn't move/moves a little.
Ive noticed issues but it was resolved when i removed the OEM screen protector that's preinstalled on the phone.
I also had to get a new OP9 (unrelated to removing said OEM screen protector) and I am now just dealing with the responsiveness issues until it starts losing its flush application to the screen and starts peeling.
Just a guess but people not realizing its there or just forgetting due to it being so easy to forget is a major reason they report touch responsiveness issues (happen to me when I first got the OP9 AND 6)
Maybe thats it?

It could be the screen protector, although I doubt it... It seems to occur in a very specific situation, almost like it's there intentionally.
Could you please replicate these steps:
1. Scroll on a website/text
2. Stop scrolling and keep your finger on the screen (important)
3. After a second of the finger being still, resume scrolling with a fast gesture (without moving the finger off the screen) and see if the screen follows with appropriate speed.
In my case, there is a noticable delay at first but it resolves after moving the finger for a while.
Can anyone please check if their phone behaves like this? Thanks a lot!
I have the exact same issue.
i have the same issue too
Nope , tried recreating, no issue here .
p.s. not using seen protectors .
Hey OP. I am on the Paranoid Android Alpha ROM and believe this will correct your issue. Its touch responsiveness feels completely different from stock for me and no longer have any issues.
If you are comfortable with any of that, maybe give it a try.

i cant find the article, but its a bug that was introduced by google even to the pixel lineup in android last year or year before. The same thing happens on the One Plus Nord N200. Its annoying. I beleive google fixed it but doesnt seem like one plus has fixed it or carried the fix from the google tree. In android 11 google also introduced touch sensitivity but seems like one plus removed it in their final release ROM/FIRMWARE https://www.xda-developers.com/google-pixel-4-new-increased-touch-sensitivity-option-android-11/
