[solved] Pie Firmware H3213 with confirmed VOLTE working - Sony XA2 Ultra Questions & Answers

I am looking for a working PIE firmware to use VOLTE with my VOLTE activated SIM (Telekom DE). I tried several versions i downloaded with XPERIFIRM und flashed with newflasher (CH, Benelux, UK,...) even some DUAL SIM Versions and combinations of parts of the those firmwares (VENDOR, OEM,...). Can anybody confirm a VOLTE working firmware?
Solution:
- I took H3213 firmware "H3213_Customized UK_1312-2028_50.2.A.0.379_R2B" as it is the newest europian version.
- deleted all .ta files
- deleted the following files: appslog*, diag*, persist*, qnovo*, ssd*, userdata*
- replaced the following two files with the versions from H3113 firmware (= XA2 without Ultra) "H3113_Customized DE_1312-2606_50.2.A.0.379_R1B": oem_other_X-FLASH-CUST-18AE and oem_other_X-FLASH-CUST-18AE
- flashed with newflasher v17
Result: "G4" is now namened "LTE", VOLTE ist available and running, Voice over WLAN ist available
This comes with no warranty - but does it for me. Txs für all hints.

god dang worked for me!!! used UK though for the usa h3223

Enabling EE VoLTE on BTU S7 6.0.1

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know if it would be possible to flash an EE (EVR CSC) onto my rooted BTU 6.0.1 firmware? The BTU 6.0.1 firmware doesn't support EE VoLTE. I don't want to be on EVR firmware because it messes up my dual sim model (G930FD)
VoLTE became active on my EE G920F (BTU) earlier today. I'd been asking the same question as you for a few days. Was messing in the settings, disabled and reenabled wifi calling and it just happened. Phone rebooted itself and VoLTE was active. Tested with a few 4G calls to confirm.
None of the ims files were changed but there is a new APN named 'ims' in the settings. It isn't selected active but it is there - it wasn't before.
Yes, the phone was bought.from an EE shop and still carries the original IMEI. So I believe as long as your phone was bought from an EE outlet you will definitely be able to use VoLTE sometime soon.
Currently running the CarHDRom V.27

[Problem] Lost VoLTE en VoWiFi after flashing

Hi,
Unfortunately, it happens to be the case that phones lose wifi/4G calling feature after flashing a ROM which does not have the same CSC. In my case, stock Vodafone Netherlands ROM was preinstalled (by Vodafone or Samsung (idk)).
After flashing the UK BTU nougat ROM, I lost wifi/4G calling feature.
I've since tried to get the feature back.
I thought I downloaded the correct firmware from Sammobile: Netherlands Vodafone ROM.
However, after having flashed the ROM successfully, the phone gives me the message "Wilkommen", which in German!
It should be Dutch! I can change language, but that doesn't bring back the feature
Do you have any idea where I can find the right ROM?
Thanks in advance!
A copy of your "CSC" will do as well!

Get VoLTE working on H8314/H8324 XZ2 Compact in India on Airtel and Jio

I spent quite a bit of time figuring out how to make the VoLTE work on Airtel and Jio in India on a USA edition H8314 phone.
Sony for some reason doesn't bundle all operators VoLTE configuration in all images, not sure why, typically not the case with other high end phones. And they have region specific bundles or OEM customization.
I solved the problem by taking parts of the regular dual sim ZX2 firmware H8296_Customized IN_1314-9934_52.0.A.3.202_R4B, which has the VoLTE configuration for Airtel and Reliance, and flashing it on my phone. VoLTE works! No issues noticed so far (will update if I notice anything).
Here are the steps:
1. Install XperiFirm
2. download the Indian version of firmware for XZ2 dual, in my case H8296_Customized IN_1314-9934_52.0.A.3.202_R4B
3. download and install newflasher
4. From the downloaded and extracted set of files in XperiFirm download directory, copy the following to another directory
oem_other_X-FLASH-CUST-B6B5.sin
oem_X-FLASH-CUST-B6B5.sin
5. Copy the newflasher also to the same directory, now this directory should have 3 files
6. turn off the phone,
8. enter flashmode (vol down + connect USB cable to PC)
9. run the newflasher, in the directory you prepaired in step 4 and 5
10. Unplug from USB after the flashing is done and restart your phone, it should work with VoLTE on airtel as well as Jio. On airtel it may take a few minutes before the calls actually start going on VoLTE but it works perfectly fine.
This doesn't require bootloader unlock so all phone function would remain good. Feel Free to ask questions, the version of firmware on my XZ2C is 52.0.A.3.163 USA generic.
So this works good with Indian and US networks ?

I haven't traveled to USA since, but I do not see why it won't work.
thanks ahzam for sharing this. My XZ2 is on Customized Version CE1 and VoLTE didn't work with o2 Germany. I downloaded the DE firmware with xperifirm and flashed the 2 files you mentioned via newflasher v13. Reboot and everything is working fine now!
Thanks again,

Hi ahzam,
I have bought H8296 unlocked international version from USA.
I am also not able to use the VoLTE in India on airtel idea or jio.
Will this firmware help me to get the VoLTE.
After doing so, will I be getting future official Sony updates or it will be rooted device and Xperia support will end?
Can you please help?

For me updates still work.
Your device will not be rooted after that. So in my opinion you will not loose your warranty.
Greetz
Thank you for confirming
I will try this and keep you posted if this works
Thank you Guys
It worked and now I get VoLTE on both Airtel and Jio.
However for Airtel it takes some extra 10 seconds to get VoLTE.
One problem I have noticed after this. I received an official xperia update but got an error "Could not Install" while installing this update.
Do you know how to resolve this issue?

For me all updates worked so far without any error. I think i've read somewhere, that the update can be done via Sony companion. (But for me companion never worked in any way^^)

you should be able to get VoLTE for any region by following this process, you need to extract the files from right version of the bundle for that region.

First of all, I would like to say Big thanks who share this Procedure, Now I am able to use Volte Functionality
Now I have the same problem while changing sim1 to sim2 to and vice versa but before did volte procedure it was working fine in both sim, so as per my opinion this problem related somewhere Volte functional
I bought this Cell from the Middle East, So in Middle east it was working fine while changing Sim1 & Sim2 Procedure and even in India it was working
So if someone does R&D than might be it is a curable issue, I don't know why Sony did a big mistake nowadays even Oops, Vivo, all Chinese implements successfully these things, even sony dosnt implement Auto Hide status bar in Compact Series Cell

Today I discovered 3 more problems
1)After Install Volte Firmware, Because in India no Official launched XZ2C , after install we can not get Firmware Update
2)If you Switch Mobile data between two sims, Cell will restart automatically
3)In Setting->Display you can not get Super Vivid Mode or Professional Mode for better color reproduction
So if anyone tells me XZ2C officially launched which country with Volte Function, if we get an answer than we can solve all the issue
Fact. reset

To get back this, just factory re-set and will get this options. Anyway It is not working any VoLTE (it's just showing the LTE symbol and option in seeting, in reality your call is routed on 3g/2g. ) you can verify this by selecting 4g only and try calling.

SM-N9860 improvements

Hi guys,
I've got the brand new SM-N9860 (Note 20 Ultra 5G) that is TGY/TGY, TGY. This is Hongkong version of the firmware. It lacks two features I used to - native call recording and network speed indicator at the top. I've migrated to CHC (Open China) version and got both
Also CHC version looks much cleaner - you can uninstall all that China software and it has no Google software as sell (no Google Play etc.).
How to do it (no root required, Knox is intact etc., but phone will be factory reset):
1. You need to downgrade from lates TGY to July BRI (yes, BRI) version of the firmware (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...nge-csc-sm-n9860-ds-n20u-5g-hongkong-t4163363)
2. After BRI is installed and up, download the latest CHC (I used Frija - https://github.com/SlackingVeteran/frija, use "CHC" for CSC field)
3. Using ODIN (3.14.4), write the firmware (here some tips - https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...to/ath3-official-stock-fw-updateodin-t4143909), use CSC_... for CSC (not HOME)
Now I have the call recording and network speed indicator out of the box
Tested some sensitive apps: Android Auto - works fine (checked with a car). Google Pay - works fine.

Wait a minute....
Are you suggesting to...
A) Move from Latest TGY ROM (in my case ATJ1) to July BRI firmware ATGM.... right?
B) Now when July BRI (Taiwanese) Firmware is Flashed and phone is running. You are suggesting to download latest CHC (Open China) firmware and flash ONLY CSC (OF CHINESE FIRMWARE CHC) and not the rest of 2 files AP & CP??
Does a CSC of other region work with AP Firmware of another region if the phone model remains same (SM-N9860)??
Will it unlock native call recording and other features?
Will it update in future as well?
If it updates then will the CSC be updated aswell? And it remains CHC or revert back to BRI?
Please guide us through.
I am asking this because I already did migrate to CHC firmware two weeks ago and I didn't had to goto July BRI. I was at August TGY firmware and I simply flashed the CHC firmware and got Native call recording and that network indicator too but then there was heaps of bloatware and all Firmware actually was for Chinese people with everything in chines, samsung member, no Netflix, no samsung pass, many thing in Chinese, country name of phone numbers in Chinese, difference in phone number formats and many more. It was so irritating so I switched back to TGY.
Please tell us of you have some different experience or work around. I need my phone to keep updating as well.
Sent from my SM-N9860 using Tapatalk
A - correct
B - no, you need to flash all the components (BL, AP etc.). I had "TGY/TGY, TGY", now I have "CHC/CHC, CHC/TGY"
You can't update CSC only (ODIN will show the error and will not proceed)
With CHC you have all the OTA features. I'm sure that after the update you'll keep CHC.
Actually, the only drawback of the CHC I've noticed to date - "Yellow pages" tab and country name in the Phone app (but I prefer True Phone, so it doesn't matter). All the bloatware can be uninstalled (moreother - TGY installs Google apps, that I don't use like Photo etc.), keyboard should be switched to Swiftkey or Samsung. I've downloaded Netflix apk (from 4pda) and it works well. I see no single reason to switch back to TGY or BRI.
The only item to be checked left is Android Auto in a car (it could be a stumbling block).
If you like TGY, you can try the following trick - write CHC (it has OZL CSC - N9860OZL1ATI3), after that use SamKEY to change CSC to TGY (it should work with OZL, and doesn't work with OZS), after that use ODIN to write TGY (except CSC), and after that - revert back CSC from TGY to CHC using SamKEY. I haven't tried it, just an idea.

I'm sure it has been mentioned time and time again that the Snapdragon models of the N20U doesn't have esim activated by default. Only Samsung can activate it. They did not do it on the S20 Snapdragon series and I don't think they will on the N20.

BRI, TGY, CHC do not support Esim as none of the snapdragon versions has esim activated, thanks to Samsung.
Confirming - no eSim support on TGY, BRI (October update) and CHC (September update)
Just to add,the HK models are dual physical sim not eSim. Folks chasing something that doesn't exist lol.

Hi guys,
I've got the brand new SM-N9860 (Note 20 Ultra 5G) that is TGY/TGY, TGY.

Hello to everyone,
I have followed Andriy_ 's procedure and now I am experimenting the good and the bad of CHC ROM. The only very annoying problems I am getting are with Google Maps continuously crashing after getting the right GPS position, Google Pay not working at the end of the certification of a credit card and one of my 3 bank's accounts apps saying that it is not compatible with my phone (Safety Net Check fails ("Basic integrity" and "CTS Profile Match")). Everything was obviously working like a charm with original (Hong Kong) rom. I think that there is no solution, maybe Google does not certify chinese ROMs....Any help?
Regards
Franco

You don't need to do step 1. You can flash directly to a CHC room. That's what I did before.

Yes, because this specific room is not google certified, a requirement to use secured google services. This is one of the reasons that made me go back to TGY/BRI. Also it doesn't have the Samsung Pass and you can't get rid of the Chinese yellowpage service in the phone app (unless you use 3rd party phone app as the default).
I have no issues with Google Maps and Google Pay works fine on CHC... Have you installed Play market?

Yes, downloaded from a well known and reliable APK repository (Google Play Store, Play Services and Framework)
I've installed Play market only. Maybe this is the difference?

Any firmwares with VoLTE enabled

I'm trying to re-enable VoLTE by reverting the firmware back to Stock 601SO JP Nougat though during bundle creation, SMF prompted that carrier.sin isn't included in the 41.fsc flash script file. Ofc I didn't include it at first because it might lock my device back to the carrier who issued it - was unlocked before so I'm not entirely sure. After flashing Nougat 601SO (with *.ta and carrier.sin excluded), the setup screen is spazzing out with a window saying "ChameleonWorkload" stopped responding. I'm currently using Stock F8332 CE1 Oreo. So...
1. Is carrier.sin responsible for the "ChameleonWorkload" ANR spam?
2. Are there any stock F8332 firmwares that has VoLTE enabled?
According to a post from another forum, it can be done by using a firmware from another region (or carrier-specific)
